Background: Giant cell tumors (GCTs) are locally aggressive but rarely malignant bone neoplasms that uncommonly involve the skull. In this report, we describe a tumor of the sphenoid sinus. Case presentation: A 51-year-old female was presented with headache, and bilateral decreased visual acuity, CT scan, and brain MRI revealed an infra-sellar enhancing tumor expanding to the sellar and supra-sellar region which proved to be a GCT. the patient had received 03 months of preoperative denosumab-based treatment and imaging follow-up showed regression in size and morphology modifications of tumor tissue. Conclusion: This is one of few reports to describe the appearance of sphenoid bone GCT, and the first report to highlight the effects of short-term denosumab treatment in GCTb in such a location.

Basal cell carcinoma is a common, slowly growing, locally aggressive, and rarely metastatic skin cancer. Primary BCCs of the external auditory canal are extremely rare. A 67-year-old patient presented chronic otitis media associated with a mass in the concha and the external auditory canal of the left ear. The patient was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma of the EAC. Locoregional assessment on a CT scan revealed thickening of soft tissues in the external left auricle and external auditory canal. She underwent surgery. Given the insufficient margins, adjuvant radiotherapy was indicated. Radiotherapy was performed with the intensity-modulated radiation therapy technique in order to the overcome anatomical complexity of the region, cover the tumor bed, and preserve the organs at risk. BCC of the EAC is a rare and challenging entity, whose management is multidisciplinary. The main goal is to avoid local recurrence, as well as to improve the patient’s quality of life.

The esthesioneuroblastoma (ENB) is a rare malignant sinonasal tumor of neuroectodermal origin. This study aimed to improve the understanding of the clinical features by reviewing the literature and analyzing the medical records of patients diagnosed with ENB in our institution between 2012 and 2019. A total of 6 cases of ENB were available for analysis. The mean age at the time of diagnosis was 36 years. The main complaints at presentation were the rhinologic signs. Tumors were classified as stage C of Kadisk in 3 cases and stage D in the others. According to TNM (modified by Dulguerov), 2 patients were T3N0M0, one T4N0M0, one T3N1M0, and two T4N1M0. The diagnosis of ENB was based on pathological examination. According to Hyams histological grading, low-grade lesions (Hyams I and II) were seen in 2 cases, high-grade undifferentiated lesions (Hyams III and IV) were seen in 4. Of the 6 patients, 4 received surgery. The surgical approaches mainly included an endoscopic endonasal resection in 2 cases, a cranial-facial resection surgery in 1 case, and an expanded endoscopic endonasal approach in combination with craniotomy in 1 case. Four patients received adjuvant radiotherapy (RT). RT dose ranged from 60 to 70 Gy. A total of 3 patients had lymph node metastasis and received RT of the neck. Chemotherapy was delivered in 2 patients. After a mean follow-up of 4.5 years, 4 patients were free of recurrence. Unfortunately, 1 patient died from a progressive disease 6 months after RT. ENB is a rare locally aggressive tumor of the nasosinusal cavities. The first-line treatment for resectable tumors should include primary surgical resection with adjuvant RT. However, this tumor remains of poor prognosis. Therefore, long-term close follow-up based on symptoms, endoscopy, and imaging is essential.

