Bu araştırmanın temel amacı otel işletmelerinde görev yapan çalışanların yöneticilerinde algıladıkları üretim, değişim ve çalışan odaklı liderlik algılarının sahip oldukları iş performansı düzeyine etkisini ölçmektir. Çalışmanın amacını gerçekleştirmek için Antalya ilinde faaliyet gösteren ve basit tesadüfi yöntemle seçilen 417 beş yıldızlı otel işletmesi çalışanından anket yöntemi ile veriler elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizde korelasyon ve yapısal eşitlik modellemesi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler neticesinde otel çalışanlarının yöneticilerini en fazla çalışan odaklı bir lider olarak algıladıkları ve çalışanların performans düzeyini en fazla etkileyen liderlik tarzının ise yine aynı şekilde çalışan odaklı liderlik tarzı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte değişim ve üretim odaklı liderlik tarzlarının da çalışanların iş performansı düzeyini etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. The main purpose of this research is to measure the impact of perceptions of production, change and employee-oriented leadership perceived by the employees in hotel businesses on their employee performance. In order to realize the purpose of the study, data was obtained from the 417 five-star hotel management employees who were active in Antalya and selected by simple random method. Correlation and structural equation modeling methods were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the hotel employees perceive their managers as the most employee-oriented leader and the leadership style that affects the performance level of the employees the most is the employee-oriented leadership style. In addition, it was determined that change and production oriented leadership styles also affect the employee performance level of the employees.

Akathisia is a movement disorder characterized by an inner sense of unease, unrest and dysphoria.Suicidal behavior related with akathisia in patients is one of serious harmful behaviors and requires rapid intervention.There is limited number of cases about venlafaxine-associated akathisia in the literature, but it is not still yet known exactly what the actual incidence is.Side effects associated with antidepressants should be closely monitored and should be kept in mind without irreversible conditions. In this case report we will conclude about a case in which rapid development of akathisia and suicidal behavior occurs following venlafaxine treatment initiated with a non-psychiatric indication. © 2018 ANP Publishing. Duloxetine is a serotonin-noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. In addition to major depressive disorder treatment, it is also used effectively in the treatment of diabetic neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia syndrome. In this case report, we aimed to present a patient who experienced visual and tactile hallucinations after taking duloxetine for the com-plaint of diabetic neuropathic pain. Patient's hallucinations appeared after duloxetine dose increased and disap-peared after duloxetine stopped. Duloxetine-induced hallucinations cases have been reported following the use of the drug in a few case levels. The etiology may be due to dopaminergic increase through the serotonergic system. In addition, multiple drug use and the presence of additional medical illness may also increase the risk of hallucina-tion due to the metabolic interaction of duloxetine with other drugs. © 2018, Cukurova University, Faculty of Medicine. Aim: Taking the hepatitis B and hepatitis C prevalence in Turkey into account, the coiffeur employees may play a role in the spread of these diseases and our study aimed to determine the knowledge level and practices of employees in the coiffeur industry in Aksaray with regard to Hepatitis. Materials and Methods: In the year 2010, a total of 59 people were administered face to face surveys. The questionnaire contained 46 questions about sociodemographic characteristics, professional experience, working conditions, and the level of knowledge as well as the measures taken to prevent infection. Results: The average age of respondents was 25 years and all of the participants were women. It was found that the participants had no idea about the contagion of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, while 62% had not been checked for and vaccinated against Hepatitis B. Conclusion: It was suggested that the employees in the coiffeur industry should continue to receive training to prevent contagion of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and also further efforts should be made to ensure them to use personal protective measures.

