The process of carbon capture, which is one of the most mature yet cost-intensive technology proposed to mitigate global warming has herein been explored as a potential strategy to generate dynamic ligands for metal separation and recovery. Spontaneous CO2 fixation by industrial amines such as diethylenetriamine affords dynamic arrays of interconverting species, from which tailored subsets can be selected yielding organometallic adducts of contrasted solubility. Quantitative compositional analyses of the phases produced with varying CO2 loadings allow to elucidate the underpining self-sorting scenario induced by each metal, and to identify the conditions affording optimal individual separation by precipitation. To illustrate the potentiality of this approach, which could bring substantial added value to the CO2 capture and utilization chain value, bimetallic separation was conducted directly from exhaust gas of an internal combustrion engine vehicle, and the three constituents of the alloys used to produce the cathodes of electric vehicles were separated and recovered by successive CO2-induced selective precipitations. This study provides a potential framework to integrated CO2 capture and utilization and paves the way toward the design of CO2-sourced sustainable processes.

Plant (1) according to claim 1, wherein said at least one supplying conduit (11) communicates with an inlet opening (13) of said at least one pyrolysis chamber, said inlet opening (13) being provided with a movable closing element (14) coated 20 with thermally insulating material. 3. Plant (1) according to claim 2, wherein said movable closing element (14) can rotate around a hinge element (16) between a closed position and an open position. 4. Plant (1) according to claim 3, further comprising an actuator (36) suitable for driving said movable closing element (14) so that it rotates around said hinge 25 element (16). 5. Plant according to any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein said at least one supplying device (5) comprises a second conveying device (7) that receives the tyres (P) from the first conveying device (3) and conveys the tyres (P) through said at least one hydraulic seal element (9) and along said at least one supplying conduit (11) until 30 reaching an inlet zone (12) of the at least one pyrolysis chamber (6), where said tyres (P) are released by said second conveying device (7) and drop by gravity into said pyrolysis chamber (6) through said inlet opening (13). Plant (1) according to claim 1, or 2, characterised in that it comprises a plurality of pyrolysis chambers (6) each of which is supplied with said tyres (P) by means of a respective supplying device (5), that receives the tyres (P) from the first conveying device (3) and conveys the tyres (P) to a respective pyrolysis chamber (6) through a respective supplying 5 conduit (11). 7. Plant (1) according to any preceding claim, wherein said at least one supplying conduit (11) extends vertically over a length of at least 4 metres, in particular over a length comprised between 4 and 20 metres. 8. Plant (1) according to any preceding claim, wherein said second conveying device 10 comprises a rung conveyor (7). 9. Plant (1) according to any preceding claim, wherein said at least one hydraulic seal element (9) comprises a tank (10) containing a liquid (L), in particular water or oil.

Legacy systems maintenance involves different decisions, often very complex and sometimes requiring high costs and time. Hence studying and applying the right system modernization technique becomes very important for systems evolution. One of the solutions often adopted to modernize a system is the possibility to migrate it towards a SOA architecture. A lot of works in the literature have been done in this direction, which propose methodologies that provide some kind of migration strategy. In the migration process one of the main tasks is related to system comprehension. We often have to analyze not well documented systems, where it is difficult to identify the components which could become services or to recognize the possible problems we could face during the migration process. Software architecture reconstruction is certainly a relevant key activity, which is used for these purposes. In this paper we explore if design pattern detection could be also useful in the migration process: knowing that some design patterns have been applied in the system could give relevant hints to take decisions during migration.

Design patterns detection is a useful activity in reverse engineering to gain knowledge on the design issues of an existing system, on its software architecture and design quality, improving in this way the comprehension of the system and hence its maintainability and evolution. Several tools have been developed, but they usually provide different results analyzing the same systems. Some works have been proposed in the literature to compare these results, but a standard widely accepted benchmark is not yet available. In this work we propose our benchmark platform for design patterns detection, based on a community driven evaluation.

It is well known that software maintenance and evolution are expensive activities, both in terms of invested time and money. Reverse engineering activities support the obtainment of abstractions and views from a target system that should help the engineers to maintain, evolve and eventually re-engineer it. Two important tasks pursued by reverse engineering are design pattern detection and software architecture reconstruction, whose main objectives are the identification of the design patterns that have been used in the implementation of a system as well as the generation of views placed at different levels of abstractions, that let the practitioners focus on the overall architecture of the system without minding at the programming details it has been implemented with. In this context we propose an Eclipse plug-in called MARPLE (Metrics and Architecture Reconstruction Plug-in for Eclipse), which supports both the detection of design patterns and software architecture reconstruction activities through the use of basic elements and metrics that are mechanically extracted from source code.
