Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fraction, the polarization parameters and CP-violating asymmetries in B0→D*+D *- decays using a 140 fb-1 data sample collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. We obtain B(B0→D*+D*-)=[0. 81±0.08(stat)±0.11(syst)]×10-3, R⊥=0.19±0. 08(stat)±0.01(syst), R0=0.57±0.08(stat)±0.02(syst), S=-0.75±0.56(stat)±0.12(syst) and A=-0.26±0.26(stat) ±0.06(syst). Consistency with Standard Model expectations is also discussed.

Abstract: We present spectra of prompt electrons from decays of neutral and charged B mesons. The results are based on 140 fb −1 of data collected by the Belle detector on the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance at the KEKB e + e − asymmetric collider. We tag ϒ ( 4 S ) → B B ¯ events by reconstructing a B meson in one of several hadronic decay modes; the semileptonic decay of the other B meson is inferred from the presence of an identified electron. We obtain for charged and neutral B mesons the partial rates of semileptonic decay, to electrons with momentum greater than 0.6 GeV / c in the B rest frame, and their ratio b + / b 0 = 1.08 ± 0.05 ± 0.02 , where the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.

Abstract: We report measurements of radiative B decays with K η γ final states, using a data sample of 253 fb −1 recorded at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − storage ring. We observe B + → K + η γ for the first time with a branching fraction of ( 8.4 ± 1.5 (stat) −0.9 +1.2 (syst) ) × 10 −6 for M K η 2.4 GeV / c 2 , and find evidence of B 0 → K 0 η γ . We also search for B → K 3 ∗ ( 1780 ) γ .

Abstract: We report a measurement of the Ξ c + and Ξ c 0 baryon masses, and the branching ratios for various Ξ c decays, using 140 fb −1 of data collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e + e − collider. The mass splitting m Ξ c 0 − m Ξ c + is found to be 2.9 ± 0.5 MeV / c 2 ; this measurement is three times as precise as the current world average. We measure the branching ratios Γ ( Ξ c + → Λ K − π + π + ) / Γ ( Ξ c + → Ξ − π + π + ) = 0.32 ± 0.03 ± 0.02 and Γ ( Ξ c 0 → p K − K − π + ) / Γ ( Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + ) = 0.33 ± 0.03 ± 0.03 , with improved precision, and measure Γ ( Ξ c + → p K S 0 K S 0 ) / Γ ( Ξ c + → Ξ − π + π + ) = 0.087 ± 0.016 ± 0.014 , Γ ( Ξ c 0 → Λ K − π + ) / Γ ( Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + ) = 1.07 ± 0.12 ± 0.07 and Γ ( Ξ c 0 → Λ K S 0 ) / Γ ( Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + ) = 0.21 ± 0.02 ± 0.02 for the first time.

Abstract: We report the observation of B0 decays to the K+π-π0 final state using a data sample of 78 fb-1 collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. With no assumptions about intermediate states in the decay, the branching fraction is measured to be (36.6-4.3+4.2±3.0)×10-6. We also search for B decays to intermediate two-body states with the same K+π-π0 final state. Significant B signals are observed in the ρ(770)-K+ and K*(892)+π- channels, with branching fractions of (15.1-3.3-1.5-2.1+3.4+1.4+2.0)×10-6 and (14.8-4.4-1.0-0.9+4.6+1.5+2.4) ×10-6, respectively. The first error is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the largest possible interference. Contributions from other possible two-body states will be discussed. No CP asymmetry is found in the inclusive K+π-π0 or ρ-K+ modes, and we set 90% confidence level bounds on the asymmetry of -0.12

