国立国語研究所 研究系, 早稲田大学, Research Department, NINJAL, Waseda University, 日本語学習者にとって終助詞の適切な使用は，日常のコミュニケーションを円滑に行う上で重要である。本研究では，『BTSJ日本語自然会話コーパス（2020年版）』に収録されている，日中接触場面の雑談における日本語母語話者と上級・初級日本語学習者による終助詞「ね」「よ」「よね」の使用実態を場面別に調査した上で，学習者による不自然な用例を中心に考察した。その結果，①母語話者は初対面会話と友人同士の会話とで終助詞の使い分けが明確であるのに対して，上級学習者は場面による使い分けが不明確であった。②上級学習者は，初対面会話と友人同士の会話のいずれにおいても，「よ」を多用する傾向にあった。③初級学習者は，母語話者のみならず，上級学習者と比べても終助詞の使用率が低く，その中でも「よ」と「よね」に関しては，不自然な使用が多かった。④学習者による不自然な終助詞の使用は，「文」としては問題がなくとも，前後の文脈や状況を考慮すると不自然になるものも多く，不自然になる原因を一要因に特定することが困難であること，そのため，学習者の終助詞を使用する際の心理を考慮することも重要であることが明らかになった。これらの結果から以下の4点が明らかになった。①からは，人間関係による終助詞の使い分けと配慮を会話教育に取り入れる必要性があること，②に関しては，「よ」の多用は相手に押し付けがましい印象を与えてしまう恐れがあるため，教育上注意する必要があること，③に関しては，文脈を提示して終助詞を経験的に習得させる必要があること，④に関しては，学習者のコミュニケーション能力の育成につなげるためには，単文レベルではなく，文脈と発話時の心理も考慮した終助詞の指導方法の開発が必要であることである。理論的には，今後，各終助詞の機能を談話レベルの文脈と関連づけて，体系的に説明する方法を探る必要があることが示唆された。, In this study, we investigate the use of the sentence-final particles ne, yo, and yone in casual conversation in Japanese-Chinese contact situations taken from the BTSJ Japanese Natural Conversation Corpus with Transcripts and Recordings (2020). We found that: (1) Japanese native speakers used sentence-final particles depending on whether their conversations were with people whom they had met for the first time or with friends, while advanced learners of Japanese did not change the use of these particles depending on the setting. (2) Advanced learners of Japanese tended to use yo frequently both in conversations with people whom they had met for the first time and with friends. (3) Novice learners of Japanese seldom used sentence-final particles compared to both native speakers and advanced learners, and had several instances of unnatural use. (4) There were several instances where learners' use of unnatural sentence-final particles was not problematic as a "sentence", but were unnatural when the context and situation before and after the sentence were taken into consideration, making it difficult to pinpoint the cause of the unnaturalness as a single factor. From these results, we suggest the following four points. To develop learners' communicative competence, it is essential to: (1) incorporate the use of sentence-final particles depending on the interpersonal relationship into teaching about conversation, (2) pay attention to the overuse of yo, because it may give the impression of being pushy, (3) present contexts for learners to acquire the use of sentence-final particles empirically, and (4) develop a method of teaching that considers the discourse-level context and psychological state in the usage of sentence-final particles, and not just its use in a single sentence level. Theoretically, the results suggest that in the future, we need to systematically explain the function of each sentence-final particle in relation to the discourse-level context., application/pdf

The proposed agent system considers attribute information such as age, gender, personality, driving experience and driving characteristics of the driver, and selects and supports highly receptive utterance strategies. Here, as a survey for the development of the proposed system, an impression evaluation experiment on a driving support agent was conducted using a moving picture reflecting driving support scenes. In particular, we focused attention on the difference of the end-of-sentence style which is a representation method of distinctive psychological distances in Japanese conversation. As a result of the experiment, it is suggested that agents using non-polite words may be effective for improving familiarity. On the other hand, the agent using honorifics gives the impression that it is cautious, suggesting the passibility that it feels that information is conveyed accurately., 本稿では，自動車運転者の属性と運転状況に応じて発話戦略をポライトネス理論に基づいて選択し，音声合成発話によって運転を支援するエージェントを提案する。提案するエージェントシステムは，運転者の年代，性別，性格，運転歴，運転特性などの属性情報を考慮したうえで，受容性の高い発話戦略を選択し，支援を行う。ここでは，提案システムの開発に向けた調査として，運転支援場面を映した動画を用いて運転支援エージェントに対する印象評価実験を行った。特に，日本語会話における特徴的な心理的距離の表現方法である文末スタイルの違いに着目した。実験の結果，非敬語を用いるエージェントは，親密度の向上に有効である可能性が示唆された。一方で，敬語を用いるエージェントは慎重であるという印象を与え，正確に情報を伝えていると感じさせる可能性が示唆された。

application/pdf, 国立国語研究所, National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics, This paper briefly reviews the universal theory of politeness put forward by Brown and Levinson in 1978/1987 and the series of argument related to it. It also summarizes the development of politeness research, which especially includes researches under the politeness discursive approach and the politeness theoretical approach since 1990. The politeness discursive approach refers to politeness, honorific systems, honorific use, and cross-cultural comparative and contrastive study in various languages. With its focus on universal explanation, interpretation and prediction of politeness realization in different cultures, the politeness theoretical approach refers to a study of "theoretical" construction based on the motivation of a "realization" of politeness in different languages and cultures. On the basis of confirming the significance, functions and problems of the above contents, this paper, relating to the dialogue research used for dialogue system construction in the current rapidly developing artificial intelligence research, discusses the latest development of discourse politeness theory in the 21st century and the direction of future development.
