Banjir merupakan permasalahan yang paling sering terjadi di kota besar selain kemacetan. Hal ini disebabkan akibat daerah resapan air berkurang karena semakin banyaknya pemukiman di daerah perkotaan tersebut. Selain makin banyaknya pemukiman, hal lain yang menyebabkan terjadinya banjir adalah buruknya sistem drainase, kondisi saluran nya, limpasan air yang tinggi serta kurangnya dimensi drainase sehingga tidak dapat menampung semakin banyaknya volume air sehingga menjadi luapan air. Salah satu bentuk mitigasi bencana pada penelitian ini adalah alat sensor banjir. Alat sensor ini akan mendeteksi level air dan memberikan sebuah suara peringatan untuk masyarakat sekitar. Hal ini diharapkan agar menjadi salah satu early warning system terhadap bencana banjir. Metode yang dilakukan adalah rancang bangun alat sensor banjir. Diawali dengan studi literature, survey lokasi penempatan alat sensor banjir, persiapan alat dan bahan, permbuatan alat sensor banjir, pengujian alat dan evaluasi serta diakhiri dengan penerapan di lokasi yang telah ditentukan. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini adalah perancangan alat sensor banjir sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Selain itu, alat sensor banjir ini telah diterapkan di Puri Cipageran Indah Kota Cimahi.

The waste problem is a very complex discussion. Every day thousands of tons of waste are produced by industry and households. The most complicated problem of handling waste today is plastic. Until now, Indonesia is the number two plastic waste-producing country in the world, amounting to 187.2 million tons/year (2015). This problem needs to be solved scientifically, given the pollution generated by plastic waste is getting worse. One of the efforts made is to recycle plastic waste, such as the people of Cinanjung Village, Kutawaringin Village, and Hegarmanah Village, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency. The problems that arise are (1) the process of making "butek" (plastic seeds) is still very traditional which endangers the safety of the craftsman and the surrounding environment, (2) the process of making plastic seeds requires a long time, (3) the production management system is managed simply. The solution offered is designing and making Plastic Lubricating Machines as well as management and technical training in the use of lubricating machines. From the use of the lubricating machine it can be concluded that; (1) the production process is efficient and effective, (2) occupational health and safety are concerned, (3) the quality of the product is better, (4) production management is organized and recorded.

Fuel system, type of fuel and type of spark plug, are the determining variables in producing exhaust gas in motorized vehicles. Pollutants produced by motor vehicle emissions include Carbon Monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen Monoxide (NOX), Hydrocarbons (HC), Lead Particles (PB), smoke and ash. These pollutants can cause interference in humans, animals, plants and other objects. The study was conducted to determine the effect of the main variables of the fuel system variables (Carburetor and EFI), type of fuel (Premium octane 88 and Pertamax octane 92) and the type of spark plugs (standard spark plugs and spark plugs Iridium) on CO gas exhaust. The test tool used to determine the value of the percentage of vehicle exhaust is a Gas Analyzer and the test vehicle used is a 4-step motorcycle. The research method uses factorial design and variable analysis using Yates's algorithm. The test results show that the effect of the fuel system is -1,272 (Carburetor), the effect of fuel type is -0,268 (Premium), and the type of spark plug is -0,018 (standard spark plug), so the most influential variable on CO gas output is the fuel system using the Carburetor.

The number of traffic accidents in Indonesia is still relatively high. According to the official data, there were 107,500 cases of accidents in 2019. The accident was caused by various factors, including human factors as much as 61%. This indicates the driver’s lack of awareness to comply with traffic regulations such as the maximum speed limit for vehicles. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to make a device that can observe the speed of the vehicle, so that the driver does not exceed the maximum speed limit of the vehicle on the highway. This paper describes on a prototype of the vehicle speed recorder using GPS tracker and Internet-of-Things (IoT) platform. GPS tracker determines the location of a vehicle any time. The speed of a vehicle is computed by using Arduino microcontroller and SIM808 module. Furthermore, the location and speed of a vehicle is sent to a dedicated webserver such that the IoT platform so called Adafruit IO could proceed and display how much the speed of a vehicle being traveled and its location in the real time. Experimental results show that the prototype of vehicle speed recorder can display a location with high accuracy and can render an average speed discrepancy of 3.9 kph during travelling at a certain route. The discrepancy between the value of speed and the location of a vehicle occurs due to the delay in sending latitude and longitude coordinate data from the SIM808 module to the IoT platform.

