Work on this article was motivated by a speech given by the British Queen on April 5
th , 2020, A Rare Public Address Concerning the Ongoing Pandemic. The speech was infused with virtue terms. Using investigator and data-source triangulation, the authors juxtapose Queen Elizabeth II's speech with two similarly motivated speeches by Chinese President Xi and Chilean President Piñera. As these three heads of state represent different socio-political cultures, it is academically interesting to explore (i) to what extent their speeches reflect universal versus local values/virtues and (ii) how their selection of virtues fits into current taxonomies of positive character traits. This article aims to make a contribution to the proverbial universalism versus relativism debate about morality and human values, as well as to the discourse on neo-Aristotelian character education and the psychological discourse on recovering an apt virtue terminology as a task that each of us needs to pursue in our endeavour to understand everyday virtue talk. This study aims to investigate the impact of fatherlessness on the psychological development of children from commuter marriage families. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subject of this study is an 8-year-old child. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observations, and psychological tests. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data's validity is tested using source triangulation techniques. Based on the research results, the impact of fatherlessness on the psychological development of the child shows that: S does not get quality time with his father to engage in play activities because the father works out of town and returns only once a year. S's father verbally abuses his wife, indicating the loss of the father's role as a source of love and protection from harm. S's father makes rules and decisions within the house without first consulting his wife and children. Every decision made by the father must be followed by the mother and children, or else the father becomes angry. S's father believes that raising and educating children is solely the mother's responsibility, and a husband's role is only to provide for the family financially. S's mother is unable to establish the father's presence in the children's lives. S has difficulty following lessons at school and adapting to school life, as he always needs to be accompanied by his mother. When playing, S only interacts with close friends he already knows. In Australia, student-athletes accounted for approximately 60% of the medals won in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. Despite this success, little research has looked into how student-athlete pathway programs are communicated to support student-athletes. Drawing from the contemporary marketing lens of transformative-services research (TSR), this study explored how universities can communicate student-athlete pathway programs as a transformative service with a focus on student-athlete well-being. To achieve the aim, a content analysis of universities' sport Web pages (N = 38) was conducted. Triangulation of findings with extant literature from the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia indicated considerable scope for advancing communication of student-athlete pathway programs focused on well-being underpinned by TSR. Specifically, the theoretical TSR lens provides a foundation for focusing communication on attributes and services associated with well-being established as important in supporting student-athlete programs in higher education, providing novel practical insight to establish a pathway in sport systems of Australia and other countries. Service Recovery (SR) processes are difficult for many public services providers because they do not engage customers and have no influence over what they want or anticipate. Customer opinions of customer retention and service recovery (SR) efforts can be greatly influenced by the way their complaints are handled. This study deconstructs theoretical frameworks and examines the viability of SR procedures in public services delivery companies. Focus groups, semi-structured interviews, and online surveys were undertaken to gather information from customers of well-known public airlines and banks. The findings suggest that SR processes need to be revised to better equip workers with the knowledge and tools they need to pinpoint the root causes of public services disruption, and to meet the expectations of customers during each stage of service failure. In addition, analysis suggests that identifying the source of the public services failure issues seems to be a crucial first step in understanding what causes failure. When a problem is identified, the actions that must be taken in order to prevent a recurrence become clearer. These actions include decisions about what reasonable recompense to provide customers to protect both customer loyalty and brand reputation. Several factors were identified in this study as having a significant impact on the success of public banking institutions' SR processes. This included customer participation, the reliability of feedback, the credibility of improvements, the speed with which improvements are implemented, and the sincerity of apologies. The purpose of this research is to provide a theoretical framework to enhance the value of SR procedures inside banking institutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There has been increasing use of comic-based approaches within qualitative research as part of an increase in creative and visual methods more generally within social science research. However, whilst increasingly prevalent in dissemination, their use within data collection is less common. This paper examines the dual use of a comic-based approach embedded within a study that explored widening participation in higher