Abstract: We have searched for neutrinoless τ lepton decays into three charged leptons using an 87.1fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. Since the number of signal candidate events is compatible with that expected from the background, we set 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (1.9-3.5)×10-7 for various decay modes τ -→l-l+l- where l represents e or μ. © 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: Inclusive differential cross sections dsigma(pA)/dx(F) and dsigma(pA)/dp(t)(2) for the production of K-S(0), Lambda, and (U) over bar particles are measured at HERA in proton-induced reactions on C, Al, Ti, and W targets. The incident beam energy is 920 GeV, corresponding to roots = 41.6 GeV in the proton-nucleon system. The ratios of differential cross sections dsigma(pA)(K-S(0))/dsigma(pA)(Lambda) and dsigma(pA)((U) over bar)/dsigma(pA) (Lambda) are measured to be 6.2 +/- 0.5 and 0.66 +/- 0.07, respectively, for x(F) approximate to -0.06. No significant dependence upon the target material is observed. Within errors, the slopes of the transverse momentum distributions da,Ald t also show no significant dependence upon the target material. The dependence of the extrapolated total cross sections sigma(pA) on the atomic mass A of the target material is discussed, and the deduced cross sections per nucleon sigma(pN) are compared with results obtained at other energies.

Abstract: We have searched for a T/CP violation signature arising from an electric dipole form factor (d_tau) of the tau lepton in the e+e- -> tau+tau- reaction. Using an optimal observable method for 29.5 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider at sqrt{s}=10.58 GeV, we obtained the preliminary result Re(d_tau) = (1.15 +- 1.70) x 10^{-17} ecm and Im(d_tau) = (-0.83 +- 0.86) x 10^{-17} ecm for the real and imaginary parts of d_tau, respectively, and set the 95% confidence level limits -2.2 < Re(d_tau) < 4.5 (10^{-17} ecm) and -2.5 < Im(d_tau) < 0.8 (10^{-17} ecm)., Invited talk at the Seventh International Workshop on Tau Lepton Physics (TAU02), Santa Cruz, Ca, USA, Sept 2002, 8 pages, LaTeX, 19 eps figures

Abstract: We report on a study of $\bar{B^{0}} \to D^{(*) 0} \pi^+ \pi^-$ decays using 29.1 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation data recorded at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB storage ring. Making no assumptions about the intermediate mechanism, the branching fractions for $\bar{B}^0 \to D^0 \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0 \to D^{* 0} \pi^+ \pi^-$ are determined to be $(8.0 \pm 0.6 \pm 1.5) \times 10^{-4} $ and $ (6.2 \pm 1.2 \pm 1.8) \times 10^{-4}$ respectively. An analysis of $\bar{B^{0}} \to D^{0} \pi^+ \pi^-$ candidates yields to the first observation of the color-suppressed hadronic decay $\bar{B}^0 \to D^0 \rho^0$ with the branching fraction $(2.9 \pm 1.0 \pm 0.4) \times 10^{-4}$. We measure the ratio of branching fractions ${\mathcal B}(\bar{B^0} \to D^0 \rho^0) / {\mathcal B}(\bar{B^0} \to D^0 \omega)$ = 1.6 $\pm$ 0.8.

Abstract: Using data collected by the HERA-B experiment, we have measured the fraction of J\psi's produced via radiative chi_c decays in interactions of 920 GeV protons with carbon and titanium targets. We obtained R_{\chi_c} = 0.32 \pm 0.06_{stat} \pm 0.04_{sys} for the fraction of J\psi from chi_c decays averaged over proton-carbon and proton-titanium collisions. This result is in agreement with previous measurements and is compared with theoretical predictions., Comment: 16 pages, 5 figs

Abstract: Using the HERA-B detector, the b-bbar production cross section has been measured in 920 GeV proton collisions on carbon and titanium targets. The b-bbar production was tagged via inclusive bottom quark decays into J/psi, by exploiting the longitudinal separation of J/psi->ll decay vertices from the primary proton-nucleus interaction. Both $e^+e^-$ and $\mu^+\mu^-$ channels have been reconstructed and the combined analysis yields the cross section $\sigma(b \bar b) = 32 ^{+14}_{-12} (stat) ^{+6}_{-7} (sys) nb/nucleon$., Comment: 22 pages, 10 Postscript figures

