Lif takviyeli plastik malzemeler ürün hafifletme çalışmalarında kullanılan kompozit malzemelerdendir. Anizotropik yapıda olan bu malzemelerin enjeksiyon prosesinde, akışa bağlı olarak lifler farklı yönlerde dağılabilmektedir. Bu malzemelerden imal edilen ürünlerin sonlu elemanlar modellemelerinde lif yönlerinin proses ortamından transfer edilerek tanımlanması analizin doğruluğunu artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, enjeksiyon kalıplama ile üretilen kısa lif takviyeli plastikten elde edilen araç pedalının sonlu elemanlar modeli oluşturularak yapısal analizi, lif oryantasyon verileri de modellemeye dahil edilerek gerçekleştirildi. Lif oryantasyon verileri, enjeksiyon simülasyonu sonucunda elde edildi ve anizotropinin de dahil edildiği çok ölçekli malzeme modelinde kullanıldı. %30 cam lif katkılı poliamid malzeme kullanılarak üretilen pedal sonuçları, takviyesiz plastik malzeme ve çelik malzeme kullanılarak üretilen pedal verileri ile karşılaştırıldı. Çelik pedala kıyasla takviyeli plastik malzemeden elde edilen pedalın yer değiştirme sonuçlarında %2.5 oranında artış, gerilme değerlerinde ise %7 oranında artış görülür. Takviyeli plastiğin 294 MPa olan akma gerilmesi referans alındığında bu artışın kısıt değerlerin altında kaldığı sonucuna varılır. Ayrıca çelik malzemeye kıyasla %20 oranında daha hafif pedal elde edilir. Fiber reinforced plastic materials are composite materials used in product lightening studies. In the injection process of these anisotropic materials, the fibers may disperse in different directions depending on the flow. In the finite element modeling of products manufactured from these materials, the identification of fiber directions by transferring them from the process environment increases the accuracy of the analysis. In this study, a finite element model of the vehicle pedal obtained from short fiber reinforced plastic produced by injection molding and structural analysis was carried out by including fiber orientation data were created. Fiber orientation data were obtained as a result of injection simulation used in the multi-scale material model including anisotropy. Pedal results produced using 30% glass fiber reinforced polyamide material were compared with pedal data produced using non-reinforced plastic material and steel material. Compared to the steel pedal, the displacement results of the pedal made of reinforced plastic material increase by 2.5% and the stress values increase by 7%. When the yield stress of reinforced plastic, which is 294 MPa, is taken as reference, it is concluded that this increase is below the constraint values. In addition, 20% lighter pedal is obtained compared to steel material.

This paper focuses on creating an optimum design and development of thermo-plunger parts for commercial vehicles in order to save material, reduce mass and make more sustainable automobiles. In this paper, natural frequency analysis, topology, and topography optimization methods have been used to create a new design for the thermo-plunger part. Thermo-plunger means an electric heater that is used for heating the inside of automobiles effectively and quickly and providing customer thermal comfort. It is positioned in the vehicle body, and its support parts have been developed by structural optimization techniques because there is not enough space in the engine compartment for automatic transmission commercial vehicles. The aim of this study is to make a lightweight and reinforced thermo-plunger support part design. Initially, a draft design was created in 3D model software. After that, topology and topography optimizations were applied on this draft design. At the end of studies, a final optimum support design has been obtained. The final design is 41.1% lighter than the initial design. At the same time, above 50 Hz natural frequency value has been obtained on the final design to avoid resonance problems. Daha sonra bu taslak tasarım üzerinde topoloji ve topografya optimizasyonları uygulanmıştır. Çalışmalar sonunda nihai bir optimum destek parça tasarımı elde edilmiştir. Nihai tasarım, ilk tasarıma göre %41.1 daha hafiftir. Aynı zamanda, rezonans sorununu önlemek için nihai tasarımda 50 Hz'in üzerinde doğal frekans değeri elde edilmiştir.

İnsanlar gün içerisindeki faaliyetlerinin büyük bölümünü kapalı alanlarda geçirir. Bu nedenle insanlar için kapalı mahallerde iyi bir havalandırma ve iklimlendirme sistemi tasarlamak son derece kritiktir. İyi bir havalandırma, insanlarda hem vücut sağlığı hem de çalışma verimleri adına önemli bir kıstastır. Sıcaklık maruziyeti, vücudun fizyolojik ve psikolojik dengesini, çalışma verimini önemli ölçüde etkileyen ve çalışma ortamında sıkça karşılaşılan problemlerdendir. Isıl konfor ise, kişinin bulunduğu ortamın sıcaklığı ile uyumun sağlanması ve memnuniyetsizliğin bertaraf edilmesi anlamına gelmektedir. Termal konfor şartlarının tam olarak sağlanamadığı ortamlarda çalışmak zorunda kalan çalışanların verimlerinin düştüğü, güvenli çalışma durumunun zayıfladığı ve buna bağlı olarak iş kazasına maruz kalma sıklıklarının arttığı gözlemlenmiştir. Bu yüzden ısıl işlemin zorunlu olduğu, sıcaklık maruziyetinin kaynağında yok edilemediği durumlarda çalışan kişilerin termal konfor şartlarının iyileştirilmeleri öncelikle çalışanların sağlığına sonrasında ise üretim verimine olumlu katkılar sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmada, ısıl konforu belirleyen parametreler üzerine incelemeler yapılmış olup, örnek mahal olan sıcak şekillendirme prosesi kullanılarak sac şekillendirme yapan hatta çalışan işçilerin ısıl konfor için çalışma koşulları gözlenmiştir. Thermal comfort means compliance with the temperature of the person's environment and eliminating dissatisfaction. It was observed that the efficiency of the employees who had to work in the environments where the thermal comfort conditions could not be fully decreased, the safety status of the workers had weakened and the frequency of exposure to work accidents increased. Therefore, if the thermal treatment is compulsory and the temperature exposure cannot be eliminated at the source, the improvement of the thermal comfort conditions of the employees will firstly contribute to the health of the employees and then to the production efficiency. In this study, the parameters determining thermal comfort were investigated and the working conditions of the workers who worked on the sheet metal forming even by the hot forming process were observed. Atmosferik basınçlı plazma, toz veya organik maddeden temizleme gibi yüzey özelliklerini iyileştirmek veya boyama ve kaplama için iyi yapışma özellikleri elde etmek için yaygın olarak kullanılanbir yöntemdir. Bu sonuçtan hareketle, tabakalar arası bağlanma performansının plazma işlemi ile de güçlendirileceği hipotezi ile her bir tabakada plazma ile muamele edilmiş PLA ile FDM ile üretilen numunelerin mukavemetini araştırmak için daha ileri çalışmalar yapılacaktır., Atmospheric Pressure Plasma is a commonly used method to improve surface properties such as cleaning from soil or organic substance or to achieve good adhesion properties for painting and coating. The main objective of this study is to determine the optimum parameter levels for plasma treatment application to provide higher surface energy and therefore good adhesion properties of the polylactic acid (PLA). Since the surface energy is directly related to surface contact angle, experimental study is based on minimizing the water contact angle. The result shows remarkable improvement in contact angle about 45% with a sample treated with optimum parameter levels. The wettability of PLA has been improved with the application of an atmospheric plasma surface treatment. Starting from this result, with the hypothesis that interlayer bonding performance will be strengthened with plasma treatment too, further studies will be to investigate strength of the FDM manufactured samples with plasma treated PLA at each layer.

It has a wide application areas: aviation, space, automotive, defense industry, medicine, etc. The production method is based on the melting of the powder material using a laser beam and its penetration with the substrate. In the laser cladding process, the final quality properties of the material are directly affected by the process parameters. The importance of these parameters is revealed by the studies on the macrostructure and microstructure of the material. In this review article, the laser cladding process has researched in detail, the effects of laser power, welding speed, powder feed rate, shielding gas process parameters on the welding area have examined, and the results obtained have given by gathered together.

Otomotiv endüstrisindeki araç aydınlatma sistemlerinde kullanılan termoplastik malzemelerin birleştirilmesinde lazer iletim kaynağı üstün özellikleri nedeni ile öne çıkmaktadır. Ancak, proses parametreleri kaynak kalitesini doğrudan etkilediği için etkilerinin tespit edilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada 2,7 mm kalınlığındaki Akrilonitril bütadien stiren (ABS) ve şeffaf Polimetil metakrilat (PMMA) malzemeler LPKF Twinweld 3D 6000 lazer cihazı ile birleştirilmiştir. Lazer iletim kaynağındaki önemli parametreler olan lazer gücü, baskı kuvveti ve ilerleme hızının etkileri incelenmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada lazer gücü 20-50 W aralığında, ilerleme hızı 30-150 mm/s aralığında ve baskı kuvveti 55-85 N aralığına çalışılmıştır. Farklı parametre kombinasyonlarında birleştirilen numuneler çekme testlerine tabi tutularak mekanik dayanımları incelenmiş ve parametreler ile ilişkilendirilmiştir. Yapılan testler sonucunda en yüksek ortalama mekanik dayanım ve ortalama kopma uzaması 30 W, 70 mm/s ve 70 N parametre kombinasyonunda elde edilmiştir. Diğer tüm parametrelerin sabit tutulduğu durumda mekanik dayanım üzerindeki en etkili parametrenin lazer gücü olduğu görülmüştür., In the automotive industry, the use of thermoplastic and laser transmission source in vehicle lighting systems stands out because of the superior properties, and it is widely used in production and joining processes. However, as the process parameters directly affect the welding quality, it is very important to determine their effects. In this study, 2,7 mm thick Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and transparent Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) materials are combined with LPKF Twinweld 3D 6000 laser device. The effects of laser power, pressure force and feed rate, which are important parameters in laser transmission welding, are investigated. Lab-joint welding is performed with ABS and PMMA materials at 20-50 W laser power, 30-150 mm /s laser speed and 55-85 N pressure force. Samples combined in different parameter combinations are subjected to tensile tests, their mechanical strengths are examined and correlate with the parameters. As a result of the tests, the highest average mechanical strength and average elongation at break are obtained in the combination of 30 W, 70 mm/s and 70 N parameters. When all other parameters are kept constant, it is seen that the most effective parameter on mechanical strength is laser power.