education. Initially developed for the triangulation of emergent research findings with a wider group of participants, a comic panel was developed to be used as a focus of discussions within a workshop with 11 practitioners. This was then further developed for wider dissemination and to create a space for dialogue and to engage wider publics with the study's recommendations. Both uses are critically examined, highlighting the affordances of comic-based approaches such as their capacity for supporting dissemination to a wider audience by distilling the findings and presenting them in an engaging way. Furthermore, it argues that the form can allow for creating points of ambiguity that create spaces for the audience to challenge and question taken for granted assumptions on a topic. The paper also sets out possible challenges such the need for specialist skills, the potential for oversimplification and misrepresentation of complex issues. This paper argues that with careful planning, comic-based approaches can add significant value and increase engagement with research. Finally, it offers suggestions for how this approach could be developed by future researchers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Marie Nimier's recent fiction highlights the importance of natural ecology in the fictional protagonist's search for self and for reparations with the past. In La Plage (2016), the juxtaposition of the Anthropocene's disastrous destruction of nature with the emotional catastrophes of a heroine known to the reader simply as "l'inconnue" provides the background for a story of healing and redemption. Among the many aspects of the text that metaphorize its subject—the search for a new language, the return to a metaphorical Garden of Eden of childhood, reassemblages of relationships in the past and present—, is that of the protagonist's emergence as a "terrestrial" in Bruno Latour's sense of the word, that is, as part of a network of actors engaged in saving the planet. Through a process of deterritorialization on the "plage," equated with the "page," she discovers a renewed, hopeful language and a belief in love. A story of re-writing, re-living, and re-building one's memories in and with nature leads to a regeneration of the human belief in a future for the planet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Number of Covid-19 Cases in South Sulawesi Province as of August 1, 2020, from 24 regencies/cities, Palopo city was listed in 16th place with 58 confirmed positive cases. Covid-19 cases are classified as low, but the city of Palopo is set to enter the red zone because it has a CFR of 5.7 percent, while the national set should be 4.8 percent. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Covid-19 prevention program in Palopo City through the criteria Health care system. This research is qualitative research with an instrumental case study approach. This study uses a formative evaluation method intended to monitor program progress during the program, to provide feedback for program improvement and refinement. There were 8 informants divided into 2, namely 6 key informants and 2 additional informants. The data collection techniques used in this study were in-depth interviews, observation techniques, and document techniques. Researchers use triangulation to obtain highlevel truths if approached from various points of view, the triangulation done is data sources, triangulation of theories, and triangulation of methods. The results of research to assess the success of prevention through health service system criteria show that the health system is sufficiently capable of detecting cases of Covid-19 which may return to increase. It is hoped that all health facilities will continue to carry out screening at every entrance to prevent infection at the health facilities and the government will form a special team to provide continuous education to the public about covid-19. This study aims to explore all the types of students' mental models of number patterns. The study used a qualitative approach with an explorative type. The subjects used to characterize the student's mental models in this study were 46 eighth grade students in Indonesia. To reveal the subjects' mental model, they were asked to solve the number pattern problem and were interviewed. For ensuring the validity and reliability of the research results, triangulation technique was used by comparing the results of video recording interviews and written test results. The study showed that in solving the problem of number patterns given, there were 4 types of mental models. They were formal direct mental model, formal indirect mental model, synthetic direct mental model, and synthetic indirect mental model. What we found in this study shows that some students have different mental models to solve the problem. Hence, in future teachers must introduce various strategies to solve the problem and conduct learning that can enrich students' mental models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research is a qualitative study of the spiritual needs and practice of chronically ill children and their families in the Isan region of Thailand. The purposive sampling was 17 chronically ill children aged 10–18 years old and primary caregivers. Three instruments were used: a questionnaire, in-depth interview with questions adapted from the Spiritual Assessment Scale (SAS) by O'Brien, and non-participant observation. Field note-taking and voice recordings were used for data recording. Triangulation was used before analysis to test for credibility. Content analysis and thematic analysis techniques were used for data analysis. The five specific themes were stated by both children and caregivers. In addition, the spiritual needs and practice identified in this study were strongly related to Buddhism. All children and caregivers respected and believed in Buddha, and so Buddhism