Chilean Patagonia is confronted with several geohazards due to its tectonic setting, i.e., the presence of a subduction zone and numerous fault zones, e.g., the Liquiñe-Ofqui Fault Zone (LOFZ). This region has therefore been the subject of numerous paleoseismological studies. However, this study reveals that the seismic hazard is not limited to these large tectonic structures by identifying past fault activity near Coyhaique in Aysén Region. Mass-wasting deposits in Lago Pollux, a lake located ca. 15 km SW of this region's capital, were identified through analysis of reflection-seismic data and were linked to a simultaneous event recorded in nearby Lago Castor. Furthermore, a coeval ∼50-year-long catchment response was identified in Aysén Fjord based on the multiproxy analysis of a portion of a sediment core. Assuming that this widely recognized event was triggered by an earthquake, ground-motion modeling was applied to derive the most likely magnitude and source fault. The model showed that an earthquake rupture along a local fault, in the vicinity of Lago Pollux and Lago Castor, with a magnitude of 5.6–6.8, is the most likely scenario.

Familial renal glucosuria (FRG) is a rare renal tubular disorder characterized by increased urinary glucose excretion despite normoglycemia. It is most commonly caused by pathogenic variants in the solute carrier family V member 2 (SLC5A2) gene. This gene encodes the sodium–glucose cotransporter 2, crucial for glucose reabsorption. We report the case of a 44-year-old male referred to the endocrinology outpatient clinic for unexplained glucosuria despite well-controlled diabetes mellitus with metformin and gliclazide therapy. His main complaints were nocturia and an unintentional 5 kg weight loss in 1 year. A 24-h urinary collection revealed overt glucosuria (23.3 g/1.73 m2/24 h), generalized aminoaciduria, and increased uric acid excretion (fractional excretion: 6.4%). Whole-exome sequencing revealed a novel heterozygous c.469-1G>A likely pathogenic variant in the SLC5A2 gene. Specific analysis of the maturity-onset diabetes of the young type (MODY) gene panel showed no pathogenic variants in the hepatocyte nuclear factor-1A (HNF-1A; MODY3) nor in other MODY-associated genes. We assume that the association of glucosuria, aminoaciduria, and increased uric acid excretion can be explained by the combination of diabetes and the likely pathogenic SLC5A2 variant in this patient. In conclusion, we describe a well-controlled diabetic patient with FRG, associated with a novel heterozygous c.469-1G>A likely pathogenic variant in the SLC5A2 gene.

Abstract The scale of microplastic pollution in river sediments is gradually being elucidated through an increasing number of large-scale studies. Nevertheless, microplastic distribution within a riverbed – a crucial aspect for quantification – remains poorly understood. Here we evaluate in the meandering River Lys, Belgium, how microplastic concentration varies between different sedimentary environments within the riverbed. We find that microplastic abundance is about an order of magnitude higher towards the riverbanks compared to the thalweg, corresponding with river hydrodynamics. Moreover, organic-matter and mud content are robust predictors of microplastic concentrations, apart from the outer bends, where erosion into organic-rich, muddy floodplain sediments inhibits microplastic deposition. These results increase our understanding of microplastic distribution at the small riverbed scale. They are a crucial element to guide for future sampling efforts across diverse river systems, paving the way for normalization and better quantification of microplastics trapped by river sediments and in other aquatic environments.

Summary: Activating EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) mutations can be inhibited by specific tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), which have changed the landscape of lung cancer therapy. However, due to secondary mutations and bypass receptors, such as AXL (AXL receptor tyrosine kinase), drug resistance eventually emerges in most patients treated with the first-, second-, or third-generation TKIs (e.g., osimertinib). To inhibit AXL and resistance to osimertinib, we compare two anti-AXL drugs, an antibody (mAb654) and a TKI (bemcentinib). While no pair of osimertinib and an anti-AXL drug is able to prevent relapses, triplets combining osimertinib, cetuximab (an anti-EGFR antibody), and either anti-AXL drug are initially effective. However, longer monitoring uncovers superiority of the mAb654-containing triplet, possibly due to induction of receptor endocytosis, activation of immune mechanisms, or disabling intrinsic mutators. Hence, we constructed a bispecific antibody that engages both AXL and EGFR. When combined with osimertinib, the bispecific antibody consistently inhibits tumor relapses, which warrants clinical trials.

