The article presents a clinical case of the senesto-hypochondriacal form of schizophrenia, the implementation of violations of bodily perception within which for a long time was limited to the orofacial space against the background of orthodontic pathology. Prosopalgia is a transnosological syndrome characteristic of a heterogeneous group of disorders, the differential diagnosis of which, due to the peculiarities of the innervation of the facial area, can be difficult and requires special attention for the timely determination of their nosological affiliation and the initiation of adequate therapy. Interest in the clinical case is due to longlasting senestoalgic syndrome, similar in clinical picture to established pathology of the temporomandibular joint, which complicated the timely assessment of the patient’s condition and led to exacerbation of the mental disorder in the absence of psychopharmacological therapy. The article provides an analysis of the place of mental pathology in the formation and development of orofacial pain, both of a somatogenic nature and in the context of somatopsychic disorders, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive assessment of both the dental and mental status of such patients in order to formulate optimal approaches to treatment.

Large-sized specimens of a new for the Caspian Sea mollusk were found in spring 2023 in trawl catches of the survey conducted by the Volga-Caspian branch (CaspNIRKH) of the Russian Res. Inst. of Fisheries and Oceanography. Using molecular genetics research methods, including sequencing of the cytochrome oxidase gene of mitochondrial DNA, the species is identified as Mytilus galloprovincialis — the Black Sea mussel. In summer, the invaders were recorded in bottom samples in several areas of the sea. Features of the species biology allow its naturalization into the Caspian Sea ecosystem that will contribute to enrichment of the food base for fish and involve this filter-feeding mollusk to the processes of self-purification of the sea.

The transformation of the economy towards sustainable development based on ESG principles is one of the most pressing tasks. This article aims to study the current state of implementation of ESG principles in the context of sustainable development in Kazakhstan and identify critical factors influencing these processes. Special attention is given to the environmental component of ESG development, considering its importance in light of global demographic and technological changes. During the research, general scientific methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis, analogy, generalization, classification), as well as methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis, were applied, allowing for the identification and systematization of critical achievements in implementing ecological aspects of the sustainable development strategy in the republic. The article provides an assessment of Kazakhstan's involvement in adapting the best international practices in the ESG sphere, specifically in the activities of companies. Trends in the change of Kazakhstan's global rankings were analyzed using the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) and Sustainable Development Index (SDI). According to the assessments of international experts, a conclusion was drawn about the worsening of Kazakhstan's position. The article gives a detailed characterization of factors hindering the promotion of environmentally responsible investments and reducing the effectiveness of projects for climate change adaptation in the republic. As a result, factors contributing to the successful implementation of ESG development policy in Kazakhstan were identified, and recommendations based on this were given for further activation. The conclusion emphasizes the relevance of continuing research in strengthening the informational support of the ESG development process in the economy, primarily through implementing non-financial reporting.

BACKGROUND: One of the principal indications of placenta accreta is pathological vascular remodeling in the region of the placental site. This phenomenon, which may result from various mechanisms, can give rise to significant blood loss in women undergoing cesarean section [2]. AIM: The study aims to evaluate the correlation between different types of abnormal hypervascularization observed on pelvic magnetic resonance imaging in pregnant women with placenta accreta and blood loss during surgical delivery by cesarean section. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 224 patients in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy with placenta previa and placenta accreta were examined. This was confirmed by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, and subsequently by histopathologic examination. The mean age of the patients was 34.8±0.41 years (M±SE, p 0.05). Magnetic resonance imaging was conducted in accordance with a three-stage protocol on tomographs with magnetic field strengths of 1.5 and 3 Tesla. The diagnosis of placenta accreta was based on 11 signs, as outlined in the joint consensus statement of the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the European Society of Urogenital Radiology [1]. In addition, signs of hypervascularization were evaluated, including intrauterine (retroplacental, intramural, and subserosal) and extrauterine (parametrial, paracervical, and uterine-ovarian anastomosis zone) regions. The diagnostic criteria for hypervascularization were defined as an increase in the diameter of vessels, as indicated by areas of magnetic resonance signal dropout, their pronounced tortuosity, and their location in the corresponding anatomical regions relative to the uterus. Blood loss during labor was assessed in five categories: 1000 mL, 1000–1500 mL, 1500–2000 mL, 2000–3000 mL, and 3000 mL [3]. The correlation between variables was assessed using linear regression and Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r) and one-way analysis of variance. Differences were considered statistically significant at p 0.05. RESULTS: According to the data of correlation analysis, the formation of anterior (r=0.3591, p 0.0001) and lateral (r=0.2799, p 0.0001) parametrial vascular collateralization, as well as utero-ovarian anastomosis (r=0.1369, p=0.0407) had the most significant effect on the severity of postpartum hemorrhage. There was no statistically significant effect of retroplacental hypervascularization on the increase in blood loss volume (r=–0.01611, p=0.6051). CONCLUSIONS: The study demonstrated that patterns of abnormal vascular remodeling in the placental site can be clearly identified by magnetic resonance imaging and used as a predictor of severe hemorrhage. Pregnant women with such MRI findings should be referred to a level 3 perinatal center to ensure adequate control of increased risks of obstetric hemorrhage during operative delivery.

As a result of generalization of geophysical studies, petro-paleomagnetic and structural-geomorphological analyses, as well as thermodynamic modeling, some features of ore formation in the hydrothermal system of Cape Fiolent (southwestern Crimea) under island arc conditions were revealed.It has been established that the main transformations of rocks of the Middle Jurassic igneous complex of Cape Fiolent occurred under the influence of hydrothermal fluids during the introduction of felsic intrusions during 168–140 Ma. The zones contain sulfide mineralization, the main minerals of which are pyrite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, galena, chalcopyrite and arsenic pyrite. In the central parts of the hydrothermal alteration zone, massive sulfides are strongly weathered; these zones contain many secondary sulfates. In the marginal parts of hypergenic limonite, yellow-brown goethite prevails in the oxidation zone, yellow jarosite in the center, which is probably due to the large amount of pyrite in the center of the system, which gave more sulfuric acid during oxidation. The presence of native sulfur in the section testifies to the mixing of the acidified hydrothermal solution with seawater. Complex petro-paleomagnetic and magnetometric studies have shown that contact changes and transformation of the contrasting basalt-rhyolite formation occurred along the NNW-trending faults.

Superficial vein thrombosis, which is mostly caused by lower extremity varicose vein disease, can be complicated by pulmonary embolism. At the same time, the optimal duration of anticoagulant therapy for pulmonary embolism originated from varicose vein thrombosis is still under debate. On the one hand, the presence of varicose veins is considered a small risk factor for the development of venous thromboembolic events, which persistence determines an increased risk of relapse and requires prolonged anticoagulant therapy. On the other hand, elimination of varicose veins is associated with reduced risk of subsequent venous thromboembolic events. The article describes a clinical case of recurrent pulmonary embolism after surgical treatment of varicose vein disease, which caused primary pulmonary embolism. A 45-year-old patient suffering from left lower extremity varicose vein disease for 5 years was admitted to the intensive care unit with suspected pulmonary embolism. The further examination revealed signs of thrombotic occlusion of the segmental and subsegmental branches of the pulmonary arteries bilaterally and the middle lobe branch of the right pulmonary artery, as well as signs of the right-sided heart overload. In this case, pulmonary embolism was found to originate from thrombosis of the trunk of the great saphenous vein ofthe left lower extremity with a proximal border at the level of the lower leg. No signs of deep vein involvement were detected. The parenteral anticoagulant therapy initiated in the hospital was followed by switching to therapeutic doses of rivaroxaban. The signs of recanalization of involved veins were identified after 6 months of treatment, and it was decided to perform endovenous laser coagulation of the trunk of the great saphenous vein combined with mini-phlebectomy of varicose tributaries on continuous oral anticoagulant therapy. The rivaroxaban therapy was completed a month after intervention. However, 7 days later the patient was diagnosed with repeated symptomatic pulmonary embolism, which originated from thrombosis of the left popliteal vein. It was recommended to resume anticoagulant therapy of indefinite duration. The article discusses the issues of optimal duration of treatment for pulmonary embolism originated from thrombosis of superficial varicose veins, as well as the possible timing of completion of anticoagulant therapy after the intervention.

Main causes of secondary hypertrophic cardiomyopathy include acromegalic cardiomyopathy. Heart damage in patients with the acromegaly is mediated both by the direct action of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor-1, and increased deposition of collagen and lymphomononuclear cells in the myocardium, which leads to architectural changes, disturbances in fluid and electrolyte balance, severe left ventricular myocardial hypertrophy, diastolic and systolic left ventricular dysfunction and chronic heart failure. This article presents the world's first described observation demonstrating the possibility of successful transfemoral aortic valve repair to a comorbid patient with severe aortic stenosis according to the potential risks caused by the active form of the acromegaly.