and Thai Isan traditions were crucial to their spiritual needs and were reflected in their religious practice. In a small pilot study, 31 interviewees, including 12 parenting coordinators, 11 mothers, and 8 fathers representing 14 different parenting coordination cases retrospectively described child and family functioning both pre‐ and post‐parenting coordination in phone interviews. They also detailed how often and how well different issues that arose during the parenting coordination work (acrimony, problem‐solving communication, triangulation of the child into the conflict) were actively addressed. Parties tended to view coparenting more positively when reflecting on post‐ compared with pre‐intervention, but reported less change in child adjustment. Discrepancy among same‐case informant reports was common. Parenting coordinators (PCs) consistently rated their interventions as more frequent and successful than did parents. Mothers and fathers largely disagreed on interventions they experienced. While this small N pilot can offer no definitive conclusions, it underscores need for research and wisdom in including both parents' perspectives. Key Points for the Family Court Community: Empirical study of the mechanisms and effectiveness of parenting coordination are urgently needed; parental perspectives have been overlooked in past parenting coordination research.Examining and comparing views of multiple parties within a given case spotlights differences in parent and PC views about parenting coordination effectiveness. When reflecting on adjustment before and after parenting coordination, parties rate some facets of coparenting better post‐ than pre‐parenting coordination, but see little change in child adjustment.PCs typically rate effectiveness more highly than parents, and parents largely disagree with one another and/or with PCs on effectiveness of interventions.Nearly all parties say a focus on child‐centered team‐building would have been helpful. BACKGROUND: Recent changes in psychiatric care and teaching that limit patient contact for medical students can be overcome in part by simulation-based education. Understanding the learning processes of medical students involved in psychiatric simulation-based programmes could usefully inform efforts to improve this teaching. This study explored the learning processes of medical students the first time they role-play in psychiatry.METHODS: We used constructivist grounded theory to analyse semi-structured interviews of 13 purposively sampled medical students and the six psychiatrists who trained them. To improve the triangulation process, the results of this analysis were compared with those of the analyses of the role-play video and the debriefing audio-tapes.RESULTS: Five organising themes emerged: improving the students' immediate perception of patients with mental disorders; cultivating clinical reasoning; managing affect; enhancing skills and attitudes and fostering involvement in learning psychiatry.CONCLUSION: Results suggest that psychiatric role-playing can improve students' progressive understanding of psychiatry through the development of intuition and by allaying affects. Emotional elaboration and student involvement appear to be key features.

The objective of this study is to analyse different models of educational support that are used in schools with public funding from the perspective of support teachers, counsellors and members of management teams. Participants were 79 professionals from the three areas mentioned above. The methodological approach was a phenomenological qualitative one using focus groups and subsequent qualitative analysis of the data. The systems of categories and subcategories underwent a progressive process of triangulation. The results show that professionals identify support practices that can be divided into two differentiated models: a traditional model linked to a medical perspective of providing personal support to the most vulnerable students and a support model consistent with inclusive education. There are also discrepancies among professionals, especially about the need for support to be provided within the reference classroom. The discussion focuses on identifying essential aspects, to more effectively support students and teachers in an ordinary school context. In addition, professionals question the regulations for their disconnection from the reality they experience in schools. All this requires a rethinking of the functions of support teachers supported by careful initial and ongoing training. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to examine emotional regulation in mothers who have children with schizophrenia. Impaired psychological conditions result in negative emotions in the mother, so the ability to regulate positive emotions is needed. This study uses a case study approach. Primary informants consisting of 5 mothers who had children with schizophrenia and secondary informants such as 1 husband, 3 children, and 1 sister of primary informants. Data credibility uses source triangulation techniques which means comparing and checking the degree of trust of information obtained through different time and tools in qualitative research. Data analysis is carried out in the form of interactive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the five informants have different emotional regulation abilities. In the Strategies aspect informants W, R, E, S, and T ; they were feel sad, disappointed, angry, embarrassed and insecure about the condition of their child. In the Enganging aspect where informant T reduces anger by reflecting and staying silent in the room, informant A embraces his child so that the feeling becomes more calm, in informant E chooses to look for activities so as not to be carried away by feelings, while informant S just silences and accepts his child's condition. In the Control aspect where