To solve the problem of poor face recognition performance in unrestricted environments. A face recognition algorithm based on improved residual IR-ResNet-SE is designed. Firstly, the IR structure is added to the 34-layer residual network to reduce the variability of different features; Secondly, we add the channel attention module to increase the weight of important channel features; Finally, the Arcface loss function is used to improve the classification ability of the model. The LFW, AgeDB, and AR datasets reflect unrestricted factors such as pose, age, expression, occlusion, and illumination. The algorithm proposed in this paper is experimented on these three datasets. The experimental results show that the IR-ResNet-SE algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve 99.74% accuracy in the dataset LFW. And it has excellent robustness in face recognition under unrestricted conditions. &nbsp

Under ideal illumination conditions, the existing face recognition algorithms can obtain better recognition results.However, under non-uniform illumination conditions, the performance of the face recognition algorithm will be greatly reduced. Moreover, the commonfacial image classification modelshavelowprecisionandspeed. To address these problems, this paper proposes a non-uniform illumination face recognition method based on the improved MobileNetV1, and constructs a lightweight feature extraction network with MobileNetV1 as the core. To reduce the influence of non-uniform illumination on the face image, we use the MSRCR algorithm to preprocess the face image. A lightweight I-MobileNet model is proposed. We introduce the attention module into the MobileNetV1 model, which enhances the feature extraction capability of the network and improves the recognition performance. At the same time, the model parameters are optimized with Arcface loss function to increase the distance between classes and reduce the distance within classes. Compared with the original MobileNetV1 model, our method shows a significant improvement in recognition accuracy. In comparison with other network models, experiments conducted on the Extended Yale B dataset with the I-MobileNet model demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. &nbsp

Facial expression recognition is widely used, but there are some problems such as complex scenes, lack of data sets and low recognition rate. In this paper, we construct a new network model and name it RNFC. The RNFC network adopts 6 improved residual blocks to extract features. Features are passed into the fully connected layer by flattening the data, and Dropout techniques are introduced between the fully connected layers to prevent overfitting of the model. Based on the pytorch framework, we use a cross-entropy loss function to improve the training speed of the network. And perform denoising and enhancement pre-processing on the FER2013 dataset. The RNFC network is trained and tested on the pretreated FER2013. It has a higher recognition rate than classical networks such as VGGnet19 and ResNet18. &nbsp

Glandular secretory trichomes (GSTs) can secrete and store a variety of specific metabolites. By increasing GST density, valuable metabolites can be enhanced in terms of productivity. However, the comprehensive and detailed regulatory network of GST initiation still needs further investigation. By screening a complementary DNA library derived from young leaves of Artemisia annua, we identified a MADS-box transcription factor, AaSEPALLATA1 (AaSEP1), that positively regulates GST initiation. Overexpression of AaSEP1 in A. annua substantially increased GST density and artemisinin content. The HOMEODOMAIN PROTEIN 1 (AaHD1)-AaMYB16 regulatory network regulates GST initiation via the jasmonate (JA) signaling pathway. In this study, AaSEP1 enhanced the function of AaHD1 activation on downstream GST initiation gene GLANDULAR TRICHOME-SPECIFIC WRKY 2 (AaGSW2) through interaction with AaMYB16. Moreover, AaSEP1 interacted with the JA ZIM-domain 8 (AaJAZ8) and served as an important factor in JA-mediated GST initiation. We also found that AaSEP1 interacted with CONSTITUTIVE PHOTOMORPHOGENIC 1 (AaCOP1), a major repressor of light signaling. In this study, we identified a MADS-box transcription factor that is induced by JA and light signaling and that promotes the initiation of GST in A. annua.

