Background. The researchers of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology have demonstrated that effect of balneotherapy at the Truskavets' Spa on the physical working capacity of both healthy rats and different categories of patients is ambiguous. It is shown that various variants of actotropic effects are accompanied by characteristic changes in a number of body parameters. The purpose of this study was to identify neuro-endocrine, hemodynamic and metabolic accompaniments of actotropic effects of balneotherapy in men with maladaptation. Material and methods. The object of observation were 34 men (aged 23÷70 years) with maladaptation against the background of chronic pyelonephtis in remission phase, who came for rehabilitation at the Truskavets' Spa. The object of study: PWC, hemodynamics, HRV, EEG, adaptation hormones, blood and urine metabolites. The survey was conducted twice: on admission and after 7-10 dais of rehabilitation. Results. The analysis of individual changes revealed that balneotherapy in 18 patients did not significantly affect the level of fitness. In 9 patients balneotherapy caused an increase in PWC150 (direct difference: 0.57±0.12 W/kg) while in the other 9 patients the level of fitness decreased (direct difference: -0.42±0.03 W/kg). Discriminant analysis revealed 24 variables as characteristic accompaniment of the three variants of actotropic effects of balneotherapy. Among them, 2 are hemodynamic, 13 are neural, which reflect the entropy of EEG and HRV as well as delta-, theta- and beta-rhythms, 2 are endocrine, and 7 are metabolic. Classification accuracy is 100%. Conclusion. The multivariate actotropic effects of balneofactors are due to their multivariate effects on neuro-endocrine regulation and metabolism, which, apparently, is determined by the peculiarities of the individual reactivity of the body. Background. The impact of the standard balneotherapeutic complex at Truskavets' Spa on physical performance in both rats and resort patients yielded mixed results. Previous research has indicated that the phytoadaptogen "Balm Truskavets" can mitigate the negative effects of Naftussya bioactive water on dynamic muscle performance in healthy rats and patients with post-radiation encephalopathy. This study aims to evaluate the potential of this phytocomposition to prevent unfavorable actotropic effects of Truskavets' Spa balneofactors on gastroenterologic patients. Material and methods. The study observed 40 former female athletes (aged 30÷76 years, body weight 55÷98 kg) with chronic cholecystitis in remission phase, undergoing rehabilitation at Truskavets' Spa. Parameters including PWC150, adaptation hormone levels, HRV, EEG, immunity, metabolism and gas discharge visualization (GDV) were recorded. Members of the control group received for two weeks standard balneotherapy: drinking of Naftussya bioactive water, application of Ozokerite, baths with mineral water, therapeutic physical education. Members of the main group additionally received a phytoadaptogen. Results. The analysis of individual changes revealed that normal levels of PWC in control group fell to the lower zone of the norm. Phytoadaptogen prevents PWC decrease. This is accompanied by the prevention of both a decrease in power spectral density (PSD) T4-θ EEG and VLF HRV, leukocytes level as well as area and symmetry of GDV, as well as an increase in vagal tone and entropy of HRV as well as a rightward shift in the symmetry of the virtual first Chakra of GDV. In addition, phytoadaptogen reverses balneotherapy-induced moderate decrease in the frequency of a-rhythm, PSD O1-β, sympathetic tone, serum levels of catecholamines, testosterone and IgG, activity of Na,K-ATPase of erythrocyte shadows as well as Energy of the first, third and fourth virtual Chakras. Phytoadaptogen potentiates the reduction of PSD P4-β, IgM and cholesterol as well as initiates the reduction of α-rhythm variability, PSD of α-rhythm in C3, C4, P4 and Fp2 loci, entropy in F4 locus as well as serum potassium while increasing in serum cortisol and calcitonin, blood B-lymphocytes levels as well as PSD Fp2-δ. Conclusion. The phytoadaptogen "Balm Truskavets'" prevents the adverse effect of the standard balneotherapeutic complex of the Truskavets' Spa on PWC by, apparently, its neuro-endocrine effects. Background. We have previously explored effects of Ukrainian phytocomposition “Balm Truskavets’” on parameters of neuro-endocrine-immune complex and biophotonics in humans with maladaptation. It is known that in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy the reaction to some stimuli is significantly changed, therefore it needs correction. The purpose of this study is to test the ability of this phytocomposition to amelioration the effects of standard balneotherapeutic complex in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy. Material and methods. The research was carried out through a retrospective analysis of the database of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology, which remained unpublished. The object of observation in 1997 were 19 men and 3 women with urate urolithiasis and chronic pyelonephritis who were exposed to pathogenic factors of the accident at the Chоrnobylian nuclear power plant during the liquidation of its consequences in 1986-87. The survey was conducted twice: on admission and after two weeks of rehabilitation in sanatorium “Perlyna Prykarpattya” (Truskavets’ Spa). 11 patients received standard balneotherapy while the other 11 patients additionally received the phytocomposition “Balm Truskavets’”. According to the protocol, blood pressure, routine hematological and biochemical blood parameters were determined. In addition, physical working capacity (PWC150) as well as EEG, heart rate variability (HRV) and immunity parameters were determined. Results. Standard balneotherapy increases the decreased level of T-helper lymphocytes, but further decreases the level of B-lymphocytes, glomerular filtration rate and PWC150, in combination with increased normal levels of blood creatinine and urea, as well as decreased levels of diastolic BP and heart rate. This is accompanied by a further increase in the sympathetic tone and the leveling of the increased of ULF band HRV as marker of level in the plasma of catecholamines and glucocorticoids. Additional use of phytocomposition limits the adverse effects of standard balneotherapy by modulating EEG and HRV parameters. Conclusion. Phytocomposition "Balm Truskavets'" by modulating the parameters of the nervous system limits the adverse effects of standard balneotherapy at the Truskavets’ Spa in patients with post-radiation encephalopathy.