Abstract: We present measurements of CP-violating parameters in $B^0(\bar{B}{}^0) \to \eta^\prime K_S^0$ and $B^{\pm} \to \eta' K^{\pm}$ decays based on a 41.8 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^{+} e^{-}$ collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral $B$ meson as a $B^0(\bar{B}{}^0) \to \eta^\prime K_S^0$ CP eigenstate and identify the flavor of the accompanying $B$ from its decay products. From the distribution of time intervals between pairs of $B$ meson decay points, we obtain the CP-violating asymmetry parameters ${\mathcal S}_{\eta^\prime K_S^0} = 0.28\pm0.55(stat)^{+0.07}_{-0.08}(syst)$, and ${\mathcal A}_{\eta^\prime K_S^0} = 0.13\pm0.32(stat)^{+0.09}_{-0.06}(syst)$. We also reconstruct charged $B^{\pm} \to \eta^\prime K^{\pm}$ decays and determine a direct-CP violating asymmetry value of ${\mathcal A}_{\eta^\prime K^\pm}=(-1.5\pm7.0(stat)\pm0.9(syst))%$.

Abstract: The B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{(*)0} decays have been observed for the first time. The branching fractions of the B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{(*)0} decay modes are measured. Significant signals are found for the B -> D^{(*)} K^- K^{*0} and B^- -> D^0 K^- K^0_S decay modes. The invariant mass and polarization distributions for the K^-K^{*0} and K^-K^0_S subsystems have been studied. For the K^-K^{*0} sybsystem these distributions agree well with those expected for two-body B -> D^{(*)} a_1^-(1260) decays, with a_1^-(1260) -> K^- K^{*0}. The analysis was done using 29.4 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the e^+ e^- asymmetric collider KEKB.

Abstract: This paper describes a study of B meson decays to the pseudoscalar-vector final state \rho\pi using 31.9\times 10^6 B\bar{B} events collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. The branching fractions B(B^+ \to \rho^0\pi^+) = (8.0^{+2.3+0.7}_{-2.0-0.7}) \times 10^{-6} and B(B^0 -> \rho^{+-} \pi^{-+}) = (20.8^{+6.0+2.8}_{-6.3-3.1}) \times 10^{-6} are obtained. In addition, a 90% confidence level upper limit of B(B^0 \to \rho^0\pi^0) < 5.3 \times 10^{-6}is reported.

Abstract: The production of the \chi_{c2} charmonium state in two-photon collisions has been measured with the Belle detector at the KEKB e^+e^- collider. A clear signal for \chi_{c2} --> \gamma J/\psi, J/\psi --> l^+l^- is observed in a 32.6fb^{-1} data sample accumulated at center-of-mass energies near 10.6GeV, and the product of its two-photon decay width and branching fraction is determined to be \Gamma_{\gamma\gamma}(\chi_{c2})B(\chi_{c2} --> \gamma J/\psi) B(J/\psi --> l^+l^-)= 13.5 +/- 1.3(stat.) +/- 1.1(syst.)eV., Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, to be submitted to Phys. Abstract: We present a measurement of the branching fraction for the semileptonic B decay B 0 →D + l − ν , where l− can be either an electron or a muon. We find Γ( B 0 →D + l − ν )=(13.79±0.76±2.51) ns −1 , and the resulting branching fraction B ( B 0 →D + l − ν )=(2.13±0.12±0.39)% , where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We also investigate the B 0 →D + l − ν form factor and the implications of the result for |Vcb|. From a fit to the differential decay distribution we obtain the rate normalization |Vcb|FD(1)=(4.11±0.44±0.52)×10−2. Using a theoretical calculation of FD(1), the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa matrix element |Vcb|=(4.19±0.45±0.53±0.30)×10−2 is obtained, where the last error comes from the theoretical uncertainty of FD(1). The results are based on a data sample of 10.2fb−1 recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e− collider.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) matrix element |Vcb| using a 10.2 fb−1 data sample recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e− storage ring. By extrapolating the differential decay width of the B 0 →D ∗+ e − ν decay to the kinematic limit at which the D ∗+ is at rest with respect to the B 0 , we extract the product of |Vcb| with the normalization of the decay form factor F(1), |Vcb|F(1)=(3.54±0.19±0.18)×10−2, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. A value of |Vcb|=(3.88±0.21±0.20±0.19)×10−2 is obtained using a theoretical calculation of F(1), where the third error is due to the theoretical uncertainty in the value of F(1). The branching fraction B ( B 0 →D ∗+ e − ν ) is measured to be (4.59±0.23±0.40)×10−2.