Aim. To evaluate changes in the concentration of molecules that mark the neurodegenerative process, experimental spinal cord injuries (SCI) of various origins were studied.Materials and methods. SCI was modeled in six-month-old male Wistar rats by exposing the T10 vertebra to: carbon dioxide under a pressure of 2 N/cm2 (pneumocontusion); free-falling load of three weights of 1.12 N/cm2, 1.68 N/cm2, 1.96 N/cm2 (contusion injury); compression with forceps (compression injury); partial hemisection of the spinal cord; mechanical laminectomy using a mechanical drill. There were 6 rats in each group, including the intact control group. On the 28th day after a single application of SCI in rats, the concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 6 (IL-6), albumin, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBA-RS) and superoxide dismutase activity were assessed in the blood serum.Results. When modeling SCI of various origins in rats, the serum concentration of TNF-α increased (from 115.5% (p < 0.05) in mild contusion to 234.5% (p < 0.05) in compression trauma compared to intact control) as well as IL-6 (from 49.2% (p < 0.05) in mechanical laminectomy to 89.8% (p < 0.05) in hemisection compared with intact control), suggesting activation of inflammatory reactions. The concentration of albumin in the blood serum of rats with SCI was lower than that of intact animals, especially in the hemisection group – by 41.9% (p < 0.05). Animals with SCI had an increase in TBA-RS concentration ranging from 103.2% (p < 0.05) in mild contusion and compression to 135.5% (p < 0.05) in pneumocontusion, and a decrease in superoxide dismutase activity ranging from 26.3% (p < 0.05) in laminectomy to 31.7% (p < 0.05) in hemisection. At the same time, injuries caused by spinal compression and hemisection led to a more pronounced activation of the inflammatory process, as evidenced by the increased TNF-α content compared to other variants of SCI modeling.Conclusion. All SCI simulations resulted in equivalent activation of oxidative stress, while inflammation is more pronounced when reproducing compression injury and injury caused by spinal hemisection.

Introduction. Modification of traditional materials based on mineral binders with fine-dispersed and nano-additives is an essential way to create new functional construction materials with a set of unique characteristics. However, the main difficulty in this process is the method of introducing a finely dispersed component into the cement matrix and the uniformity of its distribution. The homogeneous distribution of the additive particles in the cement composite improves the physical and mechanical characteristics, intensifies the hydration of cement clinker minerals, and is leading to a more durable and dense cement stone structure. The main methods of introducing additives into the cement composition include joint grinding, dry mixing and the introduction of a stabilized suspension of the additive instead of mixing water. Thus, the purpose of this research is to compare the options for the introduction of additives based on the TiO2–Bi2O3 oxide system, which can provide the cement composite with improved physical, mechanical and structural characteristics and the ability to resist mold fouling. The object of this research is the cement compositions modified with an additive based on the TiO2–Bi2O3 system. Materials and methods. The studies were carried out to establish the optimal method of introducing a fine-dispersed additive based on the TiO2–Bi2O3 system. At the first stage, the phase and granulometric composition of the additive was studied, then the additive was introduced into the cement composition in four different ways. The cement stone samples were obtained by dry mixing of the components then mixed with water, by mixing cement powder with water suspension of the additive after ultrasound processing, by mixing a dry mixture of cement and an additive with water-plasticizer solution, and cement powder mixed with water-polymer suspension of the additive after ultrasound processing. After that, the strength characteristics, porosity and ability of the samples to resist fungi fouling were investigated. Results. As a result of the study, the authors concluded that the highest physical and mechanical characteristics of cement stone can be provided by introducing an additive in the form of a stabilized water-polymer suspension. This method contributes to the formation of a more durable and dense structure of cement stone, with an increase in strength of 31; 38 and 44.8% at first day age, 28; 30 and 32% at third day age and 2.4; 9.0 and 14% at 28 days age relative to the control sample containing cement, water and plasticizer. It was found that the highest strength results were shown by a sample containing a stabilized suspension of an additive with a concentration of 50 g/l. The study of the cement stone porosity showed its decrease by 13% at first day age in relation to the control sample with a plasticizer, and by 10% after 28 days of hardening. It was also shown that samples modified with 50 g/l (1.7 wt.%) of the additive demonstrate resistance to bio-fouling. Conclusion. As a result of the research, the authors concluded that the optimal way to introduce a finely dispersed additive based on the TiO2–Bi2O3 system is to mix cement powder with a stabilized water-polymer suspension of the additive, resulting in a more durable and dense structure of cement stone, especially at an early stage of hydration, which can also resist fungi bio-fouling. Thus, the authors came to the conclusion that the cement compositions obtained by this method can be applied as repair compounds and tile grout in damp shaded rooms with favorable conditions for fungi colonization.

The aim of the current study was to determine whether there are changes in brain trace elements of rats with blast-induced trauma and if these changes affect behavior in the elevated plus maze. Materials and methods. The study was carried out on 126 sexually mature male Wistar and were divided into 3 groups: Experimental – exposed to a shock wave 26.4 ± 3.6 kPa (n = 42); Sham (n = 42), the animals of which were subjected to inhalation anesthesia with halothane and fixation in a horizontal position; and Intact (n = 42). Behavior was study in elevated plus maze. The duration of presence in the open and closed arms, the number of stands, the duration of grooming was recorded in all groups of rats for 3 minutes. After, the animals were euthanized with halothane, followed by removal of the brain. The cerebellum was completely separated for spectral analysis using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis (EDRFA) on the analyzer EXPERT 3 XL. Results. Results showed significant changes of cognitive activity in experimental group which are indicate functional disorders of the cerebellum in the form of maladaptation in space with subsequent inhibition of motor centers. Cu/Fe ratio was decreased in the 14th and 21st days and increased in the 28th. Cu/Zn ratio was decreased on the 14th day. Zn/Fe ratio was higher on the 14th and 28th days. The existence of correlations between changes in trace elements and behavioral disorders in experimental rats was established. Conclusions. In the early period of blast-induced traumatic brain injury, cerebellar dysfunction in the form of spatial maladaptation with subsequent depression of motor centers was observed in the experimental rats Correlation analysis showed the presence of different strengths and directions of relationships between the ratios of Cu/Fe, Cu/Zn and Zn/Fe in the cerebellum and behavioral indicators in the elevated plus maze (duration of stay in open and closed arms, grooming and vertical motor activity) of experimental rats.

The article discusses the fundamental possibilities of using the results of geochemical and hydrogeochemical studies of organic matter, oils and waters in oil and gas geology, including for objects at the stage of development. It is shown that complex geochemical studies of oils and waters make it possible to get more correct conclusions about the presence or absence of fluid-dynamic connectivity of different horizons. Studies of organic matter and oils allow (by basin modeling instrument) to understand the contribution of different source rocks to formation of oils of different reservoirs. Hydrogeochemical studies of associated waters and waters used in the reservoir pressure maintenance system in a complex of works not only actively complements the knowledge about the presence or absence of fluid-dynamic connections between reservoirs and production objects, but also make it possible to predict, for example, salt deposition on equipment and in the reservoirs, and therefore allow you to prevent the possibility of unwanted salt deposition. The conclusions are based on the results of comprehensive geological and geochemical studies carried out by the authors for one of the deposits of the Krasnoleninsky arch of Western Siberia, which is at the development stage, as well as on the previous experience of the authors.