Endüstriyel mutfak sektöründe kullanılan kuzine fırınlarda homojen pişirmeyi sağlayan en önemli kriterlerden birisi kullanılan fan ve ısı kaynağı ile ısınan havanın yönlendirmesini yapan, fan ile pişirme hacmi arasına yerleştirilen, hava yönlendirme perdesi tasarımıdır. Yapılan çalışmada radyal ve teğetsel fanların fırınlardaki hava dolaşımı performansı nümerik olarak analiz edilmiş, ardından çıkan sonuçlar deneysel veriler ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bununla birlikte bu çalışmada pişirme hacmine sıcak hava kanatlar vasıtası ile dinamik olarak yönlendirilmiş, pişirme hacmi düzenli bir şekilde taranarak homojen sıcaklık dağılımı hedeflenmiştir. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda teğetsel fanların homojen pişirme performansının radyal fana göre daha fazla olduğu, bununla birlikte dinamik kanat yapısının havayı pişirme hacmi içerisine homojen dağıttığı, nümerik analiz ve deneysel sonuçlar ile birlikte görülmüştür. One of the most important criteria that ensures homogeneous cooking in the cooker ovens used in the industrial kitchen sector is the design of the air guiding curtain, which is placed between the fan and the cooking volume, which directs the heated air with the fan and heat source used. In the study, the air circulation performance of the radial and tangential fans in the furnaces was analysed numerically, and then the results were compared with the experimental data. However, in this study, hot air is directed to the cooking volume dynamically by means of blades, and homogeneous temperature distribution is aimed by scanning the cooking volume regularly. As a result of the study, it was seen with numerical analysis and experimental results that the homogeneous cooking performance of tangential fans is higher than the radial fan, and that the dynamic blade structure distributes the air homogeneously into the cooking volume.

Bu çalışmada PV panellerinin; anlık ışınım şiddeti değerlerinin hesabıyla; aylık, mevsimlik ve yıllık optimum eğim açıları bulunmuş, çevre sıcaklığı ve rüzgar hızı gibi parametrelerin panel verimleri ve panel elektrik gücü üzerinde etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada kullanılan farklı optimum eğim açısı hesaplama yönteminde; eğik düzlem üzerine gelen anlık ışınım değerlerinin gün boyunca toplamı hesaplanmış ve bu hesaplama 365 gün için ayrı ayrı yapılmıştır. Böylece günlük, aylık, mevsimlik ve yıllık ışınım hesaplamaları yapılarak bu ışınım değerlerini maksimum yapan optimum açı değerleri elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, aylık ortalama günlük ışınım değerleri kullanılarak bulunan optimum eğim açısı değerlerinden 3-5 o daha farklı bulunmuştur. Bu hesaplamalar 6 farklı il için yapılarak optimum eğim açıları bulunmuş, PV panellerinin optimum eğim açısı ile yerleştirilmesi durumunda panel üzerine gelen anlık ışınım, anlık panel verimleri ve üretilen elektrik gücü değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Bu hesaplamalarda çevre sıcaklığı ve rüzgar hızının etkisi de dikkate alınmıştır. Thus, daily, monthly, seasonal and annual radiation calculations were made and optimum tilt angle values that maximize these radiation values were obtained. The results obtained were found to be 3-5 o different from the optimum tilt angle values obtained by using monthly average radiation values. These calculations were made for 6 different provinces and optimum tilt angles were found. In case the PV panels are placed with the optimum tilt angle, the instantaneous radiation on the panel, instantaneous panel efficiencies and generated electrical power values were calculated. In these calculations, the effect of environmental temperature and wind speed is also taken into account.

Vakum altında yapılan plazma uygulamasının etkileri uzun zamandır bilinmesine karşın nispeten daha yeni süreçler olan atmosferik basınçlı plazma (ABP) uygulamaları günümüzde birçok alanda ön plana çıkmaya başlamıştır. ABP uygulamaları hem hızlı hem de kolay-stabil şekilde malzeme yüzeylerine yapılabilmektedir. ABP ile malzemelerin yüzey enerjileri arttırılmakta ve yapıştırma, yüzey boyama, kaplama, hijyen sağlama gibi uygulamalar daha uygun ve yüksek dayanımlı olarak ortaya konulabilmektedir. Özellikle metal malzemelerin yapıştırılması işleminde daha detaylı araştırmalar yapılarak süreç parametrelerinin ortaya konulmasına ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu çalışmada da H300LAD (galvaniz kaplamalı) ve H300LA (kaplamasız) malzemeler üzerinde, yapışma dayanımının ABP uygulaması sonucundaki değişimi araştırılmıştır. Deneyler öncesinde metal yüzeylerin enerjilerinin değişimleri su damlası ve mürekkep denemeleri ile ortaya konulmuştur. Sonuçlar, ABP uygulamasının metal yapıştırma işleminde iyileşmeler sağlayabileceğini göstermektedir. In this study, the change of adhesion strength as a result of APP application on H300LAD (galvanized coated) and H300LA (non galvanized) materials was investigated. Before the experiments, the changes in the energies of the metal surfaces were demonstrated by water drop and special ink experiments. 21. yüzyılda, elektrikli araçlara olan ilgi artışı, bulunduğu yüzyılın getirdiği teknolojik ilerlemeler sayesinde elektrikli araçların yerinin kalıcı olmasını kolaylaştırmaktadır. Kalıcılığı sağlamlaşan elektrikli araçlar sayesinde hem hava kirliliği hem de gürültü kirliliği azalacaktır. İçten yanmalı motorlu araçlara göre fiziksel yönden temel farklılığı motor donanımları ve enerji kaynağı olan bu araçlarda da hareket aktarımının sağlanması ve motorun daha verimli kullanılması için bazı donanımların kullanılması gerekmektedir. Bu donanımlardan bir tanesi de şanzımanlardır. Bu çalışma içerisinde batarya elektrikli araçlarda kullanılan ve yaygınlaşması mümkün olan şanzıman tiplerinin incelenmesi ve birbirleri ile kıyaslanması amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için mevcut batarya elektrikli araçlarda sıkça kullanılan sabit aktarım oranlı şanzımana alternatif olabilecek şanzıman tipleri incelenmiştir. İncelemeler sonucunda batarya elektrikli araçlarda şanzıman kullanımının zaruri olmadığı fakat tavsiye edilen şanzıman tiplerinin kullanımında enerji tüketimi açısından ciddi tasarruf sağladığı görülmüştür. Olası şanzıman tipleri arasındaki değerlendirme iki vitesli çift kavramalı şanzıman ve yarı toroidal sürekli değişken şanzımanın sabit aktarım oranlı şanzımana kıyasla enerji tüketim yönünden diğer şanzıman tiplerine göre daha verimli oldukları görülmüştür. Gelecek yıllarda geliştirilecek şanzıman tipleri batarya elektrikli araçların enerji tüketimlerini çok daha ekonomik bir seviyeye çekeceği öngörülmektedir. In the 21st century, the increase in interest in electric vehicles facilitates the permanent place of electric vehicles thanks to the technological advances brought by the century. Both air pollution and noise pollution will be reduced thanks to electric vehicles whose permanence is strengthened. Compared to the internal combustion engine vehicles, the main physical difference is the engine equipment and energy source. In these vehicles, some equipment must be used in order to ensure the transfer of motion and to use the engine more efficiently. One of these equipment is gearboxes. In this study, it is aimed to examine and compare the gearbox types used in battery electric vehicles and which can be widespread. For this, gearbox types that can be an alternative to the fixed ratio transmission, which is frequently used in current battery electric vehicles, are examined. As a result of the examinations, it has been seen that the use of gearbox in battery electric vehicles is not essential, but the use of recommended gearbox types provides significant savings in terms of energy consumption. Evaluation among possible transmission types, it has been seen that two-speed dual- clutch transmission and semi-toroidal continuously variable transmission are more efficient in terms of energy consumption compared to the fixed transmission ratio gearbox. It is predicted that the gearbox types to be developed in the coming years will reduce the energy consumption of battery electric vehicles to a much more economical level.

In the present study, a specific hydraulic press brake based test setup (HPBTS) was designed and manufactured which was used to determine the bending forces and the punch displacements of Hardox 400 steel depending on the plate thickness, plate length and mechanical properties. The setup was equipped with an image processing system to detect the change of the bending angle during forming. Prior to bending tests, tensile tests were carried out and the identified mechanical properties were compared with the ones reported by the manufacturers. The effect of the difference between the mechanical properties on the bending parameters was investigated. Air bending technique was used for bending tests. Experiments were carried out with varying plate thicknesses, plate lengths, bending angles, forming speeds and channel openings using flat materials supplied from two different manufacturers. The effect of these parameters on bending force, displacement and springback angle was revealed. It was shown that the mechanical properties of Hardox 400 steel vary according to the manufacturer. The difference between the measured mechanical properties and the ones obtained from the manufacturers had a direct influence on the bending properties. Bu çalışmada, Hardox 400 çeliğinin levha kalınlığı, levha uzunluğu ve mekanik özelliklerine bağlı olarak bükme kuvvetlerini ve zımba yer değiştirmelerini belirlemek için kullanılan özel bir hidrolik abkant pres tabanlı test düzeneği (HPBTS) tasarlanmış ve üretilmiştir. Kurulum, şekillendirme sırasında bükme açısının değişimini algılamak için bir görüntü işleme sistemi ile donatılmıştır. Bükme testleri öncesinde çekme testleri yapılmış ve tespit edilen mekanik özellikler imalatçıların bildirdiği özelliklerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Mekanik özellikler arasındaki farkın bükme parametreleri üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bükme testleri için havada büküm tekniği kullanılmıştır. Deneyler, iki farklı üreticiden temin edilen yassı malzemeler kullanılarak farklı levha kalınlıkları, levha uzunlukları, bükme açıları, bükme hızları ve kanal açıklıkları ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu parametrelerin bükme kuvveti, yer değiştirme ve geri yaylanma açısına etkileri ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Hardox 400 çeliğinin mekanik özelliklerinin üreticiye göre farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Ölçülen mekanik özellikler ile imalatçılardan elde edilenler arasındaki farkların, bükme özellikleri üzerinde doğrudan bir etkiye sahip olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

This work presents a thermodynamic evaluation of an operating geothermal ORC power plant. The model is realized by using measured data of AFJET geothermal power plant which has 3MWe net power output capacity. Thermodynamic assessment of the system is conducted to see the energy and exergy efficiencies of each component, and the whole plant. Additionally, a parametric study is conducted to understand the effects of various operating conditions on the system performance. Different from previous studies, daily and annual net power output profile of the plant was investigated with considering ambient temperature fluctuations. Results revealed that net power output can drop as significant as 36% from winter to summer months. Also, between nighttime to daytime, the net power expectation may decrease by 5%. The exergy destruction rate of re-injection process constitutes the most significant part (38.1%) of the total exergy destruction of the plant. The conversion and exergy efficiencies of the system are calculated as 11.24% and 39.03%, respectively. Also, to enhance the performance of the plant, an internal heat recovery system is recommended. The analyses show that the implementation of an internal heat recovery system improves the energy and exergy efficiencies of the plant by 15%.