Dahuang Zhechong pill (DHZCP) is a traditional Chinese herbal compound successful in the treatment of hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma. DHZCP can heal and nourish while slowing the onset of the disease, thereby strengthening the body's immune function. It can localize tumors and ultimately achieve the goal of eliminating tumors. Metal–organic framework (MOF) derived hybrid materials have been developed as an efficient non-noble-metal electrocatalysts for clean energy conversion systems. In this work, a Co-based MOF containing nitrogen and oxygen heteroatoms (Co-NOMOF) mixed with the thiomolybdate [Mo3S13]2− nanoclusters was used to prepare the N, S, O-doped carbon encapsulating Co9S8 and MoS2 (Co9S8/MoS2@NSOC) nanocomposite by one-step pyrolysis. The Co9S8/MoS2@NSOC nanocomposite exhibited remarkable catalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with overpotential of 194 and 233 mV in 1 M KOH and 0.5 M H2SO4 solution under 10 mA cm−2, respectively, which was ascribed to the multiheteroatom-doped hierarchical porous carbon matrix and the synergistic effect of intrinsic activity of Co9S8 and MoS2. This work provides new opportunity for developing highly efficient non-precious metal electrochemical catalysts.

Interleukin (IL)-11 is a multifunctional cytokine belonging to the IL-6 family, which plays essential roles in immune response. However, much less is known about the immunological functions of IL-11 in teleost. In this study, we investigated the immune properties of a teleost IL-11 homologue (CsIL-11) from tongue sole Cynoglossus semilaevis. CsIL-11 possesses four conserved α-helices and conserved CsIL-11 receptor binding residues L86 and R187, and shares 23.3%-80.1% identities with other IL-11 homologues. CsIL-11 expression was constitutive in tissues, with most abundant in blood and least abundant in spleen, and upregulated by bacterial challenge in blood, spleen, and head kidney. Recombinant CsIL-11 (rCsIL-11) in the native form of monomer, could bind to peripheral blood leukocytes (PBLs) membrane and enhance the activation and phagocytosis of PBLs. When administered in vivo, rCsIL-11 could markedly promote the host to defend against microbial infection. Overall, our findings show that CsIL-11 plays a pivotal role in regulating PBLs phagocytosis and antibacterial immunity.

Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) highly expressed in most of the cancer cells. The Mn(II)-aptamer based nanoclusters with 3D structures would be HIF-aptamer based targeted magnetic resonance imaging agents for cancer MRI diagnosis. Herein, a new class of contrast agent Mn(II) silver-aptamer clusters (AdpaMn@DNA-Ag-DNAG1) were constructed based on the assembly of DNA-mediated Ag nanoclusters (DNA–AgNCs) with the Mn(II) complex (AdpaMn) and DNAG1, the recognition sequence of GLUT-1. Then, the Mn(II) silver-aptamer clusters (AdpaMn@DNA-Ag-DNAG1) are used as the MRI agents both in vitro and in vivo. The results show that the MRI signal is clearly presented in the tumor position. Consequently, the Mn(II) silver-aptamer clusters can be used as a new class of contrast agents for targeted MR imaging of tumors.

In this paper a new kind of solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) based on thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is fabricated. With the dispersion of Li7La3Zr2O12 powders, the lithium ionic conductivity of the SPE can be improved effectively. By optimizing the amount of Li7La3Zr2O12, an ionic conductivity of 8.89 × 10− 5 S cm− 1 at 80 °C is achieved. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy are employed to analyze the crystallinity and microstructure of the SPE samples. The all-solid-state lithium ion cells with the TPU-based SPE as solid electrolyte and LiFePO4 as active cathode material are assembled through a simple blade-coating method. Such all-solid-state cells exhibit a specific capacity (160 mAh g− 1) comparable with the traditional cells using organic liquid electrolyte at the current density of 5.3 μA cm− 2. To further investigate the electrochemical performances of the all-solid-state cells, the cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic cycling are also performed and analyzed.

