Resumo: Este trabalho teve como objetivo explorar por meio de uma revisão bibliométrica a associação entre os temas Indústria 4.0 e flexibilização de sistemas de produção para a customização de produtos e serviços. Para tanto, foi conduzida uma pesquisa bibliométrica empregando os softwares RStudio e VOSviewer no processamento dos dados extraídos das bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science. Os resultados obtidos identificaram quais as palavras-chave com maior índice de ocorrência nos artigos, as publicações com o decorrer dos anos, os autores com maior número de pesquisas realizadas na área entre outras análises. Como principal conclusão do trabalho foi constatado que a indústria 4.0, a flexibilização dos sistemas produtivos e a customização em massa estão diretamente relacionados, a Alemanha é o país que mais aparece em citações de co-autoria e a quantidade de publicações acerca desse tema atingiu seu ápice no último ano.Palavras-chave: Indústria 4.0, customização em massa, personalização em massa, sistema de produção flexível, digitalização, sistemas cyber-físicos, análise bibliométrica.

A pesquisa estudou um dispositivo intersetorial que ocorre em um CAPSi – Centro de Atenção Psicossocial infantil – no extremo sul do município de São Paulo, do qual vinte e oito trabalhadores do serviço de Saúde, Educação e Assistência Social, que atuam com crianças e/ou adolescentes com sofrimentos psíquicos, participaram. O Laboratório de Inclusão é um dispositivo reconhecido pela rede de sua área de abrangência como um espaço importante, no qual os profissionais participantes podem compartilhar casos (clínicos) e dificuldades no trato e no cotidiano com crianças e adolescentes em sofrimento psíquico. Esses trabalhadores chegam ao Laboratório de Inclusão em momentos agudos e críticos, isto é, quando os conflitos ou impasses gerados na relação com as crianças e/ou adolescentes tornam-se insuportáveis ou incontroláveis, atribuindo a eles a responsabilidade do desajuste. A pesquisa e a condução dos encontros foram realizadas pelo autor/profissional que se orienta pelo referencial da psicanálise em seu manejo e compreensão dos fenômenos apresentados. Esta abordagem proporcionou aos participantes do Laboratório o reconhecimento sobre a importância do olhar singular do “caso a caso”. O método utilizado foi o da pesquisa-intervenção a partir do estudo de caso. Os dados foram colhidos de dezesseis encontros gravados, transcritos e analisados com o referencial teórico da psicanálise; foram utilizados também um questionário inicial e entrevista. Os resultados foram demonstrados passo a passo, desde a chegada dos participantes ao Laboratório, a dinâmica dos encontros até os seus efeitos. Foram verificados efeitos dos participantes ao participarem do Laboratório e o processo vivenciado por eles nesse dispositivo. Inicialmente, apresentavam fragilidades na condição emocional que incapacitavam a relação com crianças e adolescentes em sofrimento psíquico; acreditavam que suas capacidades técnicas eram insuficientes para lidar com essa população e a condição de desconforto aparecia como resultado de um mal-estar, fruto de seu cotidiano. Os encontros proporcionaram aos participantes alívio, reflexão e criação, elementos que modificaram a maneira como eles pensavam sobre essas crianças, e passaram a enxergá-las como sujeitos com dificuldades e potenciais. Desse modo, manifestaram desejo de estar com elas de forma acolhedora e inclusiva. Ficou evidente, pela pesquisa, como a condução de um analista na instituição, especificamente no Laboratório de Inclusão, oportunizou tais efeitos. Por fim, foi demonstrada a aplicabilidade do dispositivo estudado, sua relevância no campo da saúde mental, como importante espaço de diálogo. ABSTRACT The research studied an intersectorial device that occurs in a CAPSi - Child Psychosocial Care Center - in the extreme south of the city of São Paulo, of which twenty-eight workers from the Health, Education and Social Assistance service, who work with children and/or teenagers with psychic suffering, participated. The Inclusion Laboratory is a device recognized by the network in its area of coverage as an important space in which participating professionals can share (clinical) cases and difficulties in dealing with and in daily life with children and adolescents in psychological distress. These workers arrive at the Inclusion Laboratory at acute and critical moments, that is, when conflicts or impasses generated in the relationship with children and/or adolescents become unbearable or uncontrollable, attributing to them the responsibility for the maladjustment. The research and conduct of the meetings were carried out by the author/professional who is guided by the psychoanalytic framework in his handling and understanding of the phenomena presented. This approach provided the Laboratory participants with recognition of the importance of the singular look of the “case by case”. The method used was the research-intervention based on the case study. Data were collected from sixteen recorded meetings, transcribed and analyzed with the theoretical framework of psychoanalysis; an initial questionnaire and interview were also used. The results were demonstrated step by step, from the arrival of the participants to the Laboratory, the dynamics of the meetings until their effects. Effects of the participants when participating in the Laboratory and the process experienced by them in this device were verified. Initially, they had weaknesses in their emotional condition that made their relationship with children and adolescents in psychological distress unable to cope; they believed that their technical skills were insufficient to deal with this population and the condition of discomfort appeared as a result of discomfort resulting from their daily lives. The meetings provided the participants with relief, reflection and creation, elements that changed the way they thought about these children, and began to see them as subjects with difficulties and potential. In this way, they expressed a desire to be with them in a welcoming and inclusive way. It was evident, through the research, how the conduct of an analyst in the institution, specifically in the Inclusion Laboratory, created such effects. Finally, the applicability of the device studied was demonstrated, its relevance in the field of mental health, as an important space for dialogue. In highly dynamic business environments, the possibility of generating information pushes companies to use efficiently a huge volume of data, in both resources and capacities approaches. This paper aimed to analyze the relation between Big Data and competitive advantage using the resource-based view and the dynamic capabilities. Three international databases were used and analyzed 29 articles. Results indicated that both the resource-based view and the dynamic capabilities approach are used to analyze Big Data as competitive advantage creator. Two aspects were evidenced: the combined approaches can result in more consistent analyses; and the lack of a robust theoretical framework for Big Data analysis is evidenced by the predominance of descriptive articles and practical reports. RESUMO A competitividade no mercado global exige uma transformação contínua nos conteúdos de tecnologia da informação, principalmente pela inserção de novas ferramentas e técnicas que evoluem rapidamente e são absorvidas pelos membros das organizações. Este cenário de avanço de novas tecnologias nas organizações trouxe desafios enfrentados pela necessidade de coletar, armazenar, processar e transformar seus dados em informações relevantes para a criação de vantagem competitiva. Em ambientes de negócios altamente dinâmicos, a possibilidade de geração de informações impulsiona as