This paper introduces a new hybrid optimization algorithm (HWOANM) based on the Nelder-Mead local search algorithm (NM) and whale optimization algorithm (WOA). The aim of hybridization is to accelerate global convergence speed of the whale algorithm for solving manufacturing optimization problems. The main objective of our study on hybridization is to accelerate the global convergence rate of the whale algorithm to solve production optimization problems. This paper is the first research study of both the whale algorithm and HWOANM for the optimization of processing parameters in manufacturing processes. The HWOANM is evaluated using the well-known benchmark problems such as cantilever beam problem, welded beam problem, and three-bar truss problem. Finally, a grinding manufacturing optimization problem is solved to investigate the performance of the HWOANM. The results of the HWOANM for both the design and manufacturing problems solved in this paper are compared with other optimization algorithms presented in the literature such as the ant colony algorithm, genetic algorithm, scatter search algorithm, differential evolution algorithm, particle swarm optimization algorithm, simulated annealing algorithm, artificial bee colony algorithm, improved differential evolution algorithm, harmony search algorithm, hybrid particle swarm algorithm, teaching-learning-based optimization algorithm, cuckoo search algorithm, grasshopper optimization algorithm, salp swarm optimization algorithm, mine blast algorithm, gravitational search algorithm, ant lion optimizer, multi-verse optimizer, whale optimization algorithm, and the Harris hawks optimization algorithm. The results show that the HWOANM provides better exploration and exploitation properties, and can be considered as a promising new algorithm for optimizing both design and manufacturing optimization problems.

In this work, a natural gas assisted geothermal central heating system in northwestern Turkey utilising low enthalpy geothermal fluid and natural gas as the sources for space heating was analyzed.The study comprised energy, exergy and thermoeconomic analyses of the system under hybrid operating conditions (i.e., from 1 January 2020 to 31 March 2020). The data were collected from a basis of the facility which operates the system. The values about the heat pumps were obtained from the department of the sales company in Istanbul, Turkey and the ‘Average Values for Hybrid Case’ were determined. This work covers energetically, exergetically and thermoeconomically assessment of the system in question through its all stages. The results were found with regard to the system performance investigation. The whole system efficiencies of energy and exergy were found as 56.77% and 49.93% respectively. The exergy cost value per hour and the thermoeconomic factor were calculated as 411.242 €/h and 9.8% respectively. Bu çalışmada, alan ısıtması için kaynak olarak düşük entalpili jeotermal akışkan ve doğalgaz kullanan ve Türkiye’nin kuzeybatısında bulunan doğalgaz destekli bir jeotermal merkezi ısıtma sisteminin analizi yapılmıştır. Çalışma, sistemin hibrit çalışma şartları altında ( 1 Ocak 2020’den 31 Mart 2020’ye kadar ) enerji, ekserji ve termoekonomik analizden oluşmaktadir. Veriler sistemi kullanan işletmeden toplanmıştır. Isı pompalarına ait kapasite değerleri ise satıcı firmanın İstanbul, Türkiye’deki şubesinden elde edilmiştir ve ‘Hibrit Durum İçin Ortalama Değerler’ tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, söz konusu sistemin tüm aşamalarındaki enerjetik, ekserjetik ve termoekonomik değerlendirmesini kapsamaktadır. Sonuçlar, sistem performansının incelenmesine dayalı olarak bulunmuştur. Tüm sistemin enerji ve ekserji verimi sırasıyla %56,77 ve % 49,93 olarak bulunmuştur. Saatlik ekserji maliyeti ve termoekonomik faktör sırasıyla 411,242 €/h ve %9,8 olarak hesaplanmıştır.

Gear dynamics is one of the most critical subjects in gear design because of its remarkable effect on vibration levels, load-carrying capacity, and noise. The tip relief modification is known as a simple method to decrease dynamic loads in the industry. The primary goal of this study is to understand the influence of tip relief modification on the dynamic performance of the spurs gears. In this paper, the meshing process and gear mesh stiffness calculation method are defined. A dynamic model with two- degree-of-freedom is created to find the dynamic response of the spur gear pair. The simulations are carried out with standard and different tip modified spur gear pairs. It is observed that the tip relief modification has an excellent effect on the gear dynamic response. However, this effect is restricted until a certain amount of tip relief modification. After the optimum amount of tip relief modification, the dynamic loads are increased considerably. Thus, a computer program is developed to find the optimum amount of tip relief modification in MATLAB® for the gear designers. The program outputs are given for two different case studies. As a result of the study, the dynamic factor behaves like a “V form” according to the tip relief modification, and the dynamic force decreased approximately 25% for optimum profile modification. Dişli çark uç modifikasyonu endüstride dişli çarklar üzerindeki dinamik kuvvetleri azaltmak için kullanılan bir yöntem olarak bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; dişli uç modifikasyonunun düz dişli çarkların dinamik performansı üzerindeki etkilerinin anlaşılmasıdır. Bu kapsamda, düz dişli çarkların kavrama sürecine ve kavrama rijitliğinin hesaplamasına yönelik bir yöntem tanımlanmıştır. Dişli çark çiftinin dinamik cevabının bulunması için iki serbestlik dereceli bir dinamik model geliştirilmiştir. Dişli uç modifikasyonun dişli çarkların dinamik performansı üzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesi için nümerik simülasyonlar hem standart hem de uç modifikasyonu uygulanmış dişli çark çiftleri için gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uç modifikasyonu uygulamasının dişli çarkların dinamik cevabı üzerinde mükemmel bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ancak, belirtilen bu pozitif etkinin de belirli bir optimum değer ile sınırlı olduğu görülmüştür. Optimum dişli uç modifikasyonu miktarı aşıldıktan sonra dişli çark üzerindeki dinamik yükler ciddi bir şekilde artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, MATLAB® ortamında dişli çark tasarımcılarının optimum uç modifikasyonu miktarını hesaplamasına olanak sağlayacak bir bilgisayar programı geliştirilmiştir. Program çıktıları iki farklı vaka çalışması için değerlendirilerek sunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, dinamik faktörün profil modifikasyonu ile birlikte V formda değiştiği ve optimum modifikasyon değerinde yaklaşık olarak %25 azaldığı tespit edilmiştir.

There is a growing interest in designing lightweight and low-cost vehicles. In this research, the Harris hawks optimization algorithm (the HHO), the salp swarm algorithm (SSA), the grasshopper optimization algorithm(GOA), and the dragonfly algorithm (DA) are introduced to solve shape optimization problems in the automotive industry. This research is the first application of the HHO, the SSA, the GOA, and the DA to shape design optimization problems in the literature. In this paper, the HHO, the SSA, and the DA algorithms are used for shape optimization of a vehicle brake pedal to prove how the HHO, the SSA, the GOA, and the DA can be used for solving shape optimization problems. The results show the ability of the HHO, the SSA, the GOA, and the DA to design better optimal components.

Solving practical mechanical problems is considered as a real challenge for evaluating the efficiency of newly developed algorithms. The present article introduces a comparative study on the application of ten recent meta-heuristic approaches to optimize the design of six mechanical engineering optimization problems. The algorithms are: the artificial bee colony (ABC), particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, moth-flame optimization (MFO), ant lion optimizer (ALO), water cycle algorithm (WCA), evaporation rate WCA (ER-WCA), grey wolf optimizer (GWO), mine blast algorithm (MBA), whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and salp swarm algorithm (SSA). The performances of the algorithms are tested quantitatively and qualitatively using convergence speed, solution quality, and the robustness. The experimental results on the six mechanical problems demonstrate the efficiency and the ability of the algorithms used in this article. Gears are one of the most important power transmission elements in every area of the industry. Because of its importance, the gear design must be carefully performed. Unfortunately, due to the changing of the boundary conditions, gears are exposed to failures such as cracks, pitting, tooth missing etc. during the operation. Thus the gear diagnostic and monitoring become a very critical phenomenon for the gearboxes. A dynamic transmission error (DTE) based numerical fault detection model is proposed. Firstly, numerical finite element model is created to calculate single tooth stiffness with different crack levels. Furthermore, the model is used for the asymmetric gear profile which has a great importance nowadays for different areas. After that, the time-varying mesh stiffness is calculated by using single tooth stiffness with different crack levels for both symmetric and asymmetric types of the gears. To understand the effects of the gear cracks along the tooth thickness on dynamic transmission error of the gear system and to detect the gear crack faults for symmetric and asymmetric gear profiles, a four-degree of freedom dynamic model is created. The results show that with the increment of the crack level, the mesh stiffness of the gears is decreased.

