The scientific language in the field of anatomy and health sciences relies on a terminology that has been open to discussions and modifications. In Terminologia Anatomica, the term lengua comes from the Latin Lingua. However, there are also terms derived from the Greek lexemes glossa and glotta, both meaning 'tongue.' This establishes hyperonymy and synonymy among anatomical structures related to this sensory-muscular organ. The objective was to analyze the presence of the lexemes glossa - glotta in Terminologia Anatomica and review the definitions of terms containing these lexemes using the Diccionario Manual Griego-Español VOX and the Vocabulario Básico de Griego con anotaciones morfológicas y etimológicas. For Spanish etymology, the Diccionario panhispánico de términos médicos and the Diccionario Médico-Biológico, Histórico y Etimológico were used. The first use in Spanish was determined using the Corpus Diacrónico del Español. The studied lexemes were cited 15 times in Terminologia Anatomica, defined as 'tongue, mouth; speech, gift of speech; expression, manifestation, words; speech, tongue, language, idioma.' Some derived terms are also found, such as Ductus thyroglossalis, Epiglottis, Glottis, Ligamentum thyroepiglotticum, and Vallecula epiglottica. Therefore, these lexemes are considered synonymous. The lexeme glossa was first used in the medical field in 1870. The lexemes glossa and glotta are frequent in Terminologia Anatomica, raising questions about the use of double sigma in Ionic Greek and double tau in classical Attic Greek. Although synonymous, their abundance emphasizes the importance of mastering anatomical language for effective communication and precise understanding among students, professionals, and researchers. Objective: There is evidence that indicates that the Walked Distance (WD) in the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) would be sensitive to the type of track and encouragement. The aim of study was compared the impact of track type and verbal encouragement provided in the 6MWT on WD, physiological cost, perceived exertion, and gait efficiency in healthy young adults unfamiliar with the test. Method: WD, heart rate, subjective sensation of dyspnea (SSD), and fatigue (SSF) were measured in four 6MWT protocols: i) 30 m linear track and protocolized encouragement (LT + PE), ii) 30mlinear track and constant encouragement (LT + CE), iii) 81m elliptical track and protocolized encouragement (ET + PE), and iv) 81m elliptical track and constant encouragement (ET + CE). In addition, the Gait Efficiency Index (GIE) associated with physiological cost, dyspnea and fatigue was calculated and compared between the different protocols. Results: TheWD was significantly higher in the ET + CE protocol. The percentage of the heart rate reserve used (%HRRu) at minute 6 was higher in the ET + CE protocol. The SSD and SSD had difference in startup time between the protocols. The GEI was higher in %HRRu, SSD, and SSF for the ET + CE protocol. Conclusion: The ET + CE protocol showed a significant increase inWDduring the 6MWT in healthy young adults. Although it obtained the highest physiological cost, it did not present perceptual differences when entering cardiopulmonary assessment windows relevant to a more efficient test for the participant. It is advisable to discuss, based on the findings, the fundamental objective of the 6MWT and national and international recommendations to achieve a result as close as possible to the real maximal effort. Purpose: To determine how airway resistance (RAW) and airway conductance (GAW) affect inspiratory time (iT) and expiratory time (eT) in subjects with different nutritional states using the step test., Methods: Forty-eight participants were recruited and divided into three groups: 16 normal weight (NW), 16 overweight (OW), and 16 obese (OB). A lung function test and anthropometric evaluation were performed. iT and eT were measured using a sonographic device before and after the step test., Results: Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Fat Percentage (BF%) were significantly higher (P<0.0001; P<0.0001, respectively) in OB group. RAW was significantly higher in the OB group (P=0.004), and GAW (P=0.004) was significantly lower in the same group. At rest, the Respiratory Rate (RR) was significantly higher in OB group (P<0.05), while iT and eT showed no significant differences. On the other hand, after the step test, eT was significantly lower (P=0.016), with the multiple linear regression model being the best predictor of post-exercise eT, including BF%/GAW and BF%/sGAW (explained variability of 15.7% and 14.6%, respectively)., Conclusion: Nutritional status can significantly impact lung function; at rest, there was a decrease in lung volumes and an increase in RR in OB subjects. In addition, there was a significant decrease in eT of OB subjects post-exercise. Cerebral palsy is associated with complications such as low bone mineral density, which is more severe in patients with greater motor involvement. Assisted standing helps to prevent or delay this complication; however, its effect is controversial because the type of stander, the type of standing (dynamic or static), and its dosage are not clear. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of assisted standing on bone mineral density in children with cerebral palsy. A systematic review was carried out in compliance with the PRISMA guidelines, using 5 databases. The results were presented using tables, a risk of bias analysis, and a narrative synthesis. Four studies met the inclusion criteria. Assisted standing generates positive changes in bone mineral density, but further research is required, with studies that have greater methodological rigor, longer follow-up periods, and a larger number of patients., (Sociedad Argentina de Pediatría.)