Aim The evidence regarding a potential role of food supplementation as an adjunct therapy in scar aftercare is limited. In this scoping review we aim to provide an overview of the possible beneficial role of supplementations in aftercare settings. Method After formulating the research question and accompanying key words, a comprehensive search for relevant publications was performed using PubMed and Web of Science. Two authors independently identified and checked each study against the inclusion criteria. All data was collected and summarized for further discussion. Results After screening, 11 studies were included in the qualitative synthesis. Four studies including human subjects showed a promising connection between scar improvement and supplementation of vitamin D, omega-3 fatty-acids or a Solanaceae-free diet and lower omega-6 fatty-acid intake. Most of the studies were performed on in-vitro models. Preliminary evidence confirmed the beneficial role of vitamin D. Curcumin- and quercetin-supplementation were linked to decreased fibroblast proliferation. Vitamin C enhanced collagen production in healthy as well as keloidal dermal fibroblasts. Chitin stimulated cell-proliferation in human fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Conclusion The findings suggest early potential benefits of additional food supplementation in scar management for scars but provide no clear evidence. To establish guidelines or gather more evidence on food supplementation, studies involving human subjects (in vivo) are essential. The intricacies associated with nutritional studies in vivo present multifaceted challenges. It should be emphasized that substantial additional evidence is required before aspects such as timing and dosage of supplementation could be addressed for clinical application. Lay Summary Aim: This scoping review looks at whether taking food supplements might help with scar care alongside standard scar management following burn injury. Little information is thought to be available on this subject. An up-to-date review of the literature was undertaken to assimilate the body of evidence and determine if a consensus could be drawn. Method: A specific research question was designed and search conducted in scientific databases like PubMed and Web of Science. Two of our team members carefully selected and reviewed each study to determine which studies met the inclusion or exclusion criteria. All studies that met the inclusion criteria were then reviewed and the information collated to enable conclusions to be drawn. Results: Eleven studies met the inclusion criteria and were used to formulate the conclusions drawn. Four studies showed that taking vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, a diet without certain vegetables (Solanaceae), and eating less omega-6 fatty acids might help improve scars. It is important to note that most studies (seven out of 11) were carried out in a laboratory and not with real people. These lab studies showed that vitamin D might be helpful. Supplements like curcumin and quercetin seemed to slow down the growth of skin cells like fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Vitamin C aided collagen synthesis, which is important for healthy skin, in both normal and keloid scar cells. Another substance, chitin, was also found to help skin cells and keratinocytes grow better. Conclusion: Our findings point to some early possible benefits of taking extra nutrient supplements for managing scars but do not provide clear evidence. More research is required to enable the development of supplement recommendation and guidelines to be produced. Future research should focus on human trials but do keep in mind that carrying out supplement studies with people is more complicated. The evidence provided by this scoping review is insufficient to recommend the intake of any supplements or the imposition of dietary restrictions for the purpose of managing scars.

Abstract Purpose This study aimed to investigate the difference in absolute and fat free mass (FFM)-adjusted resting energy expenditure (mREE) and body composition (body weight, fat mass (FM), FFM) between breast cancer survivors (BCs) and controls. Correlations with body composition were analyzed. We examined if survival year, or being metabolically dysfunctional were predictive variables. Methods A cross-sectional analysis was conducted on 32 BCs ≤5 years post treatment and 36 healthy controls. Indirect calorimetry measured absolute mREE. Body composition was determined by BOD POD. FFM-adjusted mREE was calculated (mREE/FFM). The Harris-Benedict equation was used to predict REE and determine hyper−/hypometabolism (mREE/pREE). The database of the multidisciplinary breast clinic of the University Hospital of Antwerp was consulted for survival year and metabolic dysfunctions. Results BCs have similar absolute mREE and greater FFM-adjusted mREE compared to controls. Absolute mREE and body composition between BCs differed; adjusted mREE was similar. FFM correlated significantly with absolute mREE in BCs. A significant interaction term was found between survival year and FM for absolute mREE. Conclusion BCs have similar absolute mREE, but higher FFM-adjusted mREE. Differences in body composition between BCs are suggested to cause inter-individual variations. We suggest that increased FFM-adjusted mREE is caused by metabolic stress related to cancer/treatment. Accurate measurement of REE and body composition is advised when adapting nutritional strategies, especially in patients at risk for developing metabolic dysfunctions.

