This study aimed to classify male athletes based on their performance levels derived from running critical power (CP) using the 9/3-minute Stryd CP test, enabling customized training strategies and goal setting. Twenty-four trained athletes underwent the 9/3-minute running CP test on a certified 400-m athletics track. Hierarchical cluster analysis using Ward's method categorized athletes based on CP into distinct performance tiers. Three clusters were identified with centroids of 3.87±0.12, 4.45±0.17, and 5.14±0.29 W/kg. Five performance tiers were defined through ordinary least square linear regression based on power (W/kg): Tier 1: Fair (2.9 to 3.6 W/kg), Tier 2: Tourist (3.6 to 4.2 W/kg), Tier 3: Regional (4.2 to 4.8 W/kg), Tier 4: National (4.8 to 5.5 W/kg), Tier 5: International (5.5 to 6.1 W/kg). Low semi-partial R-squared (Sp R2) values (0.02 to 0.05) indicated minimal homogeneity loss when merging clusters. R-squared (R2) explained 89% to 96% of CP variance, emphasizing cluster analysis effectiveness. The linear regression model demonstrated a strong fit (r2 +=+0.997) with a significant intercept (3.22 W/kg), slope (0.63 W/kg/tier), and a low standard error of estimate (0.045 W/kg). The past few decades have seen robust research on questions regarding the existence, form, and properties of stationary distributions of stochastically modeled reaction networks. When a stochastic model admits a stationary distribution an important practical question is: what is the rate of convergence of the distribution of the process to the stationary distribution? With the exception of [1] pertaining to models whose state space is restricted to the non-negative integers, there has been a notable lack of results related to this rate of convergence in the reaction network literature. This paper begins the process of filling that hole in our understanding. In this paper, we characterize this rate of convergence, via the mixing times of the processes, for two classes of stochastically modeled reaction networks. Specifically, by applying a Foster-Lyapunov criteria we establish exponential ergodicity for two classes of reaction networks introduced in [2]. Moreover, we show that for one of the classes the convergence is uniform over the initial state.

The present study aimed to analyze swimmers' in-water kinetic and kinematic behaviors according to different swimming performance tiers within the same age group. An amount of 53 highly trained swimmers (girls and boys: 12.40 ± 0.74 years) were split up into 3 tiers based on their personal best performance (i.e., speed) in the 50 m freestyle event (short-course): lower-tier (1.25 ± 0.08 m·s−1); mid-tier (1.45 ± 0.04 m·s−1); and top-tier (1.60 ± 0.04 m·s−1). The in-water mean peak force was measured during a maximum bout of 25 m front crawl using a differential pressure sensors system (Aquanex system, Swimming Technology Research, Richmond, VA, USA) and defined as a kinetic variable, while speed, stroke rate, stroke length, and stroke index were retrieved and considered as kinematic measures. The top-tier swimmers were taller with a longer arm span and hand surface areas than the low-tier, but similar to the mid-tier. While the mean peak force, speed and efficiency differed among tiers, the stroke rate and stroke length showed mixed findings. BackgroundCurrent guidelines for the treatment of adult severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) consist of high-quality evidence reports, but they are no longer accompanied by management protocols, as these require expert opinion to bridge the gap between published evidence and patient care. We aimed to establish a modern sTBI protocol for adult patients with both intracranial pressure (ICP) and brain oxygen monitors in place.MethodsOur consensus working group consisted of 42 experienced and actively practicing sTBI opinion leaders from six continents. Having previously established a protocol for the treatment of patients with ICP monitoring alone, we addressed patients who have a brain oxygen monitor in addition to an ICP monitor. The management protocols were developed through a Delphi-method-based consensus approach and were finalized at an in-person meeting.ResultsWe established three distinct treatment protocols, each with three tiers whereby higher tiers involve therapies with higher risk. One protocol addresses the management of ICP elevation when brain oxygenation is normal. A second addresses management of brain hypoxia with normal ICP. The third protocol addresses the situation when both intracranial hypertension and brain hypoxia are present. The panel considered issues pertaining to blood transfusion and ventilator management when designing the different algorithms.ConclusionsThese protocols are intended to assist clinicians in the management of patients with both ICP and brain oxygen monitors but they do not reflect either a standard-of-care or a substitute for thoughtful individualized management. These protocols should be used in conjunction with recommendations for basic care, management of critical neuroworsening and weaning treatment recently published in conjunction with the Seattle International Brain Injury Consensus Conference.