To get properties and characteristics of oil and gas source rocks and for other geological aims, geologists analyzes core samples from wells and outcrop samples. But we should probably somehow correct geochemical source rock properties data we get on outcrop samples, because organic matter could change significantly due to oxidizing and weathering. This problem is very important but poorly developed in modern publications, so it attracted our interest and led to this investigation. Published information on the organic matter weathering which change it’s content and quality in sedimentary rocks is collected and summarized in this article. The changes of the kerogen (isolated from the mineral matrix) elemental composition during its long-term storage are presented.We compared the results we get in laboratory and results of other authors who dealt with natural changes of organic matter in outcrops. An attempt to interpret the results obtained from the point of view of hypergene changes in OM was made. Uncertainties that require further study and development are indicated. This work is the first step to better understanding of weathering effect on organic matter content and properties – question of great importance for making adequate oil and gas prospects estimations.This study continues the work of our foregoers and Teachers – geochemists of the Petroleum Geology Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University: N.B. Aim. To present data from the AURA Registry (real-world data registry on AlbUminuRia detection rate among patients with previously undiAgnosed chronic kidney disease). It is important to perform population studies both to study the occurrence of markers (albuminuria (AU), decreased glomerular filtration rate (GFR)) and the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD), which will provide information on the actual detection rate of CKD and the related markers in territories included in the registry of research centers.Material and methods. The article presents the first data from the AURA registry. Recruitment was carried out from March 6, 2023 to January 23, 2024. Thirty-four research centers in various federal districts of the Russian Federation and 104 doctors took part in the recruitment. We included 4580 subjects over the age of 40 years who had no previously established diagnosis of CKD and did not have type 1 or type 2 diabetes. During recruitment, the researchers were guided by the AURA study protocol (Version 1.7/12-26-2022).Results. AU more than 20 mg/g was detected in 64,9% of cases. At the same time, AU is more common at GFR values that may correspond to stage 3A of CKD. The rarer occurrence of AU in those examined with GFR >60 ml/min/1,73 m2 may be explained by less severe renal damage at this CKD stage. The incidence of AU was significantly higher in men, older people, smokers, people with metabolic syndrome, hypertension (HTN), prediabetes and overweight. The occurrence of AU also increased as HTN grade increased. AU detection rate was associated with hypertriglyceridemia, a high blood level of C-reactive protein, which is an integrative marker of inflammation that negatively affects cardiovascular risk.Conclusion. The presented first data from the AURA registry demonstrated the high AU prevalence in people over 40 years of age. A high incidence of AU was typical for patients with HTN, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and prediabetes. An association has been demonstrated between the high incidence of AU and male sex, age, overweight, hyperuricemia, dyslipidemia, and a number of other cardiovascular risk factors.

The authors analyze the legal regime of a share in the authorized capital of a limited liability company acquired during marriage, as well as the legal fate of this share in the event of death of one of the spouses. Acquisition of a share is basic for acquisition of corporate rights to participate in the company. Since the legal regime of joint ownership presupposes the ownership of property without determining the shares of each co-owner, regardless of which spouse is registered in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, both spouses are members of the company and considered as one subject (legal relationship with multiple persons). Any of the co-owners has the right to act in exercising general corporate rights as an authorized person, forming a single will. Increments received from owning shares (income) go into the common property. After the death of a spouse, the common joint property is transformed into the individual property of the surviving spouse, who receives ½ of the common property of the spouses. The second half of the common property is considered to belong to the deceased spouse, and therefore is included in the inheritance mass and undergoes through the procedure of hereditary succession. The transformation of common joint property into the individual property of the surviving spouse is not a transfer, since in this case there is no termination of the surviving spouse’s property rights. The rules governing the transfer of a share in the authorized capital of the company to third parties are not applicable to such transformation. A share in the authorized capital is an indivisible property, and therefore the legal fate of the share is the same.

The aim was to evaluate the markers of emotional status and the antioxidant system activity in rats with blast-induced traumatic brain injury. Materials and methods. The study carried out on 85 sexually mature male Wistar rats in compliance with the current legislation on humane treatment of animals. The selected rats were randomly divided into three groups: I – study in the Barnes maze; II – study in the Open Field test; and III – study of glutathione reductase activity in a solution of rat erythrocyte’s hemolysate. In each of these groups, three groups were formed: Experimental – exposed to a shock wave with an overpressure of 26.4 ± 3.6 kPa; the Sham – subjected only to halothane and fixation; and the Intact group. Results. Showed a disturbance in the emotional status and the oxidative stress development in rats with blast-induced trauma. The time of experimental rats freezing in the Barnes maze increased by 69 % (p < 0.01) on 28th day compared to 1st day, indicating the development of fear and negative emotionality. Changes in the defecation acts number indicate the development of anxiety in the acute period (1–3 days), followed by a depression-like state. The glutathione reductase activity in experimental rats was significantly higher compared to sham and intact rats, but gradually decreased inside in the experimental group. The results of the correlation analysis indicate the presence of weak relationships between the freezing time and the glutathione reductase activity. The positive relationship of a strong degree was found between the number of defecation acts and glutathione reductase on 1st day and a negative relationship of a strong degree was found on 7th day. Conclusions. We suppose that oxidative stress is a link, but not the leading one, in the pathogenesis of emotional disturbance in rats with blast-induced brain injury.

In addition to studying bioactive organic compounds in plants, it is increasingly important to determine the biological role of elements in plants growing in environmentally unfavorable areas. One of such regions in Russia is Kuzbass with its intensively developing chemical, metallurgical, and coal mining sectors. In this study, we assessed the plant materials of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.), alsike clover (Trifolium hybridum L.), and white clover (Trifolium repens L.) collected from their natural populations in Kuzbass. The qualitative and quantitative composition of heavy metals in the clover samples was determined voltammetrically. The contents of molybdenum and phosphorus were measured by the photocolorimetric method. Total nitrogen and protein were determined by the Kjeldahl method. Nickel, cobalt, and chromium were quantified by spectrophotometry. We analyzed the plant materials of the clover samples for heavy metals and found that the content of lead was the least in red clover and the highest in alsike clover. Copper varied in a larger range and was minimal in red clover compared to that in alsike and white clover. Zinc was found at higher concentrations of in white and red clover compared to that in alsike clover. The levels of cadmium exceeded the maximum permissible concentrations in all the clover samples. We also revealed that the clover samples contained different amounts of various amino acids, including arginine, valine, lysine, glycine, aspartic acid, and alanine. The plant materials of the clover species growing in Kuzbass can be used to improve the fertility of soil and nitrogen regime. However, the clover species should not be used in bulk feed for farm animals because of high concentrations of cadmium.

Glaucoma is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that eventually leads to irreversible blindness. The main risk factor for the development and progression of glaucoma is elevated IOP. In cases where the use of prostaglandin analogues is limited, brimonidine is the most rational choice as initial therapy. It is the only molecule that both reduces aqueous humor production and enhances uveoscleral outflow. The use of several hypotensive drugs for a long time can lead to pronounced changes in the tissues of the anterior segment of the eye. In this case, there are complaints characteristic of the dry eye syndrome. The aggravation of this condition can affect the adherence of patients to treatment and worsen the course of the disease. Therefore, it is important to prescribe hypotensive drugs that have a sufficient hypotensive effect with a good safety profile. Purpose. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Brimonidine SZ in combination therapy for glaucoma after changing the hypotensive regimen. Patients and methods. The study was conducted in a group of 50 patients (50 eyes) with initial or advanced drug-compensated primary open-angle glaucoma (mean age 64.8 years), among them there were 27 (54 %) women and 23 (46 %) men. In patients included in the study, brimonidine 0.15 % or 0.2 % was replaced with Brimonidine SZ as part of combination hypotensive therapy. To analyze the results obtained, data on corneal-compensated IOP, the degree of corneal staining with fluorescein, assessments of conjunctival hyperemia, indicators of the OSDI questionnaire and the level of adherence to treatment at the initial visit, as well as 1 and 3 months after changing the hypotensive regimen, were compared. Results. There were no statistically significant differences in the level of IOP at different times after changing the hypotensive regimen. Objective indicators of the state of the tissues of the anterior surface of the eye did not change. According to the results of the evaluation of the main signs of dry eye syndrome (OSDI) and the degree of adherence of patients to treatment, no significant changes were found either. Conclusion. Brimonidine SZ has a similar hypotensive efficacy with brimonidine 0.15 % and 0.2 % as part of combination hypotensive therapy. The safety profile of Brimonidine SZ is comparable to analogues, which allows us to consider this drug as a possible alternative when choosing hypotensive therapy.

Numerous adverse factors may violate the human immune system and trigger various diseases. Immune-response modulating agents, or immunomodulators, help the immune system to function properly. Biologically active substances extracted from medicinal plants are especially promising in this respect. The article reviews traditional and novel methods for extracting biologically active immune-response modulating agents from plant raw materials. The review covered articles published in English and Russian in 2019–2023 and indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and eLIBRARY. Extraction efficiency depends on such factors as solvent, temperature, and particle size, but the method is the most important one. Traditional extraction methods include percolation, maceration, Soxhlet extraction, heat reflux extraction, and decoction. However, they are solvent-consuming and expensive. Modern extraction methods rely on carbon dioxide, microwave treatment, ultrasonic processing, and pressure. They proved quite efficient in extracting biologically active substances from ginseng (Panax gin- seng). Carbon dioxide, or supercritical, extraction was able to isolate polyphenol quercetin from quince fruit (Cydonia oblonga) and other biologically active substances from alfalfa (Medicago sativa). Maceration with methanol was applied to meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) while Soxhlet extraction proved especially effective with smoke tree (Cotinus coggygria), moorland spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza maculata), and greater butterfly-orchid (Platanthera chlorantha). Both traditional and novel extraction methods find their application in medicine and food science, where they yield plant extracts of biologically active immune-response modulating agents.

