Relevance. The problem of organizing and providing emergency medical care during the medical evacuation of seriously injured in emergency situations who received burns remains relevant up to the present time. The effectiveness of the intensive care performed at the prehospital stage significantly affects the condition of patients and the outcome of the treatment. A fairly effective and safe way to evacuate victims in critical condition, including those with burns, is the use of air ambulance. At the same time, the preparation and management of patients subject to air medical transportation requires solving a number of problems during the flight.Intention. To analyze the results of the organization and implementation of intensive care over the past 8 years in seriously injured people with burns after emergencies during aeromedical evacuation by a light-class helicopter.Methodology. We analyzed data from the automated information and analytical system “Disaster Medicine of the city of Moscow” of the Moscow Territorial Scientific and Practical Center of Disaster Medicine (CEMP) of the Department of Healthcare of the City of Moscow concerning medical evacuation of patients with burns over the past 8 years (2014–2021). Historical, statistical, analytical methods were used in the study.Results and Discussion. The main causes of thermal injury are fires, which rank third in the number of events and the number of victims, and first in the number of deaths. In the structure of victims with thermal trauma, 26 % were in extremely serious and serious condition, of which 2 % needed artificial lung ventilation and tracheal intubation. Indications and features of artificial lung ventilation with tracheal intubation were determined for victims with thermal burns who were subject to medical evacuation by a light-class ambulance helicopter.Conclusion. Aeromedical transportation of a burn patient with adequate therapy is relatively safe and prognostically more effective compared to other methods of medical evacuation. When using flight crews with little experience in providing emergency medical care to victims with large burns, special attention should be paid to resuscitation and maintaining euthermia (maintaining human body temperature).

Background. Colorectal cancer is among the most lethal and prevalent malignances in the world. The management of localized colorectal cancer is highly debated. Surgical resection of the rectum, such as total mesenteric excision (TME) is usually associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The integration of various chemotherapy options into the standard treatment of localized rectal cancer could potentially enhance the tumor control with a subsequent reduction in the frequency of recurrence, thus improving overall and disease-free survival. Moreover, there are categories of patients for whom surgical treatment is contraindicated and chemotherapy will be more useful for them. Although rectal cancer is predominantly a disease of older patients, current guidelines do not incorporate optimal treatment recommendations for elderly patients with comorbidities; therefore this issue remains a matter of debate.Aim. We aimed to consider alternative approaches to the treatment of localized rectal cancer and the management of selected patients with this diagnosis.Material and Methods. We searched for publications in the Pubmed, eLibrary databases and up-to-date information on the basis of world cancer associations.Conclusions. Comparison of surgery with concurrent chemoradiotherapy for localized rectal cancer showed that in some cases neoadjuvant therapy can be useful and successful, acting as an ideal alternative. However, this approach may be suitable for selected patients who meet certain criteria. In addition, a follow-up care after treatment should include a specific range of diagnostic imaging tests.

The paper reveals aspects of application of the hardware and software package developed by the author for express diagnostics of internal combustion engines.The objective of the research was to develop algorithms, hardware and software framework for system diagnostics of diesel engines as a comprehensive methodology aimed at localising faults in the best way.Research methods included mathematical modelling for building the algorithm of the expert system; methods of observation and experiment used in the design work and improvement of the developed hardware and software package.The use of on-line diagnostics methods is the main factor for the transition to a more efficient condition-based maintenance system, which makes it possible to prevent sudden failures due to diagnostics made during the simplest types of maintenance, as well as to avoid dismantling of nodes with a resource sufficient for further operation. On-line diagnostic methods are divided into organoleptic and indicator ones and belong to the first two levels of system diagnostics as a practical methodology and scientific discipline.Organoleptic data are based on human perception organs and can be formalised using the Exsys expert system developed by the author based on open databases on correlation of faults with their symptoms, which makes it possible to localise the fault in an interactive mode based on the totality of observed external features, such as smoky exhaust of a certain colour, unstable idling, etc.The second development, which is the IMDC-2 package, refers to indicator methods, representing a subclass of dynamic diagnostics. The package consists of an analog-to-digital converter with a shaft speed sensor mounted on the engine and a computer program that interprets the received data. IMDC-2 allows determining the engine power, building acceleration / coasting retardation curves, and obtaining several other characteristics important for diagnostics, for example, the dependence of the angular acceleration of free acceleration of the engine on the frequency of rotation of its shaft. Both developments can be fully applied after minor modification to diesel locomotive engines, which will increase the accuracy of fault detection and reduce the time for their localisation.

