The evaluation of technological use, as well as its research is important to be able to make predictions about aspects that promote it, therefore, the objective of this research is the validation of a scale of technological use by teachers at a higher level. A sample of 69 teachers belonging to public and private universities in northwestern Mexico was used, and the Tuapanta et al. (2017) scale were adapted and validated. During the adaptation of the instrument, the back-translation technique was used; for construct validity, exploratory factor analysis was used. The results yielded a unidimensional solution which was subjected to a confirmatory factor analysis, which confirmed the structure with adequate practical and population fit indices; finally, internal consistency was analyzed using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, yielding a satisfactory score on the final scale. It is concluded that the adapted version of the scale is valid and reliable for the evaluation of the reality of higher education teachers in Mexico. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOMETRICS , *FACTOR structure , *TEST validity , *EMPLOYEE services , *DISILLUSIONMENT - Abstract
Introduction/objectives: Multiple instruments to assess burnout syndrome in employees working in service occupations exist. These instruments have methodological limitations for understanding the phenomenon of burnout in employees who are in professions not related to service to others. The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish Burnout Inventory-Professional Disenchantment version (SBI-PD), in a Colombian sample, which can then be used in employees working in any sector of the economy. Methods: A psychometric validation study with 2,991 multi-occupational employees was developed. Analyses included CAF, sex invariance, convergent and discriminant validity, and internal consistency analyses. Results: The results provide evidence of the factorial structure of the instrument, sex invariance, convergent and discriminant validity, and reliability. Discussion: The SBI-PD version has excellent psychometric properties and can be used in Colombia with employees working in any occupation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This study presents the validation of the Differentiation of Self Inventory for Adolescents by Knauth and Skowron (2004). Differentiation of self, a concept used by Bowen's family systems theory, is defined as the capacity for emotional self-regulation and intimacy with others. A total of 1987 participants between the ages of 14 and 21 participated in the study. The results of the EFA (sample 1; n=546) do not confirm the four-factor structure of the original instrument. Two subscales appear more clearly reflected (Emotional reactivity, RE, and Emotional cutoff, CE) in the item groupings. Considering these results together with the theory that supports the construct, it was used sample 2, in which we sought to evaluate, through a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA; n=1441), the adjustment of a S-DSI proposal for Spanish adolescents composed of 2 subscales (RE and CE), with 10 items in each of them. Results supported this solution, which is consistent with the validation proposal of this same scale in its version for Spanish adults (Rodríguez-González et al., 2015). Limitations, theoretical implications, and future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOMETRICS , *CONFIRMATORY factor analysis , *MEXICANS , *LIFE satisfaction , *TEST validity , *FIVE-factor model of personality , *STUDENT adjustment - Abstract
Introduction Hardy personality construct as proposed by Kobasa is defined by three dimensions: engagement, control, and challenge. It was Originally designed to assess Hardy personality (HPA) in work environment. HPA has been accepted and validated in different Latin American countries, nonetheless, in Mexico, its psychometric properties haven't been validated. Aim: To analyze psychometric properties of HPA in Mexican adults. Methodology: A non-randomized sample of 357 adults participated and reported being healthy. HPA was adapted to face ordinary life. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis allowed to estimate three models, the one that showed better adjustment of fit was the trifactorial (engagement, control, and challenge) with a second-order factor (hardy personality), internal consistency of HPA was acceptable and construct validity indicated positive correlations in HPA dimensions with life satisfaction, optimism, and general efficacy, and negative correlations with axiety and social disfunction. Conclusions: Results indicated that HPA has satisfactory psychometric properties and that can be used to assess hardy personality (engagement, control, and challenge) in Mexican adults. Today it seems as if each individual is responsible for choosing his/her mate. Historically, this process has been mainly regulated by culture, family and society, which make the rules and norms, and defines suitable behaviors in the mate selection process. This research aimed at constructing a scale to analyze if people consider themselves responsible for the choice of their partner and to what extent. A qualitative study using ATLAS.ti content analysis resulted in different theoretical factors. A second study sought to corroborate the theoretical factors using a principal component analysis, determining the following factors: Destiny-Predestination, Powerful Microcosm, and Internal Control factor, which explain 50.94% of the variance with 17 items. The instrument shows that the locus of control in mate choice is not a continuum that moves between internality and externality but, rather, it is multidimensional.

