Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to identify the relation between second-hand smoking (SHS) and levels of 4-aminobiphenyl and SHS and bladder cancer risk in nonsmokers. PubMed and Embase were explored to conduct two meta-analyses for the study, with focus on gender and the age of the participants. A random-effects model indicates higher levels of 4-ABP among nonsmokers exposed to SHS, however another model showed no evidence for an association between SHS and bladder cancer risk.
