Developing efficient, fast performing and thermally stable Silver iodide based fast ion conducting solids are of great interest for resistive switching applications, but still remain challenges. Metallization in bulk, behavior of threshold voltage profile over composition and corrosion reactions are few of these challenges. In this work, the switching behavior of bulk, fast ion conducting, vitreous (AgI)x-(Ag2O)25-(MoO3)75-x, for 60 < x < 40 solids, has been investigated, in order to understand the switching mechanism with theinert electrodes. By using inert electrodes, the switching becomes irreversible, memory type. The switching mechanism is electrochemical metallization process. The inert electrodes restrain ionic mass transfer but exhibit low barrier to electron transfer allowing the cathodic metallization reaction to reach Nernst equilibrium faster. Cations involved in this process transport thorough the free volume within the solid structure and follows Mott-Gurney model for electric field driven thermally activated ion hopping conductivity model. This model along with the thermal stability profile provide a narrow region within composition with better switching performance based on swiftness to reach threshold voltage and less power loss. Traces of anionic contribution to metallization are absent. Moreover, anodic oxidation involves reactions that cause bubble formation and corrosion.

14. Effects of gamma-irradiation on the superconducting properties of FeTe0.55Se0.45 single crystals grown by self-flux method.

We have investigated the effect of gamma (γ)-irradiation on the structural and superconducting properties of FeTe0.55Se0.45 single crystals grown by the self-flux method. The impact of γ-irradiation on the superconducting transition temperature (TC), critical current density (JC), and vortex pinning mechanism has been systematically studied. The x-ray diffraction study reveals the growth of single crystals along the c-axis. The superconductivity has been confirmed in pristine and γ-irradiated samples through temperature-dependent resistivity (ρ (T)) and magnetization [M(T)] measurements. After irradiation, a slight improvement is observed in the upper critical field H c 2 (0) values. The values of thermally activated energy have been calculated and a crossover from a single to collective vortex pinning regime is observed. Additionally, we have analyzed the vortex phase diagrams, revealing a transition from vortex liquid to vortex glass state. Furthermore, the presence of second magnetization peak (SMP) or fishtail effect has been noticed in the M(H) loops, and with increasing temperature, the position of SMP (H s p ) shifts toward lower magnetic field regions. The critical current density has been estimated by Bean's critical state model at different magnetic fields [JC(H)] and temperatures [JC(T)]. The defects through gamma-irradiation lead to a significant threefold increase in JC compared to pristine samples in self-field and at 2 K. The pinning mechanisms have been explained using collective pinning theory and the Dew-Hughes model by analyzing the normalized pinning force density. For such a system, we derive closed-form approximations of coverage probability and average rate achievable. A piece-wise linear approximation is employed in obtaining the simplified expressions. The proposed results are verified numerically through simulations. In this study, we have synthesized CuO, ZnO, and CuO@ZnO composites with different mole ratios of CuO and ZnO, like CZ11 (1:1), CZ21 (2:1), and CZ12 (1:2) for NO
2 gas sensing. Furthermore, the synthesized CuO, ZnO, and CuO@ZnO composites have been mixed with 10 wt% rGO. For electrical measurements, thin films of the synthesized samples have been fabricated by drop casting method which is abbreviated as CuO/rGO, ZnO/rGO, CZG11, CZG21, and CZG12. The measured percentage response values of CuO/rGO, ZnO/rGO, CZG11, CZG21, and CZG12 for 10 ppm NO2 gas at room temperature are 30, 45, 56, 55 and 77, respectively. Thus, among these samples, CZG12 has the best percentage response, approximately 2.6 and 1.7 times greater than CuO/rGO and ZnO/rGO sensors, with a response time of 13 s. XPS results confirm that this sample has more oxygen vacancies as compared to bare CZ12. Moreover, we investigated the sensing behavior of the CZG12 sensor at different temperatures (27–100 °C) and relative humidity (RH) levels (20–95%). The sensor shows a better percentage response at room temperature and for intermediate humidity (∼50%) levels. Additionally, at room temperature, the sensor shows negligible response to other gases such as NH3 , CO, H2 S, and Cl2 , proving its excellent selectivity towards NO2 gas. Moreover, it has been observed that after 100 days, the response is almost constant, suggesting the long-term stability of this sensor. Summary Software‐defined networking (SDN) is an emerging networking architecture paradigm that decouples the control and data planes. The problem of figuring out the number and positions of controllers and mapping of switches to them is known as the controller placement problem. To provide