This paper aimed to define computer data backup policies of the Incremental backup by using Unison synchronization as a file-synchronization tool and load balancing file synchronization management (LFSM) for traffic management. The policy is to be able to perform a full backup only at first as a one time from obtaining a copy of the data. The easiest aspect of value to assess is replacement for restoring the data from changes only and processing the correct information. As a result, the new synchronization technique was able to improve the performance of data backup and computer security system.

Work from home (or remote working) has become the new normal ever since the pandemic hit the world. This new normal, which represents the unison of social and technical assemblage, has been used as a backdrop in the study to explore the nature of employee job behaviour and its impact on job satisfaction. The sample consisted of employees who are working remotely from their homes in the information technology sector. The Cronbach alpha of the questionnaire was found to be .862. The results indicate that dimensions of employee job behaviour like enhanced work association, need for interaction for information exchange, and increased work responsibility were found to be highly correlated in the backdrop of work from home. Further, employee job behaviour was found to be significantly impacting job satisfaction of employees in the backdrop of work from home. Copyright © 2022, IGI Global.

RT-PCR is considered to be the standard gold diagnostic test for detecting COVID-19 causing SARS-CoV-2. Recent reports and recent pieces of evidence from scientific literature, however, tell a different story. There have been speculations of SARS-CoV-2 escaping the RT-PCR because of the series of mutations it has gone through. It is possible that host-dependent RNA editing and high person-to-person transmission have equipped the virus with mutations enabling it to spread faster and even evade the RT-PCR. Added to this is burnout among healthcare workers and technicians handling the RT-PCR machines and sampling. All of these factors may be working in unison to result in the deluge of false-negative cases India is facing during the second COVID-19 wave. The mutant strains are spreading to other parts, posing challenges to the whole world. These circumstances warrant supplementary diagnostic tests such as serological and radiological findings to deal with cases of high clinical suspicion. Even one misdiagnosed COVID-19 patient poses a risk to hundreds of others in the vicinity. Healthcare workers' burnout also has to be dealt with. Erroneous staff should be re-trained.

An array of 22 dancers stride cheerfully in unison across the proscenium stage toward a jam-packed audience, often as richly diverse as the dancers themselves. Audience members take to their feet, singing, clapping, dancing in the aisle, an experience--that by choreographer's intention--recalls the celebratory abandon of a Black church revival. The magnetism of Ailey's Revelations has captivated audiences worldwide for over six decades. Through extensive domestic and international touring by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Revelations has appeared on six continents since its premiere. Revelations (1960) is the most performed and most viewed choreographic work of the twentieth century. During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, a full-length recording of Revelations streamed on YouTube for over a year, providing hundreds of thousands of viewers free access to the piece from their computer screens.

This dissertation will examine four works for multiple cellos prepared over the course of my doctoral studies. The works are: Tashi Wada Duets: September 2006, March 2007, April 2007, February 2008 (2006-08), La Monte Young The Melodic Version of the The Second Dream of the High-Tension Line Stepdown Transformer from The Four Dreams of China (1984), Alvin Lucier One Arm Bandits (2016), and Anthea Caddy and Judith Hamann Untitled (2015-18).An explication and discussion of four key characteristics - the dialectic of material and action, the works’ unfolding in time, multiplication of bodies, and unison - will guide and illustrate how these works become cast as pieces which are realization specific, that is, works that only reveal their form in performance, informed by dialectical material, present moment responsiveness, and secondary material generated through the relationships between each characteristic. This paper will suggest that these key properties are crucial in repositioning the pieces in a particular space within the composition and performance paradigm.

