With the increase in the diabetic foot patients in recent decades, the caregivers of diabetic foot patients increase too. Most of these caregivers are informal caregivers. However, the studies examining the burden of the caregivers and affecting factors are limited. This study was conducted to determine the burden of the caregivers of diabetic foot patients and affecting factors. This cross-sectional study was conducted between the January and October 2020 in a diabetic foot council of a university hospital. Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale and a participant identification form were used for data collection. Most of the caregivers were female (75.2%) and the mean age was 51.27 ± 11.48 years. The burden of the caregivers was at moderate level in the current study. Factors affecting the caregivers' burden were caregivers' age, patients' family structure, caregivers' education level, caregivers' income level, hours per week spending for the care of the patients, and lack of choice. Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Fear of COVID‐19 Scale (FCV‐19S). Methods: The study used a descriptive design and was conducted between April and May 2020. The participants were 213 nurses who were working in 12 hospitals in eight cities in Turkey. Content validity index, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate validity. Cronbach's alpha, item‐scale correlation and test–retest reliability were used to evaluate reliability. Results: The CVI was 0.92 (0.81–1.00). A one‐factor solution was identified and the factor loading of items in scale varied from 0.377 to 0.909. The Cronbach's alpha value was 0.889 in the current study. Item‐scale correlations ranged between 0.570 and 0.815. Intraclass correlation coefficient ranged from 0.71 to 0.93. Conclusion: The Turkish version of the FCV‐19S for nurses was found to be valid and reliable measure of the fear of nurses towards COVID‐19. Summary statement: What is already known about this topic? With the high infection rate, relatively high mortality and limited treatment options, people worry about the COVID‐19 pandemic.Nurses, as a responsibility of their profession, have to be in contact with infected or possibly infected individuals in health care institutions.To protect the overall well‐being of nurses, it is essential to evaluate their physical, psychological and social status regularly, so it is necessary to evaluate the fear experienced by nurses due to COVID‐19. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the foot care self-efficacy of diabetic foot patients and the effect of an educational intervention for improving it. This study was of a semi-experimental design and was conducted between January and December 2019 in a diabetic foot council of a university hospital. After power analysis to determine sample size, 33 participants meeting the inclusion criteria were included in the study. A Patient Identification Form and Diabetic Foot Care Self-Efficacy Scale (DFCSES) were used to collect data. Of the patients, 51.5% were male and the mean age was 54.91 ± 16.61 years. The mean score of DFCSES was 50.18 ± 20.88 before education and 72.67 ± 20.74 after education. The educational intervention has large effects on self-efficacy (d = 1.233), perceived knowledge level on diabetic foot (d = 1.102), perceived health status (d = 0.859), and perceived quality of life (d = 0.807). Educational intervention was found to be an effective way to improve foot care self-efficacy, perceived knowledge level on diabetic foot, perceived health status, and perceived quality of life. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Complementary and Integrative Health Assessment for Practitioners Scale for Turkish society. Methods: This methodological study was conducted between May ~ June 2020. The participants were 132 health care practitioners including nurses, physicians, dietitians, physiotherapists, and psychologists, who were working in 6 different hospitals, and 4 different provinces in Turkey. Content Validity Index, item scale correlations, confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate validity. Cronbach's alpha and test-retest were used to evaluate reliability. Results: CVI was 0.95 (0.81-0.98). Factor loadings ranged from 0.381 to 0.913 and, item scale correlations ranged from 0.302 to 0.837. The Cronbach's alpha value was found 0.93 in the current study. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient ranged from 0.82 to 0.96. Conclusion: CIHAP was found to be valid and reliable tool for Turkish society. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Attitudes towards complementary and alternative therapies (CAT) among health professionals are generally reported negatively. This causes the patients to hide what they used as a CAT. As a potential future member of nursing profession, the attitudes toward CAT among nursing students are important. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of educational intervention on nursing students' attitudes toward complementary and alternative therapies. Method: The study was a quasi-experimental and prospective study and conducted in a nursing faculty of a public university. A 14 week (28 hours - 2 hours per week) complementary and alternative therapies education were given to the 47 nursing students. Data were collected with Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicines Questionnaire (HCAMQ - ranged from 11 to 66 points, lower points show more positive attitudes) Results: Participants (80.9% women, 22.06±1.45 years old) reported that the most common CAT used by participants is phytotherapy with 23.4%. The mean of HCAMQ total score was 32.9±4.58 before and 26.8±4.18 after the education. There were significant differences between before and after education (p<0.001). Background: The population of older adults is increasing in Turkey and in World. With the increase of elderly population, the place where they are aging in and which areas they need support is getting more important. Aim: The aim of the study was to explore key factors affecting levels of satisfaction with aging in place in Turkey. Methods: The study was descriptive and the data were collected from January to July 2019 in a geriatric department of a university hospital. The study included 203 older adults. A demographic data form consisting of 15 items and Aging in Place Scale consisting of 15 items were used to collect data. Results: The mean age of participants was 70.51±6.63, and 78.8% were female. A statistically significant relationship was found between the satisfaction of older adults with aging in place and some factors such as gender, income level, family structure, access to a hospital, social entertainment. There was a positive correlation between the satisfaction with aging in place and how many years they have lived in their current residence. There was a negative correlation between the time to access a hospital and satisfaction with aging in place of older adults. According to regression analysis the most important factors affecting the satisfaction with aging in place were social entertainment, gender and age. Conclusion: Many factors were affecting the satisfaction with aging in place. However, the most important factors were social entertainment, gender and age. Recently, the prevalence of Parkinson's disease (PH) and the problems that arise due to the disease are increasing steadily. These problems and symptoms must be eliminated or minimized in order for patients to be able to continue their daily life activities. Rehabilitation practices such as exercise and dance therapy play an important role in adapting to the daily living activities of Parkinson's patients. Dance therapy is known to be effective in controlling PH-specific symptoms as well as being a good aerobic exercise that affects strength, flexibility, focus and cardiovascular functions positively. Moreover, dance therapy is also an effective method of rehabilitation for the prevention of falls, the socialization of the Parkinson's patient. Dance therapy can provide synapse activation and cerebral repair. Among the dance types, the Argentine tango has been reported to be effective in the step backward and maintain its balance.