In patients with locally advanced rectal cancer, neoadjuvant radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy followed by total mesorectal excision as a standard of care. We aimed to explore the number, size, germinal centers, extracapsular invasion of lymph nodes (LN), and their impact on overall survival and disease free survival. Furthermore we also investigated the characteristics of lymph nodes in patients who received neoadjuvant therapy and those who underwent surgery between 2011 and 2018. The count and measurement of lymph nodes was assessed by careful visual inspection and manual palpation. The predictive cut-off value of the lymph node ratio (LNR) was determined based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC), method and the survival outcomes based on Kaplan-Meier curves. We found that the size and the number of lymph nodes decreased significantly after neoadjuvant treatment. The mean LN for patients who received neoadjuvant therapy was 12.68 ± 6.69 and for patients who did not receive neoadjuvant therapy was 16.29 ± 5.61 ( P = .012). Background: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are a heterogeneous group of tumors. For adequate therapeutic management, an accurate diagnosis is necessary. In Morocco, the diagnosis is essentially based on the morphological and immunohistochemical study. Compared to other techniques, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is easier to develop and less expensive. This study aims to assess the feasibility and utility of implementing FISH technique to improve diagnostic accuracy and establish a good classification. Material and methods: This is a retrospective cohort study. 211 cases of mesenchymal tumors were included. Hematoxylin Eosin Safran (HES) staining was performed in all cases followed by immunohistochemistry (IHC). FISH was performed in all cases with suspected STS. The probes used were EWSR1, MDM2 and SS18. The performance of FISH and histopathological test were evaluated by the ROC curve method (receiver operating characteristic). We evaluated the concordance between FISH and real time PCR by Cohen test. Results: The real-time PCR technique showed good agreement with the FISH test by a Kappa coefficient of 60% (p = 0.035). FISH was able to confirm that it is more accurate (Youden’s Index = 91%) than histological/immunohistochemical analysis (Youden’s Index = 51%), as well as the positive predictive value was higher (100%) with an ROC curve finding a larger area under the curve of 0.953 (95% CI: 0.918–0.988), p = 0.000 which supports that FISH shows high performance to present an accurate final diagnosis. Conclusion: This is the first and the largest Moroccan series for the molecular diagnosis of STS by FISH. Our study shows that paraffin FISH is a sensitive and specific ancillary tool in the diagnosis of STS when used in the appropriate clinicopathological context.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a specific subtype of breast cancer lacking hormone receptor expression and HER2 gene amplification. TNBC represents a heterogeneous subtype of breast cancer, characterized by poor prognosis, high invasiveness, high metastatic potential, and a tendency to relapse. In this review, the specific molecular subtypes and pathological aspects of triple-negative breast cancer are illustrated, with particular attention to the biomarker characteristics of TNBC, namely: regulators of cell proliferation and migration and angiogenesis, apoptosis-regulating proteins, regulators of DNA damage response, immune checkpoints, and epigenetic modifications. This paper also focuses on omics approaches to exploring TNBC, such as genomics to identify cancer-specific mutations, epigenomics to identify altered epigenetic landscapes in cancer cells, and transcriptomics to explore differential mRNA and protein expression. Moreover, updated neoadjuvant treatments for TNBC are also mentioned, underlining the role of immunotherapy and novel and targeted agents in the treatment of TNBC.

Stereotactic MR-guided Radiotherapy (MRgRT) is an interesting treatment option for adrenal gland metastases (AGM). We reviewed data from 12 consecutive patients treated with MRgRT for an AGM in our center between 14 November 2019 and 17 August 2021. Endpoints were tolerance assessment, the impact of adaptive treatment on target volume coverage and organs at risk (OAR) sparing, local control (LC), and overall survival (OS). The majority of patients were oligometastatic (58.3%), with 6 right AGM, 5 left AGM and 1 left and right AGM. The prescribed dose was 35 to 50 Gy in 3 to 5 fractions. The median PTV V95% on the initial plan was 95.74%. The median V95% of the PTVoptimized (PTVopt) on the initial plan was 95.26%. Thirty-eight (69%) fractions were adapted. The PTV coverage was significantly improved for adapted plans compared to predicted plans (median PTV V95% increased from 89.85% to 91.17%, p = 0.0478). The plan adaptation also significantly reduced Dmax for the stomach and small intestine. The treatment was well tolerated with no grade > 2 toxicities. With a median follow-up of 15.5 months, the 1–year LC and OS rate were 100% and 91.7%. Six patients (50%) presented a metastatic progression, and one patient (8.3%) died of metastatic evolution during the follow-up. Adaptation of the treatment plan improved the overall dosimetric quality of MRI-guided radiotherapy. A longer follow-up is required to assess late toxicities and clinical results.