informants R and T, control feelings that occur by thinking about their child's recovery, in informant A choose to look for other activities, while informant E tells his parents and informant S turns attention to the others. In the Acceptance aspect, where informants W, R, E, and S can accept the condition of their child, while the informant T cannot accept the condition of their child. So from the results of the study concluded that mothers who have children with schizophrenia have positive or negative emotion regulation abilities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Physical educators seek ways to motivate students to engage in lifelong physical activity. Research demonstrates that autonomysupportive climates improve motor skills and competence in children. Although substantial research exists on the benefits of autonomysupportive climates on children's motor skills, little is known regarding the perceptions of the teachers and the children. We implemented two instructional climates--an autonomy-supportive climate (ASC) and a teacher-centered controlled (TCC) climate, both designed for learning motor skills--and asked children and teachers about their perceptions of the instructional approaches. Twenty-four children and four teachers participated. Data were collected qualitatively through informal interviews with children, in-depth interviews with teachers, and field observations. All researchers engaged in inductive data analysis and triangulation. The results suggest that children preferred the ASC over the TCC, found the ASC challenging, and thought the ASC facilitated independence and choice. These findings suggest an explanation for why earlier studies found positive learning outcomes in ASC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates the emergence of triangulation in teacher trainees’ research plans. The main objective of the research is to detect the inappropriate uses of triangulation to point out didactic aspects that can promote the efficiency of educators teaching research methodology. Participants in research methodology courses had to design and document a research process related to school or teaching in the form of a research plan. They had a free choice regarding the topic of the research. The coding of the text corpora amounting to 400 pages was done by combining deductive and inductive logic. The reliability of coding was ensured by intracoding. The results show that inappropriate uses of triangulation can be described as misuse of terminology, false equivalence of triangulation and methodological triangulation, and false equivalence of triangulation and mixed methods. The problems encountered have a double feedback function. First, they give feedback for the academic course, second, after drawing the conclusions they also serve as self-reflection to form education activities and thinking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Triangulation is an important subject in marriage and family therapy. Chinese family culture emphasizes consanguinity, which means that adult children have great difficulty separating from their original families and establishing clear boundaries. This results in the unique problem of family-of-origin triangulation in Chinese marriages. The current study explored the relationship between family-of-origin triangulation and the marital quality of Chinese couples, and examined the mediating role of in-law relationships. A total of 341 Chinese couples, ranging from newlyweds to those with school-aged children, participated in the survey. The results demonstrate that family-of-origin triangulation of both husbands and wives negatively predicted wives' marital quality, whereas husbands' marital quality was only predicted by their own family-of-origin triangulation. Moreover, family-of-origin triangulation not only predicted marital quality directly, but also indirectly by damaging the relationships with in-laws. The actor effects of family-of-origin triangulation were partially mediated by in-law relationships, whereas the partner effects of husbands' triangulation on wives' marital quality was fully mediated by in-law relationships. Family therapists in China should pay more attention to intergenerational relationships and reestablishing the sub-system boundaries of husband and wife, and at the same time, focus on repairing the couple's relationships with the in-laws. Background Although there is high-level evidence supporting positive perinatal outcomes for midwifery group practice (MGP) care, not all women can access this model due to a failure to implement or sustain it. The way that MGPs are managed could be an important factor in whether they are successful in the long-term. Aim To explore what determines optimal management of MGP in Australia, and the influence it has on sustainability of MGP. Methods Interviews were conducted with MGP midwives (n = 8). Transcriptions of the audio recordings were analysed thematically and lexically for triangulation. Findings Following a thematic analysis of the data, an over-arching theme emerged – namely — being valued and supported, with three sub-themes: a nice little sweet spot, someone to stand up for you, and building relationships and support beyond the model. This revealed that value and support by all stakeholders, including the midwives themselves, was necessary to sustain an MGP. The lexical analysis revealed the themes: support, the system, and the caseload. This analysis highlighted the importance of the system – specifically, the impact of the institution on how MGP is operationalised. Conclusion For MGP to be sustained in Australia, it needs to be prioritised, nurtured, and embraced by the whole maternity care system. Management plays an important role in ensuring the right people are employed to pivotal positions and that midwifery-led models of care are valued and supported throughout the system.