IntroductionSarcoidosis is a multi-system inflammatory disease of unknown origin with heterogeneous clinical manifestations varying from a single organ non-caseating granuloma site to chronic systemic inflammation and fibrosis. Gene expression studies have suggested several genes and pathways implicated in the pathogenesis of sarcoidosis, however, due to differences in study design and variable statistical approaches, results were frequently not reproducible or concordant. Therefore, meta-analysis of sarcoidosis gene-expression datasets is of great importance to robustly establish differentially expressed genes and signalling pathways.MethodsWe performed meta-analysis on 22 published gene-expression studies on sarcoidosis. Datasets were analysed systematically using same statistical cut-offs. Differentially expressed genes were identified by pooling of p-values using Edgington’s method and analysed for pathways using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis software.ResultsA consistent and significant signature of novel and well-known genes was identified, those collectively implicated both type I and type II interferon mediated signalling pathways in sarcoidosis. In silico functional analysis showed consistent downregulation of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 signalling, whereas cytokines like interferons and transcription factor STAT1 were upregulated. Furthermore, we analysed affected tissues to detect differentially expressed genes likely to be involved in granuloma biology. This revealed that matrix metallopeptidase 12 was exclusively upregulated in affected tissues, suggesting a crucial role in disease pathogenesis.DiscussionOur analysis provides a concise gene signature in sarcoidosis and expands our knowledge about the pathogenesis. Our results are of importance to improve current diagnostic approaches and monitoring strategies as well as in the development of targeted therapeutics.

Abstract Background Nutritional support is often based on predicted resting energy expenditure (REE). In patients, predictions seem invalid. Indirect calorimetry is the gold standard for measuring EE. For assessments over longer periods (up to days), room calorimeters are used. Their design makes their use cumbersome, and warrants improvements to increase utility. Current study aims to compare data on momentary EE, obtained by a basic respiration room vs. classical ventilated hood. The objective is to compare results of the basic room and to determine its 1)reliability for measuring EE and 2)sensitivity for minute changes in activity. Methods Two protocols (P1; P2)(n = 62; 25 men/37 women) were applied. When measured by hood, participants in both protocols were in complete rest (supine position). When assessed by room, participants in P1 were instructed to stay half-seated while performing light desk work; in P2 participants were in complete rest mimicking hood conditions. The Omnical calorimeter operated both modalities. Following data were collected/calculated: Oxygen uptake ( $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ O2(ml/min)), carbon dioxide production ( $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ CO2ml/min), 24h_EE (kcal/min), and respiratory exchange ratio (RER). Statistical analyses were done between modalities and between protocols. The agreement between 24h_EE, $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ O2 and $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ CO2 obtained by both modalities was investigated by linear regression. Reliability analysis on 24h_EE determined ICC. Results No significant differences were found for 24h_EE and $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ O2. $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ CO2 significantly differed in P1 + P2, and P2 (hood > room). RER was significantly different (hood > room) for P1 + P2 and both protocols individually. Reliability of 24h_EE between modalities was high. Modality-specific results were not different between protocols. Discussion/conclusion The room is valid for assessing momentary EE. Minute changes in activity lead to a non-significant increase in EE and significant increase in RER. The significant difference in $$\dot{\mathrm{V}}$$ V ˙ CO2 for hood might be related to perceived comfort. More research is necessary on determinants of RER, type (intensity) of activity, and restlessness. The design of the room facilitates metabolic measurements in research, with promising results for future clinical use.

The need for a more efficient use of the subsurface in tackling a variety of issues is becoming more apparent, certainly in densely populated regions. For a better incorporation of geological knowledge into policy making, e.g., related to underground space use, raw materials management and (deep) subsurface planning for technologies such as geothermal energy, it is essential to develop user-friendly tools. These can translate geological information to field applications, which can be understood by policy officers, engineers, architects, etc. In Flanders (Belgium), such tools are developed and published on an open platform. Even though many tools are already available based on extensive 3D geological models, advances can still be made towards voxel models and 2D maps combining information for specific purposes.

