Thinking into Being explores QUT’s unique cross-disciplinary and collaborative approach to teaching and learning. The exhibition brings together work by QUT graduates from the Schools of Architecture and Built Environment, Creative Practice, and Design, who have become leading creative practitioners both nationally and internationally. Thinking into Being is a wide-ranging exploration of the often unseen creative processes that bring into being the objects, products and experiences of our culture. The exhibition reveals how these processes may bring about social, political, ecological, and economic change—now and into the future.

Vis-ability proposes alternative ways of engaging with art and to consider how design can deepen our understanding of vision and challenge our sight-driven experience of art. In 2020, a digital version of the Vis-ability exhibition from QUT Art Museum and QUT was exhibited as a part of Design for All: New Pathways for Capitals of Culture Digital Exhibition as a part of the Croatian EU Presidency, Rijeka, as the largest Croatian port, and became the centre of a significant and extensive culture and arts programme and the host city for the best and most interesting artists from the global, Croatian and European cultural scenes – in the same year when it is the European Capital of Culture.

Vis-ability: Artworks from the QUT Art Collection exhibition Bringing together a selection of recent acquisitions from the QUT Art Collection, Vis-ability: Artworks from the QUT Art Collection has been conceived as a project to broaden understanding of the lived experiences of people who are blind or with low vision. Drawing on research in QUT's Creative Industries Faculty, Vis-ability: Artworks from the QUT Art Collection proposes alternative ways of engaging with the Art Collection, considering how technologies can deepen our understanding of vision and challenging our sight-driven experience of art. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience tactile models and audio descriptions, in conjunction with selected works on display. Vis-ability: Artworks from the QUT Art Collection aims to increase the visibility of the QUT Art Collection, while broadening audiences' perception of 'visual' art. It brings to light that which is unseen, and draws on different perspectives, positions and senses, to encourage different ways of seeing.