Background. Ergometric physical working capacity (PWC) testing has a long tradition in occupational medicine for assessing whether a sufficiently high level of physical performance for coping with the daily work requirements is given. Physical performance and stress resistance of the body are considered one of the main objects of influence of adaptogens. The stress-limiting effect of bioactive Naftussya water known. Data on the influence of Naftussya on the muscular performance are ambiguous. We set ourselves the goal of comparing balneotherapy-induced individual changes in PWC with changes in some parameters of the nervous and immune systems, as well as erythron, hemostasis, and metabolism. Material and methods. The object of observation were 19 men and 3 women (age 26÷61 years, body weight 78÷100 kg) with urate urolithiasis and chronic pyelonephritis. The survey was conducted twice: on admission and after two weeks of rehabilitation at the Truskavets' Spa. Registered PWC150, parameters of HRV, EEG, immunity, phagocytosis, erythron, hemostasis and metabolism. Results. The analysis of individual changes revealed that in 45,5% patients reduced fitness was completely normalized, however, in 54,5% patients, the normal level of fitness fell to the lower zone of the norm. Discriminant analysis revealed 5 EEG parameters, VLF band HRV as well as plasma alanine aminotransferase and bactericidal capacity of monocytes of blood, the changes of which are characteristic (classification accuracy 100%) for alternative variants of actotropic effects of balneotherapy. Conclusion. The alternative response of fitness to balneofactors occurs within the framework of the functional-metabolic continuum and the neuro-immune complex. A decrease in fitness to the lower normal zone is accompanied by the normalization of the reduced bactericidal capacity of blood monocytes, so we interpret this decrease as a "physiological payment" for it. Background. The dramatic events of the Russian-Ukrainian war around the Chornobyl’ nuclear power plant (NPP) once again opened up the healed wound inflicted by radionuclides on the human body not only in Ukraine, but also in Belarus and the border regions of Russia. The drama of the situation was further intensified by the events surrounding the Zaporizhzhia NPP. This prompted us to turn to the archive of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology and process the results of research that, due to certain technical and ethical circumstances, remained unanalyzed. Material and methods. The cohort of observation in 1997 were 19 men and 3 women who were exposed to pathogenic factors of the accident at the Chоrnobylian nuclear power plant during the liquidation of its consequences in 1986. The subject of the study was EEG and HRV parameters. The survey was conducted twice - on admission and after two weeks of rehabilitation at the Truskavets’ Spa. Results. Screening of the registered parameters revealed a pronounced sympathotonic shift of the autonomic balance, as well as a statistically significant deviation from the norm of 18 EEG parameters (increase in 8 and decrease in 10). Under the influence of two-week balneotherapy, 5 increased and 5 decreased EEG parameters normalized, but the remaining abnormal EEG and HRV parameters were resistant to the influence of balneofactors. Conclusion. Neurophysiological disorders, detected even 11 years after the effects of the factors of the Chornobyl’ disaster, differ both in severity and sensitivity to the sanogenic effect of the adaptogenic factors of the Truskavets’ Spa.