BackgroundManagement algorithms for adult severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) were omitted in later editions of the Brain Trauma Foundation's sTBI Management Guidelines, as they were not evidence-based.MethodsWe used a Delphi-method-based consensus approach to address management of sTBI patients undergoing intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring. Forty-two experienced, clinically active sTBI specialists from six continents comprised the panel. Eight surveys iterated queries and comments. An in-person meeting included whole- and small-group discussions and blinded voting. Consensus required 80% agreement. We developed heatmaps based on a traffic-light model where panelists' decision tendencies were the focus of recommendations.ResultsWe provide comprehensive algorithms for ICP-monitor-based adult sTBI management. Consensus established 18 interventions as fundamental and ten treatments not to be used. We provide a three-tier algorithm for treating elevated ICP. Treatments within a tier are considered empirically equivalent. Higher tiers involve higher risk therapies. Tiers 1, 2, and 3 include 10, 4, and 3 interventions, respectively. We include inter-tier considerations, and recommendations for critical neuroworsening to assist the recognition and treatment of declining patients. Novel elements include guidance for autoregulation-based ICP treatment based on MAP Challenge results, and two heatmaps to guide (1) ICP-monitor removal and (2) consideration of sedation holidays for neurological examination.ConclusionsOur modern and comprehensive sTBI-management protocol is designed to assist clinicians managing sTBI patients monitored with ICP-monitors alone. Consensus-based (class III evidence), it provides management recommendations based on combined expert opinion. It reflects neither a standard-of-care nor a substitute for thoughtful individualized management.

Natural heritage (NH) includes natural features that can be described as outstanding universal value at a national level. It refers to the importance of ecosystems, biodiversity, and geodiversity for their existence value, and the ecosystems can be considered as the spatial units for its mapping and assessment. The ecosystem services (ES) concept provides an appropriate basis in the form of assessment and mapping methods that enable linking the state of ecosystems with human well-being. Thus, it can be used as a platform to find solutions to the problems related to the conflicts between conservation and the use of the NH. In this paper, we aim to present the process of developing a methodological framework for mapping and assessment of ecosystem services provided by the natural heritage in Bulgaria for recreation and tourism. The conceptual framework of the ecosystem-based assessment of NH in Bulgaria is based on the assumption that the generation of NH for the needs of tourism can be presented as the linkages between the natural systems and tourism in the form of ES potential, flow, and demand. The results demonstrate that the NH can be presented as a spatial phenomenon conceptualized by the flows of benefits from ecosystems to people which contribute to human well-being. The mapping and assessment procedures are fully developed for application at a national level, while for the regional and local level, few pilot studies mark some basic foundations for further development.