This essay uses the global impact of the Coronavirus as a heuristic semiotic for exploring the future of the church. Unlike the pandemic of 1918, which left few dents on the world’s economic, social, and cultural systems, almost all the nations of the world have passed laws and implemented procedures that are only comparable to world wars in their impact on entire populations. Nations are acting in unison, but not in unity. This post-COVID, post-Corona world is the ‘time that is given’ to the church. But it will not be a post-pandemic world. We may become COVID-proof, but we will never be pandemic-proof. There is no pre-COVID reset. There is only risk assessment from natural extinction risks to existential dangers of our own creation that are catching up to us (climate change, GRAIN [genetic engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence {AI}, info-tech, nanotechnology]). Disruption is the new status that is never quo; stability is the new abnormality; global cataclysm is the ever-present peril. The only way to prepare for a future of constant ‘the end of the world as we know it?’ moments is by developing a high Contextual Quotient (CQ), and deepening our Contextual Intelligence (CI) so we can choose ‘the next right thing’ in a world of volcanic volatility. Contribution: This essay frames the semiotics of a missional ecclesiology in the COVIDian wake from the hermeneutics of blessings not curses. What virtues might we expect to come out of a virus that is fast-forwarding the future, virtues that will shape the contours of Christianity. What if the pandemic is a shock treatment that is putting the world, and the church, back in a new and better equilibrium? What if there are goldmines on the other side of the landmines and minefields?

The acknowledgement and attention to the global pandemics has caused shifts in every field beyond imagination. As educators witnessing the impacts of the shifts, heightened exposure of equity in education continues to be highlighted and the urgency for engagements established in solidarity. In this article, I emphasize how institutionalized practices can provide a resurgence of engagement for scholars seeking to break with cultured neoliberal education that is progressively overshadowed by personal objectives and external advantages. Seemingly, while education is being contextualized as a benefit for the individual instead of being valued as part of a larger network of thought, I encourage scholars to recast solidarity. As educational practices continue to evolve, the collective desire to improve methods of teaching, learning and leading hubs of social change is constant. Recasting the approach of change through a solidarity lens can come in many constructive forms while being open to other ideas that may provide a different lens in working in unison for equity during the current socio-political times. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Rework can be a significant and costly problem during the construction of large-scale transport (>$500 million) projects. There is, however, limited understanding and knowledge about the underlying dynamics and causal mechanisms of rework. Both the public and private sector organisations tend to ignore the costs of rework and thus have been unable to contain and manage its risks. This article takes a look at the wicked and inter-organizational problem of rework and invites the public and private sectors to work in unison to thwart this risk. The paper makes a twofold contribution: (1) it calls on the public and private sectors to consider the likelihood of rework as a part of their risk management strategy; and (2) suggests that there is need use a smart data approach to ‘anticipate what might go’ wrong in terms of rework so as to deliver large-scale transport projects successfully.

This study examined corporate singing, specifically when members sing together in religious organizations. Consistent with the literature, we found that organizations whose members participate in corporate singing, versus merely listening to others sing, had more prosocial behavior (i. e., greater voluntarism). In addition, the study examined whether four different types of singing (chanting, unison, harmony, or a combination of types) aligned in predictable ways with the four organizational cultures associated with the Competing Values Framework (bureaucracy, market, clan, and adhocracy, respectively), and found some support for three of the hypothesized relationships. Implications are discussed.