D2, D6 and Calmax cold work tool steels were heat treated in vacuum hardening, made grinding and plasma nitrided in 75% N2 + 25% H2 atmosphere at 450 °C for 12 h at 2 mbar. Characterization of samples has been carried out by means of surface roughness, microstructure, microhardness and wearfriction. Wear-friction characteristics of samples have been investigated using a ball-on-disc tribosystem with a WC-Co ball. Plasma nitriding increased the surface roughness of samples. However, this effect was decreased with higher surface roughness of base metal. Fe4N (γ'), Fe3N (ε) and CrN phases were obtained on the surfaces of samples. Higher surface hardness was obtained in the plasma nitrided D2 and D6 steels. No significant mass loss was observed in the ball on-disc tribosystem. So, the wear of samples was characterized with the worn surfaces using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Plasma nitriding improved the wear resistance and decreased the friction coefficient of steels. Plasma nitrided D2 steel showed the highest wear resistance, whereas plasma nitrided Calmax steel exhibited the lowest wear resistance. However, plasma nitrided Calmax tool steel had relatively lower friction coefficient than the other plasma nitrided steels. In general, brittle layer fractures have determined the friction coefficient. Ancak, bu etki temel malzemenin daha yüksek yüzey pürüzlülüğü ile azalmıştır. Plazma nitrürlenmiş numunelerin yüzeylerinde Fe4N (γ'), Fe3N (ε) ve CrN fazları elde edilmiştir. Plazma nitürlenmiş D2 ve D6 çeliklerinde daha yüksek yüzey sertlikleri elde edilmiştir. Ball-on-disk sürtünme-aşınma sisteminde numunelerde önemli bir kütle kaybı meydana gelmemiştir. Bu yüzden, numunelerdeki aşınma taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ile karakterize edilmiştir. Plazma nitrürleme çeliklerin aşınma dayanımını iyileştirmesinin yanında sürtünme katsayısını da düşürmüştür. Plazma nitürlenmiş D2 çeliği en yüksek aşınma dayanımına sahip olurken, plazma nitrülenmiş Calmax çeliği ise en düşük aşınma dayanımı sergilemiştir. Ancak, plazma nitrürlenmiş Calmax çeliği diğer plazma nitrülenmiş çeliklere nazaran nispeten daha düşük sürtünme katsayısına sahip olmuştur. Genel olarak, aşınma ürünü kırılgan nitrür parçacıkları sürtünme katsayısını belirleyici rol oynamıştır.

Bu makalede üç farklı malzeme kombinasyonu için üç farklı radyal yükün uygulandığı silindirik makaralı ve sabit bilyalı rulmanların yuvarlanma yüzeylerinde oluşan minimum film kalınlıkları, temas alanları, maksimum temas basınçları ve toplam deformasyonları hesaplanmış ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Radyal yükler yarı yarıya azaltıldığında, iç ve dış temas alanlarındaki minimum film kalınlıkları, malzeme çiftlerinden bağımsız olarak, makaralı rulmanlarda yaklaşık % 9, bilyalı rulmanlarda ise % 5 oranında artmıştır. Sabit bir yük uygulanan makaralı rulmanlarda minimum film kalınlıklarının malzeme çiftinden bağımsız olarak sabit olduğu bulunmuştur. Tamamen seramikten bilyalı rulmanlarda ise hemen hemen yükten bağımsız olarak minimum film kalınlıklarının, tamamen çelik olanlardakine göre yaklaşık % 5 daha küçük olduğu bulunmuştur. Bilyalı ve makaralı rulmanlarda yuvarlanma yüzeylerindeki toplam deformasyonlar tamamen çelik olanlarda en büyük, tamamen seramik olanlarda en küçüktür. Malzeme kombinasyonundan bağımsız olarak, radyal yük yarı yarıya azaltıldığında bilyalı rulmanlarda toplam deformasyonların yaklaşık % 37, makaralı rulmanlarda ise yaklaşık % 46 azaldığı bulunmuştur. Bilyalı rulmanlarda iç temas yüzeyindeki maksimum basınçlar yaklaşık % 21, makaralı rulmanlardakiler ise yaklaşık % 29 azalmaktadır. In this article, minimum film thicknesses, contact areas, maximum contact pressures and total deformations of the rolling surfaces of cylindrical roller and deep groove ball bearings with three different radial loads are calculated and compared for three different material combinations. When radial loads are reduced by half, the minimum film thicknesses in the inner and outer contact areas are increased by approximately 9% in roller bearings and 5% in ball bearings, regardless of material pairs. In roller bearings with a constant load, the minimum film thicknesses were found to be constant independent of the material pair. In all-ceramic ball bearings, the minimum film thicknesses were found to be about 5% smaller than those of all-steel ones, almost independent of the load. In ball and roller bearings, the total deformations of the rolling surfaces are the largest in all-steel ones and the smallest in all-ceramic ones. Regardless of the combination of materials, it has been found that when the radial load is reduced by half, the total deformations in the ball bearings are reduced by about 37% and in the roller bearings by about 46%. The maximum pressures on the inner contact surface of ball bearings are reduced by approximately 21% and those of roller bearings by about 29%.

Nowadays, wind turbines are one of the main subjects of the designers due to the everincreasing interest in renewable energy sources. Due to dynamic loads that effect the gear system, cracks may observe on the gear teeth. These cracks may proceed along either the tooth or the rim. In similar cases, if the crack proceeds along with the tooth, crack classified as benign. If the crack proceeds along with the rim direction, the cracks can be classified as catastrophic cracks. In this study, the effects of crack initialization angle and backup ratio on the crack propagation path are investigated numerically for spur gears. The maximum stress location at the gear root is defined as the crack starting point. The initial cracks are opened with 0° - 45° - and 90° crack initialization angles. Also, five different backup ratios are used for crack propagation analysis. The analyses are performed in ANSYS Workbench, SMART Crack Growth module. The crack propagation paths are evaluated for fifteen analyses. As a result, if the rim thickness is high, the crack initialization angle has no effects on the crack paths. It has an influence on the crack propagation paths for the special rim thickness. Günümüzde, rüzgar türbinleri, yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına gittikçe artan ilgi nedeniyle dişli tasarımcılarının ana konularından birisi haline gelmiştir. Dişli sistemine etki eden dinamik yükler nedeniyle, dişli dişlerinde çatlaklar oluşabilir. Bu çatlaklar diş veya rim boyunca ilerleyebilir. Benzer durumlarda; çatlak diş boyunca ilerliyorsa, çatlak iyi huylu olarak sınıflandırılır. Çatlak rim boyunca ilerliyor ise; bu tip çatlaklar yıkıcı çatlaklar olarak sınıflandırılabilir. Bu çalışmada, düz dişli çarklarda çatlak başlangıç açısı ve rim oranının çatlak ilerleme yolu üzerindeki etkileri nümerik olarak incelenmiştir. Diş kökündeki maksimum gerilme yeri, çatlak başlangıç noktası olarak tanımlanmıştır. İlk çatlaklar, 0 ° - 45 ° - ve 90 ° çatlak başlangıç açıları ile açılmıştır. Ayrıca, çatlak ilerleme analizi için beş farklı rim oranı kullanılmıştır. Çatlak ilerleme analizleri ANSYS Workbench, SMART Crack Growth modülünde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çatlak ilerleme yolları on beş analiz ile değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, rim kalınlığı büyük ise, çatlak başlangıç açısının çatlak ilerleme yolları üzerinde bir etkisinin olmadığı görülmüştür. İki farklı malzemenin yapıştırılmasında eğer malzemelerden biri düşük yüzey enerjisine sahip ise yapışma problemleri görülmektedir. Kauçuk malzemenin farklı bir malzeme ile yapıştırılmasında istenilen mukavemeti elde edebilmek için yüzey enerjisini yükseltmeye ihtiyaç duyulabilmektedir. Bu makalede; atmosferik plazma işlemi yardımıyla malzeme yüzeyindeki enerji artışı sağlama çalışmaları kapsamında, farklı kauçuk malzemelerinin (NBR/HNBR/ACM/FKM) yüzeyi ile nonwoven yüzeyler arasında oluşan yapışmanın nitelik ve nicelik değişimleri incelenmiştir. Yapıştırma bağı döner mil keçelerinin çalıştığı ortam şartlarında da bağ yapısı bozulmadan korunmalıdır. Bu çalışma sonuçlarına göre, atmosferik plazma uygulaması kauçuk malzeme-nonwoven malzeme yapıştırma işlemlerinde kayda değer iyileşmeler sağlamaktadır. When bonding two different materials, if one of the materials has low surface energy, adhesion problems are observed. It may be necessary to increase the surface energy in order to obtain the desired strength when bonding the rubber material with a different material. In this research, within the scope of efforts to increase energy on the surface of the material using atmospheric plasma treatment, the quality and quantity changes of the adhesion formed between the surface of different rubber materials (NBR / HNBR / ACM / FKM) and nonwoven surfaces were examined. Adhesive bond rotary shaft seals should be protected without deteriorating bond structure even under ambient conditions. According to the results of this study, atmospheric plasma application provides significant improvements in rubber materialnonwoven material bonding processes.

Aerodynamics mechanisms on a solar panel were studied using Computational Fluid Dynamics methodology at different wind directions. The wind velocity was chosen as 10 m/s that corresponding turbulent flow. The inclination angle of the panel was fixed as 25°, while the wind directions were varied as 180°, 135°, 45°, and 0°. Governing equations were solved by utilizing a finite volume method with a realizable k-ε turbulence model and standard wall functions. The results showed that the recirculation area occurred for the straight wind directions, but it was not observed for the oblique wind directions. The highest pressure coefficients occurred at the leading edges of the solar panel and they reduced to the trailing edge for all wind directions. The maximum drag and uplift coefficient was obtained at the wind direction of 00 and 180 0 , respectively. Rüzgar hızı, türbülanslı akışa karşılık gelen 10m/ s olarak seçilmiştir. Panelin eğim açısı 25° olarak sabitlenirken, rüzgar yönleri 180°, 135°, 45° ve 0 ° olarak değiştirilmiştir. Korunum denklemleri, realizable k-ε türbülans modeli ve standart duvar fonksiyonları ile sonlu hacim yöntemi kullanılarak çözülmüştür. Sonuçlar, yeniden dolaşım bölgesinin düz rüzgar yönlerinde meydana geldiğini, ancak eğik rüzgar yönleri için gözlemlenmediğini göstermiştir. En yüksek basınç katsayıları panelin ön kenarlarında meydana gelmiş ve daha sonra tüm rüzgar yönleri için arka kenara doğru azalmıştır. 0 0 ve 1800 rüzgar yönleri, maksimum sürükleme ve kaldırma açısından sırasıyla kritik bulunmuştur.