Soft-tissue sarcomas are malignant tumors that require good management within specialized centers. Our study aims to assess the benefit of handling these kinds of tumors using the Multidisciplinary Meeting (MDM) approach. The current paper details this approach through a prospective study that has lasted for 42 months in the HASSAN II University Hospital Center, Fez, Morocco. During this research work, 116 cases were selected with an average age of 53 years. In 95.7% of the cases, it was found that the lower limb was the most frequent tumor type (78.4%). Also, ninety-two (92) patients (79.3%) have had a prior biopsy. Ninety-nine (99) patients (85.3%) have received a magnetic resonance imaging scan (MRI) before surgery. Sixty-three (63) patients were operated on, including R0 resection used for 37 patients, R1 used for 21 patients, and R2 used for five patients. As a result, liposarcomas were the most frequent type (30.1%), followed by synovial sarcomas (14.6%), leiomyosarcomas (9.5%), ewing sarcoma (8.6), and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcomas (7.7%). In addition, neoadjuvant chemotherapy was used for 36 patients. The other 22 patients received adjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. The overall survival rate was 60.56 months, which proves a significant improvement, thanks to the multidisciplinary meeting approach. Conclusion. The conducted investigation has shown that using MDM for managing soft-tissue sarcomas of extremities improves the patients’ survival rate. Moreover, results have proven MDM might allow optimal treatment regarding less local recurrence and metastasis.

We report here the case of a patient admitted for management of posterior fossa cerebral hemangioblastoma. A 16-year-old male patient with a history of intracranial hypertension syndrome consisting of progressively worsening headache, vomiting, especially morning and jet vomiting, and decreased visual acuity. The patient´s symptomatology worsened a few days later with the appearance of a disturbance of balance with enlargement of the sustentation polygon. The patient initially benefited from a brain CT scan that objectified a solidocystic process of the posterior brain fossa. The patient then underwent a surgical excision that was considered partial and the diagnosis of hemangioblastoma was made on the surgical specimen. Since the surgical removal was partial the patient was referred to our training where he received external radiotherapy on his hemangioblastoma of the posterior brain fossa. The patient was examined one month after the end of irradiation; he presented a spectacular improvement in his neurological symptomatology with a clear regression of balance disorders. The standard treatment for cerebellar hemangioblastoma is complete microsurgical removal, but our results show a high level of efficacy for fractional photon radiotherapy after partial surgery of this benign tumour.

We report the case of a patient with recurrent pterygo-palatal angiofibroma and its treatment. A 21-year-old male patient had a long history of recurrent epistaxis with progressive nasal obstruction. He was diagnosed with an angiofibroma centered in the right pterygo-palatine fossa. Initially, he underwent surgical excision with removal of the entire tumor. The evolution was clinically good with no signs of recurrence on the cervico-facial scan of control (CT). Nine months after, he presented a reappearance of epistaxis. A cervico-facial MRI was performed and showed a recurrence of the tumor process, which this time was considered inextirpable, hence the decision to opt for radiotherapy with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). He has improved clinically with a clear reduction in tumor mass on CT scan. This technique represents an interesting alternative to overcome anatomical complexity of the region, cover the tumor and preserve the organs at risk.

Prognosis for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to elucidate possible association between therapeutic effect on lymph nodes (LNs) and patient prognosis. Overall, 149 patients with rectal cancer received preoperative radiotherapy in concomitance with chemotherapy or exclusive radiotherapy before rectal excision. Microscopic examination of formalin-fixed lymph nodes was assessed for therapeutic effect. The establishment of groups combined reaction tissue types of fibrosis, colloid, and necrosis after neoadjuvant treatment was assigned. The average age was 56.38 years, ranged between 22 and 88 years, 53% were female, and 47% were men, with a sex ratio of 1 : 12. In the present study, we noticed that after a median follow-up time of 40.67 months (0–83; SD: 21.1), overall survival was statistically significant depending on age groups. Patient satisfaction is an important quality outcome indicator of health care in the hospital setting. Patients are nowadays care-partners with caregivers. This relation is practically important for patients presenting chronic diseases, especially cancer. The aim of this study is to evaluate cancer patient satisfaction, treated at the Department of Radiotherapy in Hassan II University Hospital, and to study the different components of this satisfaction. A prospective transversal study was conducted between December 2016 and January 2017. Data was collected by three investigators based on structured interviews, a validated, anonymous and a standardized questionnaire. During this period, we have included 230 patients: 159 women (69.1%), 71 men (30.9%) and the sex ratio (women/men) was 2.23. Half of the investigated patients have never been schooled (52.61%). The majority had urban origin (71.3%) and 90% of patients declared being satisfied with the care at Radiotherapy department. 93.48% of cases recommended Radiotherapy department to other patients and 95.65% will want to continue their treatment at this department. Reception conditions were judged as favorable in 92.14%. Satisfaction rates regarding the availability of medical and paramedics, health-care workers were 86.52% and 83.9%, respectively. The quality of medical and paramedical care was judged as excellent or good in 78% cases. However, 44.34% of patients complained about the complexity of administrative formalities. 60.87% of cases judged that the waiting time was too long, whereas 31.4% of patients claimed that care-quality of their pain was insufficient or bad. The majority of patients declared being very satisfied or at least satisfied with different care services. For items that were judged as less satisfactory, some recommendations will be taken especially at the level of pain’s and palliative care as well as the organization of patients’ circuit inside the department. The satisfaction’s variations can be attributed to personally patients factors as well as systemic ones at the level of the hospital. Assessing and understanding these factors are essential in developing appropriate measures to improve patient satisfaction.