Purpose Consultation is crucial for patient care and a primary responsibility of fellows. Understanding the cognitive load associated with the complex skill of consultation would enhance fellow learning. The authors aimed to determine themes describing the fellow experience during inpatient consults specifically, align these themes with Consult Cognitive Load (CCL) scores, and identify strategies to manage cognitive load to enhance fellow education and performance, and, consequently, patient care. Method The authors studied 16 fellows using mixed methods. Fellows who accepted an invitation completed an inpatient consult followed by the CCL, a measure of cognitive load during consults, and an interview. Three authors conducted a thematic analysis. Member checks and triangulation supported theme trustworthiness. Subsequently, 3 authors rated the extent and cognitive demand of each theme expressed in each transcript. The authors measured interrater reliability and used Spearman correlation to describe the association of these ratings with CCL scores. The authors examined themes to identify strategies that educators might use. Results Analysis revealed four themes: "nature and scope," which conceptually aligned with intrinsic cognitive load (IL); "leveraging resources," which had elements of both IL and extraneous cognitive load (EL); "extraneous factors," which aligned with EL; and "drivers," which aligned with germane cognitive load (GL). Interrater reliability for extent and demand ratings ranged from 0.57 to 0.79. The correlation between "nature and scope" and IL was 0.37, "extraneous factors" and EL 0.71, and "drivers" and GL 0.32. "Leveraging resources" did not correlate with IL (0.06) or EL (-0.09). Potential strategies based on themes included offering level-appropriate assistance to match IL, focusing the fellow's attention to reduce EL, and providing succinct teaching to promote GL. Conclusions This study provided deep insight into the fellow consult experience and suggested strategies for educators to guide consult learning. The theme "leveraging resources" merits further exploration.

This research aims to identify and explain the role of mothers as single parents in providing educational support to children during the Covid-19 pandemic. The theory used in this research is structural functional theory by Talcott Parsons. This research method is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation with triangulation of sources to test the validity of the data. Data analysis used data analysis from Miles and Huberman. The results show that the role of mothers as single parents in carrying out educational functions can run well, namely by providing educational support to children, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely by accompanying children to study, helping children learn, reminding children to actively participate in classes and do their duties, meet learning facilities, and always provide motivation and advice to children. Single mothers also experience various obstacles, namely that they cannot fully and directly accompany their children when learning from home. In addition, single mothers also find it difficult to provide support to their children on their own, because children are sometimes difficult to manage. This happened because there was no father figure in the family.

This study aims to find scientific, social and environmental learning before the covid outbreak. Another goal is to find learning strategies during the Covid-19 period and learning priorities and challenges faced by teachers and parents during online learning. The research method approach uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected by in-depth interviews with Dahlia's early childhood education school teacher. The sample was selected through a purposive technique. The results were carefully examined through triangulation and source triangulation techniques. The results showed that environmental learning was carried out to children through miniatures or animal sculptures in the classroom, then taking school children to the zoo to get to know the animals. When the teacher was in class, he asked again what he had seen in nature. The teacher also takes school children to nature to see the plants and animals in the surrounding environment. Meanwhile, to hone the social session, the teacher makes various games such as role-playing games to become a police officer so that there is a cooperation between students. Then, the teacher also uses outdoor games such as swings where there is social learning because they have to be done together. Another way is to play the role of a policeman and some other students play the role of criminals.