The aim of this paper is to identify the specifics of orchestral writing in the later works of I. Stravinsky on the example of the ballet “Agon” (1953–1957). Significance of the topic. From 1953 begins the late (serial) period of I. Stravinsky’s work. Due to stylistic “modulation”, the study of orchestral writing in later works at the intersection of constant principles (multifigure, combinativity and plasticity) and innovations found out by us is relevant. Research methodology. I. Stravinsky’s late style is studied in various aspects. A topical issue is the composer’s interpretation of serial technique (Glivinsky, 1995; Rogers, 2004; Straus, 1999; Smyth, 2000). N. Kardash (2010) offers a multidisciplinary textological approach in the studying of recent opera and ballet. Renaissance dance forms are studied in “Agon” by M. Richardson (2003). Characteristics of later works are contained in the section of the monograph of M. Druskin (2009). V. Zaderatsky’s monograph (1980) is devoted to the polyphonic thinking of the composer. Historical, comparative, functional, systematic research methods are used in the work. Results. I. Stravinsky’s original orchestral writing was formed in his early works (1908–1910). They gradually formed the principles of multifigure, combinativity (Savchenko, 2019; Savchenko, 2020) and plasticity, found out by us, as universal principles of the composer’s orchestral writing. In the ballet “Agon” the composer applied a serial technique that determines the key role of polyphonic techniques of work with thematic invention, respectively, the dominance of horizontal thinking. At the same time in the creative comprehension and elaboration of techniques of serial technique the composer relies on the methods developed in his works (“formular” thematic invention, motives rotation technique, counterpoint combination of them) (Druskin, 2009, p. 226–227), motive-variant work (Savenko, 2001). Accordingly, ballet acts can be divided into two groups: with horizontal or horizontal/vertical priority in the organization of the orchestral texture. Where the priority is horizontal, we highlight the following variants of the composition of the orchestral texture: 1) monophony (unison) or splitting of unison 2) texture based on the counterpoint interaction of short lines (sometimes — sound points); 3) on the basis of contrasting polyphony; 4) on the basis of imitation polyphony. Conclusions. 1) In the orchestral writing of acts with horizontal/vertical priority, the constant principles of multifigure, combinativity and plasticity remain dominant; 2) Where the horizontal is a priority, innovative principles of organization of the orchestral texture prevail; constant principles are revealed covertly or in a modified form; 3) At the level of a ballet composition as a whole, the alternation of different types of organization of the orchestral texture is formed, in which different ideas about time and space are embodied; thoughtful timbre strategy and handling of different types of orchestral texture give rise to the original timbre-texture structure of the work.

The task constraints imposed upon a co-actor can often influence our own actions. Likewise, the observation of somebody else’s movements can involuntarily contaminate the execution of our own movements. These joint action outcomes have rarely been considered in unison. The aim of the present study was to simultaneously examine the underlying processes contributing to joint action. We had pairs of participants work together to execute sequential aiming movements between two targets—the first person’s movement was contingent upon the anticipation of the second person’s movement (leader), while the second person’s movement was contingent upon the direct observation of the first person’s movement (follower). Participants executed separate blocks of two-target aiming movements under different contexts; that is, solely on their own using one (2T1L) and two (2T2L) of their upper limbs, or with another person (2T2P). The first movement segment generally indicated a more abrupt approach (shorter time after peak velocity, greater displacement and magnitude of peak velocity), which surprisingly coincided with lower spatial variability, for the 2T2P context. Meanwhile, the second segment indicated a similar kinematic profile as the first segment for the 2T2P context. The first movement of the leader appeared to accommodate the follower for their movement, while the second movement of the follower was primed by the observation of the leader’s movement. These findings collectively advocate two distinct levels of joint action including the anticipation (top–down) and mapping (bottom–up) of other people’s actions.

The article is devoted to the analysis of scenarios as conceptual structures of a specific type that underlie the pragmatic connectivity of stimulating and reactive messages as part of a blog text in Russian and projecting unison in the current interaction. It has been proven that these scenarios are an essential parameter of the linguistic competence of representatives of virtual communities and are used by the initiator of communication and its respondents to reach agreement and find a common semantic denominator for initially conflicting points of view. The authors dwell on the fact that the implementation of scenarios in computer-mediated communication is predetermined both by the formal capabilities of the lexico-grammatical system of the Russian language (discourse markers) and by linguocultural conventions that the interlocutors adhere to at one stage or another of the joint deployment of the blog text. In this study, the architectonics of scenarios for the connectivity of stimuli and reactions in the composition of the blog text is interpreted as a consequence of the implementation of relay structures. It is emphasized that the initiator of cohesion is the respondent (including the blogger in the function of the respondent) in the course of constructing a responsive message. It is shown that the pragmatic structure of these scenarios includes a foothold in incentive communication and a bond that docks with this foothold in reactive communication.