A new way of developing a mathematical model of the dynamics of the factors forming the considered social, political, economic, ecological or other space of life activity of society, depending on local changes in parameters affecting these factors, is presented. A feature of the proposed approach is the use of a matrix of marginal values included in the study that make up the Jacobi matrix of noted factors. The dependence of the factors describing the socio-economic system on the parameters of the model is obtained in explicit form. Under certain conditions, the described relations have the form of mappings close to extension. A generalized assessment of these transformations is proposed. Accounting for this assessment is important for preventing crisis phenomena. The model is intended to be used for informational, forecasting, management and governance purposes in the presence of a sufficient digitalization’s degree of public structures, without which it is problematic to receive and transmit data for building the model, and perform related calculations.

Introduction. Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is considered a multifactorial disease. There are data on the contribution of fungi and viruses to the initiation and development of the inflammatory process, data on the effect of superantigens, biofilms and microbiota on the growth of polyps in the paranasal sinuses. Exacerbation of the disease in patients with CRSwNP leads to a significant decrease in the quality of life.Aim. To study the bacterial component of the microbiota of nasal and paranasal mucosa in patients with CRSwNP during remission and exacerbation.Materials and methods. 83 patients with CRSwNP were examined (44 patients in remission, 39 people in the period of exacerbation of the disease). A qualitative and quantitative analysis of bacterial component of the microbiota in all patients were carried out.Results. No significant differences in the qualitative and quantitative composition of the nasal cavity microbiota during exacerbation and remission of inflammatory process were observed, as well as before and after treatment of the CRSwNP exacerbation. The quantitative assessment of the identified microorganisms in the vast majority of cases was within the normal range.

The derivation of the Old Russian word Varangians and its correlation with Væringjar of Scandinavian sagas and Greek Βάραγγοι are still subjects of polemics. The well-known V. Thomsen’s etymology from the Old Norse vár and the postulate of the sagas’ term primacy do not allow explaining the origin and genesis of all three related terms. The article suggests other possible etymological approaches to the word Varangian, considering probable Finnic mediation, and substantiates a fundamentally different historical interaction of the Old Russian, Scandinavian, and Greek terms, with the Russian one having been originated first, in the Viking Age, on the future Old Rus’ territory.

Background. An increase in the incidence of optic neuritis (ON) among the workingage population, the complexity of etiological diagnosis and the choice of adequate etiotropic therapy, as well as a disappointing prognosis for vision due to the development of optic nerve atrophy determines the high social significance of this problem.The aim. Comprehensive clinical, functional, morphometric and laboratory-immunological evaluation of results of using the drug Imunofan® in combined treatment of ON associated with herpesvirus infection (HVI).Materials and methods. The study involved 39 people (39 eyes) with acute ON associated with HVI. The standard treatment regimen for the patients included the appointment of solutions: dexamethasone in a decreasing scheme, a 1 % Emoxypine® preparation 0.5 ml and 12.5 % Dicynone® preparation 0.5 ml through an irrigation system implanted into the retrobulbar space, with subsequent appointment of medicinal means of neuroprotection (Picamilon® and Semax®). All patients were divided into two groups. The main group – 22 patients, whose standard inpatient treatment was supplemented with intramuscular administration of the drug Imunofan®, 50 μg daily for 10 days. The control group consisted of 17 patients, who were treated only according to the standard method.Results. Analysis of obtained data showed that more significant positive dynamics was noted in patients of the main group.Conclusion. The clinical efficacy of the drug Imunofan® in the complex therapy of ON associated with HVI was characterized by relief of signs of inflammation in the optic nerve in the main group immediately after the end of the course of treatment, while in the control group – only after 3 months; an increase in the best corrected visual acuity by 1.3 times, a decrease in the incidence of postneuritic optic nerve atrophy at a follow-up period of 12 months.

