PURPOSE Cancer pathology reports have traditionally been narrative with limited reliable information. In high-income countries, synoptic format reporting has gradually been introduced to improve patient care and cancer registry input. We posited that introduction of synoptic style reporting was possible in Nicaragua and could serve as a model for other low- and middle-income countries. MATERIALS AND METHODS The Department of Pathology, Hospital Escuela Oscar Danilo Rosales Argüello (HEODRA), León, Nicaragua, decided to introduce and implement synoptic reporting for all cancer cases beginning in 2018. All 10,012 histopathologic case reports issued by the department from January 1, 2018, through June 30, 2020, were reviewed. After excluding benign lesions, recurrent or metastatic tumors, endometrial biopsies or curettage, and primary cytologic specimens, 724 cases met the criteria for synoptic style reporting. The narrative format, previously used for all cases, was intentionally abandoned. RESULTS Of the 10,012 reports reviewed at HEODRA during the study period, synoptic-style reporting was used for all 724 cancer cases that met criteria for inclusion in the study. In addition, all elements were listed in the required order. Narrative format of reporting was not used for any of the reports. CONCLUSION Our experience in Nicaragua has shown that establishing synoptic-style cancer pathology reporting is achievable in a low- or middle-income country. Just as in high-income countries, a dedicated collaborative step-by-step conversion to synoptic reporting can lead to improvement in cancer patient care and quality of data for population-based registries.

The Public Administration and the private developer seek to have a prior knowledge of the costs of any building. There are numerous methodologies in the literature that allow the real estate valuation of a property, but it has always been done for urban houses in large or medium-sized cities. This research proposes the use of Artificial Intelligence for the study of rustic houses in small cities such as Caceres (Spain). The research proposes a procedure of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to achieve on the one hand, to estimate, through an automatic method, the construction cost of rustic houses and, on the other hand, to identify the most determining attributes in its final price and its marginal weight. The designed ANN establishes as more influential variables in the final price of the property the wet spaces (bathrooms and kitchen), the constructed surface and the age in this order, differentiating themselves from the most determining variables in the price of urban houses in large or medium-sized cities that are the constructed surface and its location. La Administración Pública y el promotor privado buscan tener un conocimiento previo de los costes de cualquier edificación. Existen en la literatura numerosas metodologías que permiten realizar la valoración de un inmueble, pero siempre se ha realizado para viviendas urbanas en ciudades grandes o medianas. Esta investigación propone el uso de Inteligencia Artificial para el estudio de viviendas rústicas en pequeñas ciudades como la de Cáceres (España). La investigación propone un procedimiento de Redes Neuronales Artificiales (RNA) para conseguir por un lado estimar a través de un método automático el coste de construcción de la vivienda rústica y por otro, identificar los atributos más determinantes en su precio final. La RNA diseñada establece como variables más influyentes en el precio final del inmueble los espacios húmedos (baños y cocina), la superficie construida y la antigüedad por este orden, diferenciándose de las variables más determinantes en el precio de las viviendas urbanas en grandes o medianas ciudades que son la superficie construida y su ubicación.

El presente artículo trata sobre los trabajos realizados en estos últimos años en el ámbito de la República romana tardía en la actual Comunidad Foral de Navarra, como continuación a los estudios efectuados en el I y II Coloquio de Historia Antigua de Navarra por nosotros mismos y por J. Andreu y Á. A. Jordán. El eje de nuestro escrito es la figura de Cn. Pompeyo Magno (cos. I 70 a. C.), fundador de la ciudad de Pamplona, a la que dio su nombre. En él se repasan diversas cuestiones sobre este personaje y su conexión con el territorio actualmente navarro. This article is about the work done in recent years in the field of the Late Roman Republic in Navarra, as a continuation of studies presented in the I and II Colloquium in Ancient History of this territory by ourselves and also by J. Andreu and Á. A. Jordan. The focus of this paper is the figure of Pompey the Great (cos. I 70 BC), founder of the city of Pamplona, to which he gave his name. We review the new theories on various points connected with this person and with Navarra.