The pragmatic coherence of stimulating and reactive messages in the Russian blog discourse is based on an open list of conceptual structures of a specific type, namely frames that project unison in the current interaction. It is proved that these frames are the essential parameter of the linguistic competence of representatives of virtual communities and are used by the initiator of communication and its respondents to reach agreement and find a common denominator for the initially conflicting points of view. Their implementation in computer-mediated communication is predetermined by both the formal capabilities of the Russian lexical and grammatical systems (discursive indicators), and the linguistic and cultural conventions that the interlocutors adhere to at one or another stage of joint deployment of the blog discourse. The initiator of connectivity is the respondent (including the blogger in the respondent function) during the construction of a responsive message. The pragmatic structure of these frames includes a foothold in the stimulating message and a staple that connects to this foothold in the reactive message. The elementary structural and semantic unit of the blog text, in which the unison in the opinions of the interlocutors is realized, is the dictative and modus unity of two directly adjacent or remote from each other stimulating and reactive messages. When designing a stimulating message, the blogger chooses dictal or modal propositions that best match his initial intention to establish feedback with a potentially wide range of like-minded respondents. Perceiving the blogger’s judgments, delving into the topic offered to them for discussion, respondents recognize the propositional content of these judgments, their dictative or modus predestination, as well as the goals pursued by the initiator of the interaction.

Fit challenges exist for performance glove users, because the methods of collecting anthropometric hand data and glove patterning have not been updated in unison. This paper will demonstrate a new method to draft a better basic performance glove pattern block from more relevant hand anthropometric data. The method may be used by product/industrial design educators, professional designers, patternmakers and manufacturers to develop better fitting and functioning gloves.

Half a century after the first piloted lunar landing, it is time to consider the program, lessons, and legacy of the lander that made it possible. This article does so from the perspective of Joseph Gavin, Jr., who led Apollo's Lunar Module (LM) Program from its unofficial origins as a controversial dream at Grumman in 1960, to its official inception by NASA in 1962, to its successful conclusion in 1972. He directed as many as 7500 employees in developing the LM and ultimately building twelve operational vehicles. All met mission requirements, and those that actually made a lunar landing worked every time. Developing the state-of-the-art machine required unprecedented innovations and maximization of reliability amid inherently unknown and untestable conditions. When congratulated on the success of each landing, Gavin typically replied that he would not be satisfied until his spacecraft and its crew got off the moon and arrived home safely. This process required three procedures in unison (firing of explosive bolts, severing by guillotine of wires and other connections between the descent and ascent stages, and firing of the ascent engine). Each function could be tested on Earth individually, but not under lunar conditions at systems level. Gavin drew lessons from his Grumman Corporation team and its subcontractors' experience that the author distills into eight principles: (1) Above all, return astronauts safely to Earth; accordingly: (2) create conditions for success, (3) attain reliability, (4) prioritize innovation over schedule over cost, (5) don't complicate things unnecessarily; (6) remove hierarchical barriers; (7) empower individuals, and (8) share information. Serving in top management subsequently returned Gavin to the naval aircraft development that remained Grumman's specialty. He applied the best practices learned from LM development, particularly improving initial construction to reduce the need for tests (per principle three). Drawing on extensive interviews with Gavin and thorough examination of his personal materials, this article explores his lessons and explains how he envisioned and applied them in practice as an aerospace project engineer leading one of history's greatest engineering achievements.

The article is devoted to coverage of the stages of forming the vocal sound in a classroom training choir, united in the phase sequence. The feature of the first phase of the vocal sound formation is the creation of the psychological setting, which leads to the very essence of singers’ activity. The second phase is characterized by a change in sound timbre similitude. Enormous pressure is required from the central nervous system to concentrate the inner mental work and make coordination. The sign of the third phase is the appearance of higher positional sound. In the fourth phase, the singing actions are more dynamically stable and coordinated. The fourth phase is characterized by broad compact timbre sound, but something too heavy by the power. A characteristic feature of the fifth phase is the automation of vocal skills, the sound gets flexibility and plasticity. The mechanism of stabilization in the formation of vocal skills that ensure the accuracy, efficiency and stability of the movements of the articulatory apparatus is analyzed. We have substantiated the method of imitation as a psychological process, transformed in the active thinking work and implemented in practice.The basic points of the head of a choir are analyzed, including: work on rounding lighting the sound, singing properly on the organized breathing support, forming a unified manner of sounding voices. It is noted, that the complex interaction of breath, soft palate and larynx ensures the correct formation of the vocal sound. It is determined, that the sound acquires a full quality characteristic only due to the smoothing of the registers. The main criteria of the set, academic voice are characterized, namely: the presence of two singing forms and the work of two resonators, which are equally involved in the formation of both low and high sounds. Walking and art have long been intertwined, much like collecting and art. As best put by artist Patrick Pound, it’s the notion of a ‘gathering of thoughts, through things’ (Pound, 2017) – a way of combatting the dispersive and entropic nature of the artefact-centric world we live in. Walking is it the ‘modality of lived experience’ (Forgione, 2005); an everyday, routine activity and yet one that as conscious beings, we know to be much more than just walking. What walking and collectingshare is a preoccupation with time, scope, and a need to find a sense of completion to – or perhaps dominion over – the overwhelming expanse of our existence. It can then be theorised that walking and collecting when done in unison, are the process and method that provide the artist with the contextual and conceptual mechanisms for the acquisition and subsequent display of these thoughts.

