A generalized additive model was used to identify the nonlinear relationship. Besides, we conducted subgroup analyses and interaction tests.Results: A total of 2177 patients with hypertension and OSA undergoing polysomnography were enrolled in this study. During a median follow-up period of 87 months, 82 participants developed new-onset MI. Overall, CVAI was positively related to the risk of new-onset MI (per 1 SD increase; HR = 1.54, 95% CI: 1.28– 1.85). In multivariable-adjusted models, the risk of new-onset MI increased with quartiles of CVAI, with an HR of 3.64 (95% CI: 1.94– 6.83) for quartile 4 compared with quartile 1. The generalized additive model and smoothed curve fit revealed a nonlinear relationship between CVAI and risk of new-onset MI with an inflection point of approximately 112. None of the stratification variables had a significant effect on the relationship between CVAI and new-onset MI. Similar outcomes were observed in the sensitivity analysis. The addition of CVAI significantly improved reclassification and discrimination over the conventional model, with a category-free NRI of 0.132 (95% CI 0.021 to 0.236, P = 0.021) and an IDI of 0.012 (95% CI 0.005 to 0.023, P < 0.001).Conclusion: This study demonstrated a nonlinear relationship between CVAI and the risk of new-onset MI in patients with hypertension and OSA. Abstract Background Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a growing threat leading to substantial disease burden globally. Poor sleep and physical inactivity are common in modern societies and independently associated with MAFLD, however, their joint effects on MAFLD remains unclear. Methods This population-based cross-sectional study was conducted in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, between July 2019 and September 2021. Self-reported sleep behaviors and physical activity (PA) were assessed using validated questionnaires. The primary outcome was radiological diagnosis of MAFLD. Results Of the 10 089 participants aged 47.0 (9.1) years (51.6% men), 3854 (38.2%) individuals had MAFLD. Objective·To explore the relationship between sleep quality and carotid atherosclerosis in the population with low or moderate risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Methods·Based on the population-based cohort study of chronic diseases in Xinjiang, the researchers selected residents aged 35－75 from two fixed communities in Urumqi and Korla, in Northern and Southern Xinjiang, respectively, using a two-stage random cluster sampling method from July 2019 to September 2021. In the population without a history of coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular events, the prediction model for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk in China (China-PAR) was used to evaluate the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Low and moderate risk population of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases were included. Participants completed physical examinations, questionnaires [including the Risk Factors Assessment Scale of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases in Xinjiang, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), and Food Frequency Questionnaire], cardiovascular and metabolic biochemical examinations, and carotid color doppler. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and plaque formation were used to determine the carotid atherosclerosis of the study subjects. Multivariate Logistic regression model and restricted cubic spline (RCS) were used to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and carotid intima-media thickening/plaque formation in the population with low and moderate risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Results·A total of 1 528 subjects were included in the study, the mean age was (49.4±8.2) years, and 685 (44.8%) were male. In the included population, there were 581 (38.0%) subjects with carotid intima-media thickening and 305 (20.0%) subjects with carotid plaque formation. Among them, intima-media thickening and plaque formation both occurred in 154 (10.1%) people. Therefore, the prevalence of carotid atherosclerosis was 47.9% (732 subjects). Compared with the group without carotid artery thickening, the group with carotid intima-media thickening/plaque formation had higher levels of general cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk factors, including age, male ratio, blood lipid levels and obesity, and higher PSQI sleep score [(7.06±2.13) vs (7.43±2.51), P=0.001]. The proportion of patients with poor sleep quality was higher (6.5% vs 12.1%, P=0.001). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that poor sleep quality was an independent risk factor for carotid atherosclerosis [adjusted OR (aOR)=1.22, 95%CI 1.004－1.492, P=0.040]. RCS analysis suggested that PSQI and the risk of carotid atherosclerosis showed a positive linear correlation, that is, the worse quality of sleep, the higher risk of carotid atherosclerosis.Conclusion·Although the traditional metabolic risk factors are at a low risk level, the prevalence of carotid atherosclerosis is high and poor sleep quality is an independent risk factor for carotid atherosclerosis in the low and moderate risk population of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Cervical cancer, a prevalent malignancy in the female reproductive tract, exhibits a high incidence. Existing evidence indicates a robust correlation