Background. We have previously discovered connections between the lithogenicity index of urine and a number of components of its composition. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the urine lithogenicity index and a number of metabolic components of plasma. Materials and Methods. Experiment was performed on 60 healthy old female Wistar rats 220-300 g. Ten animals remained intact, using daily water from drinking ad libitum. Other animals for 6 days were loaded through the tube with daily and various mineral waters at a dose of 1,5 mL/100 g of body mass. The day after the completion of the drinking course collected daily urine and estimate its lithogenicity. We determined plasma levels of electrolytes, nitric metabolites, glucose, amylase, cholesterol and lipids peroxidation parameters. Results. The lithogenicity of urine is upregulated by the plasma level of uric acid, bilirubin, potassium, malondialdehyde and catalase, but it is downregulated by calciumemia. The rate of determination of lithogenicity is 45,7%. Conclusion. Both lithogenic and litholytic factors are present in the plasma. This gives grounds for finding ways to correct lithogenicity.

Background. Previous studies of the Truskavetsian Scientific School of Balneology have studied the effects of course use of bioactive water Naftussya - the main therapeutic factor of the spa - on plasma levels of thyroid hormones in males and females healthy rats and women with thyroid hyperplasia. In men with chronic cholecystitis, the immediate thyrotropic effects of a single use of Naftussya water have been studied. The aim of this study is thyrotropic effects of balneotherapy in Truskavets’ spa and their endocrine, vegetative and metabolic accompaniments in men and women with chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 34 men (23-70 years) and 10 women (39-76 years), who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis in remission in the Truskavets’ spa. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 7-10-day course of balneotherapy. The main object of study was the plasma level of Triiodothyronine. We determined also content in plasma Cortisol, Aldosterone, Testosterone and Calcitonin as well as the parameters of the HRV and metabolism. Results. We find in 16 patients (12 men and 4 women) inhibitory thyrotropic effect, in 22 (16 men and 6 women) neutral, and in 6 men only – enhancing effect of balneotherapy. Each variant of the thyrotropic effect is accompanied by characteristic changes in testosteronemia, calcitoninemia, parathyroid activity, Heart Rate, Baevskiy’s Activity Regulatory Systems Index, HRV-markers of vagal tone, Calciemia as well as VLD and LD lipoproteins Cholesterol plasma. Conclusion. Our data confirmed and supplemented the provisions on the multivariate effects of balneotherapy in the spa of Truskavets’ on the endocrine and autonomic nervous systems and metabolism of patients.

Background. Earlier we showed that the newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters “Myroslava” (5 g/L) and “Khrystyna” (10 g/L) have favorable effects on neuroendocrine-immune complex and metabolism of patients with their violations. At the same time, the influence of both waters on one constellation of parameters is similar, despite the twofold difference in mineralization, while on the other constellation it is different. The aim of this study was to elucidate the neuroendocrine mechanism of specific effects. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 22 men aged 23-70 years, who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in remission in the Truskavets’ spa. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 7-10-day course of balneotherapy. All patients received bioactive water Naftussya, however, 11 men additionally drank water "Khrystyna", and the other 11 men - water "Myroslava". The subject of the study were the parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex and metabolism. Results. The method of canonical analysis shows that the changes in neuroendocrine factors (LF and VLF bands HRV; beta- and delta-rhythm-generating nerve structures, cortisol and aldosterone determine changes in the parameters of immunity, microbiota, metabolism and cholekinetics by 99,5-98,6%. Conclusion. The primary effects of mineral waters are the modulation of the activity of the structures of the central and autonomic nervous and endocrine systems, which, in turn, have a regulatory modulating effect on the immune system, microbiota, metabolism, cholekinetics and blood pressure.