PurposeThe consumption of music performed in different languages represents a significant aspect of the contemporary cultural experience. This phenomenon questions how different languages mediate music consumption in specific national contexts. In this paper, the authors investigate the case of live music consumption in France.Design/methodology/approachThe authors surveyed 428 persons who saw 159 artists either performing in French or in English in 46 locations around Paris, France. The authors tested the effect of the language of the concert on three dimensions of music consumption: singing in unison, appraisal of the lyrics and dancing.FindingsMultilevel analysis revealed that English was positively associated with dancing, whereas French was positively associated with the appraisal of the lyrics. The authors found no evidence that the language of the concert was associated with differences in singing in unison.Originality/valueResults are discussed with respect to language diversity in the context of globalised popular music consumption.

After reviewing the rich fabric of Freud's conceptualization of dreams, the author concentrates on its emotional, trauma-related vertex, and compares it with the approach of Bion and his followers by exploring what is commonly known as "dream thought". She arrives at this concept by way of an initial consideration of night dreams. Then this thought "dreams" a dream by a kind of emotional breathing with an admixture of reverie, on the boundaries of the inter-subjectivity that links the psyches of the two members of the analytic couple while taking account of what could not be said, let alone thought, and as the scenario of the traumatic elements of the session. The author continues her consideration of the "spectrum of oneric" when it extends to the boundaries and depths by virtue of the analyst's resonance-based listening. She suggests a comparative approach involving to be in "at-one-ment" with the emotions and its potential for unison, with the chimera. In its aura of depersonalization, hallucination, accompanied by its pictographic realization, the chimera emerges from the meeting of the unconscious traumatic traces between the two protagonists and proclaims the path of symbolisation. Does it go further or deeper than the "at-one-ment" or unison?

The world is currently in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic which has halted the tourism sector and created an unprecedented global economic crisis. This paper will outline economics pertaining to COVID-19 lockdown, recovery and the inevitable competition that will occur between countries for tourists who will be scarcer and therefore more valuable. Countries are competing with a variety of incentives in order to lure visitors. However, persistent first waves that extend into July will put off tourists, further reducing tourism revenues and accelerate job losses and bankruptcies in affected countries. The example of Sweden's response to COVID-19 in this regard will be described. Countries that have COVID-19 relatively under control but experience second waves will also manifest negative tourism effects. Governments and public health must act in unison so as to exit lockdown as speedily and as safely as feasible, with COVID-19 rises that are as low and brief as possible in order to better compete in the tourism sector with other countries. Websites are already online comparing not only safety for travellers vis-à-vis COVID-19 but also the incentives offered by different countries in their attempts to woo tourists in this difficult market.