In this study, we report that LncRNA ANRIL, which encodes a 3834-nt RNA that contains 19 exons at the antisense orientation of the INK4B-ARF-INK4A gene cluster, generally up-regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma [ 1 ]. In a cohort of 88 NPC patients, ANRIL was highly expressed in advanced-stage cancer. Multivariate analyses revealed that ANRIL expression could serve as an independent predictor of overall survival ( P = 0.027) and disease-free survival ( P = 0.033). Further investigation showed that knockdown of ANRIL significantly repressed NPC cell proliferation and transformation. We also found that ANRIL could induce the percentage of side population cells (SP cells) in NPC. To meet the urgent needs of energy provision, ANRIL can also reprogram glucose metabolism via increasing glucose uptake for glycolysis, which was regulated by the mTOR signal pathway to affect the expression of essential genes in glycolysis. We concluded that ANRIL could promote NPC progression via increasing cell proliferation, reprograming cell glucose metabolism and inducing side-population stem-like cancer cells. Our results also suggested that ANRIL may serve as a novel diagnostic or prognostic biomarker and a candidate target for new therapies in NPC.

Ultrathin electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials promise great application potential in portable electronic devices and communication instruments. Lightweight graphene-based materials have been pursued for their exclusive microstructures and unique shielding mechanism. However, the large thickness of the current low-density graphene-based composites still limits their application potential in ultrathin devices. In this work, a novel approach has been taken to use conductive graphene paper (GP) in the fabrication of ultrathin EMI shielding materials. The as-prepared flexible GPs exhibit highly effective shielding capabilities, reaching ∼19.0 dB at ∼0.1 mm in thickness and ∼46.3 dB at ∼0.3 mm in thickness, thus the thinnest GPs having the best shielding performance among graphene-based shielding materials. Double-layered shielding attenuators have been designed and fabricated for a high shielding performance of up to ∼47.7 dB at a GP thickness of ∼0.1 mm. Mechanistically, the high performance should be due to Fabry–Perot resonance, which is unusual in carbon-based shielding materials. The preparation of conductive GPs of superior shielding performance is relatively simple, amenable to large-scale production of ultrathin materials for EMI shielding and electromagnetic attenuators, with broad applications in lightweight portable electronic devices.

A novel and direct approach for Loop subdivision surface offset approximation is proposed. Instead of solving a linear equation system previously, the main idea is to convert the Loop subdivision surface offset approximation into updating the vertices of original triangular mesh iteratively by using progressive interpolation (PI) method. Generated smooth subdivision surfaces interpolate the original mesh control points and preserve the sharp features. Then triangular mesh offset method can be utilized to obtain Loop subdivision surface offset approximation. The proposed method has the advantages of both local and global methods. The meshes considered here can be either closed or open. Some typical examples are illustrated to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach in the end.

Two mononuclear Co(II) N 6-benzylaminopurine compounds, [Co(6-BA-H2)2(H2O)4] · (R)2 · 4.5H2O (1) and [Co(6-BA-H)2(H2O)Cl3]Cl · H2O (2) (6-BA = N 6-benzylaminopurine (C5H2N3NH)(NH)CH2(C6H5), H3R = 5-sulfosalicylic acid (C6H3)CO2H(OH)SO3H), are reported. Compound 1 possesses a 3-D supramolecular structure built via H-bond and π–π stacking interactions that contains a mononuclear six-coordinate [Co(6-BA-H2)2(H2O)4]6+. Compound 2 also exhibits a 3-D supramolecular framework with mononuclear six-coordinate cation [Co(6-BA-H)2(H2O)Cl3]+. Luminescence studies at room temperature show that 1 (λ ex = 268 nm) displays two strong fluorescent emissions centered at 326.8 nm and 356.9 nm, while 2 (λ ex = 233 nm) exhibits a weaker peak emitted at 342.8 nm upon 6-BA-complexation of two different second ligands H3R/Cl− with Co(II).