The appropriate measurement of how emotions affects eating is an important clue to guide health strategies in terms of prevention of eating disorders and obesity. The aim of the present study was to validate an instrument to measure the influence of emotions on the eating motivation, from the construction to its validation. 6 judges experts in psychology participated in the construction, and 416 Mexican adults participated (56 % women, 44 % men, age M = 39.43 years, SD = 12.56). Reliability was obtained through Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.906. The construct validity was confirmed through the factorial analysis of principal components with varimax rotation, from which 4 factors were obtained that explain 50.36% of the variance, with a KMO of 0.888, an X2 value of the Bartlett test of 4418.36 p < 0.001. The limitations of the study were those of a regionalization of the sample, so it is suggested to replicate the study with other populations. This scale showed good psychometric properties to measure the influence of emotions on the motivation of the intake. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Positive parenting is characterized by promoting healthy relationships in the family based on parental responsibility to ensure children's rights and optimize their potential development and well-being. Given the importance of this topic for the good development of children, it is essential to have adequate instruments for its evaluation. Objective: to adapt to and validate in the Argentine population a short version of the Positive Parenting Scale (E2p) by Gómez and Muñoz (2014). Method: the scale was administered to a sample of 546 fathers and mothers (age: M = 38.54; SD = 6.37). The functioning of the items was studied, confirmatory factor analyses were carried out to establish whether the factor structure of the short form remained stable with respect to the complete form, and the internal consistency of the test was analized. Results: the proposed factorial model was tested through a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with the unweighted least squares (ULS) method, which indicated a very satisfactory fit of the abbreviated model. The internal consistency of the test was adequate for the full scale and dimensions. Conclusions: finally, the findings, limitations and future lines of research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Patient behavior plays a fundamental role in the search for medical attention including diagnosis and treatment, as well as in physical, psychological and social consequences for the patient. This is especially important when it comes to illnesses that require close continuous monitoring such as the case of haematological diseases. The evaluation behavior in the face of illness allows for the design of multidisciplinary interventions aimed to the psychological adaptation to the disease, increased therapeutic adherence and less sequels and administration of health care resources. Thus it is important to develop valid and reliable measurement instruments for these purposes. One such instrument is the Behavioral Responses to Illness Questionnaire. The aim of the present study was to adapt and psychometrically validate this instrument for the Mexican population through exploratory factorial analysis. Expert and non-expert judges for the validation of content, and 239 haematological patients from a large public hospital in Mexico City participated. Results revealed a structure of fifteen items and four factors, with acceptable reliability. It is concluded that the Behavioral Responses to Illness Questionnaire for haematological patients is an applicable measure. However, it is recommended to further carry out a thorough review of the items, and more psychometric validation research with this target population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Wheelchair basketball is one of the adapted sports with higher significance worldwide, being the shoulder pain a common problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the Shoulder Pain Index for Wheelchair Basketball (SPI-WB) players. A convenience sample of WB players (N=17) belonging to the Spanish preselection male national team, with an age range between 16 to 43 years, was studied. Data were gathered during a training camp, where shoulder pain (SP) and range of motion (ROM) were evaluated. After descriptive analysis, Spearman correlation coeffi- cient was used to establish correlations of shoulder pain according to ROM per player, while Cronbach's Alpha coefficient and intraclass correlation (ICC) were used to assess test-retest reliability. The level of significance was set at p≤ 0.05. SP was evident in 52.9% of the sample studied, with pain in activities of daily living (ADLs, as washing back and sleeping) and selected sport skills (SS, as shooting and rebounding). The designed questionnaire presented adequate validity, with significant inverse correlation between SP and ROM. For reliability, adequate α Cronbach scores were found SPI-WB (α= 0.98), while ICC was significant (r=0.98, p<0.05). The SPI-WB appears as a reliable and valid instrument to assess pain in this population, so it can be a used as a complementary tool for athletes´ clinical screening. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction. Resilience is an adaptation resource for coping with adversity or high risk, in this case, breast cancer diagnosis. The SV-RES Resilience Scale, created in Chile, is a valid, reliable measure for evaluating healthy behaviors in adversity and could be useful for evaluating resources available to women with breast cancer diagnosis in Mexico. Objective. To obtain the psychometric properties of the SV-RES Resilience Scale in Mexican women with breast cancer. Method. 114 women with breast cancer attending a cancer care center were included. They answered the self-administered SV-RES Resilience Scale comprising three resources: "I am," "I have," and "I can." The dimensions of the scale were identified through an exploratory factor analysis. Results. The scale presented overall internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha of .974), with seven dimensions (identity, satisfaction, links, networks, internal strength, self-efficacy, and affectivity/reciprocity) that accounted for 72.75% of the variance. Discussion and conclusion. The SV-RES scale is a valid, reliable measure for assessing resilience in Mexican women with breast cancer. Since it is a short, self-administered, and reliable instrument, it is useful for clinical practice and research in similar populations to identify the resources people have for coping with their medical conditions. Objective: Perform the psychometric validation of the Inventory of Stressor Institutional Characteristics. Method: Instrumental study developed through the application of the Inventory of Stressor Institutional Characteristics to 300 students of the Pedagogical University of Durango, Durango, Mexico; of these students 32% are male and 68% female, the minimum age is 19 years and the maximum of 67, with the average being 29 years of age, and 75% were studying at the time the degree and the remaining 25% the masters or doctorate. Results: A short version of the inventory was built, which obtained a reliability level of .71 in Cronbach's alpha; in the analysis of internal consistency, all the items correlated positively (with a level of significance of p <.001) with the overall score obtained by each respondent; exploratory factor analysis reports two components that explain 40% of the total variance and the confirmatory factor analysis shows a good adjustment to two factors (X2 = 16.70, RMSEA = 0.000, X2 / df = 0.49). Conclusion: Institutional characteristics that generate stress, in school institutions, is one of the least researched areas ; one of the main reasons is the lack of instruments that allow us to measure how various situational variables influence the assessment that the subject makes of the demands to consider them stressors. In this sense, this short version of the ICIE becomes a valid option for this type of studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Concurrently, the amount of research dedicated to mitigating the effects of environmental issues is increasing. Environmental Education has emerged as one of the most promising research fields in preventing and addressing environmental problems. Nevertheless, it is important to note that environmental literacy is not limited by age, education level, or occupation, particularly in the Indonesian context. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of an environmental literacy questionnaire for secondary school students. The sample consisted of 1,021 students from both public and private schools in Indonesia, ranging from grades 7-9. A three-factor model, including environmental consciousness, environmental anxiety, and environmental awareness, was validated using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Model fit was assessed using a variety of fit indices, such as the chi-squared test, comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI), Good-Fit Index (GFI), root mean square approximation error (RMSEA), standardized root mean square residual (SRMR), and KMO index. Cronbach Alpha and McDonald's Omega were used to evaluate the reliability of the three factors, with values ranging from 0.66 to 0.78 and 0.68 to 0.79, respectively. The results indicate that the environmental literacy questionnaire is a reliable and valid tool for assessing the environmental literacy of secondary school students in the Indonesian context., Al mismo tiempo, la cantidad de estudios sobre la mitigación de los efectos de los problemas ambientales está creciendo.