L'objectif de l'étude et d'Analyser les caractéristiques épidémiologiques, cliniques, thérapeutiques et évolutives du carcinome indifférencié du nasopharynx de l'adulte. Il s'agit d'une étude cohorte rétrospective portant sur 163 patients âgés de 17 ans et plus, traités pour un carcinome indifférencié du nasopharynx non métastatique. L'âge moyen des patients était de 46,5ans, avec un sexe-ratio de 1,7. 35,57% des patients étaient atteints de tumeurs localement évoluées (T3-T4) et 52,27% avec une atteinte ganglionnaire régionale avancée (N2-N3). Sur le plan thérapeutique une chimiothérapie neoadjuvante a été réalisée chez 77% des patients et 93,8% des patients ont bénéficié d'une radio-chimiothérapie concomitante. Après un recul moyen de 40,8 mois la survie globale était de 92,9% et la survie sans récidive (SSR) était de 78,9%. L'analyse de la survie sans récidive SSR en fonction des différents facteurs pronostiques a montré une différence statistiquement significative pour l'atteint ganglionnaire avec des taux de SSR à trois ans de 88%, 82,6%, 80,8% et 61,5% en cas de tumeur classée N0, N1, N2 et N3 respectivement (p = 0,02). Le cancer du nasopharynx est une maladie complexe, mais des progrès ont été accomplis grâce à des percées en radiothérapie et en biologie moléculaire. La radio-chimiothérapie concomitante représente le standard thérapeutique des stades cliniques supérieur ou égal à T2, ou supérieur ou égal à N1. Les techniques innovantes d'irradiation semblent prometteuses et pourraient pallier aux problèmes de toxicité tardive tout en assurant un excellent taux de contrôle local.

Chordomas are low-grade malignant tumours that arise from remnants of the notochord, usually from within the vertebral bodies It accounts for 1%-4% of malignant primary bone tumours, 50% of which are located in the sacrococcygeal region. It's annual incidence is 0.1/100 000 population. The greatest incidence was found between the fifth and the seventh decades with a male predominance. In spite of its slow-growing nature, chondroid chordoma tends to relapse, and it may eventually become malignant, often jeopardising the patient's prognosis. We report the case of sacrococcygeal chondroide chordoma and the treatment performed.

Le lymphome T/NK est une affection grave et rare en Afrique et en Europe. Le traitement repose sur la radiothérapie et la chimiothérapie. Les auteurs rapportent deux observations de patients âgés respectivement de 55 et 52 ans, qui présentent une obstruction nasale bilatérale avec une rhinorrhée purulente, chez eux l'examen clinique a mis en évidence la présence d'une fente palatine. Le diagnostic n'a pu être posé qu'après une étude immuno-histochimique des biopsies. Les 2 patients ont bénéficié d'une chimiothérapie type CHOEP suivi d'une cure de radiothérapie. Le lymphome T/NK nasal est une forme agressive de lymphome non hodgkinien comportant des caractéristiques clinicopathologiques qui lui sont spécifiques. L'association de la chimiothérapie pour les stades avancés ne semble pas améliorer la survie par rapport à la radiothérapie seule qui reste le traitement de choix surtout pour les stades localisés. La localisation nasal du lymphome T /NK est rare. Le diagnostic repose sur l'étude immunohistochimique. Le traitement comprend chimiothérapie et radiothérapie. Ce type lymphome est de mauvais pronostic globalement, y compris sous traitement.