between alterations in vaginal flora composition and the progression of cervical cancer. Nevertheless, there is a lack of clarity concerning the specific microorganisms within the vaginal microbiota that are linked to the onset and development of cervical cancer, as well as the mechanisms through which they exert carcinogenic effects. The 16 S ribosomal (rRNA) and metagenomic sequencing technology were used to analyze vaginal microorganisms, and screening for human papillomavirus (HPV) positive cervical cancer-associated microbial markers using fold change in mean bacterial abundance. Moreover, vaginal microenvironmental factors were detected, and the local vaginal inflammatory state in patients with cervical cancer was subjected to assay via qRT-PCR and ELISA. The hub inflammatory genes were screened by transcriptome sequencing after co-culture of bacteria and normal cervical epithelial cells, and an in vitro model was utilized to assess the impacts of inflammatory factors on cervical cancer. Both cervical cancer patients and HPV-positive patients showed significant changes in the composition of the vaginal flora, characterised by a decrease in the abundance of Lactobacillus and an increase in the abundance of a variety of anaerobic bacteria; The microbial sequencing identified Porphyromonas, Porphyromonas&#95;asaccharolytica, and Porphyromonas&#95;uenonis as microbial markers for HPV-associated cervical cancer. Vaginal inflammatory factors in patients with cervical cancer were overexpressed. After Porphyromonas&#95;asaccharolytica intervention on cervical epithelial H8 cells, interleukin (IL)-1β, a hub differential gene, markedly promoted tumor-associated biological behaviors at the in vitro cytological level in cervical cancer. This study for the first demonstrated that Porphyromonas, Porphyromonas&#95;asaccharolytica, and Porphyromonas&#95;uenonis could serve as novel microbial markers for cervical cancer. Moreover, Porphyromonas&#95;asaccharolytica was identified as having the ability to induce the overexpression of inflammatory genes in cervical epithelial cells to create a favorable microenvironment for the onset and development of cervical cancer. This study was aimed to uncover the character and potential regulatory mechanism of EPB41L3 in cervical cancer (CC). CC cells were injected into BALB/c nude mice (female) to construct a xenograft tumor model. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blot were performed to evaluate the expression of EPB41L3, ERK/p38 MAPK signal markers in CC tissues and cells. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and Transwell was applied to analyze the viability, invasion, and migration of CC cell lines. EPB41L3 was substantially decreased both in CC tissues and cells. Cell viability, invasion, and migration of CC cells were reduced by overexpressing EPB41L3. Bioinformatics analysis prerdicted that EPB41L3 was strongly related to the ERK/p38 MAPK pathway. Compared with Ad-nc mice, the volume and weight of tumors and ERK/p38 MAPK signal markers were down-regulated in Ad-EPB41L3 mice. After knocking down EPB41L3 with EPB41L3 siRNA (siEPB41L3), the ERK/p38 MAPK pathway was activated. Moreover, SB203580 treatment reversed the effect of EPB41L3 silencing on the improvement in viability, migration, and invasion of CC cells. EPB41L3 suppresses the progression of CC via activating the ERK/p38 MAPK pathway. EPB41L3 may serve as an effective therapeutic target for CC., (© 2024. Objective: To explore the relationship between sleep/physical activity and metabolic syndrome (MS) in urban population of Xinjiang. Methods: This is a prospective, cross-sectional study. From July 2019 to September 2021, a two-stage random sampling method was used to randomly select residents aged 30-74 years from two communities in Urumqi of northern Xinjiang and Korla of southern Xinjiang. General situation questionnaire, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale (PSQI) survey, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) survey, physical examination, physiological and biochemical indicators were obtained and analyzed. The dose-response curves of healthy sleep score and physical activity with metabolic syndrome were plotted using restricted cubic spline curves. Multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the independent and combined effects of sleep quality and physical activity on MS risk. Results: A total of 10 209 participants were included. The mean age of the subjects was (47.1±9.1) years, and males accounted for 51.3% (5 275/10 209). The prevalence of MS was significantly associated with the healthy sleep score and physical activity. Compared to the subjects with healthy sleep, OR (95% CI ) of MS with intermediate, and poor sleep were 1.20(1.06-1.35), 1.23(1.04-1.45), respectively. Compared to the subjects with high physical activity, OR (95% CI ) of MS with medium, low physical activity was 1.34(1.15-1.56), 1.42(1.19-1.70), respectively. There was a significant interaction between sleep and physical activity in MS ( P for interaction=0.002). Compared to the subjects with high physical activity and healthy sleep, OR (95% CI ) of MS with poor sleep and high physical activity was 2.03 (1.24-3.33, P for trend=0.016). Conclusion: Poor sleep quality and lack of physical activity are not only independent risk factors for an increased risk of MS but also have a combined effect with an increased risk of MS.