It is considered important to rethink psychopolitics, the role it plays at the global level and how it affects the governance of Peru. If before it was used for scientific purposes and in disciplines such as sociology, education, psychology, among others, today, it transcended the political and the purposes have been reversed. The present study set out to analyze how psychopolitics is exercised in the Peruvian governance of the XXI century. A qualitative analysis was performed using the inductive method; For data collection, the technique of observation, documentary and bibliographic review was used. Three categories were analyzed: biopower, psychotechnology, and corruption in governance; For data validation, triangulation was used. It was concluded that psychopolitics is misused to increase corruption and normalize it; In other words, governance is hampered by corruption, therefore, it does not interact with the population and civil society organized in participatory democracy, because they are increasingly detached from politics with little or no citizen participation.

Being polite is significant to maintain good communications as well as social relationship and therefore various strategies are applied to show language politeness. This sociopragmatic study deals with negative politeness found in What Would You Do? TV show to describe the types of negative politeness strategies and investigate the reasons of choosing those strategies. This research applied a descriptive qualitative approach supported by statistics. The data were in the form of utterances containing negative politeness strategies, sourced in the conversations and the scripts between the participants and the actors. There were 106 data collected by note-taking technique from the show’s YouTube channel. The trustworthiness was attained through analyst triangulation. The findings show that seven negative politeness strategies are used by the participants in their responses to the actors: Being Indirect (12), Questions, Hedges (40), Minimizing the Imposition (12), Apologizing (25), Giving Difference (9), Being Pessimistic (6), and State the FTA as General Rule (2). The dominance of Questions, Hedges relates to the options provided to the addressee to accept or refuse the speaker’s request and to make utterances sound more polite. Related to reasons, the payoffs factor was dominant (with 84 occurrences) because it is the basic factor the participants might think about what they will get by applying a certain strategy. The circumstances factor has 22 occurrences, consisting of social distance (14), social power (5), and rank of imposition (3).

Employing a multiple method triangulation strategy and adapting Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding model as a theoretical framework, this study used the World Press Photo Awards (WPPA) as a sample to empirically assess the extent to which gender influences the production, representation and reception of conflict images. The study examined whether women photojournalists are gaining increasing recognition, and gauged whether there are discernible gendered differences in the semiotics of conflict photographs. The image sample was then presented to focus groups in three countries to evaluate gendered decoding practices, followed by interviews with seven women WPPA winners to examine gender in relation to encoding practices, and their gendered experiences when photographing subjects in conflict zones. Findings suggest that the gradual increase in the numbers of women photographers may account for the shift toward "aftermath" imagery, but that a complex assimilatory process has wrought an intersection between traditionally "feminine" and "masculine" tropes. Women are still under-represented in photojournalism, and, while not wishing to be defined by gender, they have a sense of "doing things differently"; in gaining access unique to the world of women, women photographers have intimate access to subjects which would otherwise remain under-represented. TRIANGULATION (Psychology) , *MEDIATION , *MEDIEVAL romance literature ,DRAMATIC works of William Shakespeare - Abstract
As to the risks of what I call the 'triangulation' of both public power and private emotion, I extend my earlier treatment of 'mediation' in The Merchant of Venice to Measure for Measure, King Lear, Hamlet, and The Tempest, linking to them Shakespeare's Sonnet 134. For Shakespeare, whether poet or playwright, a private triangulation of direct romantic obligation is as nettlesome as the public official's similar behaviour - as when the Duke 'outsources' Viennese power to Angelo - and the results are quite as disastrous. The complex and highly legalistic sonnet concerns the triangulation of passion from the speaker to a friend. The beloved winds up ensnaring both through 'the statute of [her] beauty'. The word 'surety' - used centrally in the poem and twice in Merchant - pinpoints, through the delegation to a third party of obligations otherwise charged directly to two committed parties, the underlying Shakespearean problematic. Objective: Using patient-reported experiences, this study: 1) quantitatively evaluated TTTS screening trends, 2) examined screening and diagnostic experiences using a mixed methods approach, and 3) determined gaps in clinical care experiences. Design: This was a cross-sectional study. Data was collected using a self-report, retrospective survey. A triangulation design was