Introduction/Objectives: If considering that experiential knowledge of people living with chronic conditions is one of the foundations of therapeutic education, the consolidation of partnerships requires a learning process and an evolution in the practice of the various players. This article presents the intervention approach of the regional patient education resource center – IdF in supporting the development of cooperative practices between health care professionals and patients. Contributions/Description: From a description of the co-construction of two multi-partner projects, we will explore the elements facilitating the commitment of partners and building solutions corresponding to patient needs. We emphasize the importance of co-designing projects, determining common values and principles collective governance, facilitating dialogue for practice analysis, tools for promoting cooperation, and participatory and formative evaluation. Discussion/Conclusion: The function of third-party "terceisation" of the Pôle ETP and the central role of the "patient perspective" are two elements to be leveraged in the co-construction process. Beyond the resulting material solutions, the immaterial effects include the empowerment of participants, on an individual level, but also potentially collectively and at an organizational level. Family-centered early intervention (FCEI) is characterized by the collaborative relationships that exist within triads of practitioners, caregivers, and young children whereby practitioners use capacity-building practices to foster caregivers' involvement in supporting their children's early development. Traditionally, FCEI has been provided in-person with practitioners and families physically present in the same location but, for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, access to in-person early intervention is often limited by external factors. To address these challenges, practitioners are using telepractice more frequently to connect with families through synchronous, 2-way videoconferencing. This exploratory study examined whether participants' behaviors differed when FCEI was delivered in-person and through telepractice. The Triadic Intervention and Evaluation Rating Scale (TIERS) was used to compare 2 groups of triads (16 in-person and 12 telepractice) in terms of practitioner behaviors, caregiver behaviors, and the reciprocal influences of those behaviors. Results indicated that practitioners in telepractice used most family-centered practices more frequently than practitioners in-person. Correspondingly, caregivers in telepractice had more opportunities to participate in early intervention and more frequently demonstrated a variety of participation behaviors than caregivers in-person. Although further research is required to confirm these exploratory findings, these results suggest that FCEI provided through telepractice may enhance practitioners' use of family-centered practices, which, in turn, supports greater participation by caregivers. Versatile Video Coding (VVC), a.k.a. ITU-T H.266 | ISO/IEC 23090-3, is the new generation video coding standard that has just been finalized by the Joint Video Experts Team (JVET) of ITU-T VCEG and ISO/IEC MPEG at its $19^{\mathrm {th}}$ meeting ending on July 1, 2020. This paper gives an overview of the VVC high-level syntax (HLS), which forms its system and transport interface. Comparisons to the HLS designs in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and Advanced Video Coding (AVC), the previous major video coding standards, are included. When discussing new HLS features introduced into VVC or differences relative to HEVC and AVC, the reasoning behind the design differences and the benefits they bring are described. The HLS of VVC enables newer and more versatile use cases such as video region extraction, composition and merging of content from multiple coded video bitstreams, and viewport-adaptive 360° immersive media. Whether we analyze phonological processes using a system of rules or constraints, the resulting map from underlying representations to surface pronunciations can be characterized as a function. Viewing processes as mathematical objects in this way allows us to study properties of phonology that hold no matter how it is implemented. Work in this vein has found that a majority of phonological processes only consider information within a finite window, placing them in the highly restrictive class of Strictly Local (SL) functions (Chandlee 2014; Chandlee et al. 2014; 2015). Long-distance phonological processes, however, lie outside the capabilities of the SL functions since they consider information that can be arbitrarily distant. The more powerful class of subsequential functions has been offered as a potential characterization of long-distance phonology (Heinz & Lai 2013; Luo 2017; Payne 2017), but we argue that an intermediate class offers a more natural model. Specifically, by incorporating an autosegmental tier (e.g., Goldsmith 1976) into the structure of an SL function, the non-local information crucial for applying long- distance processes can be rendered local. In addition to assessing the typological coverage of these Tier-based Strictly Local functions (Burness & McMullin 2019; Hao & Andersson 2019; Hao & Bowers 2019), we show that they fail to generate two pathological behaviours (minimum distance requirements and modulo counting) that can be accomplished with a subsequential function. We therefore conclude that tier-based computation is a better characterization of long-distance phonology than subsequential computation.

This paper contains reflections on the use of the imagination in technologically-mediated therapy and analysis. As part of the individuation process the psyche is seen as needing to adapt to new technological ways of communicating. The notion of a technologically-mediated self is posited describing a self which can only be apprehended through, and by, the use of telecommunications. This self is seen as identical to the in-person self, a subset, or superset of it. There is a revisioning of our notions of the container and the field in this work performed through technological-mediation. The need to engage the imagination in approaching this kind of work is emphasized in order to create an imaginal play-space in which the body will be deeply affected. The Authors consider the intersubjective and intrapsychic dynamics going along with the transformations to the marriage bond with parenthood experience. The creation of parental bonds requires to renounce idealized mirroring and to re-elaborate the uncanny experience of third parties, starting with the founding origins of identity. When the tertiary processes are not sufficiently completed, the need for subjectivation and differentiation is transformed into the need for intersubjective separation. Under such circumstances, only the actual separation allows, after crossing phases of acute pain, to truly experience the Other, rebalancing the dialectic between Eros and Thànatos. This process is reactivated by the adolescent child's puberty, mobilizing what has been removed or split in the current family and parental structures. In the institutional work with adolescent families, especially in the most difficult cases, the psychic groupality, activated by supervision and co-vision, represents an ineludible experience of thirdness. It activates the fundamental processes of the primary scene (Gaddini, 1974) which continuously repeating itself over time, allows the therapist to elaborate his position in front of the "disturbing" and parents to feel accompanied in crossing the pain of separation, intended as a transformational process and not as a disruption of their bond. Making public school accommodating of all learners such that the need for special education is obviated, or at least reduced, has long been a desideratum of educators. Various strategies for making general public education more accommodating of students with disabilities have been tried. The most recent efforts to improve the general education of students with disabilities involve various models of tiered education. Educational tiers can be logical and advantageous in some ways, holding promise for improving general education, but they do not address the core problems of special education. Special education is still needed as part of inclusive education.