This research work presents a comparative thermal performance assessment of the laminar flow cooling blocks produced for automotive headlight assembly using a high power Light Emitting Diode (LED) chip. A three-dimensional numerical model with conjugate heat transfer in solid and fluid domains was used. Laminar flow was considered in the present analysis. The validation of the numerical model was realized by using the measured data from the test rig. It was observed that substantial temperature variations were occurred around the LED chip owing to volumetric heat generation. The cooling board with lower height performs better thermal performance but higher pressure drop for the same mass flow rates. The cooling board with the finned cover plate performs better thermal performance but results in an increased pressure drop for the same mass flow rates. Increasing the power of the LED results in higher temperature values for the same mass flow rates. The junction temperature is highly dependent on the mass flow rates and LED power. It can be controlled by means of the mass flow rate of the coolant fluid. New Nusselt number correlations are proposed for laminar flow mini-channel liquid cooling block applications.

Elektrikli araç sayılarının hızla arttığı günümüzde yapılan bilimsel çalışmalar da, aynı oranda bir ivme kazanmıştır. Elektrikli araç teknolojisinin yaygınlaşması için en kritik alt sistemlerden biri olan batarya paketinin doğru analiz edilmesi, sürüş performansından menzile kadar kullanıcıyı doğrudan ilgilendiren önemli performans ölçütlerine etki etmektedir. Çalışma kapsamında, elektrikli aracın batarya paketinde kullanılacak lityum iyon pil hücresinin 1. dereceden elektriksel ve termal matematik modelleri MATLAB&SIMULINK programında oluşturulmuştur. Simülasyon çıktıları, pil hücresi üzerinde yapılan deşarj (boşaltma) testleri sonucunda elde edilen değerler sonucunda yaklaşık %0.4 hata ile doğrulanmıştır. Pilin termal modeli ise ANSYS programında yapılan termal analizler ve termal kamera ile yapılan ölçümlerle yaklaşık %2 hata değeri ile doğrulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda doğrulanmış pil hücresinin matematik modeli, elektrikli araç modellerine kolayca uyarlanarak teorik simülasyonların ve operasyonel koşullar altında çalışacak algoritmalara uyarlanmasına olanak sağlamaktadır. Nowadays, the number of electric vehicles has increased rapidly, and scientific studies have gained momentum at the same rate. Accurate analysis of the battery pack, which is one of the most critical subsystems for the electric vehicle technology, affects vital performance criteria that directly concern the user from driving performance to the range. Within the scope of this study, first degree electrical and thermal mathematical models of the lithium-ion battery cell to be used in the battery pack of the electric vehicle were created in MATLAB & SIMULINK program. The simulation outputs were verified with an approximately 0.4% error as a result of the discharge tests performed on the battery cell. The thermal model of the battery was confirmed by the thermal analysis performed in the ANSYS program, and the measurements performed with the thermal imager with a 2% error value. As a result, the mathematical model of the verified battery cell can be easily adapted to electric vehicle models, allowing theoretical simulations and algorithms to operate under operational conditions.

Bu çalışmada, endüstriyel seri üretimde en çok kullanılan kaynak prosesi olan sıcak plaka kaynağı ele alınmış, Lupolen 4261AG malzemeden üretilmiş plastik parçalara uygulanan sıcak plaka kaynağı araştırılmıştır. Sıcak plaka kaynağı, ısıtılmış takım plakası kullanılarak iki plastik parçanın kaynaştırılması işlemidir. İşlemde her bileşen üzerindeki bir kaynak kabartısı veya kordon, sıcak plaka ile temas ettirilir ve ısı, kaynak kabuğunun erimesine neden olur. Sonrasında parçalar birbirine bastırılır. Bu çalışmada kaynaklı parçalar arasındaki en yüksek mukavemet için en uygun sıcaklığın belirlenmesine çalışılmış, en uygun kaynak eritme kuvveti ve en uygun malzeme davranışı kopma testleri, hasar analizleri ve microtome testleri ile belirlenmiştir. Yapılan bu test sonuçlarına göre kaynak parametreleri fiziksel olarak belirlenmiş, iyileştirmeler yapılmış, gereksiz enerji giderleri engellenmiş, kaynak süreleri optimize edilmiştir. In this study, hot plate welding, which is the most widely used welding process in mass production, was emphasized and hot plate welding for Lupolen 4261AG materialwas investigated. The hot stamping source is the process of fusing two plastic pieces using the heated tool plate. A weld bulb or bead on each component is contacted with the hotplate and heat causes the welding shell to melt. The heated tool is then removed and parts are pushed together untilthey are connected to each other. In the present paper, the temperature was optimized to ensure the maximum strength ofthe welded section, the most suitable welding melting force and material behavior were obtained by shear test, damage analysis, microtone tests. According to these test results, welding parameters were determined, redundant energy costs were eliminated and welding times were optimized.

Dizel motorlarının yüksek basınçlı yakıt enjeksiyon teknolojisi, emisyon düzenlemelerinin gerçekleştirilmesinde tatmin edici teknolojilerden biri olarak kabul edilir. Bu teknoloji, yakıtın atomizasyonunu geliştirerek yanma verimini iyileştirip zararlı emisyonları ve gürültüyü azaltabilir. Bu avantajların geliştirilmesi ise ilgili parametrelerin etkilerinin tasarımcılar tarafından biliniyor olmasına bağlıdır. Bu çalışmanın amacı piezo common rail enjektörlerin en önemli parçalarından olan aktüatör modül üzerine uygulanan ön yük kuvvetindeki değişimin enjektörün voltaj ihtiyacına, püskürtme miktarına ve titreşim frekansına etkilerinin deneylerle incelenmesi ve aktüatör modülü oluşturan piezo seramiklerin voltaj altında gösterdikleri boy uzama miktarlarının araştırılmasıdır. The high-pressure fuel injection technology of diesel engines is considered to be one of the satisfactory technologies in achieving emission regulations. This technology can improve combustion efficiency and reduce harmful emissions and noise by improving the atomization of fuel. The development of these advantages depends on the fact that the effects of the relevant parameters are known to the designers. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the change in the preload force applied on the actuator module, which is one of the most important parts of piezo common rail injectors, to the voltage requirement, spray amount and vibration frequency of the injectors by experiments and to investigate the length elongation of piezo ceramics forming the actor module under voltage.

WOS:000543104900020 This paper investigates the factors affecting the optimum insulation thickness and its pay-back period, such as heating and cooling energy requirements of building, lifetime, present worth factor, costs of insulation material and installation, costs of energy sources for heating and cooling, heating and cooling system efficiencies, and solar radiation. For this purpose, by considering two cities characterizing the hot and cold climatic conditions, the optimum insulation thickness and its payback period have been calculated and a detailed parametric analysis has been carried out. To achieve practical results, the ranges of the parameters considered in the study include the values typically reported in the literature. The variations in the optimum insulation thickness and the pay-back period with all parameters are presented in graphical form. Finally, order of importance and contribution ratios of the examined parameters on the optimum insulation thickness are determined with the help of Taguchi method. It is found that heating degree-days is the most efficient parameter on the optimum insulation thickness with an impact ratio of 27.33% of the total effect while the least efficient parameter is the efficiency of heating system with an impact ratio of 3.21%.

Elektronik ekipmanların çalışma performansını olumsuz etkileyen fazla ısının atılması gelişen teknoloji, artan güç ve küçülen boyutlar dolayısıyla önemli bir teknolojik problemdir. Bu kapsamda mini kanallı sıvı soğutmalı soğutucu bloklar üzerine araştırma çalışmaları giderek artmaktadır. Soğutucu blokların yüksek ısı transferi performansına sahip olması beklenirken işletim maliyetleri açısından basınç düşümünün en az seviyede olması istenmektedir. Bu durum soğutucu bloğun tasarımında geometrik yapının istenen performans kriterlerine göre optimizasyonunu gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada 100W/cm2 ısı akısı üreten bir yonganın soğutulması için kullanılacak 20mm x 20mm taban yüzey alanına sahip mini kanallı su soğutmalı bir bloğun tasarımında yüksek ısı transferi ve düşük basınç kayıpları için üç farklı malzeme ile optimizasyon çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada Taguchi ortogonal matrisinden yararlanılarak farklı malzemeler ve farklı boyutlarda tasarlanan mini kanallı soğutucunun performansı Hesaplamalı Akışkanlar Dinamiği (HAD) kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Optimizasyon değerlendirme ölçütü olarak basınç düşümü ve tabanda oluşan maksimum sıcaklığın en düşük olması göz önünde bulundurulmuştur. Her iki ölçütün birlikte değerlendirilmesi için Çok Yanıtlı Taguchi Analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Sıcaklık ve basınç kaybı değerlerine farklı ağırlık değerleri verilerek bulunan sonuçlar karşılaştırılmış ve yorumlanmıştır. Excessive heat dissipation which adversely affects the working performance of electronic equipment is an important technological problem due to developing technology, increasing power and reducing dimensions. In this context, researches on the liquid-cooled mini-channel blocks are increasing. While it is expected that the cooling blocks is desired to have high heat transfer performance with a minimum pressure drop in terms of operating costs. This requires optimization of the geometric structure in the design of the cooling block. In this study, the design of a mini channel water cooled block to be used for the cooling of a chip, has been optimized with three different materials for high heat transfer performance and low pressure losses. The performance of the mini-channel cooling block, which is designed with different materials and different channel dimensions by utilizing the Taguchi orthogonal matrix, was investigated by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). As a criterion, the pressure loss and the maximum temperature at the base were taken into consideration. Since both criteria were taken into consideration, Multi Response Taguchi Analysis was used in the optimization. Temperature and pressure loss values were evaluated and optimized by the use of different weight values.