Bien que le lymphome malin Hodgkinien ou (maladie de Hodgkin) ne représente que 10% de tous les lymphomes, c'est l'un des sous-types de lymphomes les plus communs diagnostiqués pendant la grossesse, en grande partie à cause de l'incidence maximale de la maladie qui coïncide avec l'âge de reproduction. La prise en charge d'une patiente enceinte atteinte d'une maladie de Hodgkin nécessite une approche multidisciplinaire, ainsi qu'une communication efficace avec le patient et sa famille. L'objectif est d'optimiser les chances de guérison de la mère tout en permettant l'accouchement d'un enfant en bonne santé. Nous rapportant un cas rare d'une patiente enceinte diagnostiquée pour une maladie de Hodgkin à 17 semaines d'aménorrhée.

In this paper, we report a case of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the endometrium (PSCCE) with a literature review. A 64-year-old woman, was admitted because postmenopausal bleeding. The gynecological exam found bleeding from the endocervix. The pelvic ultrasound objectified uterine regular contours, endometrial thickened was 10 mm, the presence of an intra cavitary lesion mesuring 56/70 mm. The diagnostic hysteroscopy revealed a whitish appearance taking all the uterine cavity making evoke a tumor of the endometrium. Pelvic MRI showed a tumor limited to the uterine corpus endometrium (invasion by more than 50% of the myometrium) without invasion of the cervix. Radical hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, and lymph nodes dissection were performed. Grossly, the endometrial carcinoma was polypoid tumor occupying the entire uterine cavity. Histologically, the diagnosis of SCC was retained. No adenocarcinoma element was recognized. Neither squamous metaplasia nor dysplasia was recognized. No ectopic cervical tissue was found. The SCC was found to invade into deeper one half of the myometrium. No tumor cells were seen in other sites including the cervix, ovaries, parametres, and lymph nodes. The patients was FIGO 2009 stage IB (pT1B, N0), and was treated with adjuvant radiation. The patient had a disease progression in the pelvis 3 months after the irradiation. We reported a case of PSCCE which can help to enrich the literature for the treatment and prognosis of this disease.

Le gliosarcome est une tumeur primitive mixte du système nerveux central, caractérisée par une prolifération biphasique associant un contingent glial de type glioblastome et un contingent sarcomateux. L'âge moyen de survenue de cette tumeur varie de 40 à 60 ans, avec un sex-ratio homme/femme de 1,8/1. Nous rapportons ici deux cas de gliosarcome traités dans notre service Le traitement standard consiste en une résection chirurgicale de la tumeur suivie d'une radiothérapie externe et parfois d'une chimiothérapie.

The extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma (CME) is a rare malignant soft tissue tumour described as a distinct clinical, histological, immunohistochemical, genetical and evolutive entity. It represents only 2.5% of soft tissue sarcomas. Its individualization is important because it has a long and indolent clinical course, and tumour-related death often occurs after a long survival period. The diagnostic key is morphological supported by immunohistochemistry and genetics t (9; 22) that allow differentiating it from other tumours with myxoid stroma and from chordoma. This report describes a patient with paravertebral extraskeletal myxoid chondrosrcoma with a high locoregional extension.

Les lymphomes malins non-hodgkiniens (LMNH) primitifs du sein sont des tumeurs rares. Leur symptomatologie clinique est polymorphe. L'imagerie médicale est non-spécifique. Le diagnostic peut être évoqué à l'examen cytologique, sa confirmation est toujours histologique. Il s'agit essentiellement de lymphomes de type B, ceux de type NK/T restant rares. Les plus fréquents sont les lymphomes diffus à grandes cellules présentant la particularité de donner des rechutes sous forme d'extension au système nerveux central. Nous rapportons un cas de LMNH primitif bilatéral du sein chez une patiente âgée de 33 ans, révélé par deux nodules mammaires bilatéraux. La mammographie et l'examen extemporané ont évoqué une tumeur phyllode. Le diagnostic du LMNH n'a été fait qu'après examen histologique définitif. Sous chimiothérapie, l'évolution était favorable avec un recul de 15 mois.

The finding on imaging (computed tomography scan or magnetic resonance imaging) of synchronous malignant renal mass in patient with an active nonrenal malignancy without renal specific symptoms is not frequent and diagnostic evaluation can be challenging. We describe a 54-year-old Moroccan male former chronic smoker who presented to our hospital with dry cough and impairment of the performance status. The imaging found a tumor mass in the left upper lobe of the lung associated to mediastinal lymph node and a scanno-guided biopsy of this tumor showed a non small cell lung cancer. The radiological staging revealed a solitary renal mass in the right kidney. The patient received firstly two cycles of a lung cancer chemotherapy with a partial response in the lung and a stability of the renal mass. Consequently, he underwent a scanno-guided biopsy of this mass which confirmed a synchronous clear cell renal carcinoma. The patient got chemo radiotherapy for the lung cancer and then after that he got a partial nephrectomy. He is still under a good control with more than 2 years after the initial diagnosis.