Supercapacitors fabricated by 3D porous carbon frameworks, such as graphene- and carbon nanotube (CNT)-based aerogels, have been highly attractive due to their various advantages. However, their high cost along with insufficient yield has inhibited their large-scale applications. Here we have demonstrated a facile and easily scalable approach for large-scale preparing novel 3D nitrogen-containing porous carbon frameworks using ultralow-cost commercial cotton. Electrochemical performance suggests that the optimal nitrogen-containing cotton-derived carbon frameworks with a high nitrogen content (12.1 mol%) along with low surface area 285 m2 g−1 present high specific capacities of the 308 and 200 F g−1 in KOH electrolyte at current densities of 0.1 and 10 A g−1, respectively, with very limited capacitance loss upon 10,000 cycles in both aqueous and gel electrolytes. Moreover, the electrode exhibits the highest capacitance up to 220 F g−1 at 0.1 A g−1 and excellent flexibility (with negligible capacitance loss under different bending angles) in the polyvinyl alcohol/KOH gel electrolyte. The observed excellent performance competes well with that found in the electrodes of similar 3D frameworks formed by graphene or CNTs. Therefore, the ultralow-cost and simply strategy here demonstrates great potential for scalable producing high-performance carbon-based supercapacitors in the industry.

Subdivision surface modeling plays an important role in the field of surface modeling. As the gradual progress of subdivision is discrete, both a smooth design model and a discrete machining model can be represented by subdivision surface. Particularly, due to the unique multiresolution property, different multiresolution models can be obtained by utilizing subdivision wavelets analysis filters. Therefore, different multiresolution models can be applied to generate tool paths at different NC machining stages. Firstly, the paper is mainly focused on the key technologies of Loop subdivision surface multiresolution analysis. The biorthogonal Loop subdivision wavelets decomposition and reconstruction based on the reverse subdivision are realized and verified experimentally. Secondly, special attention is paid to the tool path generation of rough machining based on reverse Loop subdivision surface. By making use of Loop reverse subdivision wavelets and adjustment algorithms of local control points, the smooth rough machining model with minimum energy is generated. Finally, machining simulation tests are implemented for the verification.

Sulfamic acid was proved to be a cost-effective and recyclable catalyst for Friedel–Crafts type reaction of indole with α , β -unsaturated carbonyl compound and benzyl alcohol. Various indoles, α , β -unsaturated carbonyl compounds and a benzyl alcohol were successfully used in this type of reaction, and the corresponding products were obtained in good to excellent yields.

This article presents a proper approach for the prediction of output power for photovoltaic generation system. Using the results of solar irradiation from the sunny-day-model as the base value, which are accurate when the sky is clear, and correcting the forecasting results with the assistance of Markov Chain in order to make them valid for other kinds of weathers. To be specific, by utilizing Markov Chain, the underlying stochastic effects of clouds coverage can be minimized and thus harvest more accurate results. The method is tested on the photovoltaic generation system of Electrical Engineering School, Wuhan University, P.R.China and rendered a satisfactory precision of forecasting. Finally, further measurements for enhancing accuracy are also discussed in this paper.

Sixteen shorthorn cows from Xiazhuang farm were admitted to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Shandong Agricultural University for evaluation of poor appetite, listlessness, fever, tachycardia, tachypnea, lethargy, positive jugular venous pulse and anemia. Blood smear examination and polymerase chain reaction analysis in these cows revealed an infection with Mycoplasma wenyonii. The subjects were divided into two groups: control group (three cows) treated with intramuscular injection with imidocarb dipropionate (3 mg/kg/day for 2 days) and the experimental group (13 cows), treated with injection-acupuncture (Imidocarb Dipropionate, 1 mg/kg, once every 3 days for 6 days) at BL17, BL18, BL20, BL25, ST36, SP06 and CV04. At day 15, negative results were found using blood smear examination in all control and experimental groups.

The red fox (Vulpes vulepes) and the vole ( Clethrionomys refocanus) are principal hosts of Echinococcus multilocularis in Hokkaido, Japan. How protoscoleces increases in voles and the level of immunity in foxes remain unknown because of the lack of survey data, so that it is important to clarify these mecahnisms in order to develop control strategies against E. multilocularis. In this study, the growth of protoscoleces in the infected voles was approximated as the logistic curve, the level of immunity in the fox was assumed to depend on the experience of the infection with E. multilocularis, and the worm burden in the fox was assumed to be governed by the amount of protoscoleces in the vole. Our model showed that the population densities of the hosts and the level of immunity influenced the prevalence of the E. multilocularis.