the resilience against the failure of a controller, each switch is mapped to a primary controller (first reference controller or FRC) and a backup controller (second reference controller or SRC). An existing work aims to minimize the worst‐case latency (WCL) from switch to controller when a controller fails. But this work misses the constraint specifying the definition of a switch's SRC, which might cause an increase in the latency between some switches and their controllers in the event of a controller failure. In order to address this issue, a model is proposed in this paper by incorporating the missing constraint. But the addition of this constraint can potentially cause an increase in the minimum number of required controllers. In order to address this issue, a second model is proposed in this paper by modifying the capacity constraint based on the observation that the capacity of a controller need not be reserved for all the switches for which it acts as SRC. The two proposed models aim at minimizing the WCL from switch to controller when a controller fails. Three network topologies are used to test the proposed models and compare their performance with the existing model in terms of principal and subsidiary metrics. The results demonstrate that the proposed models perform on equal level with the existing model in terms of WCL from switch to SRC while outperforming it in terms of average latency (AL). For example, the first proposed model achieves an average AL reduction of 21.63%, 8.55%, and 25.13% compared with the existing model on three networks. Similarly, the second proposed model achieves an average AL reduction of 21.3%, 8.55%, and 24.19% in each network on three networks. Moreover, the second proposed model achieves a fair trade‐off between the minimum number of controllers required and AL while outperforming both the existing and the first proposed models in terms of the average percentage of reserved controller capacity. Magnetic and magnetotransport properties of oriented polycrystalline Pr0.58Ca0.42MnO3 thin films prepared in flowing oxygen and air ambient has been investigated. The magnetic ground state of both the films is a frozen cluster glass. In the air annealed film charge order (CO) is quenched and ferromagnetic (FM) transition, which appears at TC=148 K is followed by antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition at TN=104 K. This film shows self-field hysteretic insulator-metal transition (IMT) at TIMC=89 K and TIMW=148 K in the cooling and warming cycle, respectively. Application of magnetic field (H) gradually enhances TIMC and TIMW, reduces the thermoresistive hysteresis and TIM diminishes. In contrast, the film annealed in flowing oxygen shows a CO transition, which is followed by FM and AFM transitions. This film shows appreciably smaller magnetic moment and does not show IMT upto H=20 kOe. As H is increased to H=30 kOe, IMT having strong thermoresistive hysteresis and sharp resistivity jumps appears in the cooling and warming cycles. As H increases to higher values the thermoresistive hysteresis is reduced, resistivity jumps are observed to disappear and TIM decreases. In the lower temperature regime the resistivity first decreases slowly with H and then shows sharp drop. The virgin cycle is not recoverable in subsequent cycles. The decrement far more pronounced in the oxygen annealed film and occurs at much higher H suggesting that the frozen cluster glass state is more robust in this film. The microstructural analysis of the two set of films shows CO quenching, FM transition and self-field IMT in air annealed film is caused by higher density of microstructural disorder and lattice defects. Though the Hyper-spectral images (HSI) are associated with rich spectral information for discriminating the class-specific objects, the high dimensional data generates Hughes effect for additional processing. So, during pre-processing, band Selection (BS) is done to lower the dimension. The proposed unsupervised BS technique follows ‘3ʹ subsequent steps, such as 1) spatial residual (Gaussian) filtering, 2) spatial feature-based band clustering (using K-means) and 3) Entropy-based ranking. Initially, the bands are filtered and the self residual images are obtained. The filtered residual images are mapped to k clusters, where each cluster represents unique spatial information. Further, each cluster undergoes selection through the information-theoretic (Entropy) approach. Also, from the selected optimal bands, SpatioSpectral information is extracted to appraise the performance using Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers with different state-of-art approaches. Performance measures like Average Accuracy (AA), Kappa (κ) and Overall Accuracy (OA) are contrasted and are presented in tables. The experiment shows propitious results as contrasted to other approaches, and suggests that pre clustering of the bands is informative as the adjacent bands are strongly correlated. Also, on comparing other approaches, the proposed one is computationally cheap and faster, which may best suit for online (in-camera) BS purposes.

