Various crystallographic studies are conducted to analyze the synthesis and the structure of the new novel linear transition metal clusters of a heptadentate bis-[beta]-diketone ligand, which reacts to give different products depending on the metal. The results have shown that the metals within these complexes weakly interact magnetically and hence lead to a suitable scaffold for the preparation of novel linear transition metals in a variety of topologies.