The effect of matrix components on the results of gas chromatographic determination of methanol in samples of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products was studied using a modified internal standard method for quantitative calculations. Ethanol, which is the main component of alcoholic products was used as an internal standard. The matrix effect can be attributed to the presence of ethanol in various contents, and volatile and non-volatile impurity components characteristic of different kinds of drinks. The matrix effect was evaluated by the spike test in the study of 24 samples of alcoholic and alcohol-containing products with a volume fraction of ethanol from 6.5 to 96.6%. All samples were subjected to distillation: the initial samples and distillates were analyzed at a low sugar content; whereas at a high sugar content, only distillates were analyzed. It is shown that the effect of matrix components on the results of the determination of methanol by the proposed method is statistically insignificant. The developed method is characterized by lower financial, material, labor and time costs compared to the current technical regulatory legal acts of the EAEU, China, India, the EU, USA and Mexico. Validation of the method can be performed on the basis of data regularly obtained by the laboratory during routine study of alcoholic products, without using any additional reagents, equipment and additional measurements. Moreover, the method has good prospects for standardization at the interstate and international levels, i.e., in the framework of the activities of the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC) and the authoritative International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).

Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSP) is a heterogenous disease. We have earlier detected differences in severity of clinical manifestations, cellular infiltration degree shown in nasal polyps, of eosinophil-to-neutrophil ratio, efficacy of intranasal glucocorticosteroid baseline therapy, and various inflammatory patterns for several cytokines on the mRNA expression level in different phenotypes with isolated CRSP cases, CRSP associated with respiratory allergy (RA), or non-allergic bronchial asthma.The purpose of this work was to study the cytokines of TGF-â family in the tissues of nasal polyps in patients with different CRSP phenotypes. The research involved 292 patients suffering from CRSP divided into 3 phenotypic groups. Group I consisted of patients with isolated CRSP free of associated BA and/or sensitization to atopic allergens. Group II included patients with CRSP combined with respiratory allergy and was further divided into two subgroups. I.e., Group 2a comprised patients with CRSP, allergic BA (aBA), and allergic rhinitis (AR), while the patients with CRSP, AR, and non-allergic BA were placed to the group 2b. The patients suffering from CRSP complicated with non-allergic BA were allocated to the group III. The patients with hypertrophic rhinitis served as control. The levels of TGF-â1, TGF-â2, and TGF-â3 proteins (pg/mg) were measured by means of multiplex immunoassay approach in supernates of tissue homogenates from nasal polyps removed by surgery, and in posterior parts of inferior nasal conchae. The total protein level was determined in tissue supernatant, with cytokine contents recalculated for the mg/ml protein concentration for standardization of measurements.In the control group, trace concentrations of all three growth factors were detected. Significant difference in protein contents was found for the studied cytokines, depending on CRSP phenotype. The levels of TGF-â1 and TGF-â2 were statistically lower in isolated CRSP than in other groups of comorbid CRSP patients. TGF-â1 and TGF-â2 concentrations were significantly lower in CRSP + allergic BA group IIa than in CRSP + nonallergic BA and CRSP + RA groups. The amount of TGF-â3 cytokine was maximal in CRSP + non-allergic BA group III compared to the patients with isolated CRSP of group I and CRSP + non-allergic BA group 2a.Conclusions.The high level of all three TGF-â isoforms in patients with CRSP compared to the control group suggested a high potential of mucous membranes of paranasal sinuses for active tissue remodeling followed by nasal polype formation.Different mechanisms were presumed for development of local pathological process in different clinical phenotypes of CRSP, depending on the comorbid pathology, especially, BA or respiratory disorders.Minimal TGF-â1 and TGF-â2 levels were detected in isolated CRSP.The highest concentrations of TGF-â1, TGF-â2, and TGF-â3 were discovered in the patients with CRSP accompanied by non-allergic BA as compared to the groups with isolated CRSP and CRSP+allergic BA.5. Determination of TGF-â1, TGF-â2, and TGF-â3 levels can serve as an additional criterion for differentiating between the mechanisms of mucous membrane damage in local pathological process in tissues of comorbid patients with different CRSP phenotypes.

