Stiles., The University Club building was completed in 1921 and served as a social club for UA faculty, administrators, and their spouses. The club was also called the Campus Club or Faculty Club. The building was primarily built with surplus materials from torn down army barracks. It was also used by the University Women’s Club.

The Arkansas Union opened in 1973 to replace the Futrall Memorial Hall/Student Union. In addition to being a meeting place for students, this campus hub houses multiple student services departments, a technology center, a fitness center, retail, and dining.

View of amphitheatre of Fine Arts Center., The Fine Arts Center was designed by the noted architect Edward Durell Stone, an Arkansas native. Opened in 1951, it was one of the first educational facilities in the country to combine the Fine Arts under one roof. Initially the Departments of Art, Architecture and Music shared the classroom wing of the building, while the Fine Arts Gallery occupied the space between the University Theatre and Concert Hall on the first floor. The small outdoor amphitheater is located on the southwest corner of the Fine Arts Center.

After construction of Mullins Library in 1968, Vol Walker Hall became an academic home to the architecture program. In 2013, an addition of the Steven L. Anderson Design Center and major renovation of the original building allowed the landscape architecture and interior design programs to join architecture in the building.

Hunt Hall was originally the site of the swimming pool building constructed in 1965. The current building was opened in July 1992 as Arkansas Student Hall. On February 6, 1993, the building was named after Silas H. Hunt. Hunt was the first African American student to be admitted to the University of Arkansas. He was admitted to the Law School in 1948.

Instr.] Student Union., Memorial Hall served multiple purposes over the years and at separate times housed several departments. It was opened in March 1940 and originally called the Student Union. The second floor housed offices for The Arkansas Traveler. It became Futrall Memorial Hall (1939), and Memorial Hall (1973), while also being referred to as the Student Union until 1973, when the Arkansas Union was completed. It then became Memorial Hall while also being called the Old Student Union. In 1973 Memorial Hall began housing the Psychology department, and many of the rooms became classrooms. Memorial Hall also began to house the Landscape Architecture and Air Force ROTC departments. The main office for the African and African American Studies (AAST) program has been housed in Memorial Hall since 2014. Memorial Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 1992 as the Student Union Building-University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Higher order higher spin operators are generalizations of kth-powers of the Dirac operator. In this paper, we study higher order higher spin operators defined on some conformally flat manifolds, namely cylinders and Hopf manifolds. We will also construct the kernels of these operators on these manifolds.

Thymosin, originally discovered as a thymic hormone regulating maturation of T cells, is found in many hematopoetic and non-hematopoetic tissues including bone marrow, spleen, and lungs. While studying chicken monocyte- and granulocyte- associated peptides by Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization/ Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry, we found a peptide corresponding to mass/charge ratio (m/z) of 4963. This peptide was prominently associated with monocytes but not with the granulocyte population. Experiments revealed presence of this peptide in chicken macrophage cell lines. We purified the 4963Da peptide from the macrophages by reverse phase HPLC and identified it as thymosin β4 (Tβ4) by peptide mass fingerprinting. Tβ4 binds to G- actin, and regulates its polymerization, which is essential for cell motility. Besides, it is also involved in a multitude of other functions regulating immunity and wound healing. This review surveys the physiological significance of Tβ4 in relation to macrophage function.

Nemerteans (phylum Nemertea) have been viewed by mostzoologists as descended from, or closely related to, the flatworms. This view is based mainly on theirsupposedly acoelomate body. Their ancestry, however, is a point of controversy and there is evidence for acoelomate, protostomous origin. Notwithstanding thesedifferent views, most zoologists consider nemerteansto be phylogenetically distant from the chordates. Four authors (Hubrecht, Macfarlane, Jensen, Willmer), however, have postulated that nemerteans instead areclosely related to the chordates and that they sharea most recent common ancestor with the vertebrates. We argue that this view is based on a flawed view ofhomology and of seeing evolution as a series ofprogressions, which has no support in modernevolutionary thinking. Since there are nomorphological synapomorphies supporting aChordata-Nemertea clade, these authors instead guesswhat characteristics in extant nemerteans gave rise tocharacters observed in recent chordates. For example, they propose that the nemertean proboscis sheath hasevolved into the notochord. This is mere speculation, lacking testable propositions and is hence void ofinformation, and thus becomes futile in our view. However, the idea of a nemertean-vertebrate sisterrelationship as such is a testable hypotheses, and wetest it by applying the parsimony criterion to a setof morphological characters, and a set of molecular(the 18S rRNA gene) characters. Both tests reject thehypothesis.