Abstract: The muon detector of the HERA-B experiment at DESY (Hamburg, Germany) is a gaseous detector that provides muon identification in a high-rate environment. Pairs of muons with an invariant mass in the region of the J//spl psi/, meson ensure the first-level trigger for the experiment. Three different types of gas proportional chambers are employed: tube, pad, and pixel. The muon detector is fully installed and has been continuously running since November 1999. A clear signal for J//spl psi//spl rarr//spl mu//spl mu/, is reconstructed from data taken during the commissioning run. Design of the muon system as well as experience gained with detector commissioning are presented in this paper. The severe radiation environment of the HERA-B experiment leads to a maximum charge deposit on a wire, within the muon detector, of 200 mC/cm per year. We report recent results of aging studies performed by irradiating proportional wire chambers filled with Ar/CF/sub 4/,/CK and Ar/CF/sub 4//CO/sub 2/ mixtures under various conditions. These results show that aging rates obtained by irradiating a small region of the wire with a radioactive source cannot be extrapolated to the irradiation of large areas in an environment of hadronic interactions. Our experience shows that the aging rate depends not only on the total collected charge but also on the mode of operation and area of irradiation.

Abstract: The high-P T trigger provides valuable extension for the physics capabilities of HERA-B fixed target experiment. Trigger performs fast and effective selection of various B meson decay modes important for CP violation and B s mixing rate measurements. HERA-B high-P T trigger is built up of three layers of gas detectors placed inside the magnet area. Tests with full-scale detector modules have been done in real conditions. The installation of trigger components in the HERA-B detector is nearly completed.

Abstract: Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e- storage ring DORIS II, we have searched for the real and imaginary part of the electric dipole formfactor d_tau of the tau lepton in the production of tau pairs at q^2=100 GeV^2. This is the first direct measurement of this CP violating formfactor. We applied the method of optimised observables which takes into account all available information on the observed tau decay products. No evidence for CP violation was found, and we derive the following results: Re(d_tau)=(1.6+-.9)*10^(-16) ecm and Im(d_tau)=(-0.2+-0.8)*10^(-16) ecm, where statistical and systematic errors have been combined., 8 pages, 5 figures (10 subfigures)

Abstract: Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e− storage ring DORIS II at DESY, we have found evidence for the production of the excited charmed baryon state Λc(2593)+ in the channel Λc+π+π−. Its mass was determined to be (2594.6±0.9±0.4) MeV/c2, and the natural width measured to be Γ = (2.9−2.1−1.4+2.9+1.8) MeV. The production cross section times the branching ratios of σ(e+e− → Λc(2593)+X) × Br(Λc(2593)+ → Λc+π+π−) × Br(Λc+ → pK−π+) was measured to be (0.25−0.13+0.24 ±0.13) pb. The fractions of Λc(2593)+ decays proceeding through the Σc0π+ and Σc++π− channels were determined to be 0.29±0.10±0.11 and 0.37±0.12±0.13, respectively.

Abstract: Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e− storage ring DORIS II at DESY, we have made two measurements of the mixing parameter χd using kaons as flavour tags. Using D∗+ K± correlations we found χd = 0.20 ± 0.13 ± 0.12 and from the study of (D∗+l−) K± correlations we obtained χd = 0.19 ± 0.07 ± 0.09. The branching ratio for B → D∗+ X has been updated: Br(B → D∗+ X) = (19.6 ± 1.9)%. We have also determined the average multiplicity of charged kaons in B0 decays to be 0.78 ± 0.08.

