Abstract

A two-step procedure for utilization of cellulose nitrate waste accumulated at industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation was suggested and experimentally checked. The procedure involves hydrolysis of cellulose nitrate in alkaline medium and incineration of hydrolysis products. The best reagents for complete hydrolysis of cellulose nitrate are aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate. As demonstrated by thermal analysis and thermodynamic calculations, incineration of cellulose nitrate base hydrolysis products can be performed without using hydrocarbon fuel.

Abstract

Adamantylation of mono-and dinitro-substituted aromatic amines in sulfuric and phosphoric acids and in a mixture of phosphoric and acetic acids gives mainly the corresponding N-adamantyl derivatives. The results of kinetic measurements showed reversible character of the process.

The reactions of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine, methylhydrazine, and hydrazine hydrate with 5-aryl-2-chloromethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were studied. The structures and compositions of the final products were confirmed by 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.

Abstract

Adamantylation of indazole and its C-nitro derivatives with 1-hydroxyadamantane in mineral acids yields exclusively the corresponding 1-(1-adamantyl)indazoles via attack by 1-adamantyl cation on the protonated substrate. The oxidative alkylation with 1-iodoadamantane leads to formation of 1- and 2-(1-adamantyl)indazoles, the 2-isomer prevailing.