empresas a utilizarem de forma eficiente um grande volume de dados, tanto em recursos quanto em capacidades. Este artigo teve como objetivo analisar a relação entre Big Data e vantagem competitiva utilizando a visão baseada em recursos e as capacidades dinâmicas. Três bases de dados internacionais foram utilizadas e analisados 29 artigos. Os resultados indicaram que tanto a visão baseada em recursos quanto a abordagem de recursos dinâmicos são usados para analisar Big Data como criador de vantagem competitiva. Dois aspectos foram evidenciados: as abordagens combinadas podem resultar em análises mais consistentes; e a falta de um referencial teórico robusto para a análise de Big Data é evidenciada pela predominância de artigos descritivos e relatórios práticos. Diante da globalização e internacionalização das economias, alguns países têm proposto políticas econômicas voltadas à criação de aglomerações industriais, focadas na exportação, denominadas Zonas de Processamento de Exportação (ZPE). No Brasil, projetos de ZPEs têm sido propostos desde o final da década de1980, visando atrair investimentos estrangeiros e desenvolver regiões, por meio de geração de divisas, especialização da indústria e aumento das exportações. Atualmente, em 2019, o país conta com 25 projetos, em suas diversas regiões. Destes, apenas 19 em efetiva implantação e somente a unidade de Pecém-CE com atividades iniciadas em 2014. Diante do baixo índice de implementação dos projetos brasileiros de ZPEs, o objetivo deste artigo é caracterizar etapas, objetivos propostos, dificuldades e obstáculos enfrentados no processo de implantação da ZPE em Fernandópolis-SP. A estratégia de pesquisa foi o estudo de caso, valendo-se de múltiplas fontes de informação. Além de consulta à legislação e a documentos, foi feita observação direta e foram realizadas entrevistas com principais stakeholders. Os resultados da pesquisa, que deu suporte a este artigo, permitiram identificar dificuldades de ordens diversas, que vão desde ausência de incentivos por parte do Estado até indecisões acerca da forma de gerenciamento da empresa administradora da ZPE. Pôde-se concluir que, para a efetividade de uma ZPE, voltada ao desenvolvimento local/regional, fazem-se necessários: a) planejamento estratégico, contemplando características, disponibilidades e limitações locais/regionais; b) políticas públicas específicas, implementadas pelas diversas esferas de governo; c) formulação de objetivos claros e ágeis, para tornar o projeto atrativo do ponto de vista empresarial.Palavras chave: Aglomerações produtivas. ABSTRACTFaced with the globalization and internationalization of their economies, some countries have proposed economic policies aimed at creating export-focused industrial agglomerations called Export Processing Zones (EPZs). In Brazil, EPZ projects have been proposed since the late 1980s to attract foreign investment and develop regions through foreign exchange generation, industry specialization and increased exports. Currently, in 2019, the country has 25 projects in its various regions. Of these, only 19 in effective implementation and only the Pecém-CE unit with activities started in 2014. Given the low implementation rate of Brazilian EPZ projects, the objective of this article is to characterize stages, proposed objectives, difficulties and obstacles faced in the EPZ implementation process in Fernandópolis-SP. The research strategy was the case study, using multiple sources of information. In addition to consultation the legislation and the documents, direct observation was made and interviews were conducted with key stakeholders. The results of the research, which supported this article, allowed us to identify difficulties of various kinds, ranging from the absence of incentives from the state to uncertainty about the management of the EPZ management company. It can be concluded that, for the effectiveness of an EPZ, focused on local / regional development, it is necessary to: a) strategic planning, including local / regional characteristics, availability and limitations; b) specific public policies implemented by the various spheres of government; c) formulation of clear and agile objectives to make the project attractive from the business point of view.Keywords: Productive agglomerations. Neste artigo, propomos fazer um estudo discursivo acerca dos discursos produzidos por leitores de Saussure preocupados em questionar e mostrar o “verdadeiro” pensamento saussuriano com base em suas fontes manuscritas. Trata-se de gestos de leitura críticos sobre sua obra fundante, CLG, que visam trazer novas reflexões sobre a sua figura e a sua teoria na pós-modernidade. Desse modo, fazer uma reavaliação de sua obra, tentando localizar o que ficou dela nos dias de hoje, em meio a esse contexto atual de novas reflexões, pode, muitas vezes, significar uma volta a um constructo teórico considerado por alguns estudiosos “ultrapassado” e “superado”. Nesse sentido, na contramão desse pensamento, propomos revisitar suas proposições teóricas iniciais que permitem reconhecer a sua contribuição e analisar como Saussure é lido hoje, por meio de uma edição crítica produzida por Simon Bouquet, Introdução à leitura de Saussure, que produz sua narrativa a partir da leitura dos manuscritos. Ancoramos epistemologicamente a nossa proposta de trabalho na Análise do discurso de orientação francesa, sobretudo na discussão empreendida por Jacques Guilhaumou acerca da noção de acontecimentos discursivo e da narrativa do acontecimento. ABSTRACT In this article, we propose to make a discursive study about the discourses produced by readers of Saussure concerned with questioning and showing the "true" Saussurian thought based on their handwritten sources. These are critical reading gestures about his foundational work, CLG, which aim to bring new reflections about his figure and his theory in postmodernity. Thus, to make a re-evaluation of his work, trying to locate what has remained of it nowadays, amid this current context of new reflections can often mean a return to a theoretical construct considered by some scholars "outdated" and "exceeded". In this sense, contrary to this thought, we propose revisiting this initial scenario that allow us to recognize his contributions and analyze how Saussure is read today, through a critical edition produced by Simon Bouquet, Introdução à leitura de Saussure (in Portuguese), which produces his narrative by reading the manuscripts. We present our work proposal in the French discourse analysis, especially in the discussion undertaken by Jacques Guilhaumou about the notion of discursive event and narrative of the event. The genetic diversity of maize populations, coupled with the efficiency and use of nutrients, allows the identification of populations that may be used as parents in future breeding programs. Thus, were realized four trials of maize populations in the year 2010, be two installate in inter-crop period and two crops period, in Center Agrotechnological - University Federal of Tocantins, in Palmas city of Tocantins State. At each period, populations were conducted under high and low N (150 kg ha-1 N and 0 kg ha-1 N) respectively in the coverage. The experimental design used in each trial was randomized blocks with three replications and 10 treatments. We studied the characteristic percentage of protein and determined the EUN by populations, using the methodology from Fischer. The genetic diversity was performed by multivariate procedures: Mahalanobis distance and grouping method of Tocher in the study of genetic diversity, each trial representing a distinct variable in the multivariate model. The lower content of protein were obtained under low N the crop period. The Populations POP 3 and POP 13 were efficiency and promising for protein production.