The purpose of the research is a comparative study of morphological changes in Trichinella spiralis capsules and larvae in the lynx and laboratory animals.Materials and methods. The experiment used striated muscle tissue from spontaneously infected lynxes and from white rats experimentally infected with T. spiralis larvae isolated from wild animals in the Kirov Region. Morphometric studies of T. spiralis capsules and larvae in the lynx muscle tissue were conducted on temporary histologic specimens.Results and discussion. Lemon-shaped (50%) and oval (40%) capsules were found in the entire muscle mass of the white rats, and only 10% of the larvae were round in shape. The lynx was not found to have lemon-shaped capsules; oval (60%) and round (40%) capsules predominated. The studies show that the parasite capsule size and shape indicate the adaptive abilities of T. spiralis to various types of host muscle tissue and their morphological characteristics, and are largely determined by the symplast structure and size.

Background. Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the joints, spine and entheses that can occur in patients with psoriasis. The prevalence of psoriatic arthritis is 19.7%. In 70% of cases, psoriasis precedes the development of arthritis. It has been proven that a delay in the diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis even by 6 months is associated with a deterioration in long-term radiological and functional results, leading to disability. The problem of early diagnosis of joint damage can be solved by identifying predictors of the risk of developing psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis. Aims. To determine possible predictors for the development of psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis. Methods. The open, uncontrolled, prospective study enrolled 250 patients. The main group consisted of 190 patients diagnosed with plaque psoriasis. The control group consisted of 60 patients with psoriatic arthritis. In order to identify associations of clinical and genetic (HLA-B27 carriage) parameters with the development of psoriatic arthritis, we compared the frequency of occurrence of these parameters in patients with psoriatic arthritis and without. Results. Among 190 patients with plaque psoriasis 128 (67.4%) men, 62 (32.6%) women, aged 18 to 84 years (40.30 ± 15.56), the average duration of psoriasis was 10.09 ± 11.08 years (0–57). Among 60 patients with psoriatic arthritis 39 (65%) men, 21 (35%) women aged 18 to 86 years (44.43 ± 14.15), the average duration of psoriasis was 20.47 ± 13.22 years (2–57), the average duration of psoriatic arthritis was 7.97 ± 9.95 years (0–47). Сlinical predictors for the development of psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis: nail psoriasis (OR = 2.244 [95% CI: 1.245–4.045]); severe psoriasis (PASI ≥ 20) (OR = 2.148 [95% CI: 1.161–3.975]); arterial hypertension (OR = 1.982 [95% CI: 1.031–3.812]); duration of psoriasis over 25 years (OR = 3.365 [95% CI: 1.676–6.756]), р 0,05. Conclusions. The joint consideration of informative predictors will allow us to develop an original multi-parameter mathematical model for calculating the risk of developing psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis.

The purpose of the work is to follow the dynamics of changes in fluorescent signals in the near-surface layers of tissue of injured areas of the back of laboratory animals, which will allow, by indirect evidence, to evaluate the information content of fluorescence diagnosis for subsequent possible diagnostic monitoring of photodynamic therapy of the spinal cord. The model animals were Wistar rats. Two types of contusions were modeled: pneumo-contusion and contusion by a falling load. Methylene blue and indocyanine green were used as photosensitizers. Fluorescence measurements were carried out by imaging and spectrometric methods. A stroboscopic fluorescence imager with an excitation wavelength of 630 nm was used to acquire fluorescence images. The LESA-01-BIOSPEC spectrometer with a He-Ne laser excitation allowed to obtain spectra. It was shown that both methods make it possible to estimate the fluorescence value of methylene blue and indocyanine green in the tissues under study. Moreover, the photographic method also allows to obtain the spatial distribution of fluorescence. The general trend found in the data is a more intense and uniform fluorescence of the dorsal region of rats with methylene blue and a less intense, but more contrasting distribution of indocyanine green. The presented methods are non-invasive, which makes them attractive for diagnostic use. However, due to the shallow depth of signal reception, the condition of the spine can be determined only indirectly, by the condition of the near-surface layers of tissue that accumulate the photosensitizer.

ABSTRACT: Introduction. The evolution of the construction industry in its current stage calls for the alteration of traditional building materials through the incorporation of nano- and fine-dispersed additives. These additions confer new, unique attributes to cement-based construction materials, enabling control over structure formation processes. Consequently, this allows for the creation of materials with specifically defined characteristics. Additives can be introduced into the cement composite during the joint grinding with clinker minerals, as a component of dry building mixture, or in the form of a suspension instead of mixing water. Therefore, it is essential to obtain fine particles suspensions resistant to aggregation and sedimentation. Thus, the purpose of this study is to obtain stabilized suspensions of bismuth titanate fine particles for cement systems and to study the properties of modified cement stone. Materials and methods. The purpose of this work was to establish the optimal concentration of polycarboxylate plasticizer in industrial water, necessary for the stabilization of fine bismuth titanate suspensions using surface tension and conductometric determination methods, the sedimentation stability of the obtained suspensions and the effect of ultrasonic exposure, as well as the physical and mechanical characteristics of cement stone modified with the obtained suspensions. Results and discussion. In order to establish the optimal concentration of the plasticizer necessary to obtain stable suspensions of bismuth titanate particles, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) for the plasticizer was determined with tap water as the dispersed medium. The CMC value was 1.3 g/l. If the concentration exceeds CMC, the process of micelle formation begins. In the micellar form, the plasticizer no longer provides stabilizing effect on the additive particles, therefore, the concentration of the plasticizer should be lower than the CMC. It was also found that ultrasound exposure increases the sedimentation stability of suspensions. The resulting stabilized suspensions were used instead of mixing water to obtain modified cement stone samples. There is an increase in the compressive strength of cement stone samples obtained after the introduction of fine bismuth titanate into the cement composite in the form of water suspensions stabilized by ultrasonic treatment with concentrations of 10, 30 and 50 g/l. The increase in compressive strength of modified samples compared to reference sample was from 24 to 33 MPa at first day age (by 13, 25 and 38% respectively), and from 80 to 93 MPa at 28 days age (by 4, 9 and 16%). Compressive strength of samples modified with bismuth titanate suspensions after ultrasonication compared to reference sample with plasticizer increased mostly at the first and third days age: from 29 to 42 MPa (by 31, 38 and 45%) and from 53 to 70 MPa (by 28, 30 and 32%) respectively. Conclusion. As a result of the research carried out in this study, the Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC) of a polycarboxylate plasticizer was determined, optimal for stabilizing fine-dispersed additive of bismuth titanate for cement systems, the effectiveness of ultrasonic treatment to achieve sedimentation stability of the obtained suspensions of the additive was confirmed, an increase in the strength characteristics of modified cement stone samples was established both in the initial hardening periods and at 28 days age. The results allow to consider a cement composite with fine bismuth titanate as a basis for obtaining building materials of new generation.

The ixodid tick Haemaphysalis concinna (Koch, 1844) is a carrier of pathogens of vector-borne diseases of viral, bacterial and protozoal etiology. This tick was previously considered an adventive relict species in the Baikal region, but has recently shown a tendency to increase its numbers and expand its habitat. The aim of the study. To generalize the available and newly received information on the distribution of the H. concinna tick in the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia; to carry out the comparative analysis of the results in order to identify the dynamics of the development of populations of this species of ixodid ticks in the Baikal region. Materials and methods. The coordinates of H. concinna detection points in our studies were obtained using a GPS navigator directly in the field. Ticks were caught during the period of their maximum activity from plants using a flannel flag. Approximate geographic coordinates of H. concinna tick detection points were established when analyzing the maps published by other researchers. Results. As a result of the generalization of our own data and data from literary sources, 52 georeferenced detection points of H. concinna were obtained on the territory of the Baikal region. A map showing the distribution of H. concinna in the territory of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia is presented. It is shown that in a number of surveyed areas there are stable populations of this species of tick, which tend to increase in their numbers and expand their range. Conclusions. Considering these data, as well as the fact that H. concinna ticks are actively involved in the circulation of pathogens of natural focal diseases in humans and animals, we can conclude that it is necessary to systematically monitor the populations of this vector species in the Baikal region.