Low anterior resection, unlike other large bowel resections with anastomosis, is characterized by a high incidence of postoperative complications, repeated surgical interventions, accompanied by high mortality. To reduce these indicators, the creation of a protective stoma and drainage of the pelvis has become widespread. However, the efficiency of pelvic drainage after low anterior resection remains unclear and controversial. This literature review is devoted to the relevance of the problem of efficiency and analysis of studies on this issue. Most randomized trials have not proven the effectiveness of drainage in colorectal surgery, but in these studies, as a rule, little or no attention was paid to draining the small pelvis after total mesorectal excision. This work analyzes the studies of supporters and opponents of pelvic drainage after low anterior resection of the rectum and provides arguments for and against drainage of the pelvic cavity. Although there are randomized trials showing no benefit of pelvic drainage, many clinics use pelvic drain after low anterior resection. The personal experience of the surgeon and the occurrence of intraoperative complications such as bleeding, contamination, technical difficulties in colorectal anastomosis formation has an important role to play in this. A lower rate of repeated operation in the use of pelvic drainage suggests the possibility of conservative treatment.

The results of studying the content of nitrogen and mineral phosphorus compounds, as well as the primary production of phytoplankton (PPP) in 2017–2019 are presented. In the marine area of ​​the of the SPNA «Cape Martyan», located on the southern coast of Crimea (Black Sea). It was found that in the summer period in the surface layer of seawater, PP can be limited by both nitrogen and phosphorus. The dependence of the PPF change on the concentration of total nitrogen in water is of little significance, and the dependence on the concentration of phosphorus is high. It is shown that during the entire annual cycle, the concentrations of nitrites, nitrates and ammonium, as well as mineral phosphorus, change, but remain within the limits that do not lead to hypereutrophication of waters. A high ecological significance of atmospheric precipitation was revealed: the associated increase in the concentration of PO4 caused a change in the mode of limiting the PPF from phosphorus to nitrogen. Using theoretical concepts, it has been substantiated that, under oligotrophic conditions, an increase in the concentration of the limiting PPP substrate in water also leads to an increase in the rate of its extraction from the environment in accordance with the negative feedback of natural regulation of ecosystem homeostasis. Under conditions of eutrophication, the influence of production processes on water conditioning by the factor of nutrients decreases.

The article proposes methods of searching passenger travel routes in conditions where one or more optimization criteria must be taken into account in the presence of a pedestrian system and multi-type transport systems with their topologies, sets of parameters and tariff plans. The author carried out the research by means of mathematical modeling of the transport system in the form of its deterministic graph model. The author chose Dijk-stra's algorithm as the basic algorithm, on the basis of which the modifications of the previous ones were carried out and the construction of a new search technique was carried out. As a result, the study obtained algorithms for solving single-criteria and multi-criteria problems on graphs. For multicriterial problems, the author used the convolution method and the method of ordering criteria by the degree of decreasing their significance. The field of application of the developed algorithms is information systems focused on the end user and on the structures that design and manage transport networks.