The genotypes present differential behavior as a function of genotype x environment interaction, having an effect on heritability estimation and selection gain. Thus, the present study was carried out with the objective of studying the interaction genotype x environment, for oil content in corn grains, as a function of nitrogen doses and sowing times. In the agricultural year 2015/16, six competition trials of maize genotypes were carried out in Palmas-TO, three of which were installed on 12.01.2015 and three on 01.01.2016. The trials were installed at two sowing times, and in each season, the genotypes were cultivated under conditions of low, medium and high nitrogen in coverage. The experimental design used in each trial was randomized blocks with 12 genotypes and three replicates. Analyzes of adaptability, stability, stratification and environmental dissimilarity were performed. The genotype GEN 12 is potentially promising for the oil content, being considered ideal by the methodology of Eberhart & Russel (1966). Evaluations of maize genotypes, carried out at different times under the same fertilization dose, provide similar results.

O Front End representa a fase inicial do Processo de Desenvolvimento de Produtos (PDP). Nesta fase, decisões importantes são tomadas e determinadas pelos gestores das empresas e, se equivocadas, podem suscitar problemas no desempenho do produto proposto pelas empresas quando lançado no mercado consumidor. No Brasil, as fases iniciais do desenvolvimento de produtos para o setor de alimentos são pouco difundidas, já que são estratégicas para os fabricantes. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo consiste em identificar os modelos de pré-desenvolvimento de produtos listados pela literatura e analisar o modelo que é utilizado em uma das principais indústrias do setor alimentício brasileiro. Em termos metodológicos, aplicou-se uma Revisão Bibliográfica Sistemática (RBS) e estudo de caso. Como resultados, o estudo indica que há escassa literatura científica sobre as técnicas utilizadas no Front End de novos produtos. Além disso, pode-se verificar que a fase inicial do PDP é necessária no desenvolvimento de produto alimentício. ABSTRACT The Front End represents an early phase of the Product Development Process (PDP). At this stage, they are taken and determined by managers of the companies, if mistaken, can raise problems without the performance of the product proposed by the companies when launched in the consumer market. In Brazil, the initial stages of the development of products for the food sector are less widespread, since they are strategic for manufacturers. Thus, the objective of this article is to identify the pre-development models of products listed in the literature and to analyze the model that is used in one of the main industries of the Brazilian food sector. In methodological terms, a Systematic Bibliographic Review (RBS) and case study were applied. As a result, the study indicates that there is scant scientific literature on the techniques is not Front End of new products. In addition, one can verify the initial phase of the PDP is necessary, there is no development of food product. Estudos intergeracionais contribuem para a compreensão dos processos de desenvolvimento e adaptação familiar, em famílias de crianças com e sem alterações no desenvolvimento. Objetivo: compreender a realidade de famílias de crianças com deficiência intelectual e com desenvolvimento típico, sob a ótica de três gerações, acerca do cotidiano e de práticas de apoio existentes na família. Metodologia: Participaram do estudo 36 familiares (avós, mães e irmãos mais velhos) de crianças com deficiência intelectual e de crianças com desenvolvimento típico, os quais responderam a entrevistas semiestruturadas. Verificou-se que avós de ambos os grupos representam importante fonte de apoio à família. O relacionamento intergeracional entre avós e netos mais velhos apresentou-se como positivo na vida de ambos, embora, no caso das famílias de crianças com deficiência, tenha sido observado que a interação entre avós e netos mais velhos é acrescida de características específicas desta realidade. Discute-se sobre a contribuição dos relacionamentos intergeracionais no desenvolvimento de todos os membros da família e destacam-se especificidades em famílias de crianças com deficiência. ABSTRACT Intergenerational studies contribute to the understanding of the processes of development and family adaptation in families of children with or without developmental alterations. Objective: To comprehend the reality of families of children with intellectual and developmental disability from the perspective of three generations, about everyday practices and an existing support from the family. Methodology: The study included 36 relatives (gradmothers, mothers and older siblings) of children with intellectual disability and children with typical development, that answered semi-structured surveys. Results: Grandparents from both groups represent an important source of support for the family. Intergenerational relationships between grandparents and older grandchildren have a positive effect in the lives of both, although for families with disabled children the interaction is added by specific characteristics of this reality. The contribution of intergenerational relationships in the developments of all family members is discussed and the specificities of families of disabled children are highlighted. Key-Words: Family. Objetivo: realizar uma revisão bibliográfica nacional e internacional sobre ações de promoção e prevenção em saúde mental ocorridas no ambiente escolar. Método: os dados foram coletados a partir da busca nas bases Scielo, Portal de Periódicos da CAPES e banco de Teses e Dissertações da CAPES, utilizando os seguintes unitermos: mental health promotion, teacher – student relationship, school-families relatonship, school, intervenção, saúde mental; problemas de comportamento, intervenção de saúde e escola, focalizando publicações do período de 2003 a junho de 2013. Os resultados encontrados foram analisados a partir de um protocolo de registro adaptado para este estudo. Resultados: foram selecionados um artigo nacional; uma dissertação de mestrado nacional e 17 artigos internacionais.Verificou-se que há uma escassez de estudos na literatura nacional e internacional, podendo isto estar relacionado ao fato de que políticas e pesquisas no campo da saúde mental infantojuvenil ainda são recentes, ou, ainda ao fato de a área da saúde ser o principal setor em que ações de promoção de saúde são realizadas. Conclusão: observou-se que as ações relatadas parecem pontuais e desarticuladas de outros equipamentos de atenção à saúde de crianças e adolescentes e, além disso, não consideram as realidades e demandas das populações-alvo no planejamento das ações. Por outro lado, nos trabalhos internacionais, foi possível verificar alguns que focalizaram diferentes autores, o que vai ao encontro da literatura que trata de intervenções em saúde mental infantil. ABSTRACT Objective: To that purpose, the objective was then to conduct a national and international literature review of mental health promotion and prevention actions which had taken place in school environments. Methods: The data was collected from scielo databases, the CAPES Journal Portal and bank Theses and Dissertations CAPES, by using the following key words while focusing on publications from 2003 to June 2013: mental health promotion, teacher-student relationship, school-families relationship, school, intervention, mental health, behavior problems, and health and school intervention. The results were analyzed through an appropriate registration protocol. Results: found to be a particular national article; a national master's thesis and 17 international articles. It was found that there is a lack of studies in national and international literature, which may be related to the fact that policy and research in the field of infant-juvenile mental health are still fresh or even the fact that the health sector is the foremost one in which health promotion actions are performed. Conclusion: It was observed that the reported actions appear to be limited and disconnected from other equipment which attends to the health of children and adolescents and also it does not consider the realities and demands of the targeted market when planning its actions. On the other hand, it was found in the international articles some works that focused on different actors, which coincides to the literature that deals with interventions in children’s mental health. Os alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem apresentam desordens que interferem na recepção, integração, retenção ou expressão das informações, desencadeando déficits de memória, perceptivos, motores, de linguagem, de pensamento e/ou metacognitivos. Estes déficits geram limitações para a aprendizagem da leitura, escrita, cálculo e aptidões sociais. As causas para essas dificuldades estão relacionadas ao sujeito que aprende e ao ambiente físico e/ou social da escola. Este estudo verificou as práticas de identificação e as estratégias de ensino adotadas por professores de alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem. O método contemplou o estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com seis professoras da rede municipal de ensino fundamental de uma cidade de médio porte do interior do estado de São Paulo. Como resultados, o estudo revela diversas práticas de identificação das dificuldades de aprendizagem e estratégias de ensino adotadas pelos professores. Contudo, essas práticas são advindas de um esforço por parte da instituição na qual se vinculam os professores, havendo um trabalho efetivo em responder adequadamente às demandas desta população. Como conclusão, foram encontradas limitações nas políticas educacionais brasileiras. Para uma efetiva inclusão escolar de alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem, faz-se necessário que a própria política de inclusão educacional rompa com a tendência de se destinar ao alunado com deficiências e passe a considerar que outras alterações no desenvolvimento também integram o cotidiano de crianças que frequentam a escola e não são consideradas no universo da “necessidade educativa especial”.

