Pressures facing junior faculty during a tenure track job search are high and can come from a multitude of areas. It follows that professionals in this position would try to reduce uncertainty associated with securing a new employment contract. The authors offer their observations below on how to increase an applicant's chance to succeed in an initial screening process--what is we refer to as "making the first pile"--and the interviews that follow.

Succession in family firms is an extremely difficult and complex event in which advisors are often involved or sought. Advisors, especially business consultants, frequently play an important role in shaping and guiding such complex strategic processes. Nevertheless, it is not clear whether and to what extent the involvement of advisors, especially business consultants, in family firm succession impact the outcome of succession planning processes, such as the choice of the next chief executive officer (CEO). We explore whether family-owner socioemotional wealth, measured through their level of commitment to the firm, influences the preference for a family CEO versus a nonfamily CEO and acceptance of the advisor role in the succession planning process. In the last few decades, teaching courses online has become a standard practice at many colleges and universities. Although technologies and pedagogies have changed rapidly during this time, developing an online course is still a labor and time-intensive undertaking. With changes in staffing and course offerings, faculty are often faced with determining the most effective and efficient ways to assume responsibilities for online courses. The authors suggest that under particular ownership expectations there are three main approaches for faculty tasked with offering a course online: 1) develop a new course, 2) modify an already existing course, or 3) adopt an existing online course "as-is." Some decision guidelines and sample scenarios are offered to aid faculty in determining the best approach for launching or taking ownership of an online course offering.

Entrepreneurship remains relatively immature compared with other business, economic and social research disciplines. It lacks large scale, longitudinal studies with rigorous research methods and complex models that provide a foundational, empirical base, partly due to the resource-intensive nature of such studies. Through the lens of the Entrepreneurship Education Project this paper demonstrates how applying entrepreneurial methods to entrepreneurship research may help rapidly advance our understanding of entrepreneurship education. We offer a theoretical account of how two types of bricolage influence the entrepreneurial process. The first type involves social relationships or physical or functional assets, and thus pertains to an entrepreneur's external resources used in the instantiation of operations of a new venture.The second type pertains to an entrepreneur's internal resources—experiences, credentials, knowledge, and certifications—which the entrepreneur appropriates, assembles, modifies and deploys in the presentation of a narrative about the entrepreneurial process.