Purpose. To assess increasing the functional effectiveness of the results of endovitreal surgery in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) by using modern pharmacotherapy drug in the postoperative rehabilitation. Materials and methods. 108 people (108 eyes) with RRD. All patients underwent standard three-port vitrectomy, after which tamponade of the vitreous cavity with silicone oil with its removal 3 months after operation was performed. Patients were divided into 2 groups: the first – 60 people who received Cytoflavin on the background of standard therapy, and the second – 48 people with postoperative treatment only with standard therapy. Depending on the visual prognosis calculated before the operation, both groups were represented patients with satisfactory (A subgroup) and low (B subgroup) visual prognosis. Laser Doppler fluometry (LDF) was used to study chorioretinal microcirculation: microcirculation index and microcirculation efficiency index were recorded. Using OCT angiography (OCT-A), signs of macular ischemia were investigated: choroidal thickness, area nonperfusion of foveal avascular zone, density in the superficial capillary plexuses and density in the deep capillary plexuses in the macular area. Results. The inclusion of Cytoflavin in the postoperative rehabilitation of patients with RRD increases the possibility of a favorable functional outcome of the operation, affects the positive dynamics in the state of the capillary plexus in the macula. In the aggregate of patients of the 1st group, the increase in visual acuity was 2 times higher than in patients of the 2nd group 6 months after surgery. Also, in patients of the 1st group there was a more significant activation of chorioretinal blood flow according to LDF and OCT-A. Conclusion. The prescription of Cytoflavin in the postoperative treatment of patients underwent endovitreal surgery of RRD, regardless of the visual prognosis, increases the functional outcome of the operation. Improvement in visual functions in patients receiving Cytoflavin therapy is directly related to improved intraocular blood flow and macular perfusion. Total mesorectal excision with low anterior resection has significantly improved the long-term outcomes of surgical treatment for rectal cancer, decreasing the local recurrence rate and increasing survival. However, total mesorectal excision is becoming one of the main factors for the development of colorectal anastomosis leakage, the rate of which reaches 20% in these operations. To minimize the complications associated with the inconsistency of the colorectal anastomotic suture, preventive intestinal stoma is formed when performing low anterior resections. That significantly worsen the quality of life of patients, their elimination requires re-hospitalization, and surgical interventions are accompanied by a high incidence of postoperative complications, reaching a rate of 20%, which has a significant impact on the cost of treatment for this category of patients. Transanal drainage is an alternative to the formation of preventive intestinal stoma and is devoid of its shortcomings. This literature review is devoted to an analysis of the effectiveness of transanal drainage in low anterior rectal resection. Until recently, transanal drainage has not yet gained popularity among surgeons due to the lack of evidence of its safety and effectiveness, and many studies are retrospective, including small samples. The review considered single-center, multicenter, randomized trials and a meta-analysis of the use of transanal drainage. Transanal drainage is an effective method for preventing the inconsistency of colorectal anastomotic suture, it is safe, and it surpasses the preventive intestinal stoma in a number of indicators.

Intussusception is one of the varieties of mixed (strangulation and obturation) mechanical intestinal obstruction. It arises as a result of the introduction of the adducting segment of the intestine into the abducting one. Gastroduodenal intussusception is an extremely rare type of high intestinal obstruction. It most often occurs after surgery on the stomach and much less often in non-operated patients. Intussusception of the jejunum into the stomach can occur soon after surgery, but most often, this complication occurs 515 years after the intervention. This paper describes a case of retrograde intussusception that arose 9 years after the Billroth II gastric resection with Braun anastomosis. This clinical case acquaints specialists with the possibility to encounter this pathology in clinical practice and demonstrates the appropriateness of differential diagnostics in cases with similar clinical symptoms.

The phase transitions in the homologous series of normal alkanes: hexadecane (C16H34), heptadekane (C17H36), octadekane (C18H38), nonadekane (C19H40), and eicosane (C20H42) have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry. The elimination of methodic errors enables the obtainment of true values of the thermodynamic parameters of these transitions. The quantitative analysis of the profiles of the heat capacity jumps performed for the solid-phase first-order transitions on the base of the blurred phase transition theory allowed the calculation of a new-phase nucleus sizes in the volume of the old phase during the structural phase transition and the consideration of the kinetics of their development. The method of separating asymmetric peaks of the heat capacity into components has been improved, which enables the separation of various stages of developing the solid-phase transitions.