Key to guaranteeing the fundamental human rights of freedom of expression and information is the development of media competence, particularly in schools. Training teachers in the area of media competence is particularly important for developing these skills in the broader citizenry. In order to provide educators and educational policymakers with a useful diagnostic tool, we have designed a self-perception questionnaire. The questionnaire was applied to a sample of Peruvian education students (N = 501). On the one hand, the results confirm the construct's coherence, validity and instrumental reliability. On the other hand, they allow us to propose a theoretically based update to the way in which this construct is interpreted and applied, confirming the multidimensionality of media competence. Finally, we use this empirical evidence to discuss the integral, transversal and ecological status of media competence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Migrant populations are at increased risk for exposure to traumatic life events. Presently, there are no reliable and valid screening instruments for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among Filipino migrant workers, a population that numbers over 2.3 million worldwide. This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5) in a sample of female Filipino migrant workers in Macao (SAR), China, in two studies. The first examined the reliability (internal and test-retest), convergent validity (with depression, anxiety, and rumination), and discriminant validity (with pain and social support) in a sample of 131 participants. The second study established criterion validity of the PCL-5 using the PTSD module of the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI), delivered by a female Filipino psychologist as the criterion, in a sample of 100 participants. Results indicated excellent internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.95) and moderate 10-day test-retest reliability (ρ = 0.58, p <.001). PCL-5 scores correlated strongly with scores on measures of depression (ρ = 0.71, p <.001), anxiety (ρ = 0.61, p <.001), and rumination (ρ = 0.68, p <.001), supporting convergent validity. Discriminant validity was demonstrated by a weaker association with scores on measures of pain (ρ = 0.33, p <.001) and social support (ρ = −0.11, p =.22). The diagnostic accuracy of the scale was good (AUC = 0.87). The optimal cutoff score of 25 optimized sensitivity (0.89) while maintaining adequate specificity (0.73), with a weighted Kappa of κ[1]) = 0.82. Our results demonstrated that the PCL-5 is a reliable and valid screening instrument for use among female Filipino migrant workers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of this study was to provide evidence of construct validity, criterion validity, and internal consistency of an instrument that measures organizational commitment. First, an exercise with natural semantic networks was developed to get a pool of items, which were subsequently validated by judges. The second study was a first test of the instrument with 40 items, in a sample of 140 workers of a public university in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The results of the second study identify four factors with adequate levels of reliability. For the third study, the final instrument composed of 25 items was answered by 230 workers of a second public university, identifying three factors (affective, moral and identification with goals and values) with reliability indexes of a of .86 to .89. These factors are theoretically consistent. We discuss possible uses, scope and limitations of the final instrument. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper gathers firstly, the study of psychometric validation of the Scale of Harmonic Development (SHD) (Abellán, 2011). 218 children between the ages of 0-12 years were participated in the study. The exploratory factorial analysis showed the one-dimensional nature of the scale as a whole and all its subscales; as well as the internal consistency of the measurements and the adequacy of the items, revealing the scale's usefulness as a screening test for prevention of children's development. Secondly, a first approach to the scale's validation process is presented in this dissertation, for which another 67 six-year-old children were evaluated. The concurrent validation with the scales IDB (Fundació Catalana per a la Síndrome de Down, 1998) and BLOC Screening (Puyuelo, Renom, Selanas & Wiig, 2002) conducted through analysis of correlations provided contradictory data that will be contrasted in future studies with a broader sample. - Abstract
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Adolescent suicide is a major public health issue, and early and accurate detection is of great concern. There are many reliable instruments for this purpose, such as the Columbia-Suicide severity rating scale (C-SSRS), but no validation exists for Spanish speaking Latin American adolescents. Objetive: To assess psychometric properties and cut-off scores of the C-SSRS in Spanish speaking adolescents. Methods: Exploratory assessment with principal component analysis (PCA) and Varimax rotation, and confirmatory analysis (CFA) were performed on two groups with 782 and 834 participants respectively (N=1,616). Mean age was 24.8 years. A Receiver operator analysis was applied to distinguish between control and suicide-risk subgroups adolescents. Results: Promax rotation yielded two 10-items factors, for suicide ideation and behavior respectively. C-SSRS was positively correlated with other suicide risk scales, such as Beck Depression Inventory-II, Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised, or PHQ-9. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a two-factor solution as the best goodness of fit model. C-SSRS showed adequate ability to detect suicide risk group with positive predictive value of 68.3%. ROC analyses showed cutoff scores of ≥6 and ≥4 for suicide ideation and behavior scales respectively Conclusion: This research offers data supporting psychometric validity and reliability of C-SSRS in nonclinical Spanish-speaking students. Added benefits are flexible scoring and management easiness. This questionnaire yields data on distinct aspects of suicidality, being more parsimonious than separate administration of a bunch of questionnaires [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The objectives of the study were to analyze the psychometric properties, factor structure and internal consistency of the Spanish version of the Food Craving Inventory (FCI-SP), as well as to determine its validity by evaluating the relationship of the FCI to different instruments. Methods: The sample comprised a group of patients and a group of students. The patient group included 216 people diagnosed with adaptive, anxiety disorders, and mild or moderate depressive episodes without psychotic symptoms. The patient group included 79 men (36.57%) and 137 women (63.43%), and the mean age was 38.27 years (SD = 9.57). All the patients had clinical characteristics, which enabled them to be treated as outpatients. The group of students comprised 142 people, none of whom had any psychiatric history of note. In this group there were 53 men (37.32%) and 89 women (62.68%), and the mean age was 21.45 years (SD = 5.04). Results: The best solution for the principal axis analysis revealed three factors (simple sugars/trans fats, complex carbohydrates/proteins, and saturated fats/high calorie content (fast food). The internal consistency of the FCI-SP and its subscales was determined by means of Cronbach´s alpha, with values ranging between 0.78 and 0.95. The correlations with other instruments reflected adequate validity. Discussion: The Spanish version of the FCI (FCI-SP) meets the psychometric requirements for measuring the food craving and shows adequate internal consistency and validity.

