6. Comparison of Highly Conductive Natural and Synthetic Graphites for Electrodes in Perovskite Solar Cells

Abstract

In this work we compare seven different types of natural and synthetic graphite particles and examine how their integration into the cathode of carbon-based perovskite solar cells (C-PSCs) is influencing their opto-electronic properties. By combining x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and 4-point probe measurements we show that the differences in graphite crystallinity significantly affect the sheet resistance of the carbon-based cathode. The most conductive carbon-based film with an exceptional sheet resistance of 4 O/sq. have been produced from scaly graphite with the crystallite dimensions of La = 60.6 nm and Lc = 28.6 nm. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy further revealed that charge transfer resistance at the perovskite/carbon contact differ for each graphite type. Overall, the pyrolytic graphite was found to be the best compromise between high conductivity and low charge transfer resistance leading to least series resistance losses and a fill factor (FF) above 74% (in perovskite solar cells with area of 0.64 cm2). However, an overall efficient hole extraction and lower non-radiative charge recombination in C-PSCs with scaly graphite resulted in the highest average power conversion efficiency and a champion device reaching 14.63%. All the C-PSCs show exceptional moisture stability for 5,000 h under ambient condition, with a PCE decrease of less than 3%.

Abstract

Pretende-se realizar a exposição de um caso clínico, de um doente do sexo masculino, de 19 anos de idade, com o diagnóstico de S. CHARGE. As malformações venosas do osso temporal são raras, mas são um achado comum no Síndrome de CHARGE. Devido a um quadro de surdez neuro-sensorial progressiva à direita e cofose à esquerda (por agenésia do VIII par), tornou-se candidato para colocação de implante coclear aos 16 anos. Por contra-indicação absoluta para colocação do implante à esquerda, foi colocado o implante à direita, por abordagem suprameatal (devido a malformação venosa que impediu uma abordagem convencional). Não foram registadas complicações. Funcionalmente, o implante coclear permitiu a subida dos limiares tonais médios para 42 dB. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Abstract

The experimental basis and instrumentation for the Gekko XII laser fusion program developed at the Institute of Laser Engineering (ILE), Osaka University are presented. Many diagnostics are in use to evaluate the key parameters of target implosion in an extremely dense, short period region. In this paper, we describe the present status and future planning of these diagnostics, such as xray, radioactive, and reaction particle measurement, because of their importance for fuel ρR determination. Abstract

Direct catalytic enantioselective cross aldol-type reaction of an acetate surrogate was developed using Cu alkoxide−chiral phosphine complexes as catalysts. Chemoselective activation and deprotonation of the donor substrate (acetonitrile) by the soft metal alkoxide in a strongly donating solvent (HMPA) are key to success in this reaction. Useful chemical yields and promising enantioselectivities are produced using either DTBM-SEGPHOS or a tuned BIPHEP as a chiral ligand.

Abstract

A new entry in catalytic alkynylation of carbonyl compounds was developed in which dual activation of both soft nucleophiles (terminal alkynes) and hard electrophiles (aldehydes and ketones) is achieved using an indium(III) catalyst. Preliminary mechanistic studies using in situ IR and NMR spectroscopic analysis are also discussed.

Abstract

Contact sensitivity (CS) is a cutaneous T(h)1 response that is induced by skin painting with reactive hapten. In prior in vivo studies of CS, we showed that recombinant soluble alphabetaTCR (sTCR) acted non-specifically to protect CS-effector T cells from suppression, but no molecular mechanism was determined. In the current study, we employed an in vitro system to investigate the mechanism of how sTCR protect CS-effector T cells from suppression. Immune CS-effector cells and appropriate hapten-conjugated antigen-presenting cells (APC) were incubated together with down-regulatory culture supernatant produced by suppressive spleen cells from mice tolerized i.v. with specific hapten, which produced strong inhibition of IFN-gamma production by the CS-effector cells. Importantly, addition of two different sTCR, of unrelated specificity, reversed this down-regulation and thus restored IFN-gamma production. We found that the APC, and not the CS-effector T cells, were the locus of the sTCR-mediated protection and showed direct binding of sTCR to APC by flow cytometry. Further, addition of anti-IL-12 showed that sTCR protection was due to IL-12 induced by sTCR and released by the APC, and was confirmed by ELISA measurement of IL-12 induced in APC supernatants by sTCR incubation. These results indicated a possible new regulatory loop in which suppression was reversed by IL-12 derived from APC, following direct surface binding of sTCR, and enhanced by IFN-gamma production from the T(h)1 CS-effector cells.