Path analysis allows the deployment of the correlation coefficient in direct and indirect effects, allowing the study of cause and effect of a characteristic over the other. As nitrogen influences the development of culture, can also influence the path analysis results. The aim of this work was to evaluate the plant height and their daily increment the vegetative stage (V6) until the reproductive stage (R1), and grain yield of twelve genotypes under three different levels of nitrogen in coverage, and the contribution of these characteristics on grain yield. Three experiments were conducted, and each one was represented by three levels of nitrogen in coverage, 20, 80 e 140 kg.ha-1. The experimental design was randomized blocks with twelve treatments and three replications. For the Path analysis, plant height 4 (AP4) and growth rate 3 (TX3) were the yield components that showed the highest total correlation with the yield (0.462 and 0.661; respectively), when it was used 20 kg N.ha-1. The G3 genotype had shown the best results, and the nitrogen significantly influenced the characteristics: plant height and grain yield with greater efficiency for the level 80 of nitrogen in covered. A análise de trilha permite o desdobramento do coeficiente de correlação em efeitos diretos e indiretos, permitindo o estudo de causa e efeito de uma característica sobre a outra. Como o nitrogênio influência no desenvolvimento da cultura, também pode influenciar nos resultados da análise de trilha. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a altura de plantas e seu incremento diário do estádio vegetativo (V6) até o estádio reprodutivo (R1), o rendimento de grãos de doze genótipos de milho sob três doses diferentes de nitrogênio em cobertura, e a contribuição dessas características no rendimento de grãos. Foram realizados três experimentos, os quais foram representados por três doses de nitrogênio em cobertura, 20, 80 e 140 kg.ha-1. O delineamento foi em blocos ao acaso com doze tratamentos e três repetições. Pela análise de trilha, verificou-se que a altura de plantas 4 (AP4) e taxa de crescimento 3 (TX3) foram os componentes de rendimento que apresentaram maior correlação total com a produtividade (0,462 e 0,661; respectivamente), quando utilizado a dose 20 kg N.ha-1. O genótipo G3 foi o que apresentou melhores resultados, e o nitrogênio influenciou de forma significativa as características altura de planta e produção de grãos, com maior eficiência para a dose 80.

As dificuldades de leitura e escrita em crianças são tema de interesse multidisciplinar, nos meios educacionais, acadêmicos e clínicos. Nesse contexto, pode-se citar os benefícios trazidos pela tecnologia computacional ao ensino para o treino da habilidade de leitura. O presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar os resultados de uma intervenção por meio do software MestreLibras com um aluno com dificuldade de aprendizagem em leitura. Foram avaliados os efeitos de um programa de intervenção no processo de aprendizagem e desempenho escolar em leitura de um aluno, analisando os fatores que influenciaram no desempenho das tarefas sugeridas. Os resultados mostraram que o programa computacional MestreLibras é uma ferramenta educativa eficaz para o ensino de leitura em sala de aula. Portanto, pode ser uma estratégia de ensino informatizada para aplicação junto a alunos com dificuldades em leitura, indicando que o uso do computador em sala de aula é um favorecedor do processo educacional e um recurso para a prática pedagógica. In this context, can mention the benefits brought by computer technology to education for the training of reading ability. The present study aims to analyze the results of an intervention through MestreLibras software with a student with a learning difficulties in reading. The effects of an intervention program in the learning and academic performance of a student in reading process were evaluated by analyzing the factors that influence the performance of the suggested tasks. The results showed that the computer program MestreLibras is an effective educational tool for teaching reading in the classroom. Therefore, it can be a strategy for implementation of computerized teaching with students with difficulties in reading, indicating that the use of computers in the classroom that favors the educational process and a resource for teaching practice. By using molecules functionalized with alkoxysilyl groups as end chain it is possible to obtain hybrid NIPUs, also called urethanesils, by sol–gel chemistry. Using bis-cyclocarbonate polydimethylsiloxane (CCPDMS) with proper diamines and end-chain amino silanes followed by sol–gel processing leads to versatile hybrid non-isocyanate polydimethylsiloxane urethanes (PDMS-urethanesil). This review reports—besides our recent studies about PDMS-urethanesil materials—the sol–gel chemistry applied to synthesize urethanesil and its applications. While the antimicrobial, photochromic, and anticorrosion properties of urethanesil loaded with phosphotungstic acid as well as the luminescent effect of material loaded with Eu3+ have already been reported, antimicrobial features of urethanesil loaded with phosphoric acid are our newest findings which we herein report for the first time. The impact of the inorganic acid used on the sol–gel process is highlighted together with the importance of antibiofouling properties. Although the antibiofouling mechanism is still under investigation, the broad spectrum of action of phosphoric acid-loaded urethanesil is worth mentioning, since it has been tested to be efficient against some pathogenic bacteria including a drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus strain as well as pathogenic fungi and yeast. Due to the simple, straightforward, and highly reproducible synthesis as well as the opportunity to obtain versatile materials with tuneable mechanical and physical properties, this new class of hybrid materials promises to be applicable in different industrial fields. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 The spectral characteristics of vertebrate ocular lenses affect the image of the world that is projected onto the retina, and thus help shape diverse visual capabilities. Here, we tested whether amphibian lens transmission is driven by adaptation to diurnal activity (bright light) and/or scansorial habits (complex visual environments). Spectral transmission through the lenses of 79 species of frogs and six species of salamanders was measured, and data for 29 additional frog species compiled from published literature. Phylogenetic comparative methods were used to test ecological explanations of variation in lens transmission and to test for selection across traits. Lenses of diurnal (day-active) and scansorial (climbing) frogs transmitted significantly less shortwave light than those of non-diurnal or non-scansorial amphibians, and evolutionary modelling suggested that these differences have resulted from differential selection. The presence of shortwave-transparent lenses was common among the sampled amphibians, which implies that many are sensitive to shortwave light to some degree even in the absence of visual pigments maximally sensitive in the UV. This suggests that shortwave light, including UV, could play an important role in amphibian behaviour and ecology. Shortwave-absorbing lens pigments likely provide higher visual acuity to diurnally active frogs of multiple ecologies and to nocturnally active scansorial frogs. This new mechanistic understanding of amphibian visual systems suggests that shortwave-filtering lenses are adaptive not only in daylight conditions but also in those scotopic conditions where high acuity is advantageous. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 Identifying deforested areas with high potential for natural forest recovery can be used as an aid for ecological restoration projects at large-scale. However, accurate predictions that infer the resilience (i.e. recovery rate after deforestation) and stability (i.e. the ability of the ecosystem to maintain its functions) of early second-growth forests are scarce at a regional scale. Here, we investigated the effect of climate, soil and topography on the resilience and stability of 165 early second-growth forests throughout the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. We also built prediction maps of potential resilience and stability to identify where reforestation could be optimized in the early stages of forest succession. We assessed the resilience and stability through an interannual plant primary productivity time series using a normalized difference vegetation index. Our analysis reveals that resilience was mainly associated with isothermality (i.e. diurnal temperature oscillation relative to the annual temperature oscillation) and precipitation of the warmest quarter. In turn, stability was mainly associated with the probability of bedrock occurrence, annual precipitation and precipitation seasonality. The prediction maps show a spatial pattern in which potential resilience and stability increase from north to south of the Atlantic Forest. Forest restoration can be optimized in regions with high potential resilience and stability, such as an isolated area on the north coast in the Bahia state and the southern region. However, restoration may require active practices and management in regions with low potential for both ecosystem properties, such as the north inland in the Bahia and Minas Gerais states. This ecosystemic approach can help achieve Atlantic Forest restoration commitments. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 Changes in land use in riverside ecosystems added to the flood and ebb regimes of rivers modify the spatial variability of the physical–mechanical attributes of soil, making it more susceptible to degradation processes, especially during the rainy season. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of the use of a Eutric Cambisol, which was cultivated with banana trees, on the pattern of spatial variability of physical–mechanical attributes of the soil under two states of consistency in riparian zones of the Ribeira de Iguape River, São Paulo, Brazil. After the flood period, soil samples were collected from 0.0 to 0.2 m soil depth up to 200 m perpendicular from the river. The study of the spatial variability of soil attributes is considered to be one of the principles of precision agriculture enabling site-specific management. Such data can be used for interpolation, the use of inverse weighted distance (IDW) was chosen, a widely used deterministic method for multivariate interpolation. The following soil attributes were measured: particle-size distribution (clay, silt and sand), water content, bulk density (initial and preconsolidation pressure), cone index, compression index and preconsolidation pressure. The effects of flood and ebb periods on the resilience of these attributes in the Ribeira de Iguape River were evaluated by subjecting the soil to solid and plastic states of soil consistency. The pattern of spatial variation of the physical–mechanical attributes of the Eutric Cambisol was modified: spatial continuity in the soil attributes was greater under smaller water contents (ebb) and less, i.e. greater spatial variation, under flood conditions. The physical and mechanical qualities of the Eutric Cambisol were more affected in the soil closer to the water body. Extreme changes in the load-bearing capacity of the soil with high solid states and weak plastic states consistencies show its susceptibility to structural degradation, mainly under the river flood regimes. The study led to the isolation of four new 3-methyl-isoquinoline alkaloids ( 1 - 4 ) and four known polyketides ( 5 - 8 ). The structures of compounds 1 - 4 were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR experiments and HRMS analysis. The absolute configuration of 4 was determined by comparison of its experimental electronic circular dichroism spectrum with calculated data. Compounds 1 - 4 exhibited antifungal activity with minimal inhibitory concentration values ranging from 6.25 - 50 mu g/mL against six Candida species but they did not present any cytotoxic activity against the human tumor cell lines A549 (lung), MCF-7 (breast), and HepG2 (hepatocellular). In addition, compound 4 exhibited antiplasmodial activity in the low micromolar range (IC (50) = 4 mu M). In Brazil, the presence of this new technology is still nascent and few studies on the subject are found in the literature, especially in terms of consumer perspectives. This research aimed to identify the determining factors for the Intention to Use electric cars in Brazil, adopting a research model based on the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior and the influence of consumer emotions. Data was collected from an online survey of 488 Brazilian respondents and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling technique. The results reveal that a perceived relative advantage and a perceived compatibility associated with the use of the electric car have a positive effect on the attitudes of the respondents, and that positive attitudes towards the electric car have, in turn, a positive effect on the Intention to Use the same. Attitudes towards the electric car and the influence of emotions were identified as the biggest predictors of Intention to Use. The results also indicate that, despite the positive inclination of respondents in relation to using and even buying an electric car, there is still much concern about the charging infrastructure, charging time and vehicle autonomy, in addition to other barriers, such as the purchase price. These findings are in line with the results of several studies of the same scope, carried out in other countries. The results of the present study may shed light on the discussion of the topic in Brazil, in addition to providing stakeholders in electromobility in the country with information that benefits the development of policies and guidelines for the spread of electric car use in Brazil. Historicamente há dificuldade no reconhecimento de grupos considerados minoritários, aqui sublinhados: as pessoas com deficiências, no que cerne a legitimar suas ações, enquanto seres sociais e pertencentes a sociedades. Por este ângulo e baseado em perspectivas e conceitos críticos, que levam à compreensão do peso discursivo e o reflexo destas nas ações político-governamentais, este estudo objetivou analisar e mapear criticamente em site oficial a divulgação de informações sobre o COVID-19 e pessoa com deficiência. A análise realizada mapeou o site com a utilização de dois descritores: pessoa com deficiência e deficiência. Os dados relvelaram que dos 30 ícones pesquisados, somente dois possuíam informações que relacionavam a pandemia do novo coronavírus com o público em questão, o que possibilitou afirmar a violência simbólica vivenciada pelas pessoas com deficiência, a relação desigual no combate e prevenção da COVID-19, a manutenção de poder da classe dominante e a constituição de uma identidade invisibilizada.