used to validate quantitative survey data with thematically analyzed qualitative data. Setting: Participants were recruited through social media and national foundations and completed the survey online. Participants: Participants were 312 women who completed a TTTS pregnancy in the United States, representing the largest survey of participants who have experienced TTTS. Methods: Descriptive statistics and bivariate analyses were conducted. Multivariate logistic regression examined predictors of ultrasound frequency. Qualitative data were initially coded by hand and checked using qualitative software. Results: The percentages of participants reporting guideline recommended screening, including identification of pregnancy type by gestational week 13 and timely receipt of ultrasounds, increased over time. However, 44.6% of participants diagnosed in recent years (2014 and later), reported that prior to TTTS diagnosis, they did not receive biweekly or more frequent ultrasounds. Three patient-reported provider practices were related to receiving ultrasounds at the recommended frequency: (1) determining MCDA status prior to gestational week 14, (2) providing participants with early warnings about the risk of TTTS to their pregnancies after MCDA status had been determined, and (3) referring participants to a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist after MCDA identification, as validated by qualitative data. Our qualitative data revealed gaps in effective clinical care experiences among OB/GYN and specialist providers. Conclusion: These findings indicate screening and diagnosis for TTTS, as reported by patients, is improving in the United States; however, further efforts are required to ensure all patients receive appropriate screening, education and a team-based approach to comprehensive and supportive clinical care. In an article published in this journal, Partington (2014) addresses the criticism often made against corpus linguistics that it is apparently unable to cope with absences. He convincingly argues that corpus linguistics is better suited to account for absences than has been claimed. I resume the debate by discussing a type of absence not fully addressed in Partington (2014) which I have termed 'creative absences'. With a focus on corpus stylistics, I consider the way in which the author Henry Green dispenses with a compulsory element in the grammatical structure of Standard English, i.e. the determiner (mainly, the definite article). By means of a manual analysis as well as two corpus stylistic analyses (keyness and text-type analysis) of the novel Living (Green 1929), I explore the effects of such an unorthodox use and argue, alongside Partington (2014), for the usefulness of corpus approaches to account for at least certain types of absences. Case study is a popular research design within the social sciences despite concerns of its credibility. Case studies provide an in-depth exploration of the unit of analysis (case). Hence, data triangulation is a key characteristic of the design whose purpose is to provide a thick, rich, and contextual description. Data for varied sources enhances credibility of the study. However, studies involving only one source of evidence exist in peer reviewed publications. This paper reviews the nature of case studies and discusses the importance of data triangulation. Further, three published case studies involving a single source of data are reviewed and suggestions of more appropriate designs are provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To understand the on-line knowledge examination, the Interdisciplinary Evaluation and Feedback Seminar (SERI in Spanish) and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as innovative evaluation strategies, based on the perceptions of faculty and students of an medical programme basic area. Materials and methods: Qualitative, microethnographic research. Five focus groups and seven in-depth interviews were conducted with faculty members and students who gave their informed consent and their permission for recording. The data were analysed using open axial coding and emerging categories. Triangulation of sources, authors and techniques was used, and a final report was prepared before returning the information. Results: The strategies studied have strengths and weaknesses; on-line examination is well accepted by the students but there is a lack coordination. Greater faculty training in the use of the platform is required, and it is important to establish mechanisms to avoid potential fraud. SERI favours feedback but there is a need to reduce the risk of affecting self-esteem and to find ways to improve knowledge assessment. OSCE comes closer to the correlation between basic training and clinical practice, but organisation and physical space for stations need to be improved. Conclusions: Innovative evaluation strategies must be the focus of constant review in terms of their structure and implementation in order to strengthen comprehensive student training. Creating new government levels through structural reforms also changes the settings of institutional participation. In this article, institutional participation is scrutinized as a question of legitimacy in changing local government by focusing on the effects of creating regional self-government. To investigate this question, this article utilizes a triangulation of data and methods through statistics, a survey and interviews. By