Abstract Background Over half of the European population aged minimum 65 years presents with at least two chronic diseases. Attention towards these diseases exhibits disparities, with limited primary care physician (PCP) attention for osteoporosis. This was confirmed in a previous integrated osteoporosis care (IOC) project in which notable difficulties to enlist PCPs arose. Consequently, this study was initiated in Flemish PCPs for in-depth analysis of underlying mechanisms hampering PCPs to fully commit to osteoporosis care. Methods A qualitative Electronic Medical Record (EMR)-facilitated clinical reasoning study was conducted. A semi-structured interview guide was employed to guide PCPs from reflections on their own patients to broader views regarding osteoporosis care. An inductive thematic analysis was performed using NVivo 12. Results Thirteen PCPs were interviewed. They stated that osteoporosis patients often had complex (medical) profiles. PCPs emphasised the ongoing necessity for prioritisation within this context. This leads to a competition for PCP attention during consultations at three levels: i. between acute versus preventive care; ii. between primary fracture prevention and other preventive services and iii. between secondary fracture prevention and other preventive services; spanning eight areas of competition: disease significance, perceived impact, PCP awareness, the patient agenda, PCP competence, PCP support, perceived patient burden, and efficiency of care provision. Applicability of these areas of competition differed between levels. Conclusion The intricate context in which PCPs operate, creates a competition for PCP attention leading to a lack of attention for fracture prevention. To preserve efforts in fracture prevention, areas of competition should be systematically addressed. Trial registration Approval for the study has been provided by the Ghent University Hospital Ethics Committee (BC-09797).

Abstract Objective: To investigate whether food literacy competencies and diet quality vary between 16-to-24-year-olds vegans, lacto-ovo vegetarians, pescatarians, flexitarians and omnivores and to assess whether food literacy is associated with diet quality. Design: Cross-sectional study. Food literacy (general nutrition knowledge, critical nutrition literacy and food skills) and diet quality were measured using an electronic questionnaire. Setting: Southern Norway, September 2021 – March 2022. Participants: Healthy 16–24-year-olds (n 165). Results: Overall, the mean general nutrition knowledge score was moderate (48·0 out of 67·0); the lowest mean score was found in omnivores and the highest in flexitarians (45·6 v. 51·5) (P = 0·034). The mean score of critical nutrition literacy was also moderate (3·7 out of 5·0); vegans showed higher scores compared to other dietary practices (P = 0·018). No difference was observed in food skills between the different dietary practices. The overall median diet quality score was 46·0 out of 80·0, lowest in omnivores and highest in vegans (42·0 v. 56·0) (P =< 0·001). In multivariate regression analyses, general nutrition knowledge, food skills and vegan dietary practice were significantly associated with higher diet quality. Conclusions: We found moderate levels of food literacy across all dietary practices. The food literacy competencies, general nutrition knowledge and food skills were associated with higher diet quality in our sample. Omnivores showed both the lowest general nutrition knowledge level and lowest diet quality scores. In contrast, both flexitarians and vegans scored highest on general nutrition knowledge and diet quality scores, despite being one of the less restrictive and one of the strictest plant-based dietary practices, respectively.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder characterized by repetitive episodes of partial or complete obstruction of the upper airway during sleep. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a method used as a first-line treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, intolerance and resistance to CPAP can limit its long-term effectiveness. Alternative treatments are available, such as Mandibular Advancement Devices (MADs), positional therapy, upper airway surgery, and maxillomandibular osteotomy. However, often less efficient in reducing the apnea-hypopnea index, the higher tolerance of and compliance to alternative treatment has resulted in the adequate treatment of OSA in CPAP-intolerant patients. This paper describes the protocol of a prospective single-center cohort study including adult patients with moderate to severe OSA (15 events/h ≤ apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) < 65 events/h) that failed to comply with CPAP therapy. Selected patients will be invited to the clinic to explore alternative treatment options where DISE will be a first step in further identifying upper airway collapse during sleep. By exploring alternative treatment options in CPAP-intolerant patients and systematically documenting their treatment paths, an algorithm can be defined to better guide patients towards personalized treatment for OSA. The follow-up is aimed at 5 years with an inclusion of 170 patients per year, including a drop-out rate of 15%. By leveraging a real-world database, this study aims to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, facilitating the development of evidence-based guidelines and personalized treatment algorithms for CPAP-intolerant patients.