Background. Cattle anaplasmosis and babesiosis and theileriosis of horses are a group of natural focal vector-borne diseases that cause significant economic damage to livestock and horse breeding around the world. On the territory of the Baikal region these diseases and their pathogens remain little explored. Purpose – to study the epizootic situation of blood-parasitic diseases of farm animals in the Irkutsk region, to establish the species affiliation of the identified pathogens and their genetic diversity. Materials and methods. For the presence of Babesia spp./Theileria spp. and Anaplasma spp. has been researched659 horse blood samples, 579 sheep blood samples, 25 goat blood samples and 647 cattle blood samples. For the detection of babesia and theileria, nested two-round PCR with primers from the 18S rRNA gene region was used, and for the detection of anaplasma DNA with primers from the 16S rRNA gene region. For study the genetic diversity of the identified pathogens, selective sequencing of samples was carried out with subsequent phylogenetic analysis. Results. The DNA of Anaplasma spp. was detected in blood samples of small ruminants from 12 districts of the region. The infection rate of sheep and goats was 68.7±1.9% and 68%±9.3%, respectively. Nucleotide sequences of the 16S rRNA gene fragment were determined in 68 A. ovis samples from the blood of sheep and goats. The researched sequences were conservative for the studied gene and differed from each other in two heterozygous sites of the gene(T/C and G/A nucleotide substitutions).They corresponded to the sequences of the prototype strain Haibei (CP015994), as well as to the A. ovis sequences previously found in the blood of sheep from Altai (Russia) and Mongolia, deer and D. niveus and D. nuttalli ticks from China. DNA of Babesia spp./Theileria spp. found in blood samples of horses from 13 districts of the region. The average infection of horses was 64.2%±1.9%. Two etiological agents of equine piroplasmosis were found in the blood of the examined horses: T. equi (genetic groups A and E) and B. caballi. Definite sequences of the B. caballi 18S rRNA gene (700–1146 bp) were identical to each other and differed by at least ten substitutions and one deletion from the sequences available in the GenBank database. However, the greatest similarity was observed with B. caballi sequences found in the blood of a horse from Brazil (KY952238), ticks from Kazakhstan (MN907451) and China (MN173021). The results indicate that DNA of Anaplasma and Babesia in the blood of cattle have not been identified. Conclusion: The data received evidence a wide distribution of foci of small cattle anaplasmosis and piroplasmosis of horses in the Irkutsk region and the need to continue monitoring their epizootic condition.

ABSTRACT: Introduction. The complexity and laboriousness of system studies of physical and chemical processes in the volume and at the interface of the porous medium determines the need to apply mathematical modeling. This allows not only to identify and study the determining physical and chemical processes in a porous medium, but also to solve the problems of optimization and optimal control of processes and regimes by selecting the most favorable conditions. Methods and Materials. The method of mathematical modeling is used to study the processes, including the creation of composite and nanocomposite materials, as well as the moistening and moisture absorption in porous materials. In this context, the porous material is treated as a pseudohomogeneous medium with averaged physical and technological parameters. Results. The mathematical models of physical and chemical processes in the porous medium have been developed, the boundary conditions have been formulated, physical and effective constants have been determined. The processes in porous medium during metallization of carbon-graphite fibrous material, moistening of compacted textile material by an air flow, and moisture absorption by porous construction materials have been studied. Discussion. The adequacy of mathematical models to real physical and chemical processes is discussed. The results of calculations obtained by modeling equations implemented in the form of computer computational algorithms and experiments are compared. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the method for studying physical-chemical processes in a porous medium and for calculating optimal values of technological parameters has been established.

BACKGROUND: Currently, no systematic data are available on fetal radiation exposure as a result of radiographic studies during pregnancy. Consequently, there are no approved methods of its calculation that can be used in clinical practice. It is especially relevant for computed tomography scans as it is a widely used and highly informative method of diagnostic imaging associated with high exposure levels. AIM: to systematize currently available data on radiation dose absorbed by the fetus from computed tomography scans in pregnant women. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The search for publications in Russian and English was conducted in PubMed/Medline, Google Scholar and еLibrary. The final analysis included 12 papers including 8 studies using human body phantoms, 3 retrospective studies and one prospective clinical study. RESULTS: Abdominal and pelvic computed tomography scans as well as whole-body scans were found to be associated with the highest fetal radiation exposure. However, in none of the publications the fetal exposure limit was exceeded. CONCLUSION: Clinically indicated non-contrast-enhanced computed tomography scans in pregnant women are not likely to be associated with the fetal absorbed doses that exceed the limit of 100 mGy regardless of the scanned area. However, this limit might be exceeded in case of performing multiple studies or if multiphase abdominal or pelvic computed tomography scans, or whole-body computed tomography scans are performed in patients with multiple trauma. In these cases, a decision regarding the need for these investigations should be made by a multi-disciplinary team (including radiation safety specialists, diagnostic radiologists and clinicians) based on the results of additional risk assessment.

Introduction. Chronic venous diseases are a common group of diseases with a significant risk of complications requiring timely correction. As a rule, phlebotonic drugs based on flavonoid complexes are used for the treatment and prevention of venous diseases.Aim. To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of various phlebotonic drugs in the conditions of experimental chronic venous insufficiency.Materials and methods. Varicose veins were modeled in Wistar rats by partial stricture of the deep femoral vein. The studied medicines were administered orally in a course of 30 days from the moment of surgery. During the work, the change in the following parameters was evaluated: the rate oflocal blood flow in the skin in dynamics, the degree of vascular permeability, the concentration of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6) and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) in the vascular wall. The rate of local blood flow was assessed by ultrasound Dopplerography. The change of vascular permeability was studied by the degree of extravasation of the Evans blue dye in the Miles test. The content of proinflammatory cytokines and MMR9 was determined by enzyme-linked immunoassay. The results were statistically processed.Results. The study showed that the course oral administration of all the studied venotonizing drugs led to the restoration of hemodynamics and a significant (p˂ 0.05) decrease in the degree of vascular permeability in relation to untreated animals. It is worth noting that the use of a micronised purified flavonoid fraction 1 contributed to the development of a more pronounced vasal effect, which was reflected in an increase in blood flow velocity and a decrease in vascular permeability compared to the rest of the studied drugs. At the same time, the administration of micronised purified flavonoid fraction 1 to animals led to a statistically significant decrease in the concentration of proinflammatory cytokines, which was not observed when using other drugs.Conclusion. The course administration of the micronised purified flavonoid fraction 1leads to the development of a pronounced phlebotonic effect, expressed in the restoration of microcirculation, a decrease of the inflammation in the vascular wall.

The reasons of «failed» forecasts for catch of pink salmon at the mainland coast of the Tatar Strait are analyzed. The classical «stock–recruitment» models produce regular errors in the forecasts of runs of pacific salmon under changing conditions of reproduction. To reduce the prediction errors, these models should include parameters of meteorological conditions in the freshwater period of salmon life. In particular case of pink salmon in the Tatar Strait, a relationship is revealed between the year-class strength and precipitation in winter during the period of egg incubation. Including this factor to the model based on Ricker equation increases the proportion of certainty in the variance of recruitment by more than 30 %.

This article presents results of a study of bryophytes in seven caves of the Kutuk tract of the National Park «Bashkiria» of the Republic of Bashkortostan, including the largest cave in Bashkiria – Kutuk-Sumgan.Fifty-five bryophytes species were found in the studied caves. The dominant species in all caves was Timmia bavarica. The species composition of bryophytes of each cave is unique. Among identified bryophytes species 23, species were found only in one cave, and 11 species in 2 caves. During our survey, we found 31 species in Kutuk-Sumgan Cave, 21 species in Kutuk-2 and Kutuk-3 caves, 19 species in Kutuk-4 caves, 18 species in Vintovaya and Zigzag caves and 14 species in Kutuk-1 cave. Using the Jaccard and Phi-squared similarity indices, we revealed the stability of the bryoflora of the caves in different years and show its changes. Changes in the composition and structure of mosses in the Kutuk tract may be caused by mechanical influences. Benchmark similarity analysis allowed us to determine the influence of entrance morphology and glaciation in the photic zone of the caves on the composition of bryophytes.Using the Kutuk tract caves as an example, it is shown that in the primary analysis of the bryoflora, when selecting a characteristic cave, up to 40% of the total species composition of the caves can be identified in a single cave. The current study of Kutuk tract caves shows that identification of the primere analyses of bioflora permits identification of up to 40% of species composition of an individual cave.Three criteria for selecting a characteristic cave were identified: size of the photic zone and morphology of the entrance, diversity of habitats, and the least degree of disturbance.