Although quantum communication systems are being deployed on a global scale, their realistic security certification is not yet available. Here we present a security evaluation and improvement protocol for complete quantum communication systems. The protocol subdivides a system by defining seven system implementation sub-layers based on a hierarchical order of information flow; then it categorises the known system implementation imperfections by hardness of protection and practical risk. Next, an initial analysis report lists all potential loopholes in its quantum-optical part. It is followed by interactions with the system manufacturer, testing and patching most loopholes, and re-assessing their status. Our protocol has been applied on multiple commercial quantum key distribution systems to improve their security. A detailed description of our methodology is presented with the example of a subcarrier-wave system. Gastric stump cancer is a carcinoma which forms no earlier than 5years after surgery for benign disease. The incidence ranges from 2.4 to 5% among patients with stomach cancer. Previous operations lead to the emergence of an adhesive process in the abdominal cavity, changes in the anatomy and topography of the abdominal organs, as well as the development of new ways of lymph outflow. These factors lead to the re-surgery becomes technically more complicated and requires high professional training from the surgeon. Of particular surgical interest is the issue of restoration of the digestive tract, which directly depends on the nature and volume of the previous surgery. In this paper, the authors describe cases of surgical treatment of gastric stump cancer in two patients, who had previously undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy.

The reactions of 2,4-dichloro-5-(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)cyclopent-4-ene-1,3-dione and its 2-allyl derivative with CrCl2 were studied. Both reactions are accompanied by the saturation of the cyclopentenone double bond and the simultaneous reductive dechlorination of chlorine-containing centers. The structure of the final allyl-containing product was determined by X-ray diffraction.

The accurate measurement of the internal dimensions of closed cavities with conducting walls without the access of measuring tools inside the cavities is relevant when measuring the parameters of radio materials and the dimensions of metal vessels with limited access to them, when clarifying the Boltzmann constant, and when conducting gas thermometry and other tasks. This article presents the results of measuring the internal dimensions of cavities, namely, microwave cavity resonators, by considering the range of their resonant frequencies. The differences between the eigenfrequency and resonant frequency in a resonator with perfectly conducting walls and those in a real resonator with impedance walls are clarified. The types of functions suitable for describing the resonant amplitude-frequency characteristics of real resonators are analyzed. This article also presents the results of measuring the inner diameter and length (height) of microwave resonators from the State Primary Standard for the units of complex dielectric permeability (GET 110-2012) with frequencies ranging from 1 to 178.4 GHz.

The characteristics of the production technology for fuel rod cladding oriented to its application for water-moderated water-cooled power reactors with a coolant temperature of 300−350°C are presented. Possible directions for the modification of the cladding surface are proposed. The methodological background for the diagnostics of materials based on the ion-beam and X-ray diagnostic methods is discussed. Using this diagnostics, it is possible to characterize the parameters of the inner and outer surfaces of the fuel-rod cladding without changing its form. Experimental data are presented, which demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed analytical complex for characterizing the surface layers of fuel-rod cladding.