Background. Earlier we found effects on the neuroendocrine-immune complex and metabolism, which are common to the mineral waters "Myroslava" and "Khrystyna", instead different from the effects of Naftussya water. The purpose of this article is to find the specific effects of these waters. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 22 men aged 23-70 years, who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis in remission in the Truskavets’ spa. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 7-10-day course of balneotherapy. Half of the patients received bioactive water Naftussya and sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium mineral water "Myroslava" (M 5 g/L), and the other half - Naftussya and "Khrystyna" (M 10 g/L). The subject of the study were the parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex, microbiota, cholekinetics and metabolism. Results. Screening revealed specific changes in 37 parameters grouped into 5 patterns. The first pattern combines 11 parameters that decrease under the influence of "Myroslava" water (Myr), while increase under the influence of "Khrystyna" water (Khr). For the other 7 parameters of the second pattern, Myr acts similarly, while Khr is ineffective. Both mineral waters have a stimulating effect on 8 parameters, while Myr is inferior to Khr. Myr has a upregulating effect on 9 parameters of the fourth pattern, while Khr has a downregulating effect. Finally, sodium excretion and leukocyturia are reduced under the influence of both waters, but to a greater extent under the influence of Khr. Conclusion. The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets’ spa have both common and specific favorable modulating neuroendocrine, metabolic and immune effects on patients with chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis.

Background. Earlier in an experiment on rats we showed that newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters "Myroslava" and "Khrystyna" of Truskavets’ spa has a significant modulating effects on the parameters of metabolism and the autonomic nervous, endocrine and immune systems. Adhering to the principle "Ex experimento ad clinic", we continued research in this direction with the participation of patients of the resort. We showed that these mineral waters have favorable effects on metabolic, HRVs, EEGs, endocrine and immune parameters. This article presents an integrated assessment of previously identified effects. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 34 men aged 23-70 years, who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis in remission in the Truskavets’ spa. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 7-10-day course of balneotherapy. All patients received bioactive water Naftussya, however, 11 men additionally drank water "Khrystyna", and the other 11 men water "Myroslava". The subject of the study were the parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex and metabolism. Results. The complex balneotherapy by interval use of sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium mineral waters with Naftusya water causes significant changes in the constellation of EEGs, HRVs, endocrine, metabolic and immune parameters, which are different from the effects of Naftusya water monotherapy. Own effects of mineral waters are estimated by modeling. In general, the effects are physiologically favorable and have a normalizing nature. Conclusion. The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets’ spa have favorable neuroendocrine, metabolic and immune effects on patients with chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis.

Background. Earlier in experiments on rats, it was shown that drinking mineral water, regardless of their mineralization and chemical composition, have similar (nonspecific) course effects on a number of parameters of metabolism and neuroendocrine-immune complex. The aim of this study is to identify such parameters in patients of Truskavets’ spa who received complex drinking balneotherapy. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 34 men aged 23-70 years, who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis in remission. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 7-10-day course of balneotherapy. All patients received bioactive water Naftussya, therewith, 11 men additionally drank sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium water "Khrystyna" (5 g/L), and the other 11 men - water "Myroslava" with a similar chemical composition, but twice the mineralization. The object of the study were the parameters of the electroencephalogram, heart rate variability (HRV), hormones, metabolism, immunity, microbiota and cholekinetics. Results. The complex balneotherapy by interval use of Naftussya water with sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium mineral waters causes similar significant changes in the constellation of 10 EEGs, 10 metabolic, 10 microbiota and 4 immune parameters as well as total power and entropy of HRV, calcitonin and testosterone plasma levels and cholecystokinetics activity index. Conclusion. Balneofactors of Truskavets’ spa causes non-specific modulating effects on parameters of neuroendocrine regulation, metabolism, immunity, microbiota and cholekinetics in patients with chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis.

Background. Earlier we studied the neural, endocrine, and metabolic accompaniments of quantitative-qualitative blood pressure (BP) clusters of profile patients of Truskavets’ spa. The purpose of this study is to clarify the immune accompaniment in the same contingent. Materials and methods. Under an observations were 44 patients with chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in the phase of remission. Testing was performed twice - on admission and after 7-10 days of standard balneotherapy. The main object of the study was BP. We determined in the blood the relative content of leukocyte forms, of T-lymphocytes and their killer, helper and regulatory subpopulations as well as NK- and B-lymphocytes; in serum - the concentration of C-reactive protein, Tumor Necrosis Factor-α, Interleukins 1β and 6, immunoglobulins classes G, A, and M as well as circulating immune complexes; in saliva - IgG, IgA, and secretory IgA. In addition, we determined parameters of phagocytosis by neutrophils of Staph. aureus and E. coli; components of stool and urine microbiota. Results. The forward stepwise program identified 18 parameters as characteristic of quantitative-qualitative blood pressure clusters. In addition to BP parameters by default, the most informative among them are serum levels of IL-6 and TNF-α as well as activity and intensity of phagocytosis by neutrophils of Staph. aureus. The accuracy of patient classification is 96,6%. Conclusion. The quantitative-qualitative blood pressure clusters have a characteristic immune accompaniment.