Doctorado Institucional en Psicología Recognizing the importance of work and organizations for people and societies, this research analyzes how well-being at work (Blanch, et al., 2010) and organizational identification (Topa & Morales, 2006) are explained by models of authentic leadership (Avolio et al., 2004), and leader-member exchange theory (Dansereau, et al., 1975) in conjunction with organizational socialization (Van Maanen & Schein, 1979). To reach the stated objective, the research was proposed as a cross-sectional study, with explanatory scope and non-probabilistic sampling (Kerlinger & Lee, 2002; Clark-Carter, 2010). We worked based on a two-phase sequential quantitative methodology (Obtaining evaluation instruments, and hypothesis testing). We had the collaboration of 685 people who voluntarily affirmed their intention to participate in the research, they were 417 women and 268 men. The highest percentages were found in Guanajuato 69.1%, Jalisco 5.9%, Mexico City 4.4% and Michoacán 3.5%. The median educational level reported by the participants was professional studies (bachelor's degree/university technician). In Phase I, assessment instruments with psychometric indicators suitable for use in the Mexican population were obtained, although there are discrepancies with the original proposals, especially with the factorial structures. In Phase II, the effects of the organizational leadership and socialization variables on organizational identification and well-being at work were analyzed, finding, through multivariate analysis, a mediating effect exerted by the organizational identification variable on well-being at work. Finally, the implications of finding factorial structures different from those originally proposed in the measurement instruments are discussed, as well as the implications of the behavior and the effects of the variables analyzed.

The aim of this study was to create a valid and reliable instrument to measure psychosocial risk factors at work in Mexican professors. A 66-item scale with 5 response choices was built. In order to validate the scale, it was administered to 500 public professors at Mexico city, aged between 21 an 76,331 males and 168 females, belonging to nine higher education schools. Statistical analyses were made to know the item discriminant power, reliability, and factor structure. The scale rendered five factors: perceived inequity, difficult students, perceived insecurity, academic overload, and lack of resources at the workplace. The scales had a Cronbach's alpha between .75 and 92. As a conclusion, the scale fulfills the requirements of reliability and validity in a population of professors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This article explores the factorial dimensions of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index -IRI (Davis, 1980; 1983), one of the most widely used self-report measures to assess the components of empathy. The analysis is carried out with the information of 1779 first-level university students in the years 2018 and 2019 in a Colombian public university. In order to contribute to a better adaptation of the instrument to the Colombian context, the original four-factor structure proposed by the author is validated. For this purpose, a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) estimated by Diagonalized Weighted Least Squares (WLSD) is used. The results show that the Spanish version applied to Colombian students has similar psychometric characteristics to the original version. However, fit problems are found for nine items, apparently due to difficulties in understanding the Spanish version.

