Abstract

The Brahmaputra mainly flows through three countries China, India, and Bangladesh. It has been a source of conflict for the involved nations due to the intricacies of transboundary water management such as the power play between upper and lower riparian countries, the lack of comprehensive bilateral or multilateral cooperation policies, and the correlation of water conflicts with territorial disputes. Each countrys means of safeguarding its resources through the construction of dams and hydroelectric power projects affect the other States. These conflicts have led to adverse consequences like flooding, withholding of important meteorological data, and potential diversion of river water. This paper examines the implications of these measures on the national interests of the countries involved with respect to their national security, water security, economic development, and ecological stability. The paper has chosen to analyze these implications drawing precedence from the case studies of the Danube River and the Aswan Dam on the Nile River to deduce commonalities with the transboundary water conflict at hand. 31. Scholarly Research Trends of State Universities of Gujarat: A bibliometric Study

Abstract

The paper is describing bibliometric analysis of research publications of six state government universities of Gujarat during the year 2015-2019 indexed in SCOPUS database. The study exploring the various aspects of bibliometric analysis i.e. Number of publications and citation of the universities, the most productive author, the most productive publication source, the most preferred type of publication, the highest cited paper, and authorship pattern of 3825 bibliographic records. Analysis of the study is helpful to understand research output of the universities and which university has to do more effort to promote research activities and need to focus more on research productivity.

Abstract

Acharya Sushruta father of ancient surgery has described Ashtvidh Shastra Karma (8 surgical procedures) in Sushruta Samhita they are as follows Chedana (Excision), Bhedna (Incision), Lekhana (Scraping), Vedhan (Puncturing), Eshan (Probing), Visravan (Evacuating), Seevan (Suturing), Aharay (Extraction) . Among Ashtvidh Shastra Karma, Seevan Karma (Suturing) is primarily important. Acharyas described Seevan Dravyas which are required for Seevan Karma i.e. Seevan Sutra and Seevan Suchi. For the purpose of proper wound healing good surgical practice should be applied and for proper suturing one should practice it with ideal techniques. It gives better result for wound healing. Basics of suturing which he described years back are still followed. Ayurvedic acharyas was very well known to the methods of suturing and its importance in practice and described well in various classical literature of Ayurveda. In modern day surgical practices, we all follow the same principle without change. Surgical suture is a medical device used to hold body tissues together after an injury or surgery. Suturing is the closuring technique of surgical as well as the traumatic wound and also final step of every surgical procedure. Sutures are used by your doctor to close wounds to your skin or other tissues.

Abstract

In ancient Ayurveda, skin disorders are vastly described under ‘kushth rog’. Generally, it is also called twak dosha and kushth rog is further divide into two categories e.g. mahakushth and kshudra kushth. It is mentioned that due to pitta pradoshaj vikar and rakt pradoshaj vikar, skin diseases arise. Some acharya considered it as result of sin deeds as well. Acharya Charak, has described it as a rakt pradoshaj vikar and Sushruta has described it as an ‘Aupsargik Vyadhi’. In our classical texts there is clearly mentioned the etio pathogenesis like sapta dravyas, vata, pitta, kapha, twacha, rakta, ambu/ lasika, mansa they all together manifest the wide range of skin disorder, classification, clinical features and management etc. Due to modified life style, lack of physical exercise, mental stress, over eating, nutrition deficiency skin diseases are commonly observed. In worldwide, there is 1/3 leprosy cases found in India. WHO and govt. of India have also run various programs to prevent this, the National Leprosy control program was dispatched by the Govt. of India in 1955. It can be treated in the early stage by using of herbs, Ayurvedic formulations, detoxification process (panchkarma) etc.
