Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, it is the primary cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality. The prevalence of the disease is estimated as high as 25% of the general population up to 90% of obese and diabetic patients. Most patients are asymptomatic or does not experience specific complaints making them difficult to diagnose and treat. However, due to the limitations of available diagnostic procedures and the current gold standard for diagnosis, the liver biopsy, there is a worldwide demand to develop a non-invasive diagnostic tool and procedure that can detect the disease with high accuracy at an early reversible stage, furthermore is cost-effective, user-friendly, and provides repeatable measurement. Based on the metrological experience of our research team, we started developing an electrical impedance-based diagnostic procedure a few years ago that meets these requirements and is suitable for early detection of NAFLD with the help of a world-new measurement and data collection solution. In this article, we present the most important milestones in the development of instruments related to research.

A central goal of systems neuroscience is to simultaneously measure the activities of all achievable neurons in the brain at millisecond resolution in freely moving animals. This paper describes a protocol converter which is part of a measurement acquisition system for multichannel real time recording of brain signals. In practice, in such techniques, a primary consideration of reliability leads to great necessity towards increasing the sampling rate of these signals while simultaneously increasing the resolution of A/D conversion to 24 bits or even to the unprecedented 32 bits per sample. In fact, this was the guiding principle for our team in the present study. Robotic arms are widely used in the industry, research and even in some consumer products. They are used to automate movements or to substitute humans for various reasons. These can be hazardous environment, for example radiation, extreme heat, lack of oxygen; or other factors, like long travel time as in case with the robotic arm of a Mars rover. In both cases, it is crucial to allow controlling the arm from the distance. The solution described in this research uses a cloud service to connect the client software and the device itself. The client application then can be deployed to computers, tablets, even mobile phones with internet access.

Intelligent systems often show incompatibility between healthcare levels. The work of medical professionals on each stage is often individual; multilevel interdisciplinary consultations, consilia, diagnostic and a coordinated approach is limited by existing differences. The aim of this work is to point out potential benefits of integrating healthcare levels on the basis of intelligent systems.

In education today distance education students can easily integrate into almost all types of classes except when it comes to laboratory measurements. The laboratory measurements require physical presence of the student in the laboratory. When physical presence of the students is not possible the only way to perform the measurements is to alter the exercises to compensate for deficiency in equipment for remote access which results in separate exercises for distance education students. The purpose of this research was to find ways to integrate the distance education students into the laboratory for mechatronical measurements, without the physical presence or altering the laboratory exercise so regular and distance education students can attend to the same classes. The equipment is comprised of web cameras, National Instruments hardware and graphical user interface for remote access.

The human factor is the cause, interacting party and object of intelligent systems in medicine. This paper deals with the failures of successful interaction between medical hardware, software and personnel which ultimately leads to medical errors; their correlation to medical legal consequences, costs, usability and safety discussing possible amendments. The present work besides presenting a multilevel and interdisciplinary theoretical and practical approach, researched practical cases having direct influence on morbidity and mortality.

Medical informatics finds wide use on all the levels of healthcare. Intelligent medical systems are successfully applied at all 5 degrees of preserving health: the promotion of health, specific medical prevention, early diagnosis and therapy, sequel prevention and rehabilitation. In conditions of intensive changes and development, when the Serbian healthcare system is in the process of radical reorganization, especially in the present year of 2012, new challenges and needs are created for the implementation of newer, more modern intelligent systems on all the levels of health care. The present work is dealing with the analysis of benefits and challenges which are the result of applied and planned information systems in our country.

This paper presents a software system which was designed as a tool for enhancing education process in the embedded system classes. Over the years it was established that students waste the majority of their time in classes on adopting software interface which leaves them with very little time to master the key principles in the curriculum. This is especially true in the case of the embedded systems because there students must learn to work with several software packets. The developed software system allows students to concentrate on just one graphical interface which is intended to handle every aspect of embedded system design - from algorithm simulation to the hardware implementation. Apart from this the system is capable of communicating with the third party software without burdening the user with the new interface.

This development opened the way for the creation of mobile devices with the graphical and sound interfaces in order to simplify and enhance the communication between people and machines. Additional adjustment to this hardware, primarily dictated by the software, led to the possibility of improving the methods and the speed in which the students absorb the new knowledge. Currently there are no standardized solutions in the education that regulates use of the electronic devices as aid in the classes. The proposed system incorporates not only custom-designed devices for the education but also allows the integration with available technical solutions.

Neuro-fuzzy systems are widely used in both applied and experimental medicine and are one of the most modern subjects of today's Medical Informatics. Despite the initial refuse of their use due to informatical, economical, educational and other reasons, these systems are widely accepted in medical institutions operating in all levels of healthcare. The accuracy of some up-to-date neuro-fuzzy systems today matches or even surpasses the diagnostic abilities of physicians, thus holding an important role in risk-assessment and diagnostics in medicine. This work deals with newer applications of these systems in medicine along with the possibility of their implementation in the region of Central Europe.

The application of neuro-fuzzy systems in the fields of medical sciences are increasing in parallel with the rapid evolution of diagnostic and treatment procedures in medicine. Contemporary literature provides us with many examples that this cooperation has brought many benefits in the fields of diagnostics and risk assessment in medicine. In Serbia, similar to those more developed countries, these systems have found their application from all branches from primary to tertial health care and in those institutions that work on more than one levels of healthcare. It seems that the well documented initial refuse towards the use of neuro-fuzzy systems by physicians starts lose its power.

This paper presents a practical solution for monitoring students in education. This was achieved by the utilization of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. The RFID system was integrated with the server database through Ethernet network. The database was developed in such a manner that it allows the examination of students activities in order to improve the quality of classes. Using the system described in this article will make it considerably easier to achieve a better insight into students activities which will ultimately led to better understanding of their needs.

This device is a two-independent-front-wheel-driven robot vehicle. Each of the two front wheels is driven by an engine. The steering and running of the device is insured by these two engines. The vehicle is running on a given path with a given speed due to control circles. By increasing the number of sensors annexed to the control part of the robot vehicle, the device obtains wider autonomy.