ABSTRACT: Introduction. The current stage of the construction industry and building materials science development involves the introduction and widespread application of nano- and fine particles capable of improving the properties of traditional materials. However, it is necessary to provide stabilization of nano- and fine-dispersed components in the cement system. Plasticizing additives can be used as stabilizers. It is important to set their concentration. Therefore, the purpose of this study is outlined, which lays in the methodological substantiation the stabilizing effect of various types of plasticizers on the suspension of fine synthetic bismuth titanate used in the modification of cement systems, and the establishment of the limits of their optimal concentrations. Materials and methods. The research is aimed at establishing the limits of optimal concentrations of polycarboxylate and sulfonaphthalene formaldehyde plasticizers. The limits of plasticizers optimal concentrationsis determined withdye solubilization method, surface tension and conductometric methods, and studies on establishing the stabilizing effect of plasticizers on a bismuth titanate fine particles suspension. Results and discussion. To establish the limits of the optimal concentration capable of stabilizing fine particles of bismuth titanate in suspension, CMC is determined by the dye solubilization method, surface tension and conductometric methods. It is found that a polycarboxylate plasticizer is characterized by one CMC point, and a sulfonaphthalinformaldehyde plasticizer is characterized by two CMC points: CMC1 and CMC2. At CMC1 point unstable spherical micelles are formed, which turn into stable ones at the CMC2 point. At concentrations exceeding the CMC2 value, polymorphic transformations of spherical micelles into nonspherical asymmetric micelles occur. The same can be traced for the polycarboxylate plasticizer CMC only in one stage. It can also be concluded that it is not reasonable to increase the plasticizer concentration above CMC for polycarboxylate plasticizer and above CMC2 for sulfonaphthalinformaldehyde plasticizer, which is due to structural changes in the micelles of plasticizers. It is assumed that in order to stabilize bismuth titanate fine particles, it is necessary to choose the plasticizers concentration within the limits not exceeding the values of CMC for polycarboxylate plasticizer and CMC2 for sulfonaphthalinformaldehyde plasticizer. Conclusion. Concluding results demonstrate the limits of optimal plasticizers concentrations for the stabilization of bismuth titanate fine particles suspension. For polycarboxylate plasticizer this range of concentrations is 1.1 – 1.5 g/l; for sulfonaphthalinformaldehyde plasticizer its 2.2 – 4.0 g/l.

Antibiotics have traditionally been used to prevent and treat common diseases in farm animals. However, residual antibiotics in dairy products and meat remain a serious public health problem, which is associated with antibiotic resistance. The research objective was to assess the impact of antibiotic contamination on the quality and safety of dairy products, the microbiological composition of milk, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The study featured six years of Russian and foreign scientific articles registered in PubMed (National Center for Biotechnology Information, USA), Scopus and ScienceDirect (Elsevier, the Netherlands), Web of Science (Clarivate, USA), and eLibrary.ru. The analysis involved 63 foreign and domestic sources. Residual antibiotics in milk inhibits the vital activity of lactic acid bacteria, which, in its turn, disrupts the technological process of yogurts, cheeses, etc. After such processing as normalization, pasteurization, and homogenization, antibiotics accumulate in fermented dairy products and bind with milk proteins and fats. Antibiotics, in their initial amount, enter yoghurts from dairy raw materials. In cheese production, antibiotics usually pass into the whey, but aminoglycosides, quinolones, and tetracyclines remain in the finished product because they bind with the protein fraction. The problem of biological safety of dairy products is associated with antibiotic resistance developed by human intestinal microbiota. This problem remains understudied, and the number of scientific papers on the matter is limited.

ABSTRACT: Introduction. We studied the effect of nanosized silicon dioxide (SiO2 ) on the structural and technological characteristics of nanomodified cement compositions introduced together with activated mixing water. Materials and research methods. Activation of mixing water was carried out by means of magnetic field and ultrasonic action. For investigation the capability to maintain their properties for a long time, the stability of silica suspensions in activated water was studied. For finding out the effect of activated silica suspensions on the structure and properties of composite materials based on cement, the physical and mechanical properties of the studied compositions were explored. X-ray and differential thermal analysis of the hardened activated nanomodified cement paste were also carried out. Results and discussion. The positive role of the suspension of silicon dioxide in activated water was associated with a decrease in the microheterogeneity of the hardened cement paste, ensuring the stability of its physical and mechanical characteristics. Based on the above mentioned observations, a mechanism was proposed for more efficient incorporation of nanosized silicon dioxide into cement hydration processes both due to chemisorption with Ca(OH)2 in the hardening cement paste and due to the topological effect of nanoparticle localization in defects and ultramicrovoids of a crystallizing disperse system. Conclusion. The results show that suspensions of silica in activated water can maintain their properties for a long time. Graphical dependencies are shown, indicating the effectiveness of the use of activated silica suspensions in the production of cement composites. This quality makes it possible to obtain repair compounds with the required properties during construction work for various purposes.

The increase of functional food production makes the search for new non-traditional raw materials and the selection of methods for their processing relevant. Methods for obtaining biologically active substances of a lipid nature from valuable raw materials extracted from hunting animals (bear, badger, marmot and beaver) are of particular interest. The purpose of this review is to analyze the existing methods of obtaining rendered fat from raw fat and evaluate them. The objects of analysis were the data of scientific articles, patents and studies on the extraction of the lipid fraction from raw materials of animal origin from 2017 to 2021. In the work, various methods for extracting fats were considered. Their systematization, analyze, and description were carried out, indicating the advantages and disadvantages. The considered methods for extracting lipid components can be used in the process of rendering fat from non-traditional raw materials of animal origin. When using the dry rendering method, the heating of adipose tissue is carried out by the conductive method, which leads to oxidative processes and a decrease in the quality of the finished product. The wet rendering method is carried out by interacting raw fat with a heating agent – water or live steam, which, by varying the temperature and duration of exposure, allows to preserve the properties and quality of the product. Wet rendering methods are the most effective. These methods allow to obtain a high-quality finished product, as well as to produce the maximum yield of valuable lipid components of raw materials. To accelerate the technological process with the wet method of exposure, it is possible to use a biocatalytic method. The results of the research can be used in the development of schemes for obtaining biologically active substances of a lipid nature from valuable expensive raw materials extracted from hunting animals.

The article discusses the behavioral practices of a "new woman" in the conditions of mass famine in the early 1920s. It is noted that this social group was inconsiderable in number, but its influence in public life was very high. The author draws attention to the social origin of the representatives of this social group, the level of their education, the specifics of the worldview formation based on the ideals of universal equality and justice. It was noted that the behavior of the “new women” in conditions of mass starvation significantly differed from the generally accepted patterns, such as seeking help from the authorities, migrating to other regions, selling property, begging and other social deviations. The desire to contribute to the construction of a socialist society led to the ignorance of the problem of hunger and a reorientation from their daily life to social life. This was manifested in the behavior of the “new woman” in the form of collecting funds for the needs of the hungry, selfless work, refusal to relocate to prosperous areas. Social class background – origin from peasants and workers, high involvement in social activities, young age, membership in the Komsomol organisation were the factors that formed non-standard options for survival in the situation of mass famine among the “new women”. It is concluded that the conditions of hunger contributed to the strengthening of the social positions of the “new women”, their further advancement on the social ladder. The downside of strengthening the social position of the “new women” was the further erosion of the foundations of their traditional perception of the world based on family and motherhood.

The relevance of the research is caused by the need to identify factors affecting the development of deflationary processes of arid geosystems of the Tuva Republic. This will allow us to propose further measures to reduce the degradation of agricultural land and minimize the development of land desertification. Objective: assessment of climatic conditions and identification of anthropogenic factors of the potential danger of deflation to monitor changes in vulnerable geosystems and natural and anthropogenic processes. Objects: a section of the north-eastern (Russian) part of the Ubsunur basin within the Erzinsky district of the Tuva Republic. Methods: statistical analysis, regressions, moving average, comparative geographical method, interpretation of satellite images. Results. The dynamics of the climatic index of deflation based on the data of the Erzin weather station for 1966–2020 is analyzed; graphs of changes in the temperature regime, the amount of precipitation, wind speed are plotted; a linear trend of the distribution of the average annual temperature is revealed; coefficients of the climatic index of deflation and aridity indices are determined, graphs of their dynamics for the period under study are plotted; a tendency to weaken deflation is revealed; the studied landscapes are subarid on average, and according to the index fluctuation – from weakly arid (0,6–0,8) to arid (0,3) and subarid (0,5 –0,6).