- Abstract
To optimize their academic performance, students must engage with their learning processes. Evidence suggest that academic engagement is an important construct to promote learning, academic performance, interest, enjoyment and psychological well-being among college students. Although many studies demonstrate the importance of this construct, two main obstacles affect its investigation in Argentina: 1) theoretical controversies among engagement definition; and 2) the absence ofinvestigations that evaluate the psychometric properties of the UWES-S. This study appraises both predicaments. The adjustment of two opponent theoretical models was evaluated with factorial analyses (n= 555). Results showed that the conceptualization of academic engagement by means of dimensions such as arousal and direction is theoretically supported with an optimal data adjustment (CFI=.90; GFI=.91; RMSEA=.09) and acceptable psychometric properties (α values between .75 and .84). - Abstract
Background: Positive parenting is characterized by promoting healthy relationships in the family based on parental responsibility to ensure children’s rights and optimize their potential development and well-being. Authorship contribution JVR: data collection and processing, data analysis and general writing of the manuscript (introduction, method, results and discussion). VL: methodological design of the study, analysis of data, results, discussion and general review of the manuscript. - Abstract
Speaking about Big Data in education nowadays is to highlight the potential of massive data management for the improvement of educational quality. This article offers the most relevant results of a study conducted in a university context with students of the University of Malaga. The objective of the study was to know and understand the perceptions, opinions, knowledge and attitudes related to Big Data in the education system. For this, a survey study was conducted, using the VABIDAE scale to collect data of 104 university students. A psychometric study of the scale was done with the collected data, as well as a descriptive statistical analysis. The results indicate that students are quite uninformed about Big Data and its uses that can be given in the educational field, although they have a positive perception in the face data and its use. However, they are critical of the benefits and problems that can have on the quality of education., Hablar hoy de Big Data en educación es subrayar todas las potencialidades del manejo masivo de datos para la mejora de la calidad educativa, aunque de forma algo tardía.

Relational ethics, main and distinctive construct of contextual therapy refers to the ethics of responsibility and caring that prevails among people. It involves recognizing and assuming the responsibility of evaluating what one has received and one has given (striking a balance between reciprocal rights and obligations), and making a commitment of upholding fairness according to the nature of the relationship. Relational ethics includes the concepts of trust, loyalty and entitlement; justice works as its regulating power. Differentiation of self, the key construct of Murray Bowen’s systemic family theory, is a trait that involves intrapersonal capacities (moderate the influence of emotion in cognitive functioning) and interpersonal ones (offset separation- intimacy forces/autonomy and togetherness-bonding forces), including the viability of balancing them. This doctoral dissertation is structured around two general objectives: the first, to translate and adapt the Relational Ethics Scale (RES) to the Spanish population, and the second, to analyze the connection between relational ethics and differentiation of self (using the adaptation to the Spanish population of the Differentiation of Self Inventory-Revised (S-DSI)) in clinical and non-clinical populations and compare the results obtained. To achieve these objectives, after developing a scientific literature review and theoretical reasoning, we decided to structure the dissertation in two studies. The first, performed with a total sample of 1181 participants, consists of the translation, adaptation and validation of a measuring instrument, obtaining the S-RES (Spanish-Relational Ethics Scale). The second, involving a non-clinical sample of 1230 subjects and a clinical one of 241 people, analyzes the existing connections between relational ethics, self-differentiation, and certain sociodemographic variables. On the one hand, thanks to this research it is possible to have a psychometrically valid instrument, in Spanish, to measure the level of relational ethics, and on the other, empirical results were obtained, suggesting that relational ethics and differentiation of self are highly interconnected and linked to health and to the achievement of mature individuation. Based on this reasoning and these results, a few guidelines are provided for clinical practice, whose application might benefit people’s health, quality of life, and individual and relational well-being.

The objective of this study is to adapt and translate into Spanish the Conditions for Work Effectiveness Questionnaire –CWEQ II- (Laschinger, Finegan, Shamian & Wilk, 2001). A process of translation and reversetranslation was applied to the scale's items, whose psychometric properties were then examined using a sample of 346 employees from a Spanish public university. Reliability, factor structure (confirmatory factor analysis) of the scale and relationships between structural, general and psychological empowerment are investigated. Results showed a multidimensional scale of four first-order factors (access to opportunities, information, support and resources) as the original one, and positive relations between structural, general and psychological empowerment in the workplace. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed and suggestions to further research are made. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Data about the validation of the Basic Questionnaire for Depression (CBD, Cuesdonario Básico de Depresión) with an adolescent sample, are presented. The CBD is a 21-items inventory to assess the most representative areas of depression, and that has shown adequate psychometric properties with adult samples. The CBD was administered to 392 adolescents, (retest, » = 60), jointly with the CDI and the STAIC. The results favoured an one-factor solution, with an elevated internal consistency and a high temporary stability. The convergent validity with depression was elevated, but also it was it with anxiety. The CBD shows a greater capacity to detect possible-cases' of depression than 'possible-not-cases'. These results are discussed in relation to the necessity to corroborate them with clinical samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