The optimum design of a cam mechanism is a very interesting problem in the contact mechanics today, due to the alternative industrial applications as a mechanism of precision. In this paper, a new evolutionary algorithm called modified adaptive differential evolution (MADE) is introduced for multi-objective optimization of a cam mechanism with offset translating roller follower. The optimization procedure is investigated for three objectives among them minimum congestion, maximum efficiency, and maximum strength resistance of the cam. To enhance the design quality of the mechanism in the optimization process, more geometric parameters and more design constraints are included in the problem formulation. In order to validate the developed algorithm, three engineering design problems are solved. The simulation results for the tested problems indicate the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed algorithm compared to the various existed optimization methods. Involute spur gears subject to damage on their fillet and contact areas because of local stresses. There is no significant stress except these regions. Based on this fact, different materials could be used for high stress and low stress regions provided that suitable fusion method is available. This kind of design change results in weight reduction, and it ensures to reduce CO2 emissions for vehicles. In this study, natural frequencies and root stress of bimetal spur gears were analyzed. Results were compared with full steel spur gear. The steel was used for high stress region. Aluminum and magnesium alloys were used as low stress zone. Evolvent dişli çarklar diş dibi ve temas bölgelerindeki gerilmelerden ötürü hasara maruz kalırlar. Bunun haricinde kalan bölgelerde kayda değer bir gerilme bulunmaz. Bu temel üzerine bir dişli çarkın yüksek ve düşük gerilme bölgeleri uygun bir birleştirme metodu ile farklı malzemelerden imal edilebilir. Bu tarz bir tasarım değişikliği ağırlıkta azalma sağlayarak CO2 gazı emisyonlarını düşürür. Bu çalışmada çift metalli dişli çarkların doğal frekansları ve diş dibi gerilmeleri analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar geleneksel çelik malzemeden imal edilmiş dişli çarka ait sonuçlar ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Düşük gerilme bölgesinde alüminyum ve magnezyum alaşımları kullanılmıştır.

In this study, some well-known experimental studies related to forced, natural, and mixed convections were used for validation of k-epsilon and k-omega turbulence models. For this purpose ANSYS-Fluent 16.0 is used. International Energy Agency IEA Annex20 room, a tall differentially heated rectangular cavity, and a mixed convective air flow within a square chamber with a heated bottom wall were considered for forced, natural, and mixed convection respectively. Standard, RNG and Realizable models of k-epsilon group, and Standard, SST and BSL models of k-omega group with enhanced wall treatment for near wall modeling were tested by comparing the velocity and temperature distributions with available measurement values of employed geometries. In total, the results of Standard and RNG k-epsilon models are in good agreement with experimental measurements. Although the performance of k-omega group models is well in natural convection, some results of these models do not agree well with test data in forced and mixed convection cases.

The product design process has a very important effect on product costs. It aims to develop products that are able to compete by achieving an optimum design in the product design process. This research presents the first application in the literature of the grey wolf, whale, water cycle, ant lion and sine-cosine optimization algorithms for the optimum design of vehicle components. In this study, the optimal structural model of a vehicle connecting rod was determined. In the optimization process, various design alternatives were created by using the latin hypercube method. Stress analysis was performed for each of these designs. According to the generated responses, equations for objective and constraint functions were obtained. The optimization problem was solved using the above mentioned algorithms which have been newly developed in the literature, resulting in optimum connection rod design. The results demonstrate that the grey wolf, whale, water cycle, ant lion and sine-cosine algorithms are very important options in optimizing design and manufacturing optimization problems.

In recent years, there has been a great deal of interest in lightweight vehicle design due to regulations about reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Lightweight design of vehicle components is one of the most important research topics in vehicle design. Developing the optimum structure in the early stages of design process is very important for minimizing the vehicle weight and production costs. In this paper, an automobile hinge component has been developed using PA66 GF60 glass fiber-reinforced polyamide composite materials instead of conventional steel. The automobile hinge component has been conceived using computer aided design software. Topology optimization was made under specific loadings subject to the constraints of finite element method analysis. As a result of this study, optimum dimensions of the component have been obtained and the weight of the component has been reduced via structural topology optimization techniques while satisfying displacement and stress conditions. The results show that composite materials are an important alterative in lightweight vehicle design.

Literally, hard machining describes machining of parts having hardness over 45 HRC. Besides its advantages like high metal removal rate, easiness of adapting to complex part geometries, possibility of dry cutting; this operation, which can substitute grinding in most cases, has some disadvantages. One of them is the significant increase of surface roughness due to tool wear even when the tool life limit is not exceeded. In this study, considering hard turning praxes, higher depths of cut (0.5 to 1.0 mm) were examined when dry turning AISI D2 cold work tool steel, through-hardened to 62 HRC. TiN coated mixed ceramic inserts (Al2O3 + TiCN) were employed in the operations. Relationship between surface roughness and cutting parameters (cutting speed, feed and depth of cut) was modeled and analyzed using a Box-Behnken response surface methodology (RSM) design. A linear model best described this relationship. Despite the higher depths of cuts, the surface roughness values achieved were comparable to those in grinding operations. Finally, the optimal values of cutting parameters for minimum surface roughness were predicted.

Continuously variable transmissions (CVT) have been widely used in many different areas such as automotive, robotics, manufacturing and aerospace industry. In CVT drives, a properly designed control strategy is needed to ensure the precise control of the speed ratio, and a deep knowledge of the steady-state and transient behavior of the drive is necessary to this purpose. In the framework of belt and chain CVT drives, model-based approaches developed for this purpose are mainly of two types: continuous models and multibody models. Continuous models are much less costly from a computation point of view, while multibody models are usually believed to be more accurate. The aim of this paper is twofold: first the CMM continuum model [Carbone G., Mangialardi L., Mantriota G., ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, 127, 103-113 (2005)] is compared with a multibody model of the chain-CVT variator. Secondly, the CMM model is proposed for a fast and enhanced characterization of the shifting dynamics of chain CVT. The analysis shows that, except for dynamical effects due to the intermittent contact of the chain pins with the pulleys and caused by the polygonal action of the chain, the CMM and multibody models provide very similar results. Moreover, this study shows, by exploiting the CMM model, that the overall dynamics of the CVT can be described by a relatively simple first order nonlinear differential equation, which can be very easily implemented for CVT real-time control applications. The accuracy of such a simplified approach is then tested against some preliminary shifting experiments under torque load conditions. Results show a very good agreement between theoretical predictions and experimental outcomes, thus making this simplified approach a promising tool to develop advanced real-time control of CVT transmissions for automotive applications. Emniyet kemeri sistemleri, otomotiv endüstrisinde kullanılan standart güvenlik ekipmanlarındandır. Emniyet kemeri kullanımı sayesinde araç içerisindeki yolcuların güvenlik seviyeleri arttırılmış ve ciddi yaralanmaların önüne geçilmiştir. Özellikle emniyet kemerinin hava yastığıyla birlikte kullanımı sonucunda, yolcuların kafalarının araç kokpitine çarpmasının önüne geçilerek olası travmaların en alt seviyelere indirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Ancak mevcut emniyet kemeri sistemlerinin kaza sırasında açığa çıkan enerjiyi tam olarak absorbe edemediği anlaşılmıştır. Tam olarak sönümlenemeyen bu kuvvetin araç içerisindeki yolcular üzerinde kaburga kemiği kırıkları, deri üzerindeki morarmalar gibi çeşitli yaralanmalara sebep olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, emniyet kemeri sisteminin mevcut faydalarından ödün vermeden, insan bedeni üzerinde oluşan travmayı minimize edecek bir sönümleme sistemi tasarlanmış ve bu sistem için gerekli olan analizler yapılmıştır. Bahsi geçen bu sönümleme sistemi CATIA yazılımı kullanılarak modellenmiş, gerekli olan analizler ise ABAQUS yazılımı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sönümleme görevini gerçekleştirecek olan alüminyum köpüğün farklı formları için sonlu elemanlar analizleri yapılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda kesik piramit modelinin optimum sonucu verdiği görülmüştür. Bu çalışmada, emniyet kemeri sistemleri için tasarlanmış olan yeni sönümleme sistemi sayesinde kaza anında açığa çıkan enerji absorbe edilerek, bu enerjinin yolcular üzerindeki çeşitli olumsuz etkilerinin ortadan kaldırılması hedeflenmektedir. One of the standard safety elements in the automobile industry is the seat belt system. The security level of passengers in the vehicle is increased considerably by using seat belts. Notably, the use of the seat belt in conjunction with the airbag during traffic accidents is intended to reduce the number of traumas. Also, the seat belts prevent passengers’ head from crashing into the vehicle’s dashboard. Nevertheless, it is revealed that the present seat belt systems have inferior energy absorbing performance resulting in undamped forces which causes various injuries on the human body during a crash, commonly as rib fractures and severe bruises. In this study, a novel system with aluminium foam for energy absorbing purposes is designed which is suitable to be integrated into the seat belt system. The CAD model is constituted in CATIA software, and the finite element analyses for determining the most efficient energy absorbing geometry for the aluminium foam are carried out by ABAQUS software. Among the different forms of aluminium foams, the truncated pyramid is found to be the optimum geometry to be used in the new system which will help to minimize the negative effects of an undamped force on the human body during an accident. Güneş enerjisi bakımından zengin olan ülkemizde Güneş Enerjisi Santralleri (GES) ile ilgili önemli yatırımların yapıldığı bilinmektedir. Ancak bu yatırımların fizibilitelerinin çok doğru yapıldığını söylemek oldukça zordur. GES santrallerinin projelendirilmesi, kurulması ve işletilmesi aşamalarında birçok yanlışların yapıldığı ve bunun sonucu santrallerin verimsiz çalıştığı görülmektedir. Bu santrallerin projelendirilmesinde dikkat edilmesi gereken önemli noktalar olduğu gibi, kurulum ve işletmesinde de dikkat edilmesi gereken hususlar bulunmaktadır. Projelendirme esnasında yer seçimi, panel doğrultusu, panel açısı ve gölgeleme önemli parametreler arasındadır. GES santrallerinde panel sıcaklığının, rüzgarın ve kirliliğin panel verimini önemli ölçüde etkilediği bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada; GES santrallerinin panel açısı, panel yönü, gölgeleme, sıcaklık, nem, rüzgar, kirlilik gibi parametrelerin panel verimine etkileri literatürde verilen çalışmalarla ortaya konulup, konunun tartışması yapılmıştır. Ayrıca, güneş takip sistemlerinin fotovoltaik sistemlerin verimleri üzerine etkileri tartışılmıştır. GES santrallerinin projelendirilmesi, kurulumu ve işletilmesi ile ilgili öneriler sunulmuştur. It is known that significant investments have been made in our country which is rich in solar energy.However, it is very difficult to say that the feasibility of these investments is very accurate. It is seen that many mistakes have been made in the design, establishment and operation of the GES plants and as a result of this, very large plants are inefficient. There are important points to be taken into consideration in the design of these power plants as well as the points to be considered in the installation and operation. During projecting, location selection, panel direction, panel angle and shading are important parameters. It is known that panel temperature, wind and pollution significantly affect panel efficiency in solar power plants. In this study; The effects of the parameters such as panel angle, panel direction, shading, temperature, humidity, wind, pollution of the GES plants on the panel efficiency were revealed by the studies given in the literature and the subject was discussed. In addition, the effects of solar tracking systems on the efficiency of photovoltaic systems are discussed. Suggestions for the design, installation and operation of the GES plants are presented.