This paper investigates a trajectory of forty years of evolving practices in grassroots community development in southwestern Ontario. We present it as a case study that yields fresh perspectives in socially transformative ways of knowing and discovering. In doing so, we aim to elucidate traditions in adult education and social transformation that have 'flown under the radar.' Our analysis is based on hermeneutic analysis of written sources. Taking a practice theory perspective, we explore the "practice architectures," i.e. the cultural-discursive arrangements, material-economic arrangements, as well as social-political arrangements that enable or constrain the learning of and participation in particular practices that contribute to social innovation. Our findings suggest that the application of a practice theory framework to the complex and often unarticulated work of community development aids in bringing to light the creative ways in which the associated practices emerge, get shaped and acquired. We will conclude by discussing implications for adult learning and community development.

Abstract The documentation and understanding of variations in the Earth's magnetic field through time is fundamental for several disciplines, but current geomagnetic models rely on datasets heavily biased toward the mid‐ and high northern latitudes. The African continent and surrounding islands and oceans are particularly underrepresented. Here, we present a new record of paleo‐secular variation (PSV) of the inclinations over the last 23 ka from Lake Chala, situated at 3°S near Mt Kilimanjaro in eastern equatorial Africa. This groundwater‐fed crater lake is characterized by a high sedimentation rate (ca. 1 cm/10 years) and a particularly well‐constrained age model based on 210Pb and 14C dating. The magnetic mineralogy of the sediments is tested with rock magnetic analyses. The Lake Chala inclination record shows four highs and lows over 20 ka and compares well with that of Lake Malawi (10°S) between 20 and 16.2 ka, and from 9.8 to 2.6 ka. This record is linked to PSV records at Lakes Victoria and Malawi using a sequence slotting technique to generate a composite PSV model for east Africa. Analyzed at best‐possible resolutions up to 200 years, the Lake Chala PSV record not only represents an important contribution to improve our understanding of local and global features of the Earth's magnetic field. It also expands the utility of paleomagnetism as a key tool for dating and correlation both for archeological sites throughout East Africa and the many volcanoes, active or dormant, of the East African Rift System.

OBJECTIVES: To examine whether social determinants of health (SDH) factors are associated with time to diagnosis, treatment selection, and time to recurrent surgical intervention in idiopathic subglottic stenosis (iSGS) patients. METHODS: Adult patients with diagnosed iSGS were recruited prospectively (2015-2017) via clinical providers as part of the North American Airway Collaborative (NoAAC) and via an online iSGS support community on Facebook. Patient-specific SDH factors included highest educational attainment (self-reported), median household income (matched from home zip code via U.S. Census data), and number of close friends (self-reported) as a measure of social support. Main outcomes of interest were time to disease diagnosis (years from symptom onset), treatment selection (endoscopic dilation [ED] vs cricotracheal resection [CTR] vs endoscopic resection with adjuvant medical therapy [ERMT]), and time to recurrent surgical intervention (number of days from initial surgical procedure) as a surrogate for disease recurrence. RESULTS: The total 810 participants were 98.5% female, 97.2% Caucasian, and had a median age of 50 years (IQR, 43-58). The cohort had a median household income of $62 307 (IQR, $50 345-$79 773), a median of 7 close friends (IQR, 4-10), and 64.7% of patients completed college or graduate school. Education, income, and number of friends were not associated with time to diagnosis via multivariable linear regression modeling. Univariable multinominal logistic regression demonstrated an association between education and income for selecting ED versus ERMT, but no associations were noted for CTR. No associations were noted for time to recurrent surgical procedure via Kaplan Meier modeling and Cox proportional hazards regression. CONCLUSIONS: Patient education, income, and social support were not associated with time to diagnosis or time to disease recurrence. This suggests additional patient, procedure, or disease-specific factors contribute to the observed variations in iSGS surgical outcomes.