All patients received bioactive water Naftussya, however, 11 men additionally drank water "Khrystyna", and the other 11 men - water "Myroslava". The subject of the study were the parameters of the electroencephalogram. Results. The complex balneotherapy by interval use of sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium mineral waters with Naftussya water causes significant changes in the constellation of EEG parameters, which are different from the effects of Naftussya water monotherapy. Own effects of mineral waters are estimated by modeling. Two patterns of neurotropic effects have been identified - activating and inhibitory. In general, the neuromodulating effects are physiologically favorable. Conclusion. The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets’ spa have favorable neuromodulating effects on patients with chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis.

The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets resort have favorable neuroendocrine, metabolic and immune effects on patients with chronic cholecystitis and pyelonephritis.

Background. Earlier, we found relationships between EEG/HRV parameters and plasma/ urine electrolytes concentration in Truskavets’ spa patients. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationships between changes in these parameters under the influence of balneotherapy. Materials and Methods. The object of observation were 22 men (23-70 years), who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in remission. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 9-11-day course of balneotherapy. The object of the study were the parameters of the EEG and exchange of electrolytes and nitric metabolites. Results. Judging by the coefficient of determination, changes in the concentrations of electrolytes and nitric metabolites in the urine and plasma are mediated by changes in neurodynamics by 99,8 % and 99,4% respectively. Conclusion. Balneotherapy affects the exchange of electrolytes and nitrogen metabolites through the CNS.

Background. Despite the long history, the results of studies of the impact of balneotherapy in the resort of Truskavets on the lithogenicity of urine are ambiguous, so the topic remains relevant. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the lithogenicity index of urine and a number of components of its composition. Materials and Methods. Experiment was performed on 60 healthy old female Wistar rats 220-300 g. Ten animals remained intact, using daily water from drinking ad libitum. Other animals for 6 days were loaded through the tube with daily and various mineral waters at a dose of 1,5 mL/100 g of body mass. The day after the completion of the drinking course collected daily urine, which determined the content of a number of components of the composition. We calculated urine lithogenicity index (Lith) by the formula: Lith = (Uric acid•Calcium/Magnesium•Creatinine)0,25. Results. The most significant effect on the Lith is the concentration of magnesium (r=-0,730), followed by uric acid (r=0,583), calcium (r=0,352) and creatinine (r=-0,298). Medium molecular polypeptides, catalase, sodium, phosphates and urea has been identified as prolithogenic factors while tubular reabsorption of water as litholytic factor. The chemical composition of the fluids consumed by animals has little effect on the lithogenicity index of urine. Conclusion. Both prolithogenic and litholytic factors are present in the urine, which depend little on the chemical composition of the fluid used.

Background. Earlier we studied the autonomic and endocrine accompaniments of quantitative-qualitative blood pressure (BP) clusters of profile patients of Truskavets’ spa. The purpose of this study is to clarify the electroencephalographic accompaniment in the same contingent. Materials and methods. Under an observations were 44 patients with chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in the phase of remission. Testing was performed twice - on admission and after 7-10 days of standard balneotherapy. The main object of the study was BP (tonometer “Omron M4-I”, Netherlands). EEG recorded a hardware-software complex “NeuroCom Standard” (KhAI Medica, Ukraine) monopolar in 16 loci. Results. The forward stepwise program identified 30 parameters as characteristic of quantitative-qualitative blood pressure clusters. In addition to BP parameters by default, 5 entropy parameters, 4 delta-rhythm, 6 theta-rhythm, 6 alpha-rhythm and 7 beta-rhythm parameters are included in the discriminant model. The most informative among them are PSD of beta-rhythm in C3 and C4 loci; alpha-rhythm in T4 and F3 loci; delta-rhythm in C3, T5 and P3 loci as well as its deviation. The accuracy of classification is 100%. Conclusion. The wide range of blood pressure - from low norm to arterial hypertension II - is accompanied by characteristic EEG conditions.