Abstract: A maximum likelihood analysis of ARGUS data on two-photon production of π+π+π0π0π−π− is presented. A small fraction of events is due to the production of omega pairs. The γγ → ωω cross section has its maximum value close to threshold.

Abstract: Using the ARGUS detector at the e + e − storage ring DORIS II, we have measured the semileptonic branching ratios of the D 0 meson to be Br ( D 0 → e + ν e X ) = (6.9 ± 0.3 ± 0.5) % and Br ( D 0 → μ + ν μ X ) = (6.0 ± 0.7 ± 1.2) %, and the semileptonic branching ratio of the charmed hadron mixture from e + e − annihilation around 10 GeV to be Br ( c → e + ν e X ) = (9.6 ± 0.4 ± 1.1) %.

Abstract: Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e− storage ring DORIS II at DESY we have measured the parameters of a charmed strange meson D* s2 + (2573) decaying into D0K+. The mass of this state was found to be (2574.5±3.3±1.6) MeV/c 2. The measured value of its width is (10.4±8.3±3.0) MeV and the product of the production cross section and branching ratio for this channel was determined to be (10.6±4.2 −1.2 +2.3 ) pb.

Abstract: The HERA-B experiment is designed to study beauty particle production and decay using the HERA 920 GeV proton beam interactions with an internal target. The Muon detector provides identification for muons having momenta greater than 5 GeV/c and triggering on the muon pair from J/ψ decay. Three different chamber types are employed for operation in a high-rate environment. The overall design, performance and current status are discussed.

Abstract: High-pT trigger at HERA-B experiment could be used to make fast selection of B → π+ π−, B → K+ π− and other important decay modes. The trigger includes three layers of gas pixel chambers and straw tubes with cathode pad readout. Various tests of hardware prototypes have been done. The off-line analysis simulation shows that acceptable signal to background ratio could be achieved.

Abstract: We report on the first observation of D10(2420)→D0π-π+ and D1+(2420)→D+π-π+ decays (where the contribution from the dominant known D1→D*π decay mode is excluded) in the B-→D10π- and B0→D1+π- decays, respectively. The observation is based on 15.2×107 BB events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. We also set 90% confidence level upper limits for the branching fractions of the four following decays: B-→D10π-, D10→D *0π-π+, B0→D1+π-, D1+→D*+π-π+, B-→D2*0(2460)π-, D2*0→D*0π-π+, B0→D2*+(2460)π-, D2*+→D*+π-π+. © 2005 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report measurements of B to pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar decays with at least one {eta} meson in the final state using 140 fb{sup -1} of data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. We observe the decay B{sup +}{yields}{eta}{pi}{sup +} and find evidence of B{sup +}{yields}{eta}K{sup +}; the measured branching fractions are B(B{sup +}{yields}{eta}{pi}{sup +})=(4.8{sub -0.7}{sup +0.8}(stat){+-}0.3(sys))x10{sup -6} and B(B{sup +}{yields}{eta}K{sup +})=(2.1{+-}0.6(stat){+-}0.2(sys))x10{sup -6}. Their corresponding CP violating asymmetries are measured to be 0.07{+-}0.15(stat){+-}0.03(sys) for {eta}{pi}{sup {+-}} and -0.49{+-}0.31(stat){+-}0.07(sys) for {eta}K{sup {+-}}. No significant signals are found for neutral B{yields}{eta}h decays. We report the following upper limits on branching fractions at the 90% confidence level: B(B{sup 0}{yields}{eta}K{sup 0})

Measurements of branching fractions for quasi-two-body decays to scalar-pseudoscalar states: B+ -> f(0)(980)K+, B+ -> K-0(*)(1430)(0)pi(+), and to vector-pseudoscalar states: B+ -> K-*(892)(0)pi(+), B+ -> rho(0)K(+), B+ -> phi K+ are presented. Upper limits on decays to some pseudoscalar-tensor final states are reported. We also report the measurement of the B+ -> chi(c0)K(+) branching fraction in two chi(c0) decays channels: chi(c0) -> pi(+)pi(-) and chi(c0) -> K+K-.

