Influenza D virus (IDV) is a newly emerged zoonotic virus increasingly reported worldwide. Cattle are considered the main reservoir of IDV, although it was first isolated from pigs. IDV infects multiple animal species and contributes to the bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC). To date, there has been no report on the presence and frequency of IDV among cattle herds in Pakistan. In this study, we collected nasal swabs from cattle and performed virological surveillance of IDV via qRT-PCR. Among 376 swab samples, IDV was detected in 9 samples (2.4%). Four dairy cattle farms were positive for IDV; two IDV-positive samples (two/nine, 22.2%) belonged to asymptomatic cattle, while seven IDV-positive samples (seven/nine, 77.8%) were from cattle showing respiratory clinical signs, including two with a recent history of abortion and mastitis. Partial sequences of the hemagglutinin–esterase-fusion gene of IDV were obtained from nine qRT-PCR-positive samples. Notably, all IDV strains in this study clustered within the D/OK lineages in phylogenetic analysis. A 98.8–99.6% genetic identity to its European and US counterparts indicates that the IDVs are closely related. The D/OK lineage of IDV was previously unreported in Pakistan. This is the first report of IDV in Pakistan. We confirmed that IDV is circulating among cattle herds in Pakistan. This study underscores the importance of virological surveillance to monitor the ecology of IDV for better animal and public health. This research article aims to evaluate the characteristics of ecotourism destination loyalty in light of destination attachment, destination equity framed by perceived value, and tourist experience. Thus, the attributes of ecotourism destination branding in formulating tourist loyalty are examined. The study is of significant importance for developing economies having natural tourist destinations. A total of 358 questionnaires were filled through wjx, and a SmartPLS-based structural equation modeling tool was used to analyze the data obtained from eco-tourists. The software is essential for complex structural models, including multiple indicators, and relationships. The empirical results exhibit that perceived value and tourist experience significantly contribute to destination loyalty and equity, eventually influencing tourist destination loyalty. Moreover, destination memory moderates the relationship between destination attachment, destination equity, and destination loyalty. Further, destination attachment and destination equity mediate the relationship between the perceived value, experience, and destination loyalty. Additionally, the study extends the tourist consumption theory to the ecotourism literature. Besides the theoretical contribution, the study makes a practical contribution to practitioners. For instance, perceived value is a prime contributor to tourist destination loyalty. In perceived value, the most important factor is good value for money. Such practical contribution will provide a pathway to the strategic formation of business.

Feline parvovirus (FPV) or feline panleukopenia virus is a highly contagious, lifethreatening infectious virus in cats. Although FPV vaccination is routinely practiced in China, clinical diseases continue to occur. The investigation of genotypes and viral evolution can contribute to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of FPV. Therefore, this study aimed to provide an up-todate understanding of the epidemiological, genotypic, and phylogenetic characteristics of FPV. In total, 152 rectal swabs were collected from diseased cats. All swab samples were tested for FPV using molecular methods. Amplification of the complete viral protein 2 (VP2) gene was performed for further analysis and to infer the genotypic and evolutionary characteristics of FPV. Of the 152 samples, FPV DNA was detected in 17 (17/152, 11.18%). Cats with FPV showed variable clinical signs such as dehydration, anorexia, fever, vomiting, and blood-stained diarrhea. Furthermore, VP2 sequences were identified in 17 PCR-positive cats, confirming the presence of FPV. Phylogenetic and nucleotide pairwise identity analyses revealed high genetic similarity among FPV sequences (99.6-100%) and clustered them into the FPV-G1 group. Amino acid analysis indicated a novel mutation (Ala91Ser) in all VP2 gene sequences amplified in this study. Our study provides baseline epidemiological data for the better prevention of FPV with respect to vaccination strategies. Genotypic and phylogenetic analyses confirm that FPV-G1 was the predominant FPV group in infected cats in Kunshan. Therefore, a rigorous countrywide investigation of the genotypic and evolutionary characteristics of FPV is warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fowl adenovirus can cause important diseases in chickens such as inclusion body hepatitis, hepatitis hydropericardium syndrome, and gizzard erosion and ulceration. Inclusion body hepatitis has been regularly reported from many countries. This is the first case report from Turkey, describing an outbreak of inclusion body hepatitis in broiler farms due to fowl adenovirus-8b (FAdV-8b).

Dengue is one of the major emerging viral diseases in the world, with dramatic increases in reported cases in the last few decades and annual worldwide occurrence of approximately 390 million infections. It is a highly important mosquito-vectored disease and is a problem in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. The major aim of this study was to clone and express the dengue NS3 gene, in service to its therapeutic importance for the development of stable cell lines.

Introduction: Despite the advancements in the field, there is a lack of data when it comes to co-infections in poultry. Therefore, this study was designed to address this issue. Material and Methods: Broiler birds were experimentally infected with E. coli (O78) and low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) strain, alone or in combination. The experimental groups were negative control. Results: The infected birds showed most severe clinical signs in E. coli+LPAI group along with a significant decrease in weight and enhanced macroscopic and microscopic pathological lesions. The survival rate was 60%, 84%, and 100% in birds inoculated with E. coli+LPAI, E. coli, and LPAI virus alone, respectively. The results showed that experimental co-infection with E. coli and H9N2 strain of LPAI virus increased the severity of clinical signs, mortality rate, and gross lesions. The HI titre against LPAI virus infection in the co-infected group was significantly higher than the HI titre of LPAI group, which may indicate that E. coli may promote propagation of H9N2 LPAI virus by alteration of immune response. Conclusion: The present study revealed that co-infection with E. coli and H9N2 LPAI virus caused more serious synergistic pathogenic effects and indicates the role of both pathogens as complicating factors in poultry infections.

A study was conducted in Pakistan to monitor the prevalence of avian influenza virus (H5N1) among dairy cattle and farm workers. Samples were collected from six commercial dairy cattle farms in Punjab province, including nasal washes and nasal swabs from farm workers and dairy cattle, as well as milk samples. The study found no evidence of H5N1 infection in any of the samples collected. The authors suggest that these findings may be due to strict biosecurity measures at the farms and recommend further studies with larger sample sizes and broader geographical areas.
