Violence against children represents a public health problem, due to the high levels of recurrence. The responsibility to naturalize the facts points to: neglect, lack of protection, misinformation, media treatment, ways of providing discipline and the poor approach to the protagonists of this story: girls and boys. Educommunication is a practical theoretical field, which allowed an interdisciplinary approach to the problem of violence towards children in 3 municipalities of Bolivia. Also, it involved main actors, granting them coresponsibilities and appropriate knowledge to generate self-protection mechanisms, prevent acts of physical, psychological and sexual violence, and promote the transformation of the lives of these populations, who are often in situations of high vulnerability., achieving adequate management to reduce these events.

NON-timber forest products , *AGRICULTURE , *BIOINDICATORS , *SPECIES diversity , *FAMILY farms , *TREES , *LEGUMES , *CHESTNUT - Abstract
The definition of trees outside the forest (TOF) contemplates non-timber forest products and constitutes a set of goods and services that contribute to the production of food in different agricultural forms. The study was carried out on the Maripa family farm, municipality of Cumanayagua, Cienfuegos province, Cuba, with the objective of analyzing the evolution over time of the TOF in the farm's location area. A diachronic analysis was approached through the method of synchronic cuts, with a cross-sectional research design and descriptive approach, where qualitative and quantitative aspects were measured without manipulating variables. The chosen temporal axis was specified in three successive sections, 1935-1965, 1966-1996 and 1997-2023, with an approximate reconstruction of the conditions of those most significant elements of the landscape. Ecological indicators were calculated, adjusted to the TOF present on the farm in the third cut. Over time, a dynamic change of the landscape towards an agroecosystem resulted, with 21.95% of species not present on the farm at the end of the first half of the year 2023 in relation to the period 1935-1965. Currently, 64 species belonging to 33 botanical families were quantified, with the greatest representation of: Fabaceae, Annonaceae, Anacardeaceae and Sapotaceae. The ecological indices showed a high diversity and richness of species, with low dominance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In a stage of large-scale development of the new technologies information and communication, in the midst of the rise of social networks, the mass media globalized by the Internet, the debate on the epistemological construction of decolonial Communication arises. However, not every decolonial proposal means by itself to be critical and liberating, it will depend on the possibility of a concrete praxis, in that search path between that theoretical-practical relationship, a capable communication tool is analyzed of social transformations "the dialogue", from the revaluation of the decolonial communication thought of great Latin American social revolutionaries such as: Freire, Rodriguez and Martí. - Abstract
The Autonomous Air Warfare (AAW) paradigm reveals a profound transformation resulting from the exploration of artificial intelligence and Aerial Systems with Autonomous Functionalities (ASAF), in a model of collaboration in combat between man and machine, affecting the operational functions of Air Power and its political utility. The aim of this research is to analyse emerging AAW operational models to identify trends and implications for the transformation of Air Power. These operational models will be analysed in terms of the dimensions that reflect an Air Force's ability to generate and employ Air Power, namely the concepts of employment, the capabilities to operationalise the concepts, the organisation that sets the benchmark for the use of force, and the people who make it possible. The analysis revealed qualitative and quantitative advantages in a force's ability to generate and employ Air Power, in terms of operational effectiveness and cost and risk efficiency, but also some technological, organisational and human challenges. The emerging AAW paradigm enhances the utility of Air Power, improving the availability, accessibility, and acceptability of operational employment, resulting from the isolated use of ASAF, or in combination with manned aircraft in teaming operational concepts, or from collaboration between multiple ASAF with high levels of autonomy. It also confirms the trend towards the gradual removal of man from the decision cycle and from the operation of individual ASAF, towards functions of supervision of multiple systems, aided by artificial intelligence, but with the ambition of retaining significant control over the decision to use lethal force. The research covered several dimensions related to the transformations in daily and school life, produced by the measures of isolation and preventive and compulsory social distancing. In this paper, we will focus on those repercussions linked to the subjective from the perspective of adults when they talk about their children. In this sense, we share interpretations from a virtual survey carried out by 1280 families from different parts of the national territory, administered in the middle of 2021. At the same time, descriptive references to schooling in households are offered and relationships are articulated to work on the psychosocial effects that the emergency measures imposed, modifying family, school, social, and labour daily life. The qualitative analysis of the open-ended responses is made from a sociopsychogenetic perspective, allowing articulation of subjective, social, and cognitive aspects interpreted from a historical and relational perspective.