Abstract: We report the observation of the decay B0-->pi(0)pi(0), using a 253 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The measured branching fraction is B(B0-->pi(0)pi(0))=(2.3(+0.4+0.2)(-0.5-0.3))x10(-6), with a significance of 5.8 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. We also make a measurement of the direct CP violating asymmetry in this mode.

Abstract: We present a precise measurement of the standard model $CP$-violation parameter $\mathrm{sin} 2{\ensuremath{\phi}}_{1}$, the direct $CP$ violation parameter $|\ensuremath{\lambda}|$, the lifetimes of charged and neutral $B$ mesons and their ratio, and the ${B}^{0}$-${\overline{B}}^{0}$ mixing parameter $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}$ based on a sample of $152\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs collected at the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. One of two $B$ mesons is fully reconstructed in a $CP$-eigenstate or a flavor-eigenstate decay channel. The flavor of the accompanying $B$ meson is identified from its decay products. From the distributions of the time interval between the two $B$ meson decay points, we obtain $\mathrm{sin} 2{\ensuremath{\phi}}_{1}=0.728\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.056(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.023(\mathrm{syst})$, $|\ensuremath{\lambda}|=1.007\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.041(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.033(\mathrm{syst})$, ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{{B}^{0}}=[1.534\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.008(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.010(\mathrm{syst})]\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{ps}$, ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{{B}^{+}}=[1.635\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.011(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.011(\mathrm{syst})]\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{ps}$, ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{{B}^{+}}/{\ensuremath{\tau}}_{{B}^{0}}=1.066\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.008(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.008(\mathrm{syst})$ and $\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}_{d}=[0.511\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.005(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.006{(\mathrm{syst})]\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{ps}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$. The results for $\mathrm{sin} 2{\ensuremath{\phi}}_{1}$ and $|\ensuremath{\lambda}|$ are consistent with the standard model expectations. The significance of the observed deviation from unity in the lifetime ratio exceeds 5 standard deviations.

Abstract: We present a time-dependent analysis of CP violation in B0-->rho(+/-)pi(-/+) decays based on a 140 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. We obtain the charge asymmetry A(rhopi)(CP)=-0.16+/-0.10(stat)+/-0.02(syst). An unbinned maximum-likelihood fit to the Deltat distributions yields C(rhopi)=0.25+/-0.17(stat)+0.02-0.06(syst), DeltaC(rhopi)=0.38+/-0.18(stat)+0.02-0.04(syst), S(rhopi)=-0.28+/-0.23(stat)+0.10-0.08(syst), and DeltaS(rhopi)=-0.30+/-0.24(stat)+/-0.09(syst). The direct CP violation parameters for B-->rho(+)pi(-) and B-->rho(-)pi(+) decays are A(+-)(rhopi)=-0.02+/-0.16(stat)+0.05-0.02(syst) and A(-+)(rhopi)=-0.53+/-0.29(stat)+0.09-0.04(syst).

Abstract: The decays ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ are studied for the first time. A significant signal is observed in the ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}^{*}(2317{)}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay channel with $\mathcal{B}\mathbf{(}{\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}^{*}(2317{)}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}\mathbf{)}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\mathcal{B}\mathbf{(}{D}_{sJ}^{*}(2317{)}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{s}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}\mathbf{)}=({5.3}_{\ensuremath{-}1.3}^{+1.5}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.7\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.4)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$. No signals are observed in the ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}^{*}(2317{)}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$, ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}(2460{)}^{+}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$, and ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}_{sJ}(2460{)}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ decay modes, and upper limits are obtained. The analysis is based on a data set of $140\text{ }{\mathrm{f}\mathrm{b}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected by the Belle experiment at the asymmetric ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider KEKB.