Background: The incidence of cervical cancer in Uyghur women ranks first among those in Han and other ethnic minority groups. We aimed to understand the natural history of HPV in Uyghur women., Methods: A longitudinal cohort study on the natural history of HPV infection in rural Uyghur women in China was conducted between May 2013 and May 2014. A total of 11000 women from South Xinjiang underwent HPV screening by careHPV and liquid-based cytology. Ultimately, a total of 298 women with positive HPV and normal biopsy results or CIN1 were enrolled to participate in a study including follow-up HPV testing for two years., Results: The HPV infection rate in Uyghur women was 9.15%. Among the participants, the careHPV test showed that 298 women were HPV-positive, and histology showed CIN1 or normal results for these women at baseline. Among these patients, after 24 months of initial recruitment, 92 (30.87%) patients had persistent HPV infections, and 206 (69.13%) had cleared HPV infection. Univariate analysis showed that persistent HPV infection was associated with age and shower frequency (P < 0.001 and P = 0.047, respectively)., Conclusions: Our results suggest that women over the age of 50 years who have been infected with HR-HPV for more than 1 year should be regularly screened and monitored for HPV. Purpose: In the Chinese population, we looked at the relationship between the hepatic steatosis index (HSI) and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)., Methods: To evaluate the association between HSI and the risk of T2DM, Cox regression models were employed. Hazard ratios (HR) and 95 percent confidence intervals (CI) were computed. A stratified analysis with interaction testing was also carried out. Additionally, we evaluated the incremental predictive value of the HSI over the established risk factors using the C-statistic, the IDI, and the NRI., Results: During a median follow-up period of 2.97 years, 433 (1.97%) participants developed new-onset T2DM. The smoothing curve fit plot showed a positive correlation between HSI and the risk of T2DM. After adjusting for all noncollinear variables, the risk of T2DM increased by 62% for every 1 standard deviation (SD) increase in HSI. Subgroup analysis indicated that higher HSI levels were associated with a higher risk of T2DM in those aged < 40 years. The addition of HSI enhanced the reclassification and discrimination of established risk factors, with an IDI of 0.027 and an NRI of 0.348 (both P < 0.001)., Conclusion: Our findings suggest that an elevated HSI is substantially associated with a greater risk of T2DM in the Chinese population. Objective: This study aimed to establish and validate a nomogram for better assessment of the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in obese patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) based on independent predictors., Methods: Of 1820 eligible participants from the NAGALA cohort enrolled in the study. Multivariate Cox regression was employed to construct the nomogram. The performance was assessed by area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), C-index, calibration curve, decision curve analysis, and Kaplan-Meier analysis., Results: Five predictors were selected from 17 variables. The AUC values at different time points all indicated that the model constructed with these five predictors had good predictive power. Decision curves indicated that the model could be applied to clinical applications., Conclusions: We established and validated a reasonable, economical nomogram for predicting the risk of T2D in obese NAFLD patients. Background: Cervical cancer is a significant malignancy of the female reproductive system. This study aimed to investigate the functions of Erythrocyte Membrane Protein Band 4.1 Like 3 (EPB41L3) in cervical cancer and to explore its underlying mechanisms., Methods and Results: Expression of EPB41L3 in cervical cancer was analyzed by in-depth mining in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) clinical sequencing database. Patients with high expression of EPB41L3 had a good prognosis. EPB41L3 was overexpressed in HeLa and SiHa cells by a chemically synthesized lentivirus; its overexpression significantly inhibited cell proliferation, promoted apoptosis of HeLa and SiHa cells, and suppressed tumorigenesis in nude mice bearing HeLa cells. The results of microarray analysis showed that EPB41L3 overexpression led to marked gene expression changes, including 258 up-regulated genes and 168 down-regulated genes. Furthermore, EPB41L3 overexpression inhibited PI3K and AKT phosphorylation, leading to the apoptosis of cervical cancer cells., Conclusions: EPB41L3 overexpression inhibits cell proliferation, promotes apoptosis of cervical cancer cells, and suppresses tumorigenicity in vivo. Our findings suggest that EPB41L3 might be a new diagnostic biomarker and a therapeutic target for cervical cancer.