Relevance. The long-term leadership of ARVI pathogens determines their significance in the damage caused to both health and the economy of the country. Aim. To identify the features of the structure of ARVI during the emergence and widespread spread of SARS-CoV-2. Materials and methods. The article uses methods used in epidemiological surveillance of acute respiratory viral infections. Results and discussion. The results of the diagnostic available ARVI pathogens monitoring during epidemic seasons 2018-2021 are presented. The tendency of greater engagement of aged group 15 y.o. and older in epidemic process by morbidity and hospitalization due to SARI was shown. 49 818 nasal swabs from patients with influenza infection, 36 044 – with ARVI and 59 062 – with SARS-CoV-2 were tested. The top three in the structure of ARVI were INF, HEV-D and HRSV (in the 2018–2019 season); INF, SARS-CoV-2 and HEV-D (2019–2020); SARS-CoV-2, HEV-D and HPIV/HCoV (2020–2021). The activity of viral pathogens also differed: for HPIV, HAdV, HEV-D, HMPV, a decrease in activity was noted during the appearance of SARS-CoV-2 (2019–2020) and some of its growth in the following season; in relation to HRSV and INF - a decrease in activity during the last two seasons, and for INF – extremely low activity in the 2020-2021 season; the activity of seasonal HCoV even increased slightly. The data of genetic analyses of SARS-CoV-2 positive samples showed the heterogeneity of its population with a representative of variants (Alfa, Delta) as well as endemic for Russia and Moscow variants only. The recommended composition of influenza virus vaccines for use in the 2021–2022 northern hemisphere influenza season and in the 2022 southern hemisphere influenza season are presented due to their drift changeability. Conclusions. SARS-CoV-2 was influenced by the activity of ARVI pathogens with the almost complete displacement of influenza viruses from the circulation in the period 2020–2021.

Data on forecasted catch, catch and effective catch utilization are presented for Pacific salmon and char. Also, analysis of fishing activities and their characteristics in 2021 is carried out. Quantitative estimates of spawners abundance, migration timing in rivers and catch dynamics are provided. Factors that drive expected and observed runs are considered. Efficiency of complex measures to support natural Pacific salmon reproduction is estimated. Preliminary forecast of Pacific salmon and char stocks for Khabarovsk Territory in 2021 should be acknowledged as generally satisfactory (reliability — 65.6 %). Several quota underutilization cases were linked to seasonal fishing restrictions and fish migrations peculiarities. Positive dynamics of fish at spawning grounds and incubation volumes at salmon hatcheries is elucidated. This supports prolongation of restrictions implemented in recent years.

Sialadenosis is a dystrophic disease of the salivary glands parenchyma, which leads to secretory disorders and hypertrophy of salivary glands. Sialadenitis develops in cases of secondary inflammation. Standard methods and medications for the treatment of sialadenosis lead to regression of clinical manifestations and remission. Usage of herbal extracts with prolonged action has a long-term local anti-inflammatory effect with minimal side effects, including those affecting oral mucosa. However, their use in the complex treatment of sialadenosis has been scarcely studied. Objective of our investigation was to estimate cytokine status dynamics in saliva from the parotid glands in the patients with sialadenosis and hypothyroidism during complex treatment which included the prolonged-action herbal remedy. 52 patients with sialadenosis of parotid salivary glands and hypothyroidism were divided into 2 groups: in the I group, 26 patients received basic therapy; in the II group, 26 patients received basic therapy + herbal drugs with prolonged effect as resorbable tablets. Control group consisted of 20 conditionally healthy people without disorders of parotid glands and thyroid gland. Comparative evaluation was performed 1 and 6 months after starting the treatment, with respect to clinical findings, sialometry and cytokine profile. The content of interleukins IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) was determined in saliva of parotid glands by ELISA technique. The 1st group of patients showed exacerbations within six months of basic treatment, and the sialometry data pointed to maintenance of decreased parotid function. In the 2nd group, when using basic treatment + herbal drugs, no clinical features of sialadenosis were evident within 6 months. The sialometry values were normalized, and the secretory function of the parotid glands was found to be increased. Therefore, it exerted an effect upon moisturization of oral mucosal and improvement quality of life in the patients. Regression of IL- 1β, IL-6 and TNF contents, and IL-10 increase in parotid gland secretions was significantly more pronounced at the terms of 1 and 6 months in cases treated with herbal drugs, compared to Group 1, where a conventional protocol was used. Addition of herbal drugs of prolonged action to the standard protocol of sialadenosis treatment is reasonable and effective.

Purpose. To estimate the accuracy of IOP measurement using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and applanation tonometry with fixed strength. Material and methods. 290 patients (576 eyes) underwent applanation tonometry according to Maklakov with tonometer weights of 5, 10, and 15 g using a modified elastotonometry technique followed by an analysis of impression quality and diameter measurements by three independent ophthalmologist experts. The prints were then fed into a neural network to check the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurements. Results. The comparison of the diameters of the Maklakov tonometer prints determined by AI based on the neural network with the measurements data provided by three experts showed that neural network underestimates the measurement results by an average of 0.27 (-3.81; 4.35) mm Hg. At the same time, the intraclass correlation coefficient for all prints was 98.3%. The accuracy of diameter measurements of prints by neural network differs for tonometers of different weights, e.g. for a 5 g tonometer the difference was 0.06 (-3.38; 3.49) mm Hg, for 10 g and 15 g tonometers was 0.14 (-3.8; 3.51) and 0.95 (-3.84; 5.74) mm Hg, respectively. Conclusion. High accuracy and reproducibility of the measurements by the neural network, was shown to surpass the reproducibility of human-implemented measurements.

The purpose of this work is to substantiate the study of the modern city as a system, to determine the main directions of the study of the social processes of the city in the categorical and methodological scheme of epistemology. The rationale for the relevance of this approach is the increasing social differentiation in cities, the polarization of local communities. The city, as a key form of the social system in its subject and communicative space, creates objects and processes for citizens, but does not always give the opportunity to participate in this creation and express their attitude to it. Scientific production aimed at obtaining new reliable knowledge about the urban system, focused on the knowledge of social processes and phenomena, as well as the study of this knowledge itself, is the resource that would improve the quality of life of citizens and optimize their interaction with municipal structures, change their civic position. Research methods used in the work: comparatively-historical, phenomenological, structural, functional, as well as systematic approach. The results of the work are to determine those cognitive categories (problem, theory, fact, method) on which it is necessary to build a productive and reliable urban research, to identify the role of knowledge in the construction of urban phenomena, to characterize the “resistance of the studied object”. The results of the study can be used both in the development of individual phenomenological aspects of urban sociology and for urban design

The article shows the dynamics of the stress-recovery balance of skaters in the context of individual psychological support programs. The study followed figure skaters 14–15 years old: athletes of the experimental group (n=15) underwent individually formed psychological support programs for three weeks, in the control group (n=15) directed psychological support was not implemented. The diagnostic tool is presented by "Stress recovery" questionnaire for athletes (E. Y. Kovbas, 2015). It was revealed that female athletes have difficulties with expectations regarding sports training and success in sports, insufficient use of psychological skills in preparing for a sports load and a decrease in the quality of sleep. hese positions were considered as targets of psychological influence, in accordance with which individual programs of psychological support were developed. Following the implementation of the programmes, a positive trend was observed in the balance of stress and recovery of skaters: the level of general and sporting recovery is increasing. The pilot group showed higher recovery rates and lower stress indicators. According to the results of the implementation of individually formed programs of psychological support, there was a shift in the balance of stress-recovery towards recovery.

The grain of rye (Secale cereale L.) used for baking contains a large amount of non-starch polysaccharides, making it an excellent component of functional foods. But rye grain intended for alcohol production and forage use should have a reduced content of these polysaccharides. A comprehensive parameter that can predict the best field of application for winter rye grain is the viscosity of its wholemeal water extract. However, our understanding of the genetic background underlying this key trait and associated features of rye grain is poor. By analyzing six Russian winter rye cultivars, we identified the most contrasting forms and characterized the peculiarities of their water-soluble carbohydrates capable of influencing the viscosity of water extracts. Then, using phylogenetic and transcriptomic analyses, we identified in the rye genome many genes encoding putative glycosyltransferases and glycosylhydrolases responsible for the synthesis and degradation of arabinoxylans, mixed-linkage glucans, cellulose, and some other polysaccharides. We determined the dynamics of mRNA abundance for these genes at three stages of kernel development. Comparisons of gene expression levels in two contrasting cultivars revealed specific members of multigene families that may serve as promising targets for manipulating non-starch polysaccharide content in rye grain. High-viscosity cultivars were characterized by up-regulation of many glycosyltransferases involved in the biosynthesis of arabinoxylans and other cell-wall polysaccharides, whereas low-viscosity cultivars showed up-regulation of several genes encoding polysaccharide-degrading enzymes.

