Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss a nonlinear rational difference equation system with three variables. Firstly, by utilizing Jacobian theory, the stability of the system is obtained. Then, we explore the saddle point, nonhyperbolic point, and prime period‐two solution and its boundedness. Finally, we verify the results obtained in the paper via computer numerical calculations. Abstract

In this paper, we investigate a general maximum principle for discrete fractional stochastic difference system of mean‐field type. The admissible control domain is nonconvex. We give Malliavin calculus for discrete‐time case to deal with the fractional terms. The maximum principle of general type is derived by classical variation and linear operator methods. In addition, a linear‐quadratic problem is solved to illustrate the main result and we also figure out a numerical result in this case. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

This paper presents an evolutionary game model of the "government‐platform‐platform user" based on the assumption of bounded rationality. The model explores the copyright governance mechanism of user‐generated content (UGC) in China by analyzing the strategic interaction between managers and the managed and the influence of various factors. The findings highlight that the government plays a leading role in the governance mechanism of UGC copyright, and the participation of the platform, as the direct manager of information content, can greatly improve the efficiency of supervision. Increasing government penalties, reducing excess revenue from passive platform filtering, and imposing additional payments for users' infringing use can expedite the adoption of evolutionary stability strategies. Furthermore, there exists a practical threshold for government incentives for platforms. Therefore, the construction and optimization of the UGC copyright governance mechanism need to be supported by a dynamic and coordinated reward and punishment system, diversified business objectives, and continuously improving users' copyright awareness. Abstract

The special issue on Nonlinear Economic Dynamics contains a selection of papers presented at the 11th International Conference on Nonlinear Economic Dynamics (NED) that took place on September 4–6, 2019, at the Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine. Organized under the auspices of the Nonlinear Economic Dynamics Society, the NED conference is a biennial (odd-year) international meeting of scholars interested in the development of methods for studying nonlinear dynamical systems and in their applications in economics and social sciences. The aim of this meeting is to bring together different streams of the growing literature in this field and to stimulate a fruitful exchange between theoretical research and applications in economics.

Abstract

We develop a nonlinear duopoly model in which the heuristic expectation formation and learning behavior of two boundedly rational firms may engender complex dynamics. Most importantly, we assume that the firms employ different forecasting models to predict the behavior of their opponent. Moreover, the firms learn by leaning more strongly on forecasting models that yield more precise predictions. An eight-dimensional nonlinear map drives the dynamics of our approach. We analytically derive the conditions under which its unique steady state is locally stable and numerically study its out-of-equilibrium behavior. In doing so, we detect multiple scenarios with coexisting attractors at which the firms' behavior yields distinctively different market outcomes.