Purpose: This study is aimed at investigating the association between the metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR) index and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the nonobese population and its predictive value., Methods: 10730 nonobese subjects were selected from longitudinal cohort research conducted from January 2010 to December 2014. Cox proportional hazards models were employed to assess the relationship between METS-IR and new-onset NAFLD. Generalized additive models were used to identify nonlinear relationships. In addition, we performed subgroup analyses and interaction tests. The time-dependent receiver operating curve (ROC) and area under the ROC (AUC) were utilized to measure the discriminatory ability of METS-IR for new-onset NAFLD. Beyond clinical risk factors, the incremental predictive value of METS-IR was appraised using integrated discrimination improvement (IDI), C-index, and net reclassification index (NRI)., Results: Over a median period of 804.50 days of follow-up, 1859 (17.33%) participants had a new onset of NAFLD. After adjusting for confounders, the HR for new-onset NAFLD in the Q4 group was 6.40 compared with the Q1 group. When METS-IR was considered a continuous variable, the risk of NAFLD increased by 34% for every 1 SD increase in METS-IR. The smoothing curve shows the dose-response relationship between METS-IR and the presence of new-onset NAFLD. Using a two-piecewise linear regression model, we derived a METS-IR inflection point of 36. HRs were 1.31 on the left side of the inflection point and 1.04 on the right side of the inflection point (log-likelihood ratio test, P < 0.001). Subgroup analyses and interaction tests revealed an interaction between gender and SBP in the association between METS-IR and new-onset NAFLD. In the subgroup analysis of gender and SBP, we observed a higher risk of new-onset NAFLD in men and in those with abnormal SBP levels. We evaluated the ability of METS-IR to identify new-onset NAFLD at different time points. The AUCs at 1, 2, 3, and 4 years were 0.784, 0.756, 0.758, and 0.752, respectively, which represent good discrimination of new-onset NAFLD. The addition of METS-IR greatly improved the reclassification and differentiation of clinical risk factors, with an NRI of 0.276 and an IDI of 0.068. In addition, the addition of METS-IR increased the C-index from 0.719 to 0.771., Conclusion: In a nonobese Chinese population, elevated METS-IR was independently associated with an enhanced risk of NAFLD development and a dose-response relationship existed. Background: The careHPV test as a primary screening method for cervical cancer has been proven to be the best option for Uyghur women in Xinjiang in a previous study. In this research, we aim to discuss the appropriate age for Uyghur women in Xinjiang to be screened for cervical cancer using careHPV., Methods: Eleven thousand women aged 20-69 years old (mean age 38.93 ± 9.74) from South Xinjiang were screened using careHPV and liquid-based cytology, and the positive results were referred for colposcopy and cervical biopsy. A questionnaire regarding basic social characteristics, sexual practices, and reproductive history was administered to each woman. The age-specific prevalence of HPV positivity, cytology abnormality, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2+ in ≥25, ≥30, and ≥35 age groups were analyzed, and the diagnostic value of careHPV in the three age groups was evaluated. The chi-squared test was used to compare the differences between age groups. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve were calculated., Results: The women were mostly married (76.3%) and delivered at 15-19 years of age (61.4%). The HPV infection rate was 9.15% and detection rates of CIN2+ and invasive cervical cancer were 1.53% (1530/100,000) and 0.25% (250/100,000), respectively. The first peak of HPV(+) appeared at the age of 30-34, while CIN2+ appeared at 35-39. CareHPV performed similarly well in the three age groups., Conclusion: Based on the results of our study, Uyghur women in Xinjiang should be recommended to initiate cervical cancer screening at the age of 30 years when screened using careHPV., (© 2021 The Authors. Wild ruminants are at risk for zoonotic pathogen infection as a result of interactions with domestic animals and humans. One way to assess the level of a wild ruminant disease in a population is to determine the seroprevalence of the pathogen of interest. The objective of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of five zoonotic pathogens in wild