Background: Legal cases and research have shown that due to suggestive therapeutic interventions, people can start to remember abuse that they never experienced. Some of these people eventually retract their claims of abuse. This study examined the memory reports of self-defined retractors of abuse and the prevalence of nonbelieved memories. Method: In this study, a retrospective survey method was used to investigate 56 individuals who had retracted their claims of abuse. We examined details, plausibility, beliefs, and recollections of the abuse before and after retraction, as well as the reasons for withdrawing their belief and the outcomes of both recovered and retracted memories. Results: Twenty-four participants took significantly longer to retract the memories than to initially recover them. The belief in the occurrence of the abusive event and personal plausibility scores were significantly lower after the retraction, whereas the recollection scores were similar before and after the retraction. The main reason for withdrawing the belief in the abuse-related memory was the emergence of external evidence putting doubt on the retractors’ claims. After the withdrawal of the memories, some retractors (n = 17, 70.83%, 95% CI [52.6%, 0.89%]) believed that they gained more benefits (e.g., giving them a new chance to re-build their lives and to establish new relationships with others). Conclusion: While the reliability of retractors’ reports is unclear, these findings support related work on retractor memory reports and highlight the presence of nonbelieved memories within retractors’ memory reports.

BackgroundFew effective health interventions transition from smaller efficacy or effectiveness studies to real-world implementation at scale, representing a gap between evidence and practice. Recognising this, we have developed Nutrition Now – a tailored digital resource building on four efficacious dietary interventions, aiming to improve nutrition in the important first 1,000 days of life. Nutrition Now targets and guides expectant parents and parents of 0–2 year olds, serves as a reliable source of evidence-based information for midwives and public health nurses at maternal and child healthcare (MCH) centres, and offers pedagogical tools for early childhood education and care (ECEC) staff. The aim of this study is to implement Nutrition Now at scale and evaluate the impact of different sets of multifaceted implementation strategies on implementation outcomes.MethodsA quasi-experimental design with three study arms will be used, providing either low, medium or high implementation support, when rolled out in 50 municipalities in 2 counties in Norway. Nutrition Now will be implemented in MCH and ECEC settings and made available to expectant parents and parents of 0–2 year olds through social media and MCH. The implementation support builds on strategies described in the Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change (ERIC) implementation framework and is informed by dialogues with stakeholders. Impact of the different degree of implementation support will be assessed by examining reach, adoption, fidelity, and sustainability using usage data generated from the Nutrition Now resource, publicly available municipal data and qualitative interviews with MCH and ECEC staff.DiscussionNutrition Now Phase 2 will break new ground by scaling up successively delivered and complementary dietary interventions in the first 1,000 days of life in a real-life context. The project also seeks to identify what level of implementation support is most effective when implementing digital, scalable, evidence-based early-life nutrition interventions in community settings. The project will inform implementation research and provide knowledge about effective implementation strategies to be used in a national scale-up of Nutrition Now.Trial registrationThe study is registered prospectively (submitted 14/06/2022, registration date: 19/06/2022) in the International Standard Randomised Controlled Trial Number registry (ISRCTN): reg. Introduction: Internet-delivered psychotherapy is often considered to be a promising way to extend mental healthcare services around the world. Research findings that have emerged over the past two decades have strengthened this claim. However, very little is known about the usage of internet-delivered psychotherapy in real-life circumstances. Methods: The current study explored the real-life usage of depressiehulp.be, a publicly available online platform for depression that offers pure self-help, online guided self-help, and blended treatment for depression in Flanders, Belgium, using data collected from 2656 participants between May 2018 and May 2022. Results: Both duration of engagement with the online platform and number of exercises completed increased with increasing levels of therapist guidance. Findings also showed a particular pattern of engagement for each of the online treatments. Overall, participants completed most exercises during the first days of treatment. However, participants using pure online self-help showed the fastest decrease of engagement over time, with most dropping out after completing a few exercises, and more than half of all participants who enrolled in the self-help programme did not even begin the programme. In both guided and blended treatment, participants tended to show higher levels of engagement with the online platform. In each treatment modality, a relatively small but notable group of participants showed high levels of engagement. There was no relationship between severity of depression and duration of engagement. Conclusions: The current study demonstrates the importance of therapist support in online interventions and offers additional insights into how, and to what extent, online platforms are used. Future research should explore clinical impact and policy implications.
