Artificial intelligence (AI) will play a vital role in optimizing 6G networks by enabling dynamic spectrum allocation, intelligent resource management, and network optimization. This will create intelligent networks that can adapt, learn, and evolve.

Abstract

The Bonseyes EU H2020 collaborative project aims to develop a platform consisting of a Data Marketplace, a Deep Learning Toolbox, and Developer Reference Platforms for organizations wanting to adopt Artificial Intelligence. The project will be focused on using artificial intelligence in low power Internet of Things (IoT) devices ("edge computing"), embedded computing systems, and data center servers ("cloud computing"). It will bring about orders of magnitude improvements in efficiency, performance, reliability, security, and productivity in the design and programming of systems of artificial intelligence that incorporate Smart Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). In addition, it will solve a causality problem for organizations who lack access to Data and Models. Its open software architecture will facilitate adoption of the whole concept on a wider scale. To evaluate the effectiveness, technical feasibility, and to quantify the real-world improvements in efficiency, security, performance, effort and cost of adding AI to products and services using the Bonseyes platform, four complementary demonstrators will be built. Bonseyes platform capabilities are aimed at being aligned with the European FI-PPP activities and take advantage of its flagship project FIWARE. A study explores the effects of different levels of delay (or latency) on the coordination, pace and timing regularity of musicians who are in remote locations, a situation encountered in an interactive network performance. It notes that small timing variances are prevalent in performance and performers usually handle these well, but regardless of their experience, all levels of ensembles are affected by the types of changes in external latency that characterize network performance.

Abstract

A strengthened communication between companies and other social partners is a condition for enhancing graduate employability. Social media technologies could facilitate this communication and add new dimensions of teaching and learning. We present the results of a qualitative study conducted in order to identify the opinions of relevant stakeholders in relation to the initiative of developing a social media information system in a European region, for enhancing graduate employability in that region. Similar to other European regions, in the Danube region there are various difficulties related to the employment of graduates, such as: decrease of job security over the career, high probability of having obsolete professional competences in a short period of time after graduation, and difficulties in choosing a suitable working place according to one's education. The main study conclusions were that our initiative's relevant stakeholders have slightly different opinions in this regard, mainly due to different levels of experience in using social media in communication processes. Also, companies expressed their intention not to interfere with universities' e-learning environment, not even for recruitment purposes. At the same time, universities showed interest in any type of continuous involvement in the professional development of their graduates, including the initiative of extending their traditional learning space towards social networks. Abstract

The concept of Education 3.0 has emerged from the technology-enhanced learning domain, as a results of several factors, such as: the technological progress of social media, big data and cloud technologies, virtual reality, sensory technologies; the increased importance given to education and to the new forms of education (continuous, competences oriented, collaborative/ social, online); the widespread use of so-called Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) or Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as: Moodle, Blackboard, Sakai. The paper presents the analysis of the main challenges of adopting social media information systems (SMISs) in universities, by applying the Rogers's innovation diffusion model on data collected in two online surveys carried out in the framework of the START-SoPI project. The project has aimed to determine the feasibility of pan-European social media platforms for lifelong learning programs delivered by the universities in the European region of Danube River. Based upon the results of our study, we conclude that significant challenges exist in adopting and implementing SMISs in universities, which are mainly related to the stakeholders' perceptions and motivations and to the organizational culture.