ruminants in Xinjiang, Northwest China. In 2009 and 2011-2015, 258 wild ruminant sera samples were collected from various species. Samples were obtained from 30 Siberian ibexes, 94 goitered gazelles, 6 Tibetan antelopes, 32 argali sheep, 16 roe deer, 20 blue sheep, 56 red deer, and 4 wild yaks, in 10 regions of Xinjiang. Samples were tested using antibodies against Brucella spp ., Chlamydophila abortus , Coxiella burnetii , Toxoplasma gondii , and West Nile virus. Seropositivity was detected for all five pathogens, with detection rates of Brucella spp ., C. abortus , C. burnetii , T. gondii, and West Nile virus of 2.3% (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.5-4.2%), 6.2% (95% CI, 3.3-9.1%), 7.8% (95% CI, 4.5-11.0%), 2.3% (95% CI, 0.5-4.2%), and 0.8% (95% CI, 0-1.8%), respectively. The level of pathogens differed for different species and different regions. The results indicate that seropositivity to zoonotic pathogens is common among wild ruminants in Xinjiang, Northwest China, with C. burnetii and C. abortus detected at the highest levels. This study provides a baseline for future assessment of spillover events.

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine an appropriate follow-up schedule for human papillomavirus (HPV) detection by evaluating the clearance time of HPV after treatment., Materials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 97 high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia 2-3) patients and 437 early invasive cervical cancer (CC) (stages Ia-IIa) patients who received radical surgery at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. Patient medical information, including personal information, pathological diagnosis, HPV infection status, and therapeutic methods, was obtained through the hospital's historical medical records management system. The clearance time of HPV was determined using Kaplan-Meier method analysis, and clearance time of HPV among different age groups, different grades, and different clinical stages were compared using the log-rank test., Results: The median clearance time of all patients was 10.4 months. The median clearance time was longer in HSIL patients than in early invasive CC patients (p < .05). No statistical significance was found among different HSIL grades, CC stages, or patient age groups (P > 0.05)., Conclusions: Delaying first posttreatment follow-up to 9 months in patients at high risk of noncompliance could potentially reduce burden of cost and repeated clinical visits. This follow-up approach could be consistently applied to all women regardless of age, severity, and extent of disease.

Aims: Cyclin dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) plays a crucial role in malignant tumor whereas less is reported in cervical cancer development. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of CDK6 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) polymorphisms on cervical cancer susceptibility among Uyghur females., Methods: The genotypes of the six CDK6 variants (rs8179, rs42032, rs42033, rs42034, rs42035, and rs42038) were identified among 306 cervical cancer cases and 310 healthy controls with the Agena MassARRAY platform. The associations of the candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with the cervical cancer risk were evaluated under genetic models using conditional logistic regression analysis. Bioinformatics analysis was performed for SNP function prediction with the online databases. The expression differences between tumor tissues and normal cervix samples were also examined by Real-time PCR., Results: CDK6 rs8179 and rs42033 were correlated to the decreased risk of cervical cancer in Uyghurs under the allele model (rs8179 and rs42033: OR = 0.60, 95% CI: 0.37-0.99, p = 0.043) and log-additive model (rs8179 and rs42033: OR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.38-1.00, p = 0.047). Rs8179, rs42032, and rs42033 were associated with susceptibility to high-grade cervical cancer in different genetic models as well (p < 0.05). Dataset-based analysis also uncovered the potential effects of these significant SNPs. In addition, aberrant expression of CDK6 were detected in cervical tumors., Conclusions: Our results suggested the relationships between CDK6 3'UTR polymorphisms and cervical cancer pathogenesis, and the involvement of CDK6 in cervical cancer development among Uyghur females., (© 2019 The Authors. Background: Cervical cancer incidence and mortality is high in Uyghur ethnics. Their life style and dietary habit were different from other ethnics living together. Study