Abstract: We report improved measurements of the partial rate asymmetry (Acp) in B -> h h decays with 140fb^-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. Here h stands for a charged or neutral pion or kaon and in total five decay modes are included: K-+ pi+-, K0s pi-+, K-+ pi0, pi-+ pi0 and K0s pi0. The flavor of the last decay mode is determined from the accompanying B meson. Using a data sample 4.7 times larger than that of our previous measurement, we find Acp(K-+ pi+-) -0.088+-0.035+-0.013, 2.4 sigma from zero. Results for other decay modes are also presented.

Abstract: We report the observation of the decay B0--pi(0)pi(0), using a 253 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The measured branching fraction is B(B0--pi(0)pi(0))=(2.3(+0.4+0.2)(-0.5-0.3))x10(-6), with a significance of 5.8 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. We also make a measurement of the direct CP violating asymmetry in this mode.

Abstract: The CP asymmetry parameters in the decay B0(B0) → J/ψπ0, were described. The measurement of the CP asymmetry parameters was based on a 140 fb-1 data sample, which was accumulated at the γ(4S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. It was observed that one neutral B meson flavor was identified by its decay products. The results show values of the CP-violating parameters were found to be of the order of S J/ψπ o = -0.72∓0.42(stat)∓0.09(syst) and AJ/ψπ 0 = -0.01∓0.29(stat)∓0. 03(syst).

Abstract: We report a study of the suppressed decays B---[K(+)pi(-)](D)K- and B---[K(+)pi(-)](D)pi(-), where [K(+)pi(-)](D) indicates that the K+pi(-) pair originates from a neutral D meson. These decay modes are sensitive to the unitarity triangle angle varphi(3). We use a data sample containing 275 x 10(6) BB pairs recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e(+)e(-) storage ring. The signal for B---[K(+)pi(-)](D)K- is not statistically significant, and we set a limit r(B)0.27 at 90% confidence level, where r(B) is the magnitude of the ratio of amplitudes |A(B---D 0K-)/A(B---D0K-)|. We observe a signal with 6.4sigma statistical significance in the related mode, B---[K(+)pi(-)](D)pi(-).

Abstract: We report the first observation of a number of decay modes of the B meson, namely B{sup 0}{yields}D*{sup -}(5{pi}){sup +}, B{sup +}{yields}D*{sup -}(4{pi}){sup ++}, and B{sup +}{yields}D*{sup 0}(5{pi}){sup +}, where (n{pi}) implies the combination of n charged pions. The analysis is based on a 140 fb{sup -1} data sample collected at the {upsilon}(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. We measure B[B{sup 0}{yields}D*{sup -}(5{pi}){sup +}]=(4.72{+-}0.59{+-}0.71)x10{sup -3}, B[B{sup +}{yields}D*{sup -}(4{pi}){sup ++}]=(2.56{+-}0.26{+-}0.33)x10{sup -3}, and B[B{sup +}{yields}D*{sup 0}(5{pi}){sup +}]=(5.67{+-}0.91{+-}0.85)x10{sup -3}. We also provide improved measurements of the branching fractions for the decay modes B{sup 0}{yields}D*{sup -}(3{pi}){sup +}, B{sup +}{yields}D*{sup 0}(3{pi}){sup +}, and B{sup 0}{yields}D*{sup 0}(4{pi}){sup 0}.

Abstract: We report the first observation of the charmless hyperonic B decay, B+-->LambdaLambdaK+, using a 140 fb(-1) data sample recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB (e+)(e-) collider. The measured branching fraction is B(B+-->LambdaLambdaK+) = (2.91(+0.90)(-0.70) +/- 0.38) x 10(-6). We also perform a search for the related decay mode B+-->LambdaLambdapi+, but do not find a significant signal. We set a 90% confidence-level upper limit of B(B+-->LambdaLambdapi+) < 2.8 x 10(-6).