Objective: This multicentric study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping in clinically uterine-confined endometrial cancer. Methods: Patients who underwent primary surgery for endometrial cancer with SLN algorithm were reviewed. Indocyanine green (ICG) or blue dye was used as tracer. SLNs and/or suspicious lymph nodes were resected. Side specific lymphadenectomy was performed when mapping was unsuccessful. SLNs were ultra-staged on final pathology.Results: 357 eligible patients were analyzed. The median age was 59 years. The median resected SLN number was 2 (range 1-12) per patient. Minimal invasive and open surgeries were performed in 264 (73.9%) and 93 (26.1%) of the patients, respectively. ICG was used in 231 (64.7%) and blue dye in 126 (35.3%) patients. Dyes were injected into the cervix in 355 (99.4%) patients. In 71 (19.9%) patients only SLN biopsy was done whereas 169 (47.3%) underwent pelvic and 117 (32.8%) underwent pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy. The overall, unilateral and bilateral SLN detection rates were 91.9%, 20.5% and 71.4%, respectively. The mapping rates by using ICG or blue dye were comparable (p=0.526).There were 43 (12%) patients with lymphatic metastasis. SLN algorithm were not able to detect 3 of 43 metastatic patients who had isolated paraaortic metastasis. Negative predictive value, sensitivity and false negative rate were 98.80% (CI: 96.51-99.59), 92.5% (CI: 79.61-98.43) and 2.6%, respectively. The risk of non-SLN involvement in patients with macrometastatic SLN, micrometastatic SLN and isolated tumor cells in SLN were 61.2%, 14.3% and 0%, respectively.Conclusions: SLN biopsy has high accuracy in detecting lymphatic metastasis. However, one third of the cases with metastatic SLN(s) also had non-SLN involvement and this risk increases to two third of the cases when SLN has macrometastasis. The effect of leaving these nodes in situ on survival should be evaluated in further studies.

Traction alopecia is a traumatic hair loss as a result of excessive pulling of the hair on the margins or nonmarginal area of the scalp due to hairstyles. Peripilar keratin casts is a cylindrical structure that encircles the hair shaft placed at the periphery of the alopecia plaque. It is derived from the inner and/or outer hair root sheath cells and it develops because of persistent hair traction. The most common misdiagnosed is louse eggs or nits. Other diagnosis that must be considered include squamous disease of the scalp such as psoriasis, pityriasis simplex and seborrheic dermatitis. This structure is a useful dermoscopic finding for physician in both diagnosis and follow-up of traction alopecia. Here, we describe a thirty-four-year-old women with traction alopecia whose diagnosis is clarified by the presence of peripilar keratin cast. © 2015 by Türkiye Klinikleri.

Urinary tract infection is a serious problem in diabetic patients, and asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB) in these patients is a risk factor for pyelonephritis and renal dysfunction. In the present study, we investigated the relationships between age, body mass index, duration of diabetes, HbA1c level, glucosuria, glomerular filtration rate and microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetic patients with ASB. One hundred and twenty-three patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in the study. The patients were divided into two groups according to ASB; Group I consisted of 22 patients with ASB, and Group II of 101 patients without ASB. There were no significant differences between the groups in regard to age, body mass index, creatinine clearance or microalbuminuria, while there were significant differences in HbA1c, duration of diabetes mellitus, glucosuria and pyuria (P0.05). The most commonly isolated microorganism was Escherichia coli. The present study identified the duration of diabetes, high HbA1c, glucosuria and pyuria as risk factors for ASB in type 2 diabetic patients.

WOS: 000227934100008 Bonitos (Sarda sarda Bloch, 1793) frozen with different prefreezing and postfreezing treatments at -35 degrees C in an air blast freezer with 5 m/s air velocity were stored at -25,2 degrees C for 6 months. We determined the effects on the sensory properties, total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values, and the drip loss during the storage period of applying glaze with solution including ascorbic acid for preventing oxidation, of using sodium polyphosphate in order to prevent drip loss during the frozen storage, of removing the internal organs and gills, and of keeping in ice during 24 h prefreezing. The TVB-N content of fish from which the internal organs and gills had been removed was significantly lower. While gutting alone did not affect TBA growth, gutting with icing improved TBA values. Glaze with ascorbic acid was more effective than glaze with water (without ascorbic acid) in preventing lipid oxidation. The chemical and sensory quality of all the fish was good during the frozen storage period.