EDUCATIONAL planning , *TWENTY-first century , *ACHIEVEMENT , *PROCESS capability , *EDUCATION research , *SOCIAL integration , *INFORMATION processing - Abstract
Modern digital technologies contribute to the transformation of the social order and the integration of the latest information processing capabilities into everyday life. These trends are also characteristic of education and science as separate branches of the social whole. Therefore, the aim of the work is to analyze the technological challenges in the development of the educational and scientific potential of the XXI century. The methods of analysis and synthesis, comparativistic method, forecasting, modeling method were used in the study. The main empirical method was a survey in which 130 teachers and 100 scientific workers participated. It was found that the majority of teachers consider the use of digitalization achievements as inevitable and positive phenomena. Researchers are less optimistic - almost every third employee of the industry did not give a positive response to the impact of digitalization. It is determined that such a phenomenon is negatively perceived because of its ambiguous impact on academic virtue. Modern academics and educators equally understand the importance and significance of digital competence in today's globalized and informatized world. Among the problems, respondents named the technical equipment of educational and research institutions as relevant. Especially for scientists was the problem of insufficient funding. The conclusions noted the importance of conducting further research into the security of using digital tools in research and educational activities and defining a philosophical basis for the transformations, which will help to predict possible challenges in the future. This article, based on the studies of literacies as a social practice and ethnic-racial relations, aims to look at the black movement pointing out elements that characterize it as an agent of academic literacy. For a better understanding of this aspect, a field research was carried out with a group of black students from a Brazilian public university based on an ethnographic study as a theoretical-methodological approach. As a result, it was possible to infer that the agency of the academic black movement presents an affirmative aspect that fosters a gradual transformation of academic literacies, both through the persuit for effective belonging of black population in the university and through the insertion of their history, knowledge and trajectories. This work is based on developing the parametric representation of the failure envelope to Mohr's circles in intact rock as a function of the principal stresses. In the proposed method, the stresses are adjusted using the statistical method EIV (error-in-variables), which does not make artificial distinctions between the independent and dependent variables. To accomplish the transformation from the principal stress plane to the Mohr plane, Balmer's method was used by applying computational algebraic analysis. To illustrate and verify the application of this proposed methodology, the well-documented dataset collected from previous work by Pincus and Sheorey is used. To test the improvement provided by this method, the calculated objective function (likelihood of erroneous decision) have been compared with the parametric equation representation obtained using various least squares methods. It was found that our proposed methodology, and the transformation method of Balmer, has two advantages: i) It simplifies the process of creating a failure envelope for practical applications, and ii) It minimizes the likelihood of erroneous judgment during applications (i.e. indicating failure in a stable state or vice versa. SOCIOCULTURAL theory , *PRINT materials , *ONLINE banking , *CRITICAL pedagogy , *HUMAN beings - Abstract
Based on the Vygotskian theory that good teaching is the one which produces human development, we discuss pedagogical practice with the purpose of collaborating with the humanization of students. In short, it is up to us to clarify the following question: how is pedagogical activity constituted at school with the potential to collaborate with the process of humanization of students? In other words, we are interested in discussing the links between education, human formation and pedagogical activity from a critical and emancipatory perspective, why not say, revolutionary. The bibliographical research is supported by Marxist philosophy, cultural-historical psychology and Critical Historical Pedagogy taking as reference the contributions of Marx and Engels (2009), Vigotski (2004, 1991, 1986), Leontiev (1978), Saviani (2007, 2015), Tuleski, Facci, Barroco (2013) and other theorists. Based on the assumption that education is a social activity that promotes the humanization of human beings as it favors the appropriation of the genericity. At school, this activity acquires pedagogical intentionality and collaborates with the appropriation of higher psychological functions, thus driving the development of more critical developed subjectivities. The process of appropriating the aforementioned theoretical contribution took place through the search and analysis of printed materials (books), and in digital research banks, studies that specifically dealt with the aforementioned theme of this work. - Abstract