In this context, this work aims to generate multiple regression models to estimate the properties of shrinkage and compression parallel and normal to the grain of Brazilian tropical woods as a function of the values of porosity, density, and for both properties, with porosity being obtained by mercury intrusion porosimetry. As a result, the radial (RRT) and total tangential (RTT) shrinkage could be estimated through porosity. However, it was not possible to estimate them considering only density as an independent variable. All the models that were used were able to accurately estimate the modulus of resistance and modulus of elasticity values (f(c,0), E-c,E-0, f(c,90), and E-c,E-90). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 Objective: The aim of this study was to identify determinants of endothelial dysfunction in patients hospitalized with acute COVID-19. Methods: A total of 109 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in noncritical status were cross-sectionally studied. Clinical data (age, sex, comorbidities, and medications) and BMI were assessed. Laboratory tests included serum hemoglobin, leukocytes, lymphocytes, platelets, C-reactive protein, ferritin, D-dimer, and creatinine. Physical status was evaluated using a handgrip dynamometer. Endothelial function was assessed noninvasively using the flow-mediated dilation (FMD) method. Results: The sample average age was 51 years, 51% of patients were male, and the most frequent comorbidity was obesity (62%). Univariate analysis showed association of lower FMD with higher BMI, hypertension, use of oral antihypertensive, higher blood levels of creatinine, and larger baseline artery diameter. After adjusting for confounders, the multivariate analysis showed BMI (95% CI: −0.26 to −0.11; p < 0.001) as the major factor associated with FMD. Other factors associated with FMD were baseline artery diameter (95% CI: −1.77 to −0.29; p = 0.007) and blood levels of creatinine (95% CI: −1.99 to −0.16; p = 0.022). Conclusions: Increased BMI was the major factor associated with endothelial dysfunction in noncritically hospitalized COVID-19 patients. This may explain one of the pathways in which obesity may increase the risk for severe COVID-19. Seven healthy physically active men performed a graded exercise test and an exhaustive supramaximal effort at 115% of maximal aerobic power with muscles biopsies performed in rest and immediately after exhaustion for quantifying of muscle metabolites changes by 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The time until exhaustion (tlim) recorded was 224.7 ± 35.5 s whereas the muscle pH at exhaustion was 6.48 ± 0.05. A total of 54 metabolites were identified and quantified. The most enriched and impacted pathways included: beta oxidation of very long chain fatty acids, mitochondrial electron transport chain, alanine aspartate, and glutamate metabolism, citric acid cycle, arginine biosynthesis, propanoate metabolism, threonine and 2-oxobutanoate degradation and pyruvate metabolism. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-11-01 Savanna tree communities occurring in confluence zones with other biomes likely experience different environmental pressures, resulting in shifts in the selection of individual traits, the combinations of such traits, and species composition. In seasonally dry fire-prone environments, plant survival is presumably associated with adaptive changes in bark properties related to fire protection and water storage. Here, we integrated the multiple functions of the bark to investigate whether different selective pressures could influence patterns of variation in bark structure and allocation across species in a broad geographical range. We measured thickness, density, and water content of the inner and outer bark in branches and the main stem of the 51 most abundant species in three savanna communities differing in climatic aridity, one located at the core region of Cerrado in Central Brazil and the other two at its periphery, in the transition zones with Amazonia and Atlantic forest biomes. We found no difference in outer bark thickness but markedly difference in inner bark thickness between the three plant communities. In the central region, where dry season is long and fire is frequent, branches and main stem showed thicker inner bark. Contrastingly, in the south periphery region, where dry season is short, species showed thinner inner bark in both branches and main stem. Species from the north periphery region, where mean annual precipitation is higher, but fire is frequent and the dry season is also long, showed similar main stem inner bark thickness, but thinner branch inner bark compared to core region species. Our findings support the idea that investing in inner bark thickness and bark moisture may be the most advantageous strategy in plant communities that suffer from high evaporative demand during a long period and are at a high risk of fire. The service distribution challenge is becoming more evident and a need for better service options is emerging. The focus of the work is to optimize issues related to the allocation of resources in Edge Computing, improving the quality of service (QoS) with new methodologies. An algorithm based on a bio-inspired model was developed. This algorithm is based on the behavior of gray wolves and it is called Algorithm for 5G Resource Management Optmization in Edge Computing (GROMEC). The algorithm uses the meta-heuristic technique applied to Edge Computing, to result in a better allocation resources through user equipment (UE). The resources considered for allocation in that work are processing, memory, time and storage. Two genetic algorithms were used to define the fitness of an Edge in relation to the resource. Two other algorithms that use traditional techniques in the literature, the Best-First and AHP methods, were considered in the evaluation and comparison with the GROMEC. In the function used to calculate fitness during the simulation made with the GROMEC, the proposed algorithm had a lower number of denied services, presented a low number of blocks and was able to meet the largest number of UEs allocating on average up to 50% more in relation to the Best and 5.25% in relation to Nancy. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and atomic absorption spectroscopy were employed for the film characterization. For the postharvest experiments, unwrapped fruits were compared to individually wrapped ones in both conventional polyvinyl chloride film and polyvinyl chloride film containing silver and stored under two conditions (10 days at 15°C, and 2 days at 22°C to simulate market conditions). The physicochemical analyzes, including soluble solids, titratable acidity, ratio, pH, ascorbic acid, weight loss, firmness and color were performed every two days of storage, while microbiological analyzes were performed on the 1st and 10th day of storage. Sensory analysis was carried on the last day of storage. Physicochemical analyses showed that fruits wrapped with polyvinyl chloride films presented a lower weight loss compared to than unwrapped fruits. These results were in accordance with sensory analysis. More importantly, papaya wrapped with polyvinyl chloride film containing silver kept papaya peel green for longer time causing a delay in ripening, indicating its potential to extend postharvest shelf-life of papaya and reduce postharvest losses. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-01-01 The fundamental mechanisms controlling shear strength and deformability behavior of clay-fiber mixtures have still not been well established, nor the constraints that may affect their performance of shearing under different drainage conditions. This study aims to understand the behavior of a clay soil mixed with polypropylene fibers using results from drained and undrained triaxial compression tests, and to provide necessary calibration data for a shear strength prediction model. In drained tests, shear strength increased with fiber inclusion for a given mean effective stress, represented by an increase in apparent cohesion. In the undrained tests, the shear strength was not affected by pore water pressure generation. Results from the drained and undrained tests indicate that the fiber content had a greater influence on the apparent cohesion than on the friction angle. Drainage affected the improvement in the peak shear strength of fiber-reinforced soils, with superior improvement in the drained tests. As the percent improvement in shear strength decreased with increasing effective confining stresses for both tests, the difference in behavior in the drained and undrained tests was attributed to the strain at failure, with failure occurring at large strains in the drained tests but at smaller strains in the undrained tests. This article aims to report the experiences and studies carried out in the first stage of the extension project Childhood, Interculturality, and Ethnomathematics in Early Childhood Education: the care of indigenous children promoted by the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), Campus of Naviraí, in the year 2018. It was chosen as a theoretical framework: documents and scientific productions on the themes of interculturality in education and elements of the history and culture of the Kaiowá and Guarani ethnic groups living in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS). The production of data starts from information obtained through responses to a questionnaire, with open and closed questions, developed with a group of teachers from the municipal network of local education, who were the target audience of the extension action. The information initially collected by this instrument allowed making both quantitative and qualitative inferences. In the context of the course meetings, it was possible to evidence data for understanding, specifically, on behavioral and relational processes between teachers and indigenous children enrolled in Early Childhood Education. The information obtained and presented in this article details impressions of a multicultural environment, reflective exercise on the issue of caring for indigenous children in the urban educational context. Given the data and results of the experience on the agenda, we concluded in defense of the need for investments in in-depth studies on the issue and raised the importance of considering hybrid culture as a way to avoid acculturation of indigenous childhood. Although forest loss is a major driver of the current biodiversity crisis, the effect of fragmentation remains debated, particularly for forest-specialist species. Objectives: We evaluated the univariate and combined effect of forest loss (percent of forest cover) and fragmentation (forest patch density) on populations of a forest-specialist primate, the black-fronted titi monkey (Callicebus nigrifrons), in the landscapes from a transitional zone between Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes. Methods: We surveyed titi monkey density in 14 landscapes. Using a multiscale and multimodel inference approach, we tested the relative effect of each landscape variable assessed at their respective scales of effect on titi monkey density. Results: Titi monkey density ranged from 0 to 12 groups/km2 and was best predicted by the combined effect of forest cover and patch density. Density increased in forest patches embedded in more deforested and fragmented landscapes. Interestingly, the effect of forest patch density was consistently positive along the entire evaluated forest cover gradient (9–42%). Conclusions: Our findings support that fragmentation per se can have positive effects on biodiversity, in this case, by increasing the likelihood that more individuals can be ‘rescued’ from deforestation and crowded in the remaining forest patches. Although the long-term consequences of living crowded in forest patches are unknown, a conservative approach for preserving this (and potentially other) forest-specialist species could be to promote forest restoration projects focused on increasing the number and/or size of forest patches in the landscape (i.e., reverse fragmentation). Native origin timber remains a complex issue and requires efforts to improve clarity. Native timber comprises a significant part of the timber housing sector in Brazil. Exotic timber is used widely throughout the domestic construction industry. In terms of timber housing in Brazil, eucalypt wood is less used than pine. SUMMARY Timber consumption is a complex discussion for the industry, in part because the issue has been marked by doubts about lineage and origin. This paper aimed to identify challenges related to species, origins and wood use in the Brazilian construction sector. Searches on corporate websites and face-to-face interviews were used to identify involvement by species and origin in the domestic production of timber for housing. Relevant results were obtained for both methods since their margins of error were low. Forty exotic and nine native species were revealed to contribute significantly to the construction sector. ‘Grapia' and ‘Angelim pedra' native woods and eight eucalypt and pine species were shown to be the most popular through both methodologies. Pine timber was found to be in greater demand than that of Eucalyptus species. Despite some lack of clarity relating to the origin of certain species, the sector's status was better than expected. However, it still requires assertive actions to increase the use of legalized wood in order to favour product certification and integration into foreign markets. . No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-08-31 The rapid urban expansion of cities has modified the natural landscape in Brazil changing the environmental and climatic conditions, from this the studies involving urban planning, environment and geotechnologies present solutions to current problems of cities, such as floods, heat islands and lack of green spaces. The objective of this work is to analyze the relationship between vegetation cover and surface temperature in the city of São Carlos, São Paulo, Brazil. Images from the Landsat-8 satellite were used, by means of digital image processing and remote sensing techniques. For the surface temperature band 10 (thermal) was used and for the vegetation cover bands 4 (red) and 5 (near infrared) of the Landsat 8 satellite, by means of the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) vegetation index. The work was carried out in the QGIS software. As analysis were determined the correlation coefficients and determination between the indices from control points with both data in the urban perimeter. As a result, it was possible to observe a negative correlation between vegetation cover and surface temperature. Areas with the highest temperatures (37.4°C) were associated with the absence of vegetation, the high degree of construction densification and soil sealing. Studies like this one reinforce the importance of vegetation cover in urban areas for thermal control and well-being of resident populations in the face of the growing effect of climate change affecting urban centers. Proposals and mitigation actions should be part of a set of public policies applied to cities, thinking systemically and dynamically. The present study aimed to assess the spray deposition into soybean canopy, stink bug control, and soybean yield as affected by insecticide application rate. Field experiments were carried out evaluating the variations of 60, 110, 160 and 210 L ha−1 application rates in two seasons. The spray deposition on soybean leaves taken from the bottom, middle and top canopy sections was quantified using Brilliant Blue marker dye. The efficacy of the application rate treatments applied with insecticides was determined based on stink bug control and soybean yield. In general, the amount of spray deposit on soybean sections and plant canopy had little difference regardless of the spray volume. The control of stink bugs showed only a significant difference between the treatments that received insecticide when compared to the control treatment, regardless of the application rate. In two soybean seasons, yield was reduced by stink bug infestation in the control treatment. The rapid increase in sugarcane cultivation and the progressive conversion of pre-harvest burning (BH) to green harvest (GH) have brought into debate the contribution of agricultural sector to the greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. This study focused on the estimated GHG emission from sugarcane cultivation during years in which sugarcane areas in southern Brazil expanded and passed throughout an important transition, from 2006 to 2012, when harvest adopted was changed from burned to not-burned based. Sugarcane management and harvest were mapped through visual interpretation of Landsat-type satellite images, and the areas under sugarcane cultivation were distinguished according to each agricultural phase and harvest regime (i.e., manual harvest with burning vs. green mechanized harvest). Based on a broad data review and applying the IPCC (2006) methodologies, the results were expressed in terms of kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (kg CO2eq ha−1). Avoiding burn prior to harvest, even during expansion of sugarcane areas, promoted a mean reduction of GHG emission from 901 to 686 kg CO2eq ha−1 relative to harvest phase (24% lower) and an increase from 1418.3 to 1507.9 kg CO2eq ha−1 related to the ratoon maintenance phase (6% higher). Analyzing the total GHG emission per unit of cultivated sugarcane area (hectare), it was observed a decrease from 2275 to 2034 kg CO2eq ha−1 (11% reduction). The gradual transition of pre-harvest burning on that period has contributed to the reduction of GHG emission associated with sugarcane production being an important step towards GHG mitigation while still providing more sustainable sugar and ethanol production in southern Brazil. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-09-01 This study aimed to evaluate the effect of grinding on some surface properties of two lithium disilicate-based glass-ceramics, one experimental new product denominated LaMaV Press (UFSCar-Brazil) and another commercial known as IPS e-max Press (Ivoclar), in the context of simulated clinical adjustment. Discs (N = 24, 12 mm in diameter) were separated into four groups: LaMaV Press with no grinding (E), LaMaV Press after grinding (EG), IPS e-max Press with no grinding (C), and IPS e-max Press after grinding (CG). A 0.1-mm deep grinding was carried out on EG and CG samples (final thickness of 1.4 mm) using a diamond stone in a low-speed device. The E and C samples had the same thickness. The effect of grinding on the sample surfaces was evaluated by X-ray diffraction, mechanical and optical profilometry, scanning electron microscopy, goniometry, and Vickers hardness. The mean roughness (Ra) was evaluated by Kruskal–Wallis and Student–Newman–Keuls statistics. The surface energy (SE) by the sessile drop method and Vickers hardness (VH) were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The Ra medians were E = 1.69 µm, EG = 1.57 µm, C = 1.45 µm, and CG = 1.13 µm with p = 0.0284. The SE and VH were similar for all materials and treatments. Grinding smoothed the surfaces and did not significantly alter the hardness and surface energy of both LaMaV Press and IPS e-max Press. These glass-ceramics presented similar surface properties, and clinical adjustments can be implemented without loss of performance of both materials. In this sense, the incorporation of fillers or reinforcements coming preferably from other substances of natural origin, can be an alternative to try to improve some mechanical and thermal properties of starch polymers. Thus, Kraft Lignin (KL), can be an excellent filler to be incorporated, since it presents mechanical and thermal properties and reduces the cost and weight of the final compounds. TPS films were prepared by casting using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as solvent and additives with 2, 4 and 8% KL. Characterization of TPS films and compositions with KL were carried out by Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Dynamic Thermomechanical Analysis (DMTA), tensile testing and contact angle. Samples were also analyzed for biodegradation and for the ability to remove contaminants in water, Metil Orange (MO), by Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV–Vis). The FT-IR spectra of the films showed bands typical of functional groups derived from starch and lignin, with the intensity of these bands varying among the samples studied. Micrographs revealed slightly different morphologies among the films, but all showed irregular shapes with structures that appeared as plots. Increasing the percentage of KL led to an increase in contact angle values, showing a more hydrophobic behavior. In the TGA analysis, it was possible to observe a change in the main degradation event of the films for lower temperatures, especially of TPS – 4 and 8% KL compared to the TPS film. Films with KL had the peak of maximum degradation shifted to temperatures below the starch film, where the decrease in intensity of the main peak in the TPS - 4% KL and TPS - 8% KL samples demonstrates that there was less mass loss in the event. There was also in the percentage of residue as the addition of KL was increased The DMTA analyses allowed for the conclusion that presence of KL in TPS film allowed for an increase in its energy storage property, and that the loss modulus followed a decreasing order of storage modulus values to TPS - 8% KL from TPS. For the tensile strength property only TPS - 4% KL has significant improvement, and the elongation at break showed an increase for TPS – 4 and 8% KL compared to TPS. Samples showed a continuous and progressive biodegradation process, being completely biodegraded within 10 days. The monitoring of the ability to remove contaminants from water by UV–Vis, also showed promising results of compounds for this application. The best results were obtained, in most tests, for the TPS- 4% KL films. Among a lot of other neurochemical pathways, the serotonin (5-HT) role, specifically the 5-HT3 receptor (5-HT3R), in the amygdala has never been evaluated in this model. Here we studied the effects of the amygdala’s chemical inhibition, its neuronal activation pattern, and 5-HT, 5-HIAA, and 5-HT turnover within the amygdala. Furthermore, the systemic and intra-amygdala 5-HT3R activation and blockade in mice that cohabited with a conspecific subjected to chronic constriction injury were investigated. Male Swiss mice were housed in partners for 28 days. The dyads were divided into two groups on the 14th day: cagemate nerve constriction (CNC) and cagemate sham (CS). On the 24th day, cagemates underwent a stereotaxic surgery (when necessary) and, on the 28th day, they were evaluated on the writhing test. The amygdala inactivation promotes pain-hypersensitivity behaviors in groups and dyads; cohabitation with a partner with chronic pain did not change FosB-labeled cells in the amygdala’s nucleus and increases 5-HT turnover in cagemates. Systemic and intra-amygdala 5-HT3R activation attenuated and enhanced the number of writhes, respectively. In contrast, 5-HT3R blockade reduced hypersensitivity pain response. Results suggest the involvement of amygdala serotonergic signaling via 5-HT3R in empathy-like behavior. METHODS: A total of 36 postmenopausal participants (mean age 57 years) danced three times per week for 90 minutes each day and were evaluated before and after 16 weeks. The parameters evaluated were body composition (body fat and lean mass), blood lipids, functional fitness, self-image, and self-esteem. RESULTS: Statistical analysis was done using Student t test for paired samples and the Wilcoxon test with P values less than 0.05 considered statistically significant. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-10-01 Objective: To compare risk of death due to COVID-19 among pregnant, postpartum, and non-pregnant women of reproductive age in Brazil, using the severe acute respiratory syndrome surveillance system (SARS-SS). Methods: A secondary analysis was performed of the Brazilian official SARS-SS, with data retrieved up to August 17, 2020. Cases were stratified by pregnancy status, risk factors or co-morbidities, and outcome (death or recovery). Multiple logistic regression was employed to examine associations between independent variables and risk of death. Results: A total of 24 805 cases were included, with 3129 deaths (12.6%), including 271 maternal deaths. Postpartum was associated with increased risk of death, admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), and mechanical ventilation. Co-morbidities with higher impact on case fatality rate among non-obstetric cases were cancer and neurological and kidney diseases. Among pregnant women, cancer, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and rheumatology diseases were associated with risk of death. In the postpartum subgroup, age over 35 years and diabetes mellitus were independently associated with higher chance of death. Conclusion: Postpartum was associated with worse outcomes among the obstetric population, despite lower risk of dying without accessing ICU care. Non-pregnant women with cancer, neurological diseases, and kidney diseases have a higher risk of death due to COVID-19.