Atherosclerosis (the main cause of a wide range of cardiovascular diseases) and other multifactorial diseases depend on several nutrition factors, defined in general by lifestyle that directly and constantly affects the human body. The modern level of science and technology development is able to form a diet, taking into account all personal characteristics in such a way that makes nutrition an effective preventive measure against diseases in order to keep a person healthy. The purpose of this article is to define and study all the limitations (the scope of its coverage in the scientific literature) that arose in the process of research aimed to formation of an integrated personal approach to designing of nutrition to prevent atherosclerosis. The object of the study was scientific literature, which is available in open source and free access databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, eLIBRARY.RU, www.fips.ru, Patentscope. The language of search is Russian and English, search depth is 12 years. In the course of the research two food design concepts were found that affect process of digitalization in the food sector: the concept “FoodTech” (food technology) and digital nutritiology. It was established that in Russia only one company — LLC “City Supermarket” (Moscow), that works with the brand “Azbuka Vkusa” — acts in the sphere of “FoodTech” on the Russian market. This company selects personalized food, taking into account the results of personal nutrigenetic tests, in cooperation with LLC “Genotech” (Moscow). There is a need to use biological information, statistical information processing (nutrigenetic studies, nutrigenomic research) and machine-aided data processing (machine learning) for further generation of automatic algorithm that compiles personal recommendations. The relevance of generation of a national domestic database on chemical composition of food products (presented in the market) to simplify the preparation of individual personal diets is observed. We underline the necessity to use the test-organisms, i. e. dorio fish / zebrafish (Danio rerio) and nematodes (Caenorhabditis elegans)), which were used to determine the activity of candidate substances — the biologically active substances that feature antiatherosclerotic properties. In the future the authors plan to conduct a nutrigenomic and nutrigenetic study, using digital achievements. To collect information about consumers, it is necessary to apply digital devices, and use biological informatics to process the results; after that it is necessary to generate the algorithm for automatic selection of personalized dietary recommendations.

Purpose: to develop a comprehensive algorithm for choosing the optimal method for monitoring and treating patients with primary openangle glaucoma (POAG). Material and methods. 30 patients with POAG, aged 30 to 86, underwent an ophthalmological examination which included visometry, standard automatic perimetry, tonometry, ophthalmoscopy, and biomicroscopy. The data obtained were evaluated on a point scale according to the innovative algorithm, on the basis of which a plan of patient management was recommended. Then the recommendation of the algorithm was compared with the suggestion of an expert specializing in the treatment of glaucoma. Results. The proposed innovative algorithm for treating POAG patients sets up four stages in the appointment of topical hypotensive therapy. When gaining a certain number of points, the algorithm recommends surgical treatment. The treatment tactics suggested by the algorithm, agreed with the opinion of glaucoma expert in most of the cases (27 out of 30 cases; 90%). Conclusion. An algorithm for the treatment of patients with POAG has been proposed and tested. The algorithm makes it possible to assess the progression of the glaucomatous process and select the optimal tactics for managing the patient in real time of examination.

Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) is a flavivirus which causes an acute or sometimes chronic infection that frequently has severe neurological consequences, and is a major public health threat in Eurasia. TBEV is genetically classified into three distinct subtypes; however, at least one group of isolates, the Baikal subtype, also referred to as "886-84-like", challenges this classification. Baikal TBEV is a persistent group which has been repeatedly isolated from ticks and small mammals in the Buryat Republic, Irkutsk and Trans-Baikal regions of Russia for several decades. One case of meningoencephalitis with a lethal outcome caused by this subtype has been described in Mongolia in 2010. While recombination is frequent in Flaviviridae, its role in the evolution of TBEV has not been established. Here, we isolate and sequence four novel Baikal TBEV samples obtained in Eastern Siberia. Using a set of methods for inference of recombination events, including a newly developed phylogenetic method allowing for formal statistical testing for such events in the past, we find robust support for a difference in phylogenetic histories between genomic regions, indicating recombination at origin of the Baikal TBEV. This finding extends our understanding of the role of recombination in the evolution of this human pathogen.

IntroductionPolybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are commercially used flame retardants that bioaccumulate in human tissues, including breast milk. PBDEs produce endocrine and metabolic disruption in experimental animals and have been associated with diabetes and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in humans, however, their sex-specific diabetogenic effects are not completely understood. Our past works show glucolipid dysregulation resulting from perinatal exposure to the commercial penta-mixture of PBDEs, DE-71, in C57BL/6 female mice.MethodsAs a comparison, in the current study, the effects of DE-71 on glucose homeostasis in male offspring was examined. C57BL/6N dams were exposed to DE-71 at 0.1 mg/kg/d (L-DE-71), 0.4 mg/kg/d (H-DE-71), or received corn oil vehicle (VEH/CON) for a total of 10 wks, including gestation and lactation and their male offspring were examined in adulthood.ResultsCompared to VEH/CON, DE-71 exposure produced hypoglycemia after a 11 h fast (H-DE-71). An increased fast duration from 9 to 11 h resulted in lower blood glucose in both DE-71 exposure groups. In vivo glucose challenge showed marked glucose intolerance (H-DE-71) and incomplete clearance (L- and H-DE-71). Moreover, L-DE-71-exposed mice showed altered glucose responses to exogenous insulin, including incomplete glucose clearance and/or utilization. In addition, L-DE-71 produced elevated levels of plasma glucagon and the incretin, active glucagon-like peptide-1 (7-36) amide (GLP-1) but no changes were detected in insulin. These alterations, which represent criteria used clinically to diagnose diabetes in humans, were accompanied with reduced hepatic glutamate dehydrogenase enzymatic activity, elevated adrenal epinephrine and decreased thermogenic brown adipose tissue (BAT) mass, indicating involvement of several organ system targets of PBDEs. Liver levels of several endocannabinoid species were not altered.DiscussionOur findings demonstrate that chronic, low-level exposure to PBDEs in dams can dysregulate glucose homeostasis and glucoregulatory hormones in their male offspring. Previous findings using female siblings show altered glucose homeostasis that aligned with a contrasting diabetogenic phenotype, while their mothers displayed more subtle glucoregulatory alterations, suggesting that developing organisms are more susceptible to DE-71. We summarize the results of the current work, generated in males, considering previous findings in females. Collectively, these findings offer a comprehensive account of differential effects of environmentally relevant PBDEs on glucose homeostasis and glucoregulatory endocrine dysregulation of developmentally exposed male and female mice.

The review is devoted to the appearance of resistance of a slowly developing disease leprosy to antimicrobial therapy (AMP), primarily recommended by the World Health Organization. The main danger of drug resistant leprosy is in the difficulty of identifying, since the causative agent of the disease is not cultivated on artificial media, and the methods for diagnosing drug resistance that are currently used take a long time. The drug resistance of the Mycobacterium leprae strain even to individual components of combination drug therapy result to the development of symptoms of the disease despite undergo anti-leprosy therapy, which in turn can cause the patient to become disabled. Currently, in the Russian Federation, there is no approved test for detecting Mycobacterium leprae DNA, and the determination of genetic determinants of resistance is carried out by sequencing genome regions determined by WHO recommendations: small gyrA, folP and rpoB genes loci. At the same time, modern studies in endemic regions reveal an increased level of Mycobacterium leprae strains resistant to individual components of combined drug therapy. The use of next generation sequencing (NGS) has made it possible to identify additional genetic determinants of leprosy resistance to the components of combination drug therapy. The current situation is relevant to antimicrobal drug resistance surveillance by using of quick identification systems for most frequent genetic resistance determinants of Mycobacterium leprae. The literature search was carried out using keywords in the Scopus, PubMed and RSCI databases.

Relevance. To meet the needs of the population and commodity producers in the south of Russia in tomatoes, it is necessary to develop varieties and hybrids of various directions that have high productivity, increased fruit quality and resistance to fungal and bacterial diseases, that meet modern production technologies and market requirements, as well as have an acceptable price for seeds.Aim of study – creation of new maternal tomato lines with functional male sterility for open ground for various purposes (for fresh consumption, whole-fruit canning,), which will make it possible to create highly productive hybrids that meet the agro-climatic conditions of the south of Russia in the future.Materials and methods. The studies were carried out in a breeding film greenhouse and in field conditions on the territory of the experimental plot of FSBSI "Federal Scientific Rice Centre" of the central soil-climatic zone of Krasnodar region. The object of research were mid-ripening tomato varieties included in the competitive testing, sterile tomato lines, new F1 hybrids based on FMS, collection and breeding material. The types of crosses used in the work: analyzing, saturating, top-crosses. To speed up the process of developing new sterile tomato lines in winter, artificial climate chambers were used.Results. As a result of the research, promising new functionally sterile lines of tomato were identified, differing in the length of the vegetation period, weight, color, fruit shape, biochemical parameters, with a number of useful economically valuable traits.