L'association d'un cancer du col utérin avec une grossesse est une éventualité rare. Son incidence est assez mal évaluée, elle se situe selon les études entre 1 et 2/10 000. Lorsque la découverte en est faite, il faut conjuguer deux impératifs parfois totalement divergents : le traitement de la mère et la prise en charge du foetus. Cette association pose schématiquement quatre grands problèmes, qui sont : Celui du diagnostic, qui est loin d'être évident, compte tenu des remaniements cervicaux observés en début de gestation, le pronostic de l'affection, la date du traitement chirurgical et du délai entre le diagnostic et la prise en charge thérapeutique, enfin et de manière plus accessoire, le devenir de la grossesse et le mode d'accouchement. Nous rapportons une série de 5 cas de cancer du col utérin découverts au cours de la grossesse colligés dans notre service entre 2010 et 2013. La prise en charge thérapeutique est identique à celle des patientes en dehors de la grossesse même si quelques adaptations sont nécessaires du fait de l'état gravide, le pronostic du cancer ne semble pas être modifié par la grossesse.

La compression médullaire d'origine métastatique est une complication neurologique fréquente du cancer. C'est une urgence diagnostique et thérapeutique qui nécessite une prise en charge rapide et efficace. L'imagerie par résonance magnétique (IRM) constitue l'examen de choix pour l'exploration de l'ensemble de la moelle. La prise en charge thérapeutique doit être multidisciplinaire incluant la corticothérapie, la radiothérapie et la chirurgie.

L'améloblastome est une tumeur odontogène bénigne mais à pouvoir agressif et invasif local important. C'est une tumeur rare, elle représente 1% des tumeurs des maxillaires. Le rôle de la radiothérapie dans son traitement est actuellement démontré pour les tumeurs inopérables. Nous rapportons 2 cas d'améloblastomes mandibulaires chez deux patients qui ont bénéficié d'une radiothérapie externe à la dose de 60 Gy. L'évolution a été marquée par une rémission complète de la maladie dans les deux cas avec un recul de 2 et 5 ans.

Le Carcinome papillaire intra-kystique du sein est une entité très rare et représente 0,5 à 1% de l'ensemble des carcinomes mammaires. Il se caractérise généralement par une croissance lente avec un bon pronostic. Nous rapportons 03 nouveaux cas prouvés histologiquement, chez des patientes traitées par chirurgie radicale ou conservatrice, suivie d'une radiothérapie sur le sein en place et une hormonothérapie à base de tamoxifen chez les deux patientes avec des récepteurs hormonaux positifs. Les trois patientes sont en bon contrôle locorégionale avec des suivis post-thérapeutiques de 12 à 18 mois.

Introduction:The announcement of the diagnosis of cancer is the first step in the management; it conditions the experience of the disease and compliance with treatment. Objective: The objective of this study was to assess patients' feelings about the diagnosis of cancer and its psychological impact. Methodology: We conducted a monocentric cross-sectional study at Hassan II university hospital; we included 203 newly diagnosed patients over the year 2021. We assessed patient perception after the announcement and identified its psychological impact through the MINI scale. Results: The average age was 52 (18-92). 65% were female, 51.7% were urban and 59.1% had a low income. 72.0% of patients felt that the time spent on the announcement was not sufficient, 68.5% were not involved in the therapeutic choice and 68.1% of our patients felt that their social, family and economic situation was not taken into account. In terms of overall patient perceptions of the announcement, 77.3% of participants were satisfied. Three main psychiatric disorders were identified, major depression (37.9%), generalized anxiety (30.5%), and post-traumatic stress (8.4%). Patients who were dissatisfied with the quality of diagnosis announcement are 5.4 times more likely to have major depression independently of other factors (P<0.0001). Conclusion: In our social context, the announcement of a cancer diagnosis can have psychological repercussions on patients or the interest in setting up a personalized announcement consultation.
