The article is dedicated to the issue of author’s improvement of a syntax structure of a complex sentence in scientific articles by I. Franko. The author of the article analyzes the changes and corrections made by Ivan Franko during the reprinting of his scientific works. The author’s transformations in the construction of a complex sentence and in the system of conjunctions that combine parts of hypotactic and paratactic structures are investigated.

We discuss several continuum cell-cell adhesion models based on the underlying microscopic assump-tions. We propose an improvement on these models leading to sharp fronts and intermingling invasionfronts between different cell type populations. The model is based on basic inciples of localizedrepulsion and nonlocal attraction due to adhesion forces at the microscopic level. The new model isable to capture both qualitatively and quantitatively experiments by Katsunuma et al. (2016) [J. CellBiol. 212(5), pp. 561–575]. We also review some of the applications of these models in other areas oftissue growth in developmental biology. We finally explore the resulting qualitative behavior due tocell-cell repulsion.

In research the author highlights the ways of forming and peculiarities of functioning of scientific subtype of the standard Ukrainian language within a very important period of its development – the second half of the XIX century, elucidates Ivan Franko’s contribution to elaborating scientific style of the Ukrainian language: in forming scientific terminology and in development of syntactic structure within the complex sentence system.