Plasmodium vivax re-emerged in 1993 near the demilitarized zone (DMZ) in South Korea, although P. vivax malaria disappeared in South Korea in 1979. The re-emergence of malaria in South Korea is believed to have originated from infection by mosquitoes from North Korea across the DMZ. The principal vector of P. vivax in the Korean Peninsula is Anopheles sinensis. The density of An. sinensis has a peak during the second week of July. The North Korean strain of P. vivax has 2 characteristics: a wide distribution of the terms of relapse and a high rate of relapse. Therefore, we may well wonder why the incidence of malaria is concentrated in summer, especially in August. Mathematical models in North Korea and South Korea were constructed in which the South Korean model was affected unidirectionally by the North Korean model. We carried out simulations of the model for the Paju-shi and Yonchon-gun situations near the DMZ region. The simulation results followed the time-course of the re-emergence of P. vivax there, and revealed the mechanism of the elevation of the incidence of P. vivax in summer.

To assess the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of mannose-binding lectin 2 gene (MBL2) (rs1800450, rs1800451 and rs11003125) and protein kinase C-beta 1 gene (PRKC beta 1) (rs3700106, rs2575390) with diabetic macroangiopathy in northern Chinese Han population.The samples have included 318 type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients and 448 normoglycemic controls. The five SNPs were determined by a Multiplex SnaPshot method. Biochemical indices such as fasting plasma-glucose, triglyceride and total cholesterol were also measured. Linkage disequilibrium and haplotype analysis were carried out for all samples using Haploview 4.2. Additive model was applied to assess the effect of interaction between SNPs and environment factors on macrovascular complications.Genotypic frequencies of rs11003125 have differed significantly between the controls and patients with coronary heart disease and peripheral vascular disease (P=0.024 and 0.004, respectively). The allele frequency of rs11003125 was also statistically significant between the two groups (P=0.014 and 0.001, respectively). Compared with patients without macrovascular complications, the allele frequency of rs11003125 was significantly different in patients with peripheral vascular disease (P=0.031). No significant differences were found between the distribution of the genotype frequency and allele frequencies of other variants. Haplotype analysis indicated that, compared with controls and patients without macrovascular complications, individuals with G allele of rs1800450 and C allele of rs11003125 had a higher risk for macrovascular complications.The rs11003125 polymorphism located in the promoter region of MBL2 gene is associated with macrovascular complications of T2DM in northern Chinese Han population. G allele of rs1800450 and C allele of rs11003125 may be risk factors for macrovascular complications. There were additive interactive effects for rs11003125 polymorphism (GC+CC) and hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy on macrovascular complications.

To describe survival rates and prognostic factors for colorectal cancer (CRC) operated in a district general hospital setting with a special focus on the number of lymph nodes examined.Between December 2004 and December 2006, a total of 277 CRC patients who underwent surgical treatment in QHSU were included. All patients were followed up intensively from discharge until death or the end of the follow-up (December 31, 2010).The median follow-up period was 53 months (range, 1-72 months). Overall 3-year survival was 72.9%. In only 11.5% of the specimens were 12 or more lymph nodes retrieved, but this did not affect survival. A multivariate analysis identified that the significant prognostic factors were TNM stage III [adjusted hazard ratio (HR): 5.49; 95%CI: 1.64-18.41], TNM stage IV (adjusted HR: 7.55; 95%CI: 2.12-26.84), tumor histology (adjusted HR: 1.88; 95%CI: 1.16-3.04), hospital stay (adjusted HR: 1.03; 95%CI: 1.00-1.06) and lymph node ratio (LNR) (adjusted HR: 3.92; 95%CI: 1.79-8.55) for stage III.TNM stage, tumor histology and the length of hospital stay could prominently affect outcome overall. The lymph node count did not have a significant impact on survival, whereas the LNR proved significant for stage III. Nevertheless, a protocol using overall lymph node yield as a surrogate measure for more radical surgery seems warranted to improve the lymph node resected.
