The operation and repair of locomotives is characterized by indicators that assess the quality of the repair and maintenance work performed. The article considers a new indicator that characterizes the quality of work of locomotive repair enterprises of service companies. The components of the equation are investigated and the procedure for calculating the coefficient of technical readiness is analyzed. It has been established that there is a time that is taken into account separately for the responsibility of the repair and maintenance company and is Administrative costs. In order to obtain a tool to increase the time spent by locomotives in working condition, it is offered to use simulation dynamic models. The main stages and results of constructing a simulation model of a typical technical inspection point for locomotives are considered. Dependent events were identified and the degree of influence was assessed. The conclusions are drawn that the current version of the simulation dynamic model can be considered a digital twin, because it is a digital copy of the existing physical process for loading the production section. During operation, numerous cases of electrical breakdown of the bearings of traction motors of ES2G trains were revealed. Damage to bearings due to electric current is expressed in increased noise and vibration during operation of TED. When current flows through the bearing, numerous craters are formed, which lead to a change in the structure of the metal, its destruction and formation of irregularities, which in turn leads to increased noise and vibrations. As measures to improve the operating conditions of the bearings, separate the working and protective grounding with cross-connection of power lines to current-carrying devices, and also introduce a circuit with a high-capacity capacitor in parallel with the protective grounding. Cross connection will reduce the voltage on the TED anchor bearings. Connecting the high-capacity capacitor will allow shunting the path of high-frequency interference through the bearings and thus reducing the magnitude of high-frequency currents through the armature bearings to values that do not cause electrical corrosion. The performance indicators of locomotives largely depend on what proportion of the operation takes place in modes close to the nominal. The use of asynchronous drive motors on electric locomotives allows operation with an efficiency in the range of the nominal value.