Ana sanayi firmaları üretimini talep ettikleri taşıt koltuklarının belirli şartnamelere uygun olmasını isterler. İmalatçı firma bu durumda koltuğun prototipini üretip birtakım değiştirme ve iyileştirmelerle teknik şartları sağlamaya çalışabilir. Fakat bu yol pahalı ve zaman alıcıdır. Bu durumda alternatif yöntem koltuğun sonlu eleman modelini geliştirmek ve üzerinde parametrik çalıştırmalar gerçekleştirmektir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle bir ticari araç koltuğunun iskelet aksamına eklenen sünger, kılıf, sırt tahtası gibi katmanların koltuğun ileri-geri ve yanal doğrultudaki modal parametrelere etkisi deneysel olarak incelenmiştir. Buradan elde edilen sonuçlara göre koltuk iskeleti sonlu eleman modeline katmanlar çeşitli kütle ve katılık parametreleriyle eklenmiştir. Daha sonra sonlu eleman modelinin gerçek koltuk modeliyle uyumlu olması için bu parametrelerin uygun değerleri cevap yüzeyi yaklaşımı ile belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bu yöntemle, ilgili katmanların hangilerinin daha etkili olduğu da görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, sonlu eleman modeli ile elde edilen temel frekansların her iki doğrultu için deneysel frekanslarla uyumlu olduğu, özellikle ileri-geri harekette frekans cevabı fonksiyonu genliklerinin de birbirine oldukça yakın olduğu görülmüştür. Vehicle manufacturers demand vehicle seats to be in accordance with certain specifications. Therefore, a seat manufacturer company may produce a prototype of the seat so that the specifications may be satisfied by various modifications and improvements. However, this is expensive and time consuming approach. As an alternative, finite element model of the seat may be developed so that some parametric studies may be performed before manufacturing. In this work, first, experimental studies are implemented to study the influence of layers added to the metal structure such as foam, seat cover, backrest board to seat’s foreaft and lateral modal properties. Outcomes of these studies are considered to define layers as additional mass and stiffness components in the software environment. Later, response surface methodology is utilized to determine suitable values of the layer components so as to match the finite element model with the real one. Besides, which layer parameters are dominant in the model is figured out by this method. Finally, it is concluded the finite element model updating is achieved by the response surface method, since the experimental and the computational frequencies for both foreaft and lateral frequencies are in good agreement, and especially the foreaft frequency response function amplitudes of the finite element and real model are compatible. In this study, a PV/Wind hybrid power generation system was studied using meteorological data of Bursa province. Reliability of the weather data is crucial when designing renewable-based power systems. As a result, weather data of the two specific years (2011, 2014) were chosen for the dynamic simulations. The designed hybrid system consists of PV panels and a wind turbine. The outcome of the study shows that with the proposed 1 MW PV + 2 MW wind turbine system, it is possible to generate enough electricity to compensate the annual electricity requirement of 450 households which can be considered as a small district area. Levelized cost of energy is found a value between 0.413-0.568 $/kWh. Payback period of the system is found a value around 20 years. It was concluded that it is essential to offer adequate incentives for renewable-based power applications to make them economically beneficial. Çalışmanın sonuçları, 1 MW kapasitede fotovoltaik panel ve 2 MW kapasitede rüzgar türbini kullanılarak oluşturulan hibrit sistem ile 450 haneden oluşan küçük bir yerleşim bölgesinin yıllık elektrik ihtiyacını karşılamanın mümkün olduğunu göstermiştir. Hibrit güç üretim sistemi ile üretilen enerjinin birim fiyatının 0.413-0.568 $/kWh aralığında olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca tasarlanan sistemin geri ödeme süresinin 20 yıl civarında olduğu hesaplanmıştır. Bu sistemlerin ekonomik anlamda yatırımcıya daha cazip hale gelebilmesi için devletin daha faydalı teşvikler sunması kaçınılmazdır.

In this research, the Harris hawks optimization algorithm (HHO), the grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA) and the multi-verse optimization algorithm (MVO) have been used in solving manufacturing optimization problems. This paper is the first research study for the optimization of processing parameters for manufacturing processes using the HHO, the GOA, and the MVO in the literature, and in particular, for grinding operations. A well-known grinding optimization problem is solved to prove how effective the HHO, the GOA and the MVO are in solving manufacturing problems and to demonstrate superiority over other algorithms. The results of the HHO, the GOA and the MVO are compared with other methods such as the genetic algorithm, the ant colony algorithm, the scatter search, the differential evolution algorithm, the particle swarm optimization algorithm, simulated annealing, the artificial bee colony, harmony search, improved differential evolution, the hybrid particle swarm algorithm, teaching learning-based optimization algorithms, the cuckoo search, and the fractal search algorithm. The results show that the HHO, the GOA, and the MVO are efficient optimization approaches for obtaining optimal manufacturing variables in manufacturing operations. In this paper, a novel hybrid optimization algorithm (H-HHONM) which combines the Nelder-Mead local search algorithm with the Harris hawks optimization algorithm is proposed for solving real-world optimization problems. This paper is the first research study in which both the Harris hawks optimization algorithm and the H-HHONM are applied for the optimization of process parameters in milling operations. The H-HHONM is evaluated using well-known benchmark problems such as the three-bar truss problem, cantilever beam problem, and welded beam problem. Finally, a milling manufacturing optimization problem is solved for investigating the performance of the H-HHONM. Additionally, the salp swarm algorithm is used to solve the milling problem. The results of the H-HHONM for design and manufacturing problems solved in this paper are compared with other optimization algorithms presented in the literature such as the ant colony algorithm, genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization algorithm, simulated annealing algorithm, artificial bee colony algorithm, teaching learning-based optimization algorithm, cuckoo search algorithm, multi-verse optimization algorithm, Harris hawks optimization optimization algorithm, gravitational search algorithm, ant lion optimizer, moth-flame optimization algorithm, symbiotic organisms search algorithm, and mine blast algorithm. The results show that H-HHONM is an effective optimization approach for optimizing both design and manufacturing optimization problems.

Bu çalışmada, AISI 304 ostenitik paslanmaz çeliğinden imal edilmiş sac plakaların nokta direnç kaynağı kullanılarak bağlanması işleminde etken parametreler incelenmiştir. En uygun kaynak parametrelerinin seçilmesinin yanı sıra kaynak bağı sonrasında çeliğin yüzeyinde en az kaynak izi kalması amaçlanmıştır. Kaynak sonrası oluşan çekirdek bölgesi renk ölçüm teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve ardından elde edilen sonuçlar uzman bir kaynakçının verdiği puanlar ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Nokta direnç kaynağının dayanımı da kesme testi yardımıyla kontrol edilmiştir. Bu çalışma, imalat öncesinde uygun estetik görünüm ve dayanım için yapılacak olan ön imalatların planlanmasında ve değerlendirilmesinde kaynak olacaktır. İmalat sonrasında ise ek işçilik gerektirmeden hem estetik hem de yeterli dayanıma sahip kaynak bağlarının gerçekleştirilmesi için sunulan yaklaşımın faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. In this study, the process parameters for the joining of sheet metal plates produced of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel using resistance spot welding were investigated. By choosing the most suitable process parameters, it is aimed to keep the minimum mark on the surface after spot welding operation. The nugget zone after welding was analysed using image processing techniques and also the obtained results were compared with the scored by an expert. The strength of the spot welding was also checked with a shear testing. It is thought that the study will be a guide for planning and evaluation the preliminary tests to be carried out for adequate aesthetic view and strength before manufacturing. This approach will be useful for the realization of welding joint with aesthetic and sufficient strength without requiring additional tests after manufacturing, too. It is aimed that the study will be an example for future study in order to instantaneous measure and report on the objective evaluation of the aesthetic view of the joint area during the welding operation. Bu makalede, binek ve ticari araçların bagaj hacimlerinin uluslararası standartlara göre hesaplanabilmesi için bilgisayar destekli tasarım (CAD) yazılımı içerisinde çalışan bir yerleşim algoritması geliştirilmiş, algoritma kodlanarak örnek modeller üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Dış yüzeyleri ve iç yüzeyleri verilen bagaj geometrik modeli üzerinde, ISO 3832 ve DIN 70020 standartlarında yer alan yöntem referans alınarak bagaj içine konulan hacimsel blokların dik yerleşim düzenlerine göre dizilmesi geliştirilen algoritma ile gerçekleştirilmiş, maksimum sayıda bloğun sığdığı durum bagaj hacmi olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu sayede, yeni araç tasarım sürecinde zaman ve maliyet açısından önemli kazanımlar söz konusu olacak, mevcut durumda fiziksel ortamda manuel olarak yapılan ve zaman alan testler, araç tasarım sürecinde CAD ortamında daha kısa sürede gerçekleştirilebilecektir. In this study, an algorithm was developed to calculate the trunk volumes of vehicles according to international standards. The algorithm was coded inside the CAD model and applied to the example models. Standard blocks are arranged orthogonally inside a given outer and inner surfaces of trunk volume according to ISO 3832 and DIN 70020 standards using the developed algorithm. The maximum number of blocks is set as trunk volume. Therefore, there will be significant gains regarding time and cost in the new vehicle design process. In the current situation, the manual and time-consuming tests in the physical environment can be performed in the CAD environment during the vehicle design process in a shorter time.