considering many viewpoints, it is possible to create a general view on the diverse interpretations of the question. The study shows that structural reforms not only change the structures of participation but also require organizational "sponginess" for citizen involvement in order to create a new, legitimate government level. Multiple disorders once jointly conceived as “nervous diseases” became segregated by the distinct institutional traditions forged in neurology and psychiatry. As a result, each field specialized in the study and treatment of a subset of such conditions. Here we propose new avenues for interdisciplinary interaction through a triangulation of both fields with social neuroscience. To this end, we review evidence from five relevant domains (facial emotion recognition, empathy, theory of mind, moral cognition, and social context assessment), highlighting their common disturbances across neurological and psychiatric conditions and discussing their multiple pathophysiological mechanisms. Our proposal is anchored in multidimensional evidence, including behavioral, neurocognitive, and genetic findings. From a clinical perspective, this work paves the way for dimensional and transdiagnostic approaches, new pharmacological treatments, and educational innovations rooted in a combined neuropsychiatric training. Research-wise, it fosters new models of the social brain and a novel platform to explore the interplay of cognitive and social functions. Finally, we identify new challenges for this synergistic framework. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Character education awakens the realm of values and norms of students. Environmental care is one of the 18 character values in the Indonesian Ministry of Education and National (2010) character education design. This article aims to examine the character of caring for the environment to mitigate flood disasters. Qualitative approach with descriptive method is used to describe research problems. Miles and Huberman's interactive model reduced interview data, presented descriptive narratives, and document research results. Triangulation techniques and research extension resulted in data saturation. The results of the study describe that related to the environmental care behavior of the community in Pengaron Village, it is described as follows; 1) The attitude of the community towards flood prevention is to do cooperation every week by coordinating through village officials, 2) Knowledge about flooding is passed down from generation to generation to children. This information includes the fact that floods always occur every year, so people must always be alert; 3) Environmental care behavior includes the obligation to have swimming skills, construct houses on stilts and or two floors, and plant trees that have characteristics sensitive to weather changes. Society inherits the character of caring for the environment as the primary value in everyday life. The character of caring for the environment contributes to educating the importance of preserving and coexisting with the environment.

The Chinioti Sheikh community ranks among the most successful business communities in Pakistan, yet literature is almost barren of any study that aims to understand the success model of such business communities in the country. The purpose of this paper is twofold: one is to understand the factors that make Chinioti Sheikhs a successful business community in Pakistan and second is to comprehend the role of entrepreneurial mindset and values in the contribution of entrepreneurial success for Chinioti Sheikhs in particular and other entrepreneurs in general. The study is qualitative in nature and utilizes two research methods i.e., cumulative case study and focus group for the purpose of triangulation and profound understanding. The study takes help of the book 'Kamyab Log' for analyzing cases of Chinioti Sheikh entrepreneurs and in the second phase of research, a focus group is conducted of subject experts and entrepreneurs. The findings reveal that there are a number of factors that influence success of a venture. For Chinioti Sheikhs, these factors are a combination of collective traits shared among all members of community as well as individual traits, which include a value-infused personality traits plus entrepreneurial mindset of that individual entrepreneur.

Support from caregivers is an important element of mental health recovery. However, the mechanisms by which social support influences the recovery of persons with depressive, anxiety, or bipolar disorders are less understood. In this study, we describe the social support mechanisms that influence mental health recovery. A cross-sectional qualitative study was undertaken in Québec (Canada) with 15 persons in recovery and 15 caregivers—those having played the most significant role in their recovery. A deductive thematic analysis allowed for the identification and description of different mechanisms through a triangulation of perspectives from different actors. Regarding classic social support functions, several of the support mechanisms for mental health recovery were identified (emotional support, companionship, instrumental support, and validation). However, informational support was not mentioned. New mechanisms were also identified: presence, communication, and influence. Social support mechanisms evoke a model containing a hierarchy as well as links among them.