Oyster mushrooms are a kind of mushrooms that have high nutritional content and medicinal properties. This plant can be cultivated using planting media with the proper composition and the certain temperature as well as humidity. This paper describes the design and implementation of a prototype of temperature and humidity control system in the oyster mushroom cultivation based on the internet-of-things framework to obtain the good quality mushrooms. Controlling is carried out by utilizing DHT-11 sensor, Arduino Uno microcontroller, MCU ESP8266, and the internet-of-things (IoT) platforms which are called Cayenne. The temperature is maintained between 22°C-28°C and humidity of 60%-80% through continuous monitoring remotely. The Cayenne application installed on the desktop computer or an Android-based mobile phone provides data on temperature and humidity at all times. Experimental results show that monitoring and controlling temperature and humidity can be done well through the Cayenne application so that the whole system realizes the concept of IoT.

Kemampuan masyarakat Indonesia dalam mengatasi permasalahan kehidupan terutama yang menyangkut kehidupan sehari-hari, sebagian besar masih mengandalkan potensi alam sekitar. Sayangnya potensi alam tersebut tidak diolah menjadi suatu produk yang memiliki nilai tambah. Terutama saat potensi alam perlu mendapat sokongan dari luar wilayah tersebut. Kecamatan Cipeundeuy kabupaten Bandung, terdapat sentra petani ikan, tepatnya di Desa Cipeundeuy, Mereka sangat bergantung dari penghasilan sektor ini, dan dalam aktifitasnya memerlukan bahan baku pakan ternak ikan cukup banyak setiap harinya. Permasalahan muncul setelah bahan baku cukup mahal, karena pakan ternak ikan didatangkan dari daerah lain seperti Jakarta dan Bandung. Salah satu solusi yang diberikan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan keterampilan cara membuat pakan ikan dengan menggunakan limbah makanan yang ada disekitar petani ikan seperti dedak (limbah padi), ampas tahu, dan sisa tulang ikan, dan lain-lain menggunakan Mesin Pengolah Pakan Ikan. Melalui pengolahan pakan ikan mandiri, petani dapat mengurangi biaya produksi budidaya ikan tersebut.

Mobile robot is a type of robot that can move freely because it is equipped with motion elements such as wheels or legs. In guiding its motion, a mobile robot is equipped with a navigation system so that it can avoid obstacles. This paper describes the design and implementation of a wheeled mobile robot using fuzzy logic principles with Mamdani's fuzzy inference system so that the robot has the obstacles avoidance capability. Mobile robot is equipped with three pairs of HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors to detect the distance between the robot and the obstacles. Fuzzy logic controller is installed in the Arduino microcontroller to generate an actuating signal for the DC motor mounted on each robot wheel. The whole fuzzy system is designed using three distance inputs obtained from ultrasonic sensors with each variable having three fuzzy sets with triangular and trapezoidal membership functions. Meanwhile, the output variable is the speed of movement of each wheels with each output variable has three fuzzy sets with triangular and trapezoidal membership functions. Based on the appropriate rule bases, fuzzy logic controllers are designed to achieve robot motion with the obstacle avoidance capability. The experimental results show the wheeled mobile robot can move along the trajectory without hitting the walls so that it has an obstacle avoidance capability. Compared to simulation results from Matlab, the accuracy of the speed value that rendered by the fuzzy inference system installed in Arduino microcontroller for some experimental data is approximately 96 %.

A modern city is characterized by many buildings for commercial and residential purposes. Disaster mitigation such as building fires, earthquakes, and so on should be taken into account in city management. Mitigation seeks to reduce the level of risks when a disaster occurs. A proper mitigation requires an early warning system to alert the city authority in order to handle a disaster effectively. This paper describes the prototype of a building monitoring system using an internet-of-things platform for supporting the disaster mitigation in the city. It employs a temperature sensor, a smoke sensor, and a vibration sensor to detect the condition of temperature, smoke concentration, and the presence or absence of vibrations as an indication of an earthquake respectively. All sensor data is pooled in XBee transmitter module to broadcast into XBee receiver module. The data is sent continuously through the ESP-8266 module such that an internet-of-things platform called Cayenne will proceed the data by displaying the condition of building and alerting a warning message. If there is an indication of a fire or earthquake, then such message will be displayed in the Cayenne dashboard and sent to the registered mobile phone number. Experimental results show the Cayenne dashboard can display data related to the condition of the building at any time and a warning message can be displayed whenever indications of a fire and earthquake.