In this paper, an evaluation of the static and dynamic behavior of bimetallic spur gears with different gear parameters is performed numerically. Bimetallic lightweight spur gears working without a decrease in the performance of the gear mechanisms have many potential benefits in automotive and aerospace applications. A bimetallic spur gear consists of two metals which are steel on the gear teeth and aluminum on the hub region. The dynamic performance of these gears is evaluated by using a two degree of freedom (2-DOF) dynamic model. The finite element method is used to calculate maximum root stress for varying ring thicknesses and other gear parameters for gears with symmetric and asymmetric teeth. These stress values and the weight reduction ratios are taken into consideration to optimize the ring thickness. Tooth deflection is also calculated to determine tooth stiffness by finite element analysis (FEA). Dynamic simulations are carried out to investigate the effects of gear parameters on the dynamic force and static transmission error (STE). Sample simulation results are illustrated with numerical examples. The results indicate that, if properly designed, bimetallic gears can provide a high potential to reduce the weight in power transmission systems without adverse effects on stress and dynamic behavior. Bu çalışma, Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsünde Ali Durmuş'un danışmanlığında Ömer Osman Deveci tarafından hazırlanan "Binek araç koltuk kızak bağlantı braketinin tasarımı ve ürün testlerinin gerçekleştirilmesi" adlı yüksek lisans tezine dayanılarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu çalışma, Avrupa Birliği ülkelerinde yayınlanan ECE regülasyonu R-14 emniyet kemeri bağlantıları şartları altında çalışan koltuk kızak profil kesiti geliştirilmesi üzerinedir. Kızak profilinde farklı senaryolar oluşturularak regülasyonun şartlarını sağlayıp sağlayamadığı incelenmiştir. Malzeme tipi, sac kalınlığı ve kesit simetri durumu değişkenleri ile farklı senaryolar oluşturulmuştur. Senaryoların modellenmesi CATIA V5’te ve sonlu elemanlar analizleri HyperWorks’te gerçekleştirilmiştir. Seçilen bir senaryonun prototipleri üretilerek test edilmiştir. ECE R-14 regülasyon test sonuçları ile analiz sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır. Karşılaştırma sonucunda testte elde edilen koltuk sırt yer değiştirme değeri sonlu elemanlarda elde edilen sonuca % 90 oranında yakın çıkmıştır. This study concerns about seat tracks which are designed and developed for passing Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) R-14 regulation. Main focus on the seat track design is profile sections. Alternative scenarios are created and validated according to the regulation criteria’s. In the scenarios; the material type, thickness and section symmetry parameters have been combined. The CAD models are designed in CATIA V5 and transferred to HyperWorks for FEA’s. In order to verify the results of FEA’s, prototypes are produced and tested. The paper also discusses the FEA results which are compared and validated with the test results. Bu çalışmada, rijit duvar testi sanal ortamda simule edilerek yüksek mukavemetli düşük alaşımlı çelik ön çarpışma kolu et kalınlığının aracın çarpışma performansına etkisi incelenmiş ve en uygun et kalınlığı tespit edilmiştir. Ön çarpışma kollarında HSLA (High-Strength Low-Alloy) çelik grubundaki FEE340 malzemesi kullanılmış ve altı farklı et kalınlığının aracın çarpışma performansına etkileri karşılaştırılmıştır. Simülasyonlarda çarpışma kolu, çarpışma kutusu ve ön tampon (destek) traversinden oluşan yarım araç modeli kullanılmıştır. Farklı kalınlığa sahip ön çarpışma kollarının çarpışma analizleri Abaqus sonlu elemanlar yazılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Simülasyonlardan, toplam deplasman, çarpışma kuvveti verimliliği (CFE), yolcu kabinine iletilen kuvvet miktarı ve her bir çarpışma elemanı tarafından sönümlenen enerji miktarı sonuçları elde edilmiştir. Simülasyonda kullanılan taşıt modeli için, yolcu kabinine iletilen kuvvet, ivme ve deplasman miktarları değerlendirildiğinde HSLA çelik ön çarpışma kolu için en uygun et kalınlığının 2 mm olduğu görülmüştür. In this study, the rigid wall test was simulated in a virtual environment and the effect of high strength low alloy steel front collision rail wall thickness on the crash performance of a vehicle was investigated and the best wall thickness was determined for the front collision rails. The FEE340 material in the HSLA (High-Strength Low-Alloy) steel group was used in the front collision rails and the effects of the six different material wall thicknesses used in the front collision rails were compared with regard to the crash performance of the vehicle. The crash analyses of the frontal collision rails with various thicknesses were performed by the Abaqus finite element software. Total displacement, crush force efficiency (CFE), the amount of force delivered to the passenger compartment and the amount of energy damped by each collision member results were acquired from the simulations. For the vehicle model used in the simulations, when the amounts of force delivered to the passenger life cage, acceleration and displacement were evaluated, it was seen that the best wall thickness for the HSLA steel front collision rail was 2 mm.

Otomotiv endüstrisinde elektrikli araçlara geçişin hızla arttığı günümüzde, yüksek enerji verimliliği sağlayan araç mimarilerinin tasarımı konuları oldukça önem kazanmıştır. Nitekim farklı araç mimarileri ile elde edilecek enerji tüketim ve geri kazanım değerleri bu güç ünitesinin yapısına bağlı olarak değişkenlik göstermektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında, farklı güç aktarma sistemlerine sahip hidrojen enerjili elektrikli araçların enerji tüketimi ve rejeneratif frenleme yardımıyla geri kazanımı farklı mimariler için matematiksel model yardımıyla sayısal olarak incelenmiş ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Öncelikle elektrikli aracın verilen farklı iki sürüş çevrimi için güç hesabı yapılmış ve tekerlek içi, tek kademeli ve iki kademeli vites durumları için aynı elektrik motorundan çekilen ve frenlemeden kazanılan akım değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Hesaplanan akım değerlerine göre tüm güç mimarilerine ait yakıt pili hidrojen tüketimi ve süper-kapasitör şarj durumu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre en düşük hidrojen tüketimi sırasıyla iki kademeli vites, tek kademeli vites ve tekerlek içi motor durumlarında elde edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, en iyi şarj durumu bu sıranın tam tersi durumunda elde edilmiştir. Son olarak farklı yol eğimleri için de enerji tüketimleri ve geri kazanımları karşılaştırılmış ve yine aynı sıralamayı yansıtan sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Nowadays, the shifting to electric vehicles in automotive industry is increasing rapidly, and the design of high-energy efficient vehicle architectures has gained importance. The energy consumption and recovery values to be obtained with different vehicle architectures vary depending on the structure of this power unit. In this study, the energy consumption of hydrogen electric vehicles equipped with different power transmission systems and regeneration with the help of regenerative braking were investigated and compared with the mathematical model for different architectures. Firstly, the power calculation was made for the two different driving cycles of the electric vehicle, and the current values that were drawn from the same electric motor and braking were calculated for the wheel, single stage and two-step gear situations. According to the calculated current values, fuel cell hydrogen consumption and super capacitor charge status of all power architectures were determined. According to the results obtained, the lowest hydrogen consumption are obtained in two-stage gears, single-stage gears, and in-wheel motor conditions, respectively. However, the best charging state is obtained in the reverse order. Finally, energy consumptions and recoveries are compared for different road slopes, and results were obtained reflecting the same order.

There are various factors having an impact on the energetic and exergetic performance (i.e., COP and eCOP) of an absorption refrigeration systems (ARS) such as the temperatures of the generator, condenser, evaporator and absorber, effectiveness of solution, refrigerant and solution-refrigerant heat exchangers and isentropic efficiency of the solution pump. Many studies have focused on these process parameters, but the importance order and contribution ratios of the parameters due to thermodynamic performance have not been determined by using statistical methods. Firstly, in this study, cycles’ thermodynamic model is established and the variation of the COP and eCOP are calculated for different working conditions with different parameters ranges. The effects of these parameters on the COP and eCOP are examined separately on a statistical basis. The importance order of the parameters are determined by using Taguchi and ANOVA methods and the results are compared. Optimum operating conditions are determined by means of statistical analysis for the COP and eCOP. Under these operating conditions, the COP and eCOP of the system are calculated as 0.697 and 0.2829, respectively. Furthermore, for the simultaneous maximization of these two performance indicators, Taguchi-Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) is used. By using this analysis, importance order of the examined parameters on multiple performance characteristics are determined. The absorber and evaporator temperatures are the most efficient parameters on multiple performance characteristics with a contribution ratio of 29.66% and 26.34% of the total effect while the least efficient parameters are the pump efficiency and effectiveness of solution-refrigerant heat exchanger with a contribution ratio of 0.48% and 2.41%, respectively. For the best condition considering the multiple performance characteristics, COP and eCOP of the system are found as 0.6255 and 0.2829, respectively.