on the role of trace elements in HPV infection and cervical lesion of Uyghur minority is needed for future intervention and prevention work., Methods: In total, 833 Uyghur women were randomly selected from the screening site and hospital. The concentrations of the trace elements As, Fe, Cd, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mn, and Se were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy. Univariate analysis was performed with chi-squared test between the HPV-positive and HPV-negative groups and between the case group and the control group. Multivariate analysis was performed with logistic regression., Results: An As concentration ≥ 0.02 mg/kg was a risk factor for HPV infection (OR > 1, P < 0.05), and Ni concentration ≥ 0.1232 mg/kg and Se concentration ≥ 0.02 mg/kg were protective factors (OR < 1, P < 0.05). Concentrations of Fe ≥ 6.9153 mmol/L and As ≥0.02 mg/kg were risk factors for CIN2+ (OR > 1, P < 0.05), and concentrations of Ni ≥0.0965 mg/kg and Se ≥0.02 mg/kg were protective factors (OR < 1, P < 0.05)., Conclusions: Low serum concentrations of Se and Ni and a high serum concentration of As might be related to HPV infection and CIN2+ in Uyghur women in rural China.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the value of the Cervista human papillomavirus (HPV), Hybrid Capture 2 (HC-2), and careHPV tests in diagnosing cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 (CIN2) or worse in Xinjiang Uyghur women., Methods: Three high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) detection methods were studied on two different populations by different combination modes; a cytology specimen was obtained at the same time. An abnormal result of any test resulted in referral to colposcopy. Cervical biopsy was also performed., Results: In population 1, HR-HPV-positive rates were 57.6% and 54.3% as detected by HC-2 and Cervista, respectively; κ = 0.892 for consistency check of HC-2 and Cervista (p < .001). Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of HC-2 and Cervista was 0.744 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.664∼0.824, p < .001) and 0.786 (95% CI: 0.715∼0.858, p < .001), respectively, for diagnosing CIN2+. The A9 probe can detect six subtypes of HPV, including HPV16, HPV31, HPV33, HPV35, HPV52, and HPV58. If one or more of these subtypes are postitive, then A9 will be positive. A diagnosis of class A9 by the Cerevista test correlated with pathological interpretations (chi-square = 43.063, p < .001). In population 2, HR-HPV-positive rates were 40.1% and 34.4%, respectively, by HC-2 and careHPV; κ value was 0.779 for the two tests (p < .001). AUC of HC-2 was 0.895 (95% CI: 0.849∼0.940, p < .001), and careHPV was 0.841 (95% CI: 0.770∼0.899, p < .001) for diagnosing CIN2+., Conclusion: Good consistency was shown between HC-2 and Cervista tests and also between the HC-2 and careHPV tests. In the detection of CIN2+, Cervista showed better specificity than HC-2, and interpretation of the A9 subgroup showed high predicted value. The HC-2 test demonstrated better sensitivity than careHPV in detection of CIN2+. HC-2, Cervista, and careHPV may be applied as a triage test for visual inspection with acetic acid/Lugol's iodine-positive or ThinPrep cytologic test-positive women. Objective: To explore the association between LMNA gene mutation and familiar dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) (FDCM) and idiopathic DCM (IDCM) in Uygurs and Hans people in Xinjiang area., Methods: Peripheral blood samples were collected from 28 family member with FDCM and 123 sporadic patients with IDCM(56 Uygur patients and 67 Han patients), 80 Uygur and 80 Han people were chosen as normal controls. PCR was used to amplify the 12 exons of LMNA gene. The amplified products were sequenced and compared with the standard sequence in the NCBI to determine the mutation sites., Results: Transmission of the allele C and T of rs4641 was similar in Han FDCM patients. One new variation(c.1714C>T) located at exon 10 of LMNA gene was identified in 1 Han patient with IDCM, this mutation caused an amino acid substitution (R572C). In Uygurs people, rs553016 polymorphism was significant different between IDCM and control groups (P < 0.05). Logistic regression revealed that rs553016 was an independent risk factor for Uygurs patients with IDCM (OR = 3.178, P = 0.035)., Conclusions: LMNA rs4641 is not associated with FDCM of Hans people in Xinjiang while LMNA mutation is associated with IDCM and rs533106 polymorphism is an independent risk factor for Uygurs patients with IDCM.