Oyster mushroom is one type of mushroom that is commonly consumed by Indonesian people which is relatively easy to cultivate. It can produce the optimum fruit body at temperatures below 30°C, the range of humidity is 60–90% with altitudes between 500–1000 meters above sea level. This paper describes on the development of the prototype of temperature and humidity control system in oyster mushroom cultivation using a fuzzy logic controller. The prototype comprises of DHT11 sensor for detecting temperature and humidity, Arduino microcontroller, mistmaker, and cooling fan. Fuzzy logic controller is installed in the Arduino microcontroller to generate an actuating signal for the mistmaker and cooling fan based on fuzzy inputs. The whole fuzzy system is designed using two inputs namely temperature and humidity with each input consist of three fuzzy sets with the triangular membership function. Meanwhile, the output variable is the speed of cooling fan with three fuzzy sets and triangular membership functions. A Mamdani inference system is adopted to achieve the control objective in the whole system. Based on the appropriate rule bases, fuzzy logic controllers are designed to produce the temperature and humidity setpoint around 27°C and 60–90 % respectively. Experimental results show the time response to achieve the setpoint span from 1 minute 27 seconds until 8 minutes 10 seconds.

Air transportation allows us to translocate the logistics and humans across islands, oceans, and even continents. In addition to these benefits, risk factors in the form of accidents are generally followed by disconnection of communication between aircraft and air traffic controllers. In that case, we could search an emergency locator transmitter to find the location where the accident occurred. However, such signal is vulnerable to fire and shock caused by an aircraft accident. This paper proposes a prototype of global positioning system (GPS) transceiver for quadcopter based emergency locator beacon. A quadcopter equipped with a GPS transmitter, accelerometer sensor, and ATmega128 microcontroller could be put in a special place on the aircraft. The quadcopter will work or be activated if the accelerometer sensor detects an impact or sudden drop in height. While, a GPS receiver equipped with a Visual Basic 6 based desktop application was developed to detect the location of quadcopter. Experimental results show that the GPS receiver managed to detect the location of the quadcopter and convert GPS data into satellite images in real time through an application developed on the GPS receiver.

Automation technology cannot be separated from the presence of robots. One of the forms of robots that are made similar to insects is the hexapod robot. One of the capabilities that must be possessed by a mobile robot in achieving its mission is the ability to avoid obstacles and effectiveness in its movement. This paper describes the design and implementation of speed control and obstacle avoidance of a hexapod robot using the Mamdani type fuzzy logic controller. The robotic system consists of the Arduino mega 2560 microcontroller, the HC-SR04 sensors, and the XISC-32 servo motor controller. The input variables for fuzzy systems are composed of two, namely the distance between the robot and the obstacle in front of the robot and the difference between the distance and reference, while the output variable is the delay time of the driving signal which correlates with the speed of robot movement. All input and output variables are divided into three fuzzy sets with triangular membership functions. Experimental results show the robot has obstacle avoidance abilities and moves effectively. The robot goes forward with the speed of motion according to the distance of the robot with obstacles. When the robot moves forward, the robot is able to change its speed from 7.34 cm/s to 4.12 cm/s as it moves closer to the obstacle.

Thermal pipe expansion on the turbine greatly affects the performance of the turbine, mainly produces misalignment in turbines. The stress analysis on the pipe and the load on the nozzle is very important to ensure that the stress that occurs is still safe and the load that occurs on the nozzle is still below the allowable load. Field information is known, Steam type of 51-G-201-T, capacity 10 MW, total weighs 58 tons, weight casing 37 tons, which has been operating since July 1989, has been occur misalignment on turbines. Stress pipe and load analysis of turbine nozzles on the turbine using software (Autopipe V8i Select Series 3 Edition by Bentley). In this perspective, calculation methodologies were developed in order to do quick analysis of the most common configurations, according to the codes ASME B31.1 (Piping Power). The results of the pipe stress analysis showed that the maximum sustained stress ratio occurred at point A39 (0.32), maximum displacement stress ratio at point A39 (0.97) and maximum hoop stress ratio at point A09 (0.44), all values below 1. This shows that the stress is still safe. The result of load analysis on the turbine casing is the direction x = -880 kg, y = 6246.4kg, z = -3697.7kg, smaller than the weight of the 37 tones turbine casing, so misalignment is not caused by shifting the turbine casing.