Microgrids are usually based on single voltage levels, supporting a number of distributed generation sources and loads. This paper describes a multi-tier DC microgrid, with multiple voltage levels able to source and supply different power demands. A universal droop controller is developed for this multi-tier microgrid, able to connect uni- and bi-directional elements on to the grid. Simulations are used to demonstrate the functionality of the controller to allow autonomous load sharing based on decentralised control, with bi-directional power transfer between tiers to balance supply and demand at each level. Power can also be directly sent from one element of the microgrid to another, which is demonstrated through simulation, allowing for integration with future peer-to-peer energy trading systems.

The psychoanalytic consultation has taken its full place in psychoanalytic clinic and transmission, alongside care, with the opening of free clinics as Freud wished. The Center for Psychoanalytic Consultations and Treatments Jean-Favreau is part of this continuity. Research within a peer group has been going on for many years in this center, according to the modalities of a group associative work. Interanalytic discussions, based on "secondary listening" of clinical sequences, draw on the institutionalization of the consultation / treatment duality. Sustainable fisheries management plays a critical role in supporting healthy marine ecosystems and the livelihoods of millions of people. An emerging view on fisheries management emphasizes the need to manage fisheries as complex social-ecological systems. Yet, our understanding of the outcomes of fisheries management from a social-ecological perspective is limited in comparison to that provided by either the biophysical or the social perspective alone. In the Baltic Sea, management interventions focused on ecosystem recovery contributed to unintended changes from 1996 to 2009 in the fishing strategy diversity practiced by Swedish fishers. We evaluate how the changes in strategy diversification affected the capacity of Swedish fishers to adapt to future ecosystem changes. To do this, we constructed and analyzed social-ecological fisheries networks. Our analysis confirmed the previously reported development of a narrower combination of fishing strategies among large-scale fishers, parallel with a diversification in small-scale fishers' strategies. However, the results demonstrated that switching fishing strategies has, in fact, increased in magnitude, and the fishers were more equally distributed in different fishing strategies in 2009 than in 1996. Further, we detected a development toward lower ecological dependency between fishing strategies within the community, although the strategies remained connected through ecological interactions. In conclusion, our analysis of the social-ecological interdependencies suggests that the previously reported changes in the fishing strategy diversity increased the adaptability of the Swedish Baltic Sea fishers to changing ecological conditions. On the other hand, the changes may have made the Baltic Sea more vulnerable to poor management. This empirical study emphasizes the importance of a social-ecological approach on fisheries research and management. Our results show that appreciating the complexity and changing nature of fisher behavior is crucial when assessing fisheries management outcomes, and when designing policies that aim to maintain adaptability in the uncertain and dynamic fish industry.

In this paper the authors investigate a less documented side of street children’s (bakoroman) lives in Ouagadougou, namely, their encounters with strangers in town. These encounters lead to resources such as relationships, goods, protective time and space, or learning opportunities and punctuate the narratives of the bakoroman. They are one of the main dimensions of their lives in the urban public space as they go back and forth between the street and their homes (institutional and family). As such, these interactions participate in the construction of their biographical trajectories and bifurcations. From minimum reciprocity to relational vigilance, a broad spectrum of interactions delineates the possibilities and limits of an «ethics of fragility». Across these encounters the children create their space in the city, through circumstantial pedagogies of living together. These interactions can be read as resources to regulate urban violence, other than institutional or charitable interventions.
