Bullying in schools is an issue that has drawn significant attention in the last 15 years from researchers, educators, and policymakers. Bullying can have different forms, including physical, verbal, or even cyberbullying, each with implications not only for the victims, but also for the bully and the school environment. In spite of different types of measures that have been implemented, the problem is still persistent, affecting students' mental health and furthermore potential mental disorder in adulthood. The article plans to explore the prevalence of the phenomenon, highlights on factors that can be triggers and on proposal of effective intervention strategies in order to better understand the dynamics of the phenomenon. The article was elaborated within the MarginalRural project, a grant of the Romanian Academy, carried out between 2019 and 2022. The purpose of the grant was to collect data from several rural and small urban communities and analyze the demographic data but also data regarding infrastructure, health and education services, sources of income, local employers and more. The analysis included different perspectives, respectively an institutional one (through the opinions of representatives of public institutions), an entrepreneurial one (through the reflected opinion in interviews with local entrepreneurs) and that of vulnerable groups (through the opinions of interviewed disadvantaged people). The article is based on a data collection from the project Marginal Rural, a grant of Romanian Academy, carried out between 2019 and 2022. The aim of the project was to collect data from several rural and small urban communities and analyze socio-demographic data, but also look at indicators regarding infrastructure, health and education services, sources of income, local employers, or the phenomenon of migration for working. The analysis included different perspectives, respectively an institutional one (through the opinions of representatives of public institutions), an entrepreneurial one (through the opinion reflected in interviews with local entrepreneurs) and the vulnerable groups' one (through the opinions reflected from the focus group organized with disadvantaged people). We looked at the phenomenon of rural development/underdevelopment and potential marginalized rural areas. Marginalization represents a social phenomenon, fuelled by the socio-economic context that followed the 1989 revolution. The completion of the transition from the socialist regime towards free-market economy implied high social costs for a part of the population, including poverty and social exclusion. The project begins from the coordinates provided by the sociological literature which show that local underdevelopment is the result of structural factors as lack of employment and the predominance of employment in (subsistence) agriculture, lack of infrastructure (access to public utilities such as gas, drinking water or paved roads) but also the distance to the nearest city that could be a pole of development or human capital (the education stock of the local population) and it tries to refine the analysis by overlapping the typology looking at local contexts and by deciphering the factors and mechanisms of underdevelopment at local level. The proposed approach has an exploratory character. The article explain this approach in the first part, and in the second part presents a synthesis of the results of the analysis of the data collected in Alba county (as an exploratory case study) for testing the research tools in the first phase of the project. The article analyzes some characteristics of the nowadays development of health policies, referring to the phases of the process of elaboration of public policies in health, to the new public management and to some characteristics that limit the reform process such as incrementalism, uncertainty and limited rationality theory. Also, it talks about deciding systems with closed structures, or about the limited capacity of the policy to reform the institutions, the windows of opportunity or sectoriality of the health policies. The second chapter refers at children's rights: the discourse on children's rights is relatively new, the authors show, even within the modern human rights discussion. The current article describes the development of a methodology to collect field data in order to measure poverty and in work poverty at local level and it is part of a set of methodologies developed in order to map existing / necessary social services and infrastructure, poverty and in work poverty in Romania, for The Romanian Ministry of Labour and Social Justice. The article highlights the sources of data for this demarche and it also explains step by step the design, the used indicators and the research tools for field data collection. The proposed model will use locally collected data for all localities in Romania and therefore provides the premises for in-depth analyses at regional, county, but also local level, with various analysis objectives. The article presents several findings of a study conducted in 2015 by a small team of researchers of The Research Institute for Quality of Life, at the proposal of the National Penitentiary Administration (NPA), regarding the main aspects of the prisoners? quality of life in penitentiaries. Covered topics include: housing, nutrition, health and education services provided in the penitentiary, systemic aspects that influence prisoners? quality of life. The study has a consistent qualitative component, based on data obtained by authors, from visiting several penitentiaries. The methodology includes the observation of the visited detention areas, interviews with the prisons? staff and the prisoners, also, the application of a questionnaire to a number of 78 inmates. All work situations can potentially generate conflicts, which can lead to risks of abuses, aggression. In any organization, there are divergences of opinion, conflict, power struggle as normal manifestations of the organization. Some of these conflictual situations are solved, but another can degenerate into aggression. Mobbing is that form of psychological aggression, exercised over a period of minimum several months by one or more colleagues over another, through a series of actions designed to discreditate and isolate that person. The role of the employee in the organization and his/her professional capacities are deliberately underestimated through various discredits, humiliations, in order to remove the person from organization. Victims of mobbing in most cases end up resigning because they no longer deal with pressure. Repercussions are psychical and social: falling confidence in professional skills, stress, deteriorating family relationships on the background of stress but also physical: depression or health problems. Also, there are consequences for the working environment of the organization regarding work performance and employee relationships. The aim of this study is to discuss how social costs in health social policies can be evaluated. Which are implications of health policy decisions, embodied in what I have called the social costs of these decisions? Among the social costs that we can intuitively detect are poor indicators of health status and poor indicators of health system, poor indicators in equal distribution of services. Are these enough indicators to measure social costs in health social policies? We present a rare case of breast neoplasm, synchronous (simultaneous) bilateral breast cancer, methods of diagnosis, multimodal treatment and the standard follow-up program. Bilateral breast cancer is a rare entity, with an incidence between 0.3 and 12%, representing 1 to 2.6% of all breast cancers. Bilateral breast cancer is defined as the presence of cancer cells in both breasts at the same time or at a distance of up to 3 months from the identification of the first tumor (synchronous), or metachronous if it occurs after more than 3 months from the identification of the primary tumor. There is not a general agreement regarding the optimal treatment. The prognosis is considered more severe than that of a unilateral neoplasm and the patients are treated more frequently by undergoing bilateral mastectomy rather than conservative surgery. We present the case of a 57-year-old patient diagnosed by clinical and imaging investigations (mammography, MRI) with bilateral breast tumor formations. The 57-year-old patient was referred to our clinic for a bilateral synchronous breast pathology. The pathological examination of the biopsy revealed bilateral invasive ductal breast cancer, with an intermediate histological grade G2, ER +, PR +, HER2 - (score 0 ASCO-CAP). Therefore, the diagnosis was simultaneous bilateral breast cancer, a rare entity which represents the real bilateral cancer of the breast. Neoadjuvant therapy was started and then Madden modified radical mastectomy was performed. The histopathological examination confirmed the invasive ductal carcinoma in the left breast - pT1cN1aG2 and in the right breastpT1cN0aG2. Considering that it is a rare variant of breast cancer, with a severe prognosis, the presented case reflects the current diagnostic and treatment approaches, and the gaining of better long-term results are ensured by a correct multidisciplinary approach. This article is part of a broader analysis, which is based on qualitative data collection by interviewing a sample of physicians. Data collection was conducted from November 2014 to March 2015. There were interviewed a total number of 40 physicians in Bucharest. Most of those interviewed are specialists working in state hospitals or are family physicians. Their perceptions upon how the medical system works show their displeasure against low wages, disorganization in the system, less efficient management of financial and human resources in the system. They pull the alarm on the phenomenon of massive migration of physicians and health indicators of the population. Rates of morbidity and mortality in Romania are a blend of specific indicators for developed countries with specific indicators for developing countries. Although most health indicators have improved over the last two decades, a number of indicators are still very problematic, with significant gaps compared to the EU average. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
