Punch grafting is a technique that can improve and accelerate the healing of hard-to-heal wounds and reduce the associated pain. It is a simple and inexpensive procedure that can be performed in the examination room. It is a technique that uses small split-thickness skin grafts (STSG) to promote the growth of epithelial tissue. It has been described as being used mainly to treat ulcers of venous, arterial, hypertensive and diabetic aetiology. Punch grafting has also been used successfully in postoperative dermatological surgical wounds. This article describes and details the performance of the punch-graft technique, with special emphasis on aftercare and the role of nurses in the procedure. A clinical case is presented of a patient who underwent surgery for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and whose primary closure was rejected. It was decided to place the STSGs obtained from the anterior aspect of the patient's thigh after preparation of the recipient area to ensure an optimal wound bed. This article presents a case study on a 14-year-old male goalkeeper who developed hand eczema from wearing goalkeeper gloves. The patient experienced recurrent and pruritic lesions on his hands, which improved with the use of a cream. Patch testing revealed positive reactions to 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and epoxy resin, both of which are commonly found in sports equipment. The patient was diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis caused by the goalkeeper gloves and was advised to wear cotton gloves as a first layer. After three months of treatment, the patient showed significant improvement. The article emphasizes the importance of investigating patients with patch testing, including sports equipment, and highlights the need for collaboration with manufacturers to identify allergens. Of these, four patients (10%) suffered primary failure by not reaching PASI75 at week 16, and six patients (15%) suffered secondary failure by losing PASI75 at week 16. Facial edema is a relatively frequent clinical presentation encountered in patients seen in allergology and dermatology clinics. The differential diagnosis is broad, and sometimes the definitive diagnosis can be a challenge for the clinician. Facial angioedema itself encompasses different etiopathologies (histaminergic, bradykinergic, etc.) that must be distinguished from other causes of facial edema, such as allergic contact dermatitis, granulomatous conditions, inflammatory causes, infections, neoplasms or paraneoplastic syndromes, autoimmune diseases, among other entities hereby referred as miscellanea. A proper diagnostic approach is essential to order the appropriate tests, as well as to prescribe a targeted treatment.