Background. Earlier we found that the newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets’ spa have similar neuroendocrine and metabolic effects on healthy old female rats significantly different from daily water. The aim of this study is to elucidate the effects of these mineral waters on the neuroendocrine status and metabolism of these animals. Materials and Methods. Experiment was performed on 50 healthy female Wistar rats. Animals of the first group remained intact, using tap water from drinking ad libitum. Rats of the control group for 6 days injected a tap water through the tube at a dose of 1,5 mL/100 g of body mass. The rats of the main groups received the water "Myroslava" and "Khrystyna". The day after the completion of the drinking course in all rats, at first, assessed the state of autonomous regulation by parameters of the HRV. The plasma levels of the hormones of adaptation were determined: corticosterone, triiodothyronine and testosterone (by the ELISA) as well as electrolytes: calcium, magnesium, phosphates, chloride, sodium and potassium; nitric metabolites: creatinine, urea, uric acid, medium molecular polypeptides, bilirubin; lipid peroxidation products and antioxidant enzymes, as well as cholesterol, amylase and glucose. Most of the listed parameters of metabolism were also determined in daily urine. In the adrenals the thickness of glomerular, fascicular, reticular and medullar zones was measured. Results. To identify exactly those parameters, the set of which all four groups of animals differ significantly from each other, the information field of the registered parameters was subjected to discriminant analysis. The program included in the model 8 endocrine and 16 metabolic parameters, information about which is condensed into three roots. The first root reflects directly the SOD and corticosterone and inversely the reticular zone as well as plasma uric acid and glucose. The second root contains information about Nap/Kp ratio, natrihistia, amylasemia, magnesiumuria as well as inversely about kaliemia. The third root reflects directly the triiodothyronine, parathyroid activity, plasma Ca, natriuria and chloriduria as well as urine malondyaldehide. Inversely displays the root information about the testosterone, Ku/Nau ratio, glomerular zone, plasma katalase and Na as well as uricosuria and amylasuria. In the information space of the three discriminant roots, all four groups are quite clearly distinguished. Classification accuracy is 94% (three errors). Conclusion. The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets resort have specific endocrine and metabolic effects on healthy old female rats with weekly use. This provides a basis for preclinical studies.

The plasma levels of the hormones of adaptation were determined: corticosterone, triiodothyronine and testosterone (by the ELISA); as well as electrolytes, nitric metabolites, lipid peroxidation products and antioxidant enzymes as well as cholesterol, glucose, amylase and middle mass molecules. Most of the listed parameters of metabolism as well as 17-ketosteroids were determined in daily urine. In the adrenal glands the thickness of glomerular, fascicular, reticular and medullar zones was measured. Results. To identify exactly those parameters, the set of which three groups of animals differ significantly from each other, the information field of the registered parameters was subjected to discriminant analysis. The program included in the model 6 endocrine and 11 metabolic parameters, as well as glomerular filtration. Conclusion. The newly created sulfate-chloride sodium-magnesium drinking mineral waters of Truskavets’ spa have similar neuroendocrine and metabolic effects on healthy old female rats significantly different from daily water.

Background. Earlier we showed that the balneotherapeutic complex of Truskavets’ spa have significant modulating effects on parameters of EEG&HRV and Immunity of patients with chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in remission accompanied of neuroendocrine-immune complex dysfunction. Were detected the close relationships between EEG, HRV, endocrine and immune parameters as well as between changes in EEG&HRV and immune parameters under the influence of balneotherapy. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationships between changes in the state of neuroendocrine regulation and immunity of the same patients. Materials and Methods. The object of clinical-physiological observation were 22 men aged 23-70 years, who underwent rehabilitation treatment of chronic pyelonephritis and cholecystitis in remission in the Truskavets’ spa. The examination was performed twice, before and after a 9-11-day course of balneotherapy. The subject of the study were the parameters of the electroencephalogram, heart rate variability, hormones and immunity. Results. The method of canonical correlation analysis states that the changes in immunity caused by balneotherapy are determined by the constellation of alaptation hormones by 98,9%, the autonomic nervous system by 99,9%, the central nervous system by 99,7%. Conclusion. Immunomodulatory effect of balneotherapy is realized through the neuro-endocrine mechanism.
