Since the phylogenetic analysis of the Herrichella clade (Ochlerini) new genera were described to fit monophyletic groups inferred and considered to be new taxa. The clade I supported by two synapomorphies of the female genitalia, grouped Alitocoris brunneus Sailer together to two new species. Alloeogyna gen. nov. is described here for this clade including the two new species Alloeogyna ampla sp. nov. and Alloeogyna poecila sp. nov. and a new combination is proposed for Alloeogyna brunnea comb. nov.. Also, Alitocoris maculosus Sailer recovered within the clade E in the Herrichella clade is here redescribed in the monotypic Sailerus gen. nov. resulting in the new combination Sailerus maculosus comb. nov..

LineostethusRuckes, 1966 has four species,L.clypeatus(Stål, 1862),L.graziaeHildebrand & Becker, 1982,L.marginellus(Stål, 1872), andL.tenebricornis(Ruckes, 1957); mostly restricted to Central America, but with distribution records in the southern North America.Lineostethusis one of the discocephaline genera with discoid head. The last review of the genus, from the 1980’s, focused on the genital morphology and failed to provide updated descriptions or a key to species. We had access to material from different collections, including several specimens representing new species ofLineostethus, and males ofL.marginelluswhich shows important variations in genital morphology. Here we update the generic description ofLineostethusand its known species and describe the new speciesLineostethusacuminatussp. nov. (holotype male in DZUP: Costa Rica, Guanacaste),Lineostethusauritussp. nov. (holotype male in AMNH: Mexico, Oaxaca),Lineostethusotarussp. nov. (holotype male in AMNH: Mexico, Michoacán) andLineostethussinuosussp. nov. (holotype male in DZUP: Mexico, Yucatán). Additionally, we provide identification keys and distribution maps.

The Neotropical Lincus Stål, 1867 includes 35 species, thirteen of which are known only from females. Several species are vectors of Phytomonas staheli McGhee & McGhee, 1979, a trypanosomatid parasitic in palm-trees in South America that causes hart-rot, sudden and slow wilt diseases. The hitherto unknown males of L. singularis Rolston, 1983 ("swollen head" species group found in the oil palm Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), and L. incisus Rolston, 1983 ("hatchet-lobed" species group; found in the coconut tree Cocos nucifera L.), are described with emphasis on the morphology of the genitalia, and taxonomic remarks are provided. Males of L. singularis can be distinguished from other species included in "swollen head" group by their pronotal lobes with anterior and posterior margins subparallel and projected laterally from the eye margin, while males of L. incisus can be distinguished from the species of the "swollen head" group by an obtuse projection with a deepest incision and several additional diagnostic characters of the genitalia.

Alitocoris Sailer, 1950, consists of four valid species described from Central America. In a recent cladistic analysis of Ochlerini, the genus was considered paraphyletic in the Herrichella Distant, 1911, group of taxa. The present study provides a cladistic analysis of the Herrichella clade, using 88 morphological characters and 40 taxa representing 21 genera of Ochlerini, including all known species of Alitocoris plus 16 new species. Outgroups included Eritrachys bituberculata Ruckes, 1959, Phereclus pluto Stal, 1862, and Adoxoplatys comis Breddin, 1903, with the last used for rooting. The cladistic analysis was conducted using TNT under heuristic searches and implied weighting of characters; 11 K-values calculated for an average character fit ranged from 50 to 90% of a perfectly hierarchical character. The results corroborated the paraphyly of Alitocoris, calling for changes in the classification of the genus with the proposition of three new genera for two, three, and ten species, respectively, that will be described elsewhere. Alitocoris is redescribed and a key for the species is presented. Alitocoris brunneus, Alitocoris maculosus, and Alitocoris parvus are removed from the genus, and the new species Alitocoris grandis sp. nov., Alitocoris lateralis sp. nov., and Alitocoris ornatus sp. nov. are described. © 2013 The Linnean Society of London

The Neotropical genus Braunus Distant is revised. Based on general morphology, Braunus is transferred to the Pentatominae and Lojus is proposed as a junior synonym of Braunus. The male and female genitalia of Braunus sciocorinus (Walker) are described for the first time. Three new species from the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes and from Colombia are described, Braunus machadoi BarãoGarbelotto sp. nov. (Holotype male deposited in AMNH: Peru, Cuzco, 01.XII.2011, C. Weirauch leg.), Braunus gibbus GarbelottoBarão sp. nov. (Holotype female deposited in AMNH: Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Prov. Caballero, 15-21.X.2001, S. SpectorJ. Ledezma leg.), and Braunus prionotus BarãoGarbelotto sp. nov. (Holotype female deposited in MNHN: Colombia, VII.1974, Steinheil leg.), respectively. Also, we describe the internal male and female genitalia of Braunus ocellatus (Thomas) comb. nov. A key to species and comments on subfamilial and tribal placements and on wing polymorphism are provided.

The Pentatomidae, representing the fourth largest family within Heteroptera, are one of the most diverse groups with about 800 genera and more than 4,700 species in the world. In the Neotropics, about 230 genera and 1,400 species are included in seven subfamilies of the world’s nine subfamilies; four subfamilies are exclusively of the Neotropics. In this chapter, for each subfamily, a diagnosis, an overview of the classification, and information on life history, ecology, and economic importance are given. Comprehensive keys and diagnosis to the subfamilies, tribes, and genera for the Neotropical Region, including Mexico, Central and South America, and the West Indies, are also given.

Contributions to the knowledge of Banasa Stal (Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Pentatomidae): Banasa chaca Thomas. The male of Banasa chaca Thomas is described with emphasis on external and internal genitalia and the female internal genitalia is described. Banasa chaca is newly recorded from Buenos Aires Province (Argentina).
