Objective: to evaluate the possibilities of normobaric hypoxic training (NHT) in the human brain protection from the damaging effects of oxygen defciency.Materials and methods: the study involved 18 men, aged 19-23 years, who underwent NHT: 15 treatments daily 2-hour stay in a hypoxic gas medium (HGM) having an oxygen content 15.0 ± 0.5% (HGM-15). Beforestarting the NHT (I phase), and afer 1-2 days afer its closure (II stage) were carried hypoxic samples (staying in HGM-15) before and during which the subjects were recorded the electroencephalogram (EEG) and mental performance were evaluated (the «Route» test).Results: when the frst hypoxic test was carried out, the subjects had a decrease in the alpha-rhythm index (on average by 10-15 %, p = 0.013) and its amplitude (by 10-12 %, p = 0.044) compared to the usual environmental conditions. Objective: justifi cation of the use of normobaric hypoxic therapy (NHT) for recovery of mental working capacity of the hazardous occupations specialists. Materials and methods. Th e studies included 26 hazardous occupations specialists (men aged 25-37 years old), with signs of non-pathological neurotic manifestations and decrease in mental capacity. 14 people (the basic group - BG) received medical and psychological rehabilitation (MPR) with the use of NHT: 12 procedures 2 hours stay in a room with O2 content 17-15%. For the remaining 12 people (comparison group - CG) similar activities of the MPR were carried out, and NHT was imitated. To assess the psycho-emotional status and mental working capacity were used: “State of health, activity, mood” (SAM); “Reactive anxiety” (RA); “Arithmetic account” (AA). Results. Objective: to assess the human adaptive respiratory responses formed in during cyclic stay in artificial hypoxic gaseous environment with oxygen content in nitrogen of 17% (AHGE-17). Materials and methods: in 12 male, aged 25-52 in during cyclic stay in AHGE-17 (daily, for 2 hours, 15 sessions in total) was evaluated external respiratory function (ERF). Results: in response to stay in AHGE-17 the test subjects showed reduced activity of the respiratory system that manifested itself in reducing lung ventilation, gas exchange and respiratory efficiency. Further proceedings are accompanied by statistically significant reduction in the severity of these reactions; In addition, all surveyed also noted optimization of parameters of ERF in normal conditions. Conclusions: the identified human reactions of ERF in stay in AHGE-17 reflected the «transition» of cells and tissues to more economical mode of activity that allows the body to endure such hypoxic condition without express of oxygen transport mechanisms.