Despite recent successes of deep learning in many fields of natural language processing, previous studies of emotion recognition on Twitter mainly focused on the use of lexicons and simple classifiers on bag-of-words models. The central question of our study is whether we can improve their performance using deep learning. To this end, we exploit hashtags to create three large emotion-labeled data sets corresponding to different classifications of emotions. We then compare the performance of several word- and character-based recurrent and convolutional neural networks with the performance on bag-of-words and latent semantic indexing models. We also investigate the transferability of the final hidden state representations between different classifications of emotions, and whether it is possible to build a unison model for predicting all of them using a shared representation. We show that recurrent neural networks, especially character-based ones, can improve over bag-of-words and latent semantic indexing models. Although the transfer capabilities of these models are poor, the newly proposed training heuristic produces a unison model with performance comparable to that of the three single models.

In reaction to the latest trends in higher education we created a comprehensive developmental program for entering faculty at the Budapest Business School. The pillar of this program titled Welcome Aboard is the mentee-disciplinary mentorpedagogical mentor triad that works in unison for a semester. The framework was designed using the EPIC-model of innovation, the developmental model of faculty and the mentoring literature; components of the program were inspired by several faculty development programs from around the world. We describe the background and structure of Welcome Aboard first along with lessons learned, the use these to outline future plans and to put forth recommendations for Hungarian higher education.

Religion, science and government have been institutions throughout the ages that have helped us deal with fears and threats like SARS-CoV-2. However, reliance on any one of these institutions exclusively has limitations and therefore are sources of disappointments. The SARS-CoV-2 is a reminder that we can and need to blend these seemingly divergent views of science, religion and government. Each of these institutions provides ways to cope with this worldwide pandemic but they can exercise a much greater impact if they operate in unison for the common good and well-being of all.

This review article considers the potentially fruitful relationship between the history of political thought and parliamentary history through a survey of recent books on Britain and France. Traditionally, this relationship has not been intimate, as the major historians of political thought have concentrated on linguistic and philosophical contexts, alongside political economy. However, as historians of political thought turn to concepts such as political representation, constitutionalism, party politics, and parliamentarism in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it would be beneficial for parliamentary history to play a greater role. In order to place arguments in their non-intellectual contexts effectively, historians of political thought must become more careful analysts of events, institutions, and quotidian politics, as well as broader historiographical contexts, importantly the history of state formation. This review article argues that the development of parliamentarism in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries is an especially promising area for considering theory and practice in unison.

Perceived valence, tension, and movement of harmonic musical intervals (from the unison to the octave presented in a low- and high-register) and standard noises (brown, pink, white, blue, purple) were assessed in two studies that differed in the crossmodal procedure by which tension and movement were rated: proprioceptive device or visual analog scale. Valence was evaluated in both studies with the visual analog scale. In a preliminary study, the proprioceptive device was calibrated with a psychophysical procedure. Roughness of the stimuli was included as covariate. Tension was perceived higher in dissonant intervals and in intervals presented in the high register. The higher the high-pitch energy content in the standard noise, the higher the perceived tension. The visual analog scale resulted in higher tension ratings than the proprioceptive device. Perception of movement was higher in dissonant intervals, in intervals in the high register, and in standard noises than in musical intervals. High-pitch spectrum noises were associated with more sense of movement than low-pitch spectrum noises. Consonant intervals and low-register intervals were evaluated as more pleasant than dissonant and high-register intervals. High-pitch spectrum purple and blue noises were evaluated as more unpleasant than low-pitch spectrum noises.

Argumentation and modelling are core scientific practices, and studies suggest that incorporating the specific practices in the teaching of science can engage learners. This is a qualitative study of a classroom of 10–12-year-old students working collaboratively in argumentation and modelling. The aim of the study was to explore how primary school students use their models whilst arguing about a socio-scientific issue and to explore whether and how the process of arguing is linked with the modelling process. In order to explore the aforementioned, a learning environment was designed to help students participate in the epistemic practices of argumentation and modelling. Our findings indicate that the students engage in argumentation by providing rebuttals, and there is an intersection of higher-level modelling cognitive processes and higher-level argumentation epistemic aspects. We hypothesize that the use of models might have contributed to high-level argumentation. Our findings point to the idea that if we want science teaching and learning to be more productive even for younger students, we should be developing the epistemic practices of modelling and argumentation in unison as a way to promote and support both practices and as a consequence to promote both content learning and reasoning skills.
