In this study, we are aiming to examine how different risk perceptions influence willingness to participate in future climate collective action in Germany. Specifically, we are focusing on risk perceptions related to the temporal closeness of the climate crisis as well as subjective risk perceptions related to activism itself. By manipulating the level of these two aspects of anticipated risk, we tested their unique and interactive effects on willingness to participate in climate collective action. Furthermore, we aim to test our measured variables' association with willingness to participate in climate collective action (i.e., activist identification, efficacy, emotions, collective impatience).

We examine how different abstraction levels regarding climate threat perception (i.e., individual threat, national threat, and global threat) influence willingness to participate in climate collective action and support for new climate policies in Germany.

In the current experiment, we will investigate whether Identity Leadership dimensions (Steffens et al., 2014) protect leadership in case of leader violates morality on care foundation or fairness foundation by targeting the ingroup or outgroup. We will introduce participants to their group leader who meets one of four Identity Leadership dimensions (prototypicality, advancement, entrepreneurship, and impresarioship) that make their leader successful and violate morality on care or fairness by targeting ingroup or outgroup. We will ask participants to reduce the leadership score of their leader, considering both meeting identity leadership dimension and violating moral foundation.

The current paper aims to study the social-psychological factors that would play roles in COVID-19 vaccine acceptance. Specifically, we examined whether national and global identifications and the leaders whom people think being in charge of managing the COVID-19 pandemic on a national scale could explain people's acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccines developed by different countries. We proposed a model in which people's assessment of the leader in terms of identity-leadership mediates the relationship between different identification types (i.e., global and national) and acceptance of Western, Asian or national vaccines. The model was tested on self-reported data collected in Turkey (N = 694) utilizing Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) in R software. The results revealed that national identification positively predicted acceptance of national vaccines and negatively predicted acceptance of Western vaccines; both of the relationships were also mediated by people's assessments of the leader in terms of identity-leadership dimensions. On the other side, global identification positively predicted acceptance of Western vaccines. The implications of the findings were discussed in terms of their practical contributions along with their theoretical relevance. Este documento tiene por objetivo estudiar los factores socio-psicológicos que desempeñarían roles en la aceptación de las vacunas contra la COVID-19. Específicamente, hemos analizado si las identificaciones y los líderes nacionales y globales, de quienes las personas piensan que están a cargo de gestionar la pandemia de la COVID-19 a escala nacional, podrían explicar la aceptación de las personas de las vacunas contra la COVID-19 desarrolladas por diferentes países. Propusimos un modelo en el cual la evaluación del líder por parte de las personas, en términos de identidad-identificación nacional, media la relación entre diferentes tipos de identificación (es decir, global y nacional) y la aceptación de vacunas occidentales, asiáticas o nacionales. El modelo fue probado con datos auto-reportados en Turquía (N = 694) utilizando Modelos de Ecuación Estructural (MEE) en un software R. Los resultados revelaron que la identificación nacional prededecía positivamente la aceptación de vacunas nacionales, y predecía negativamente la aceptación de vacunas occidentales; ambas relaciones también estuvieron mediadas por las evaluaciones que las personas hicieron del líder en términos de dimensiones identidad-liderazgo. Por otro lado, la identificación global predijo positivamente la aceptación de vacunas occidentales. Las implicaciones de los hallazgos se debatieron en términos de sus contribuciones prácticas junto con su importancia teórica.

People around the globe were and are affected by the highly contagious virus SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus, COVID-19) far beyond the virus itself. Despite the high viral transmission, people did not stop acting collectively. Sometimes these collective actions were against government regulations to health and safety (e.g., anti-lockdown), or to deal with systemic injustice and inequality affecting specific groups (e.g., Black Lives Matter). In this conceptual paper, we discuss the relation between protests and disasters. More specifically we discuss the crucial element of perceived social injustice and inequality for protest to emerge during or in the aftermath of disasters. We review literature related to disasters and protests before moving on to the COVID-19 pandemic to discuss how the context of COVID-19 can have influenced protests as well as protests’ potential impact on viral transmission. We demonstrate that protests during or in the aftermath of disasters are not uncommon. Furthermore, we suggest a direct link between emergent or increased perceived injustice and inequality and protests during/after disasters.

