Abstract

We report herein the acid-catalyzed regioselective remote heteroarylation and reductive alkylation of alkenes. Various alkenes, including mono-, di-, and tri-substituted alkenes and cyclic alkenes, are applicable to this reaction. This method exhibits broad substrate scope, high functional group tolerance and high atomic economy. In addition, both gram-scale synthesis and product transformations demonstrate the potential utility of this reaction. It also provides an efficient and novel pathway to establish the valuable framework of 1,1-diaryl alkanes. Further mechanistic studies suggested that TfOH in situ generated by Cu(OTf)2 and trace H2O catalyzed the alkene migration. Then, heteroarylation was conducted by Friedel–Crafts type alkylation. Abstract

A uniform nickel film could be coated on crown ether-modified carbon nanotubes (c-CNTs) by electroless deposition. The products CNT@Ni and c-CNT@Ni were oxidized and compressed into CNT@Ni@(NiOH)2 and c-CNT@Ni@(NiOH)2 discs, respectively. The areal and volumetric capacitances of CNT@Ni@(NiOH)2 and c-CNT@Ni@(NiOH)2 were compared and c-CNT@Ni@(NiOH)2 showed a lower resistance.

Abstract

Using dppe as the ligand, the Nickel‐catalyzed decarbonylative cycloaddition of benzofuran‐2,3‐diones with alkynes was established, and a variety of functional flavones were synthesized in 65–99% yields. Terminal alkynes with substituted phenyl groups and internal alkynes such as aryl acyl acetylenes and diphenylacetylenes are suitable for this reaction. Abstract

Suzuki cross coupling reactions between beta-bromotetramesitylporphyrins and aryl- and methylboronic acids were performed to synthesize sterically constrained beta-mono-, tetra-, and octasubstituted tetramesitylporphyrins of the type H2TMP(R)n where n = 1,4,8 and R = Me, Ar. The experiments, which used Pd(PPh3)4 as a catalyst, were carried out in anhydrous K2CO3 in toluene or toluene/THF solution at 90-100 degrees Celsius.

Abstract

A highly efficient chiral-bridged biphenyl diphosphine ligand [(R ax )-BuP] modified cationic palladium(II) catalyst system for the synthesis of optically active polyketone by stereoselective alternating copolymerization ofpropene and carbon monoxide is reported for the first time. The results show that [Pd(MeCN) 4 ][OTf] 2 is an excellent catalyst precursor in a mixed solvent of MeNO 2 -MeOH. The highest catalytic activity was found to be 221 g polymer/(g Pd·h). A chiral polyketone with molecular weight M n = 2.9 × 10 4 , polydispersity = 1.4, and molar optical rotation = +37° was afforded under optimized reaction conditions.
