Abstract

Indonesia meets the needs of 50% of the world's palm oil needs. Sources of Indonesian palm oil, 34 % are produced by independent smallholders. The lack of governance of independent smallholders leads to low productivity of their crops. Global market demands for palm oil derivative sources become an obligation to compete. The development of blockchain technology that favors traceability and transparency is applied in the supply agriculture sector, and this is an opportunity for how blockchain technology can help the palm oil supply chain become transparent and can find its source. This research uses the system development life cycle (SDLC) method. And business process model and notation in business model design. The results of the design of the FFB sale and purchase transaction system with blockchain technology have succeeded in connecting farmer transactions as FFB providers with traders and PKS as FFB buyers. Every transaction sent by the farmer will be locked by a hash, as immunity makes the data sent immutable. 4. The Nature and Management of Sustainable Palm Oil Supply Chains.

Abstract

There is high demand for palm oil, which is widely used in food products, cosmetics, cleaning products and biofuels. The sustainability of oil palm farming is still controversial, because different interpretations of sustainability have resulted in conflicts that arise during the production process. The study aims to investigate the economic, social and environmental dimensions aimed at building a sustainable palm oil supply chain. The research was conducted using interviews, field observations and literature studies of palm oil industry supply chain actors to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with achieving supply chain traceability, as well as the consequences of these efforts. The findings of this research highlight the difficulties faced by downstream buyers and upstream producers resulting from traceability problems of fresh fruit bunches. The participation of independent smallholders is a matter of debate in the palm oil agroindustry supply chain. It is necessary to monitor their performance and provide training and assistance to them in order to create a sustainable palm oil supply chain from upstream producers to downstream industries. Additionally, this study highlights the potential negative consequences that may arise from well-intentioned initiatives to promote socio-economic development related to sustainable palm oil production. These conclusions provide a valuable contribution to the existing literature on sustainable supply chain management by examining the influence of stakeholders with diverse objectives on behavior in complex palm oil supply chains. Abstract

The use of smartphone technology for social activities has a good effect on e-commerce activities, and many Indonesians have taken advantage of this technology. With this opportunity, the authors designed an e-commerce application for buying and selling oil palm fresh fruit bunches used by independent smallholders, traders, factories, and transportation. This application is intended to use a unified modeling language and the programming language Javascript MySQLit database. This application can provide information on the availability of oil palm harvests advertised by farmers in this application. The application is also able to facilitate transactions, whether done by Cash Only Delivery or via transfer. This application is also enabled with the provider of selected or recommended palm fresh fruit bunches. There are recommendations for the availability of oil palm fresh fruit bunches by entering the value of needs for traders and mills. Then the system will display a map of the location points of the suppliers of oil palm fresh fruit bunches. Visual information on providers is also shown.