Psychological violence is a type of violence that includes verbal and emotional abuse such as humiliation, contempt, verbal violence, shouting, threatening, jealousy, social isolation, emotional and / or physical distancing. The purpose of the present research was to investigate reliability and validity of the Turkish version of Psychological Maltreatment of Women Inventory (PMWI; Tolman 1989) and Profile of Psychological Abuse (PPA; Sackett & Saunders 1999). In this regard, two studies were conducted. Two hundred and ninety-three women participated in Study I through a web-survey and 23 women living in a women's shelter participated in Study II. The findings of the study after adaptation into Turkish, PMWI consists of three factors including dominance, isolation, and emotional/verbal violence and PPA consists of four factors including jealous control, ignore, ridicule traits, and criticize behavior. In Study 1, significant evidence was obtained by examining the relationship between PMWI and PPA's total scores and the factors themselves and with each other. It was also found that PMWI and PPA and their factors have significant relationships with anxiety, depression, negative self, somatization and hostility. In Study 2, the shelter sample produced evidence of discriminant validity in both scales. Internal consistency values ranged between .81 and .96 in Study 1 and .83 to .96 in Study II. Overall, the present study provided strong evidence that the Turkish versions of PMWI and PPA were valid and reliable measures of psychological violence against women.

Bu araştırmanın genel amacı kolektif eylemlere katılım, liderlik ve sosyal medya arasındaki ilişkileri incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, kamuoyunda Gezi Parkı Eylemleri olarak bilinen 2013 yılı Haziran ayında gerçekleşen geniş katılımlı kolektif eylemlere katılımda sosyal değişim inancı, haksızlık algısı, öfke gibi sosyal psikolojik değişkenler ile liderliğin oynadığı rol araştırılmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra kolektif eylemlere katılımın, aktif sosyal medya kullanıcılığı ile ilişkisini Gezi Parkı eylemleri özelinde araştırılması ve Gezi Parkı Eylemlerini sosyal medyadan izleyen ve sosyal medya liderlerinin çağrısı ile bu eylemlere katılan bireylerin, bu sosyal medya kullanıcılarının(liderlerin) çağrılarına hangi ölçütler çerçevesinde icabet ettiklerinin saptanması hedeflenmektedir. Araştırmaya 256 kadın ve 147 erkek olmak üzere toplam 403 kişi gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin 114'ü kâğıt kalem yöntemiyle, 289'u ise internet üzerinden toplanmıştır. Katılımcılardan sırası ile Demografik Bilgi Formu, Haksızlık Algısı Ölçeği, Sosyal Değişim İnancı Ölçeği ve Kimlik-Liderlik Ölçeklerini doldurmaları istenmiştir. Eylem çağrıları dikkate alınan farklı kanalların çağrılarıyla Gezi Parkı eylemlerine katılımın temel yordayıcılarını test etmek amacıyla hiyerarşik regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır. Hiyerarşik regresyon analizlerinin sonuçlarına göre arkadaşların çağrılarıyla eyleme katılımı öfke ve haksızlık algısı; kurum(sendika, örgüt, platform, siyasi parti) çağrılarıyla Gezi Parkı eylemlerine katılımı sosyal değişim inancı, liderin kimlik ilerleticiliği ve liderin grup bir örnekliği yordamaktadır. In accordance with this purpose, role of illegitimacy perception, social change belief, anger and leadership on participation in the actions known as Gezi Park Protests that happened in July, 2013 is examined. Furthermore to research relation between participation in collective acitons and active use of social media in spesific to Gezi Park Protests and to determine how the protestors who follow the Gezi Park Protests from social media and attend to protests with the calls from social media leaders comply with these social media users(leaders) are the goals of this study too. 403 participants 256 women and 147 men have involed voluntarily this study. 114 of data was collected with paper and pencil survey and 289 of data was collected with online survey. Demographic Information Form, Perception of Illegitimacy Scale, Belief of Social Change Scale and Identity-Leadership Inventory were requested to fill out from participants. Hierarchical Regression Analysis was conducted to testing main predictors of participation in Gezi Park Protests with the calls from different channels. To results of the hierarchical regression analysis, anger and perception of illegitimacy predict participation in protests with the calls from friends; belief of social change and evaluation of leadership such as perceptions of identity advancement of leader and group prototypicality of leader predict participation in protests with the calls from institutions(unions, organizations, platforms, political parties).Anger and perception of illegitimacy predict participation in protests with the calls from fake and anonymous social media accounts. Additionally, anger, perception of illegitimacy and perception of identity advancement of leader predict participation in protests with the calls from social media account belong to institutions such as unions, organizations, platforms and political parties.