Adolescence is a period of development characterized by the presence of strong contrasts, given the need to reconcile the new and the unknown, favoring an advance in growth. The school context is par excellence the space where a set of dynamics are woven and woven based on the construction of identity and identification processes, promoting self-knowledge. The authors propose to think about the psychic transformations of Eva, a 15-year-old adolescent, undergoing psychotherapeutic follow-up in the school context. The Rorschach was the assessment instrument at two different times, at 12 and 14 years old, allowing access and describing the psychic transformations during the process of becoming an adolescent. This new reading is highly beneficial for better planning and execution of the psychotherapeutic process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POLITICAL science education , *CLASS consciousness , *SOCIAL movements , *SOCIAL services , *POINT processes - Abstract
The objective of the report is to systematize the experience of the Education, Work and Social Movements Nucleus of the University of Pernambuco, shedding light on the process itself. The methodology is guided by dialectical analysis, which consists of analyzing and understanding the reality in relation to the whole, in a historical process and, therefore, in motion. It is based on the concept of contemporary popular education, having Paulo Freire as the main theoretical reference. As a result, it indicates some categories that express the reality and the desire of the Nucleus, namely: dialogue, participation, being and learning with, class consciousness, dream and hope. In conclusion, it points to an organizational process that assumes the political dimension of education, taking a position alongside workers and popular movements, in the struggle for emancipation and transformation. This essay aims to establish a dialogue between the pedagogical contributions of Paulo Freire, Frantz Fanon and Boaventura de Sousa Santos, with the purpose of claiming the collective construction of a pedagogical alternative that from the south provokes indignation, promotes ecological awareness and instills a social role. If the pedagogy that promotes modernity has as its main characteristic the dehumanization of the human being, the pedagogical alternative from the south will have its humanization as its goal. This is the power that counter-hegemonic education keeps within itself. Through the pedagogical postulates of these three intellectuals, the aim is to become aware of what modernity denied us for centuries: the possibility of creating anti-colonial, anti-capitalist and anti-patriarchal subjectivities. SOCIAL groups , *PSYCHOLOGY of teachers , *POWER (Social sciences) , *OLDER people , *ACTIVE aging , *SOCIAL marginality , *COMMUNITY involvement - Abstract
This article analyzes a pedagogical experience of empowering older adults using Paulo Freire's pedagogical thinking. The project was based on memory training and was divided into three projects. The first consisted of imparting knowledge and resources for memory training, while the second focused on reinforcing metamemory. The project used a methodology that combined group and individual work, and focused on working on all dimensions of the person. The experience was positively valued and it is proposed to incorporate elements of Freire's pedagogy in future editions. The article describes the implementation of a self-management project for older adults, with the aim of promoting empowerment and autonomy. The project consisted of ten sessions of ninety minutes each, in which a volunteer older adult was in charge of the dynamization. The change in the project was due to the high involvement of the dynamizers, their desire to take on more responsibilities, and their interest in developing relational and political competences. The project was based on the definition of empowerment as a participatory process through which marginalized people gain greater control over their lives. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were used to select participants, and neuropsychological evaluations and in-depth interviews were conducted. The results were collected through participant observation and ad hoc questionnaires. The project seeks to promote individual and social empowerment in older adults through empowerment strategies. A questionnaire validated by experts was used to assess the degree of empowerment achieved. The results showed that the majority of participants considered that the project facilitated their empowerment and acquired skills such as improved communication and organizational capacity. However, the need to reinforce competences such as civic and community commitment was identified in order to achieve greater transformation and empowerment at a social level. The use of Freire's pedagogy is proposed as a reference for future editions of the project. The text talks about the importance of reflection and awareness in the education of older adults. It is mentioned that through dialogue and education, the awareness of belonging to a disadvantaged social group can be fostered, and this can be a driver of transformation of their reality. The importance of the characteristics of the teacher, such as ethical coherence, willingness to change, giving voice to students, and working on collaborative knowledge construction, is highlighted. The importance of promoting empowerment and adaptability in the project's dynamizers is also mentioned. In summary, the importance of awareness, dialogue, and teacher training in the education of older adults is emphasized. The United Nations document "Aging and Human Rights: Situation and Perspectives of Protection" addresses the issue of aging and human rights. Other documents mentioned in the text deal with empowering education, social exclusion, community participation, empowerment of older people, and promotion of active aging. Studies on the health and empowerment of older people are also mentioned, as well as the importance of addressing gender inequalities and empowering women and girls. The cited documents come from various academic sources and address different aspects related to empowerment and human rights in different contexts. [Extracted from the article]

PRAXIS (Process) , *SOCIAL movements , *SOCIAL change , *FATE & fatalism , *COVID-19 - Abstract
In this article, we proposed a reflection on the theoretical category of praxis, starting from the questioning of how it is possible to think about the construction of an emancipatory praxis in the current Brazilian context? To go through this question, we situate the concept of historical fatalism, as a possibility for understand how the power relations are constituted in the current moment, in face of the social threat coming from two agents: the neoconservative government Brazil, and the Covid-19 virus, generator of a worldwide pandemic. In this work, we understand that these agents contribute to the intensification of the neoliberal offensive, which highlights the structural contradictions in the order of capital. Thus, we established that this category of praxis is an expression of the process of critical awareness of subjects, and institutes a movement necessary for social change, based on a historical conception of reality. APOCALYPSE , *CIPHERS , *BLOCKBUSTERS (Motion pictures) , *METAPHYSICS , *CHANGE agents , *POSSIBILITY , *HYPERBOLE - Abstract
Focusing on the question of the metaphysical possibility of change, the article explores a particular musical instance of change: the loss of world. Starting from the general observation that music plays a special role when it comes to the collapse of worlds, it studies two philosophical scenes (from Plato and Schopenhauer) in which music is thought as opening the possibility of change. In Plato, music occurs as an educational facilitator of (individual, personal) change that is ambiguously described in terms of sovereignty and groundlessness. In Schopenhauer, music is thought as the very edge of the world, where the loss of world (and the transition to religious renunciation) is a structural aspect of music’s very concept. This notion of music as being somehow outside, or on the margin of the world, but in a hyperbolical and almost redemptive sense, is then taken into a discussion of the Hollywood blockbuster The Big Short (2015), in which the (historical) 2007 collapse of Wall Street is prophesized by a number of marginal figures, one of whom entertains a special relation to music. Again, music appears as a figure (a cipher) of the change that these characters feel coming, and a shift near the end of the movie suggests a loss that not only affects the world, but this time also music. While music has historically been regarded as an agent of change (of feeling, concept, or sociality), here it would seem that it is music itself that is affected by the possibility of change beyond recognition, and perhaps beyond its own concept. The idea of music would then suggest a logic of change reminding on one hand of the eminent hyperboles of ancient music theologies (Augustine), and on the other hand the more recent accounts of change, apocalypse and miracles in such diverse thinkers as Derrida and Meillassoux, and in contemporary ‘apocalyptic’ novels such as David Markson’s Wittgenstein’s Mistress (1988). Does the loss of music in these works suggest a possibility of new worlds? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