Струйные метановые газовыделения (сипы) — широко распространённый феномен в Мировом океане, в том числе в бассейне Чёрного моря. Актуальность исследований метановых сипов обусловлена их важной ролью в качестве источника метана как парникового и средообразующего газа для водной толщи и атмосферы. В работе представлен сравнительный анализ данных собственных биогеохимических исследований мелководных сипов Крымского полуострова, охватывающих последние десять лет, и материалов, посвящённых глубоководным газовыделениям Чёрного моря. В этот период были проведены поисковые гидроакустические исследования, выявлен компонентный состав пузырькового газа, измерен изотопный состав углерода метана, а также молекулярно-биологическими методами определена структура микробного сообщества бактериальных матов, покрывающих площадки газовыделений, и выполнена оценка газовых потоков от отдельных сипов. В течение многолетнего мониторинга обнаружено и описано 14 отдельных газовыделяющих площадок в прибрежных районах Крыма, которые располагались от мыса Тарханкут на западе полуострова до бухты Двуякорная на юго-востоке. Превалирующая часть прибрежных сипов Крыма имела биогенную природу и сезонный характер газовыделений. К глубинному газу термокаталитического генезиса отнесены сипы в бухте Ласпи. Наблюдался значительный разброс величин изотопного состава углерода метана δ13C-CH4 пузырькового газа прибрежных мелководных районов (−94…−34 ‰), что указывает на разные условия его генерации и созревания в донных отложениях. Так же, как и глубоководным сипам, прибрежным струйным газовыделениям сопутствовали бактериальные маты разной структуры с различными доминирующими видами. Показано, что для формирования устойчивой бактериальной биомассы, основу которой составляли, как правило, сульфид- и сероокисляющие бактерии, необходим флюидный поток восстановленных растворённых газов, тогда как точечная разгрузка пузырькового газа не обеспечивает достаточных градиентов концентрации и может механически разрушать структуру образующегося сообщества. Различными методами сделаны оценки размерных спектров пузырьков и потоков от отдельных струй. Диапазон значений газового потока варьировал от 1,8 л·сут−1 (бухта Мартынова) до 40 л·сут−1 (бухта Ласпи). Проанализированы средообразующие эффекты, связанные с выделением пузырькового газа в прибрежных районах: влияние сипов на кислородный режим в донных осадках и в толще воды́ над точками газовыделений; вертикальное перемешивание вод за счёт газлифтового эффекта; флюидная разгрузка на площадках струйных газовыделений.

Purpose. To study clinical, statistical, anatomical, optical and functional properties of primary keratoectasia (PKE) in patients living in Far Eastern Federal District of Russia. Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of medical outpatient cards of 481 patients with PKE who observed in the Khabarovsk branch of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution. We studied the detectability of PKE over the years, their quantitative structure and staging, visual acuity, refraction, maximum keratometry-readings and minimum corneal thickness. Results. Keratoconus (KC) occurred in 445 (92.5%) patients, pellucid marginal degeneration (PMD) occurred in 36 (7.5%). Among patients with KC, it was observed in 309 (69.4%) men and 136 (30.6%) in women. PMD was diagnosed in 19 (53%) men and 17 (47%) women. In 386 (86.7%) people with KC, the lesion was bilateral. Among the remaining 59 patients with KC, 6 people (1.3%) had a one-sided process, and 53 (12%) patients had signs of subclinical KC in the second eye. Bilateral PMD was detected in 35 (97%) people, in one (3%) patient the disease was detected in one eye. At comparable average values of refraction and corneal thickness in eyes with PMD and KC 1st stage, astigmatism-at PMD were 2–2.5 times greater. Conclusion. Among patients with KC, 34.9% eyes have the 2nd stage of the disease, in which visual acuity are already sufficiently reduced, and 28.5% eyes have KC the 3rd and the 4th stage and can be classified as visually impaired. The revealed differences in ratio of functional and refractive indexes of eyes with KC and PMD necessitate wider study of their diagnostic features and results of treatment latter. The pattern recognition of a forest surface from remote sensing data (both airborne hyperspectral data and WorldView-2 multichannel satellite data of high spatial resolution) is investigated. Calculations have been performed using both the method developed earlier by the authors and the standard statistical approach. For three fragments of the forest surface, the range of changes in the accuracy of recognition calculations has been estimated for both airborne and satellite data, depending on the use of different databases developed for the recognition system. Some features of the pattern recognition of the underlying surface are discussed on the basis of both hyperspectral airborne data and multichannel satellite data of high spatial resolution.

The description of the muon capture system units with different targets (gas and solid-state) is presented. Using the muon-event selection system and high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors, precise measurements of the time-energy distributions following ordinary muon capture in the isotopically-enriched 130Xe, 82Kr, and 24Mg nuclei were performed. The optimal parameters of the muon capture measuring system to ensure maximum muon stops in the targets under study and to collect effective statistics during measurements are reported. The system makes it possible to separate muonic X-ray events from gamma radiation with high accuracy, which is critical in such studies, and it is also suitable for future measurements with other targets.
