Nowadays a decrease tendency in human sperm quality has been reported mainly in developed countries. Reproductive technologies have been very valuable in achieving successful pregnancies with low quality sperm samples. However, considering that spermatozoa molecular contribution is increasingly important in recent studies, it is crucial to study whether fertilization with low sperm quality could leave a molecular mark on progeny. This study explores the consequences that fertilization with low sperm quality may have on progeny, using zebrafish as a model. Good and bad breeders were established attending to sperm quality analyses and were individually tracked. Significant differences in fertilization and malformation rates were obtained in progenies between high and low quality sperm samples. Moreover an altered miR profile was found in the progenies of bad zebrafish breeders (upregulation of miR-141 and miR -122 in 24 hpf embryos) and as a consequence, some of their targets involved in male sex development such as dmrt1, suffered downregulation. Our results indicate that fertilizing with high sperm quality samples becomes relevant from a new perspective: to avoid molecular alterations in the progeny that could remain masked and therefore produce unexpected consequences in it.

Nutritional requirements of wreckfish are unknow so far and there are only a few references related to feeding habitats from commercial caught (Brick Peres & Haimovi, 2003) and feeding rates in captivity (Papandroulakis et al., 2004) . Recently some studies were done about composition of wild wreckfish (Roncarati et al.,2014, Linares et al., 2015). The optimum development of broodstock diets for wreckfish will be essential for the future of the aquaculture of this species. Dietary lipids and specially fatty acids play a critical role in the successful production of high quality gametes and eggs of marine fish (Izquierdo et al., 2001; Sargent et al., 2002). The aim of this work is collecting information about the influence of the feeding of wreckfish broodstock on oocytes composition with the aim of knowing the relationship of broodstock feeding on fecundity and spawn quality., This 5-year-long project (2013-2018) has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration (KBBE-2013-07 single stage, GA 603121, DIVERSIFY). The consortium includes 38 partners from 12 European countries –including 9 SMEs, 2 Large Enterprises, 5 professional associations and 1 Consumer NGO- and is coordinated by the Hellenic Center for Marine Research, Greece. Within the DIVERSIFY project for the diversification of species in European aquaculture, wreckfish is a special case because of its late sexual maturation, which does not occur until 7-8 years of age (Peleteiro and Brunzón, 2014), besides existing very few data on its reproductive biology because it is a demersal species whose adult specimens tend to live at the range of 100-1000 meters of deep. This work sets out the progress made in the study of the reproductive cycle of this species in stocks established in Galicia (Spain)., European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration (KBBE-2013-07 single stage, GA 603121, DIVERSIFY).

The European hake is one of the major commercially important species in Western Europe fisheries. Currently its management is divided into different functional units in the Mediterranean (GFCM, General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean) and two stocks in the Atlantic: the Southern and the Northern Stock. The basis for the definition of this management stock structure is under permanent discussion and in the latest years there were an increased amount of genetic studies addressing this topic. Integrated ecosystem assessment requires an improved understanding of the marine ecosystem to provide an effective advice. To this end we have gathered hake genetic information from different studies with the aim of developing a spatial assessment model that links the current stocks. These studies show a restricted gene flow between Southern hake and Mediterranean hake, although a smaller genetic distance between Southern and Northern stocks than one expected from two independent populations, suggesting the presence of a major gene flow from northern grounds core stock (Porcupine and Great Sole Banks) towards the Bay of Biscay and the northwest coast of the Iberian Peninsula. However the quantitative implementation of genetic metrics (such as Fst, migration rates, etc) into population dynamic models is not straightforward given the different nature and assumptions behind these different approaches. In this work we discuss the problems to link these different disciplines suggesting ways to overcome them. These include ways to improve future genetic sampling and developing plausible scenarios for genetic connectivity in population dynamic models.

Este trabajo tiene el propósito de conocer los stakeholders de la organización y, en particular, la importancia percibida por el directivo de cada uno de ellos. Tras una revisión de la literatura, se analizan diversas cualidades de los stakeholders que influyen en la importancia que les es concedida. Nuestros resultados, aplicados a la empleabilidad del alumnado de la universidad española, nos permiten destacar cualidades de cada uno de los diferentes stakeholders como el poder que poseen para influir en la imagen pública del centro y la habilidad para continuar mostrando sus preocupaciones sobre la empleabilidad en un futuro. / This work has the intention of meeting the stakeholders of the organization and, in particular, the importance perceived by the manager of each of them. After a review of the literature, we analyze diverse qualities of the stakeholders that influence the importance that is granted to them. Our results applied to the employability of the pupils of the spanish university, allow us to emphasize qualities of each of the different stakeholders as the power that they possess to influence the public image of the center and the skill to keep on showing his worries on the employability in a future.

Es ya clásica la problemática derivada de la elección de la forma de gobierno, ocasionada por la dificultad de determinar en qué casos los beneficios de las estructuras integradas superan a los de las estructuras organizacionales basadas en la especialización. Con la finalidad de profundizar en este tema, el presente trabajo analiza, en el subsector de los operadores de cable, la posibilidad de que existan atributos en diferente grado en las diversas formas de gobierno, así como la importancia de la caracterización de las transacciones de cara a la elección del nivel de integración vertical más adecuado en cada caso. / A classic problem in deciding an organizational form is the assessment of the benefits of coordination and protection of competitive advantage and specificities offered by an integrated structure against the benefits of efficiency and flexibility characteristic of a organizational structure based on specialization. This in-depth work analysis, carried out under a transactional perspective, examines the impact of attributes in different grades in diverse government forms and the importance of characterizing transactions in achieving the most appropriate level of vertical integration.

El objetivo de este trabajo es examinar la relación entre la implantación de ciertas decisiones y políticas generadoras de capacidades de producción (automatización flexible de la planta, ingeniería de diseño y de fabricación, sistemas de gestión y control de calidad, y prácticas de recursos humanos centradas en el empowerment) y la importancia otorgada a determinadas prioridades competitivas en la estrategia de negocio. La base de datos utilizada está integrada por la información obtenida mediante una encuesta postal dirigida a las empresas del sector del metal, de más de 50 trabajadores e instaladas en España en el año 2001. Los resultados obtenidos de esta investigación sugieren que, a partir de la implantación de ciertas decisiones y políticas de producción, es posible obtener capacidades sobre las que asentar una ventaja competitiva. / The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between the implementation of decisions and policies that originate manufacturing capabilities (flexible plant automation, design and manufacturing engineering, quality management and control systems, empowerment) and the importance the company attaches to certain competitive priorities in its business strategy. Information for the data base was obtained by means of a postal survey to companies in the metal sector, with over 50 employees, established in Spain in 2001, the year of reference for the study. The results suggested that implementing certain production decisions and policies can enable a company to acquire capabilities that can act as a basis for a competitive advantage.

Muscle histochemical characteristics are decisive determinants of meat quality. The relative percentage and diameters of the different muscular fiber types influence crucial aspects of meat such as color, tenderness, and ultimate pH. Despite its relevance, however, the information on muscle fiber genetic architecture is scant, because histochemical muscle characterization is a laborious task. Here we report a complete QTL scan of muscle fiber traits in 160 animals from a F2 cross between Iberian and Landrace pigs using 139 markers. We identified 20 genome regions distributed along 15 porcine chromosomes (SSC1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and X) with direct and(or) epistatic effects. Epistasis was frequent and some interactions were highly significant. Chromosomes 10 and 11 seemed to behave as hubs; they harbored 2 individual QTL, but also 6 epistatic regions. Numerous individual QTL effects had cryptic alleles, with opposite effects to phenotypic pure breed differences.