Abstract: The decays B0--D+sJK- and B0--D-sJpi+ are studied for the first time. A significant signal is observed in the B0--D*sJ(2317)+K- decay channel with B(B0--D*sJ(2317)+K-) x B(D*sJ(2317)+--D+spi0)=(5.3(+1.5)(-1.3)+/-0.7+/-1.4) x 10(-5). No signals are observed in the B0--D*sJ(2317)-pi+, B0--DsJ(2460)+K-, and B 0--DsJ(2460)-pi+ decay modes, and upper limits are obtained. The analysis is based on a data set of 140 fb(-1) collected by the Belle experiment at the asymmetric e+e- collider KEKB.

Abstract: We report a search for CP-violating asymmetry in B0-->D(*+/-)D-/+ decays. The analysis employs two methods of B0 reconstruction: full and partial. In the full reconstruction method all daughter particles of the B0 are required to be detected; the partial reconstruction technique requires a fully reconstructed D- and only a slow pion from the D(*+)-->D0pi(+)(slow) decay. From a fit to the distribution of the time interval corresponding to the distance between two B meson decay points we calculate the CP-violating parameters and find the significance of nonzero CP asymmetry to be 2.7 standard deviations.

Abstract: The evidence for direct charged particles (CP) violation in the decay B0→K+ π- was investigated with 253 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e- collider. 275 x 106 BB pairs were used to observe a B→K±π∓ signal with 2140 ±53 events. Mixing induced CP violation in the B sector was established in b → ccs transitions. The result suggests large interference between tree and penguin diagrams and the existence of final state interactions.

Abstract: We report on the first observation of D0/1(2420)--D0pi- pi+ and D+/1(2420--D+ pi- pi+ decays (where the contribution from the dominant known D1--D*pi decay mode is excluded) in the B- --D0/1pi-) and (-)B0--D+/1pi- decays, respectively. The observation is based on 15.2 x 10(7) B(-)B events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. We also set 90% confidence level upper limits for the branching fractions of the four following decays: B- --D0/1pi-, D01--D(*0)pi- pi+, (-)B0--D+/1pi-, D+/1--D(*+) pi- pi+, B- --D(*0)2(2460)pi-, D(*0)2 --D(*0) pi- pi+, (-)B0--D(*+)2(2460)pi-, D(*+)2--D(*+)pi- pi+.

Abstract: We present a new analysis of double charmonium production in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation. The observation of the processes ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}$, $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{c0}$, and $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(2S)$ is confirmed using a data set more than 3 times larger than that of Belle's previous report, and no evidence for the process ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ is found. We perform an angular analysis for $J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}$ production and set an upper limit on the production of $J/\ensuremath{\psi}J/\ensuremath{\psi}$. Processes of the type ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)(c\overline{c}{)}_{\mathrm{r}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{s}}$ have been observed for the first time; their rates are found to be comparable to those of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}(c\overline{c}{)}_{\mathrm{r}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{s}}$ processes.

Abstract: We present a measurement of the unitarity triangle angle {phi}{sub 3} using a Dalitz plot analysis of the three-body decay of the neutral D meson from the B{sup {+-}}{yields}D{sup (*)}K{sup {+-}} process. The method employs the interference between D{sup 0} and D{sup 0} to extract both the weak and strong phases. We apply this method to a 140 fb{sup -1} data sample collected by the Belle experiment. The analysis uses the modes B{sup {+-}}{yields}DK{sup {+-}} and B{sup {+-}}{yields}D*K{sup {+-}}, D*{yields}D{pi}{sup 0}, where the neutral D meson decays into K{sub S}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}. We obtain 146 signal candidates for B{sup {+-}}{yields}DK{sup {+-}} and 39 candidates for B{sup {+-}}{yields}D*K{sup {+-}}. From a combined maximum likelihood fit to the B{sup {+-}}{yields}DK{sup {+-}} and B{sup {+-}}{yields}D*K{sup {+-}} modes, we obtain {phi}{sub 3}=77 deg. (+17 deg./-19 deg.)(stat){+-}13 deg. (syst){+-}11 deg. (model). The corresponding 2 standard deviation interval is 26 deg.