- Abstract
BackgroundSARS-CoV-2 pandemic has had many significant impacts within the surgical realm, and surgeons have been obligated to reconsider almost every aspect of daily clinical practice.MethodsThis is a cross-sectional study reported in compliance with the CHERRIES guidelines and conducted through an online platform from June 14th to July 15th, 2020. The primary outcome was the burden of burnout during the pandemic indicated by the validated Shirom-Melamed Burnout Measure.ResultsNine hundred fifty-four surgeons completed the survey. The median length of practice was 10 years; 78.2% included were male with a median age of 37 years old, 39.5% were consultants, 68.9% were general surgeons, and 55.7% were affiliated with an academic institution. Overall, there was a significant increase in the mean burnout score during the pandemic; longer years of practice and older age were significantly associated with less burnout.There were significant reductions in the median number of outpatient visits, operated cases, on-call hours, emergency visits, and research work, so, 48.2% of respondents felt that the training resources were insufficient. The majority (81.3%) of respondents reported that their hospitals were included in the management of COVID-19, 66.5% felt their roles had been minimized; 41% were asked to assist in non-surgical medical practices, and 37.6% of respondents were included in COVID-19 management.ResultsNine hundred fifty-four surgeons completed the survey. Using muon spin rotation (muSR) we investigated the magnetic and superconducting properties of a series of Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2 single crystals with 0 =< x =< 0.15. Our study details how the antiferromagnetic order is suppressed upon Co substitution and how it coexists with superconductivity. In the non-superconducting samples at 0 < x < 0.04 the antiferromagnetic order parameter is only moderately suppressed. With the onset of superconductivity this suppression becomes faster and it is most rapid between x = 0.045 and 0.05. As was previously demonstrated by muSR at x = 0.055 [P. Marsik et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 57001 (2010)], the strongly weakened antiferromagnetic order is still a bulk phenomenon that competes with superconductivity. The comparison with neutron diffraction data suggests that the antiferromagnetic order remains commensurate whereas the amplitude exhibits a spatial variation that is likely caused by the randomly distributed Co atoms. A different kind of magnetic order that was also previously identified [C. Bernhard et al., New J. Phys. 11, 055050 (2009)] occurs at 0.055 < x < 0.075 where Tc approaches the maximum value. The magnetic order develops here only in parts of the sample volume and it seems to cooperate with superconductivity since its onset temperature coincides with Tc. Even in the strongly overdoped regime at x = 0.11, where the static magnetic order has disappeared, we find that the low energy spin fluctuations are anomalously enhanced below Tc. These findings point toward a drastic change in the relationship between the magnetic and superconducting orders from a competitive one in the strongly underdoped regime to a constructive one in near optimally and overdoped samples., Comment: 33 Pages, 9 Figures

Using muon spin rotation (\muSR) and infrared spectroscopy we investigated the recently discovered superconductor K0.73Fe1.67Se2 with Tc = 32 K. We show that the combined data can be consistently described in terms of a macroscopically phase segregated state with a matrix of ~88% volume fraction that is insulating and strongly magnetic and inclusions with a ~12% volume fraction which are metallic, superconducting and non-magnetic. The electronic properties of the latter, in terms of the normal state plasma frequency and the superconducting condensate density, appear to be similar as in other iron selenide or arsenide superconductors., Comment: 22 pages, 8 figures. We present a muon spin rotation (\muSR) study of the magnetic and superconducting properties of single crystals of electron-doped BaFe2-xCoxAs2 with x=0.08, 0.20, and 0.25 (Tc=9, 25 and 20K) and of polycrystalline hole-doped Pr1-xSrxFeAsO with x=0 and 0.2 (Tc=15 K). In the former series we observe some interesting parallels with the electron doped SmFeAsO1-xFx 1111-type system [A.J. Drew et al., to appear in Nature Materials 2009 and arXiv:0807.4876]. In particular, we obtain evidence that strongly disordered static magnetism coexists with superconductivity on a microscopic scale in underdoped samples and even at optimum doping there is a slowing down (or enhancement) of dynamic magnetic correlations below Tc\approx25K. To the contrary, for the hole-doped Pr1-xSrxFeAsO samples we obtain evidence for a mesoscopic phase segregation into regions with nearly unperturbed AF order and others that are non magnetic and most likely superconducting. The observed trend resembles the one that was previously reported for hole-doped Ba1-xKxFe2As2 [A.A. Aczel et al., Phys. Rev. B 78, 214503 (2008); J.T. Park et al., arXiv:0811.2224] and thus seems to be fairly common in these hole doped systems., Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures

The rapid emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as a global pandemic affecting millions of individuals globally has necessitated sensitive and high-throughput approaches for the diagnosis, surveillance, and determining the genetic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2. In the present study, we used the COVIDSeq protocol, which involves multiplex-PCR, barcoding, and sequencing of samples for high-throughput detection and deciphering the genetic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2. We used the approach on 752 clinical samples in duplicates, amounting to a total of 1536 samples which could be sequenced on a single S4 sequencing flow cell on NovaSeq 6000. Our analysis suggests a high concordance between technical duplicates and a high concordance of detection of SARS-CoV-2 between the COVIDSeq as well as RT-PCR approaches. An in-depth analysis revealed a total of six samples in which COVIDSeq detected SARS-CoV-2 in high confidence which were negative in RT-PCR. Additionally, the assay could detect SARS-CoV-2 in 21 samples and 16 samples which were classified inconclusive and pan-sarbeco positive respectively suggesting that COVIDSeq could be used as a confirmatory test. The sequencing approach also enabled insights into the evolution and genetic epidemiology of the SARS-CoV-2 samples. The samples were classified into a total of 3 clades. This study reports two lineages B.1.112 and B.1.99 for the first time in India. This study also revealed 1,143 unique single nucleotide variants and added a total of 73 novel variants identified for the first time. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the COVIDSeq approach for detection and genetic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2. Our analysis suggests that COVIDSeq could be a potential high sensitivity assay for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, with an additional advantage of enabling the genetic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2.
