Introduction: Social Media (SM) has proven to be a valuable tool in various fields, including healthcare. However, its improper use can result in several ethical problems. Aim: To evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practice of ethical SM usage for professional purposes. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge at K.M. Shah Dental College and Hospital Vadodara, Gujarat, India between October 2022 and March 2023. A total of 319 respondents, including dental postgraduates, academicians, and dental practitioners, participated in the survey online through various SM groups. The questionnaire was created by analysing previous literature and reviewed by experts for accuracy. Chest wall reconstruction poses significant challenges. One of those challenges is choosing the correct material for reconstruction. There is debate on using prosthetic materials versus autologous tissues and rigid versus nonrigid materials. This article showcases the novel use of fascia lata for chest wall reconstruction in children.

Background: Malrotation commonly presents in neonates with bilious vomiting. It may also present in post neonatal age group with vague symptoms such as chronic abdominal pain, vomiting, and failure to thrive. These indistinct symptoms also result in delay of diagnosis. Aims and Objectives: This study is done with an objective to know whether age of presentation in malrotation determines morbidity and mortality. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study conducted in Gandhi medical college and Hospital, Hyderabad, from 2017 to 2020, based on the records of 50 patients who were diagnosed to have malrotation. Abstract Context Prophylactic antibiotics are usually not recommended for an in and out catheterization. However procedures involving similar catheterizations like micturition cystourethrogram (MCUG) and cystometrogram are being performed under prophylactic antibiotic cover. Aims We aim to find the incidence of symptomatic urinary tract infections following MCUG done in children without antibiotic cover. Settings and design A retrospective cross sectional study was conducted on 398 patients who underwent MCUG from January 2015 to January 2016. The median age was 24 months and here were 272 males and 126 females, with 102 of them being infants. Methods and material Urine microscopy or culture was checked before performing the MCUG and only those without UTI were included in the study. Those with symptomatic and culture proven UTI within 2 weeks post-MCUG were defined as having post-procedure UTI (ppUTI). The incidence of post-procedure UTI was calculated and was compared with other studies. Statistical analysis used Data was entered in Microsoft Excel and analyzed using SPSS. Categorical variables were summarized as percentage and continuous variables were summarized as mean with standard deviation. Results Symptomatic procedure induced UTI were seen in only 3 of the 398 (0.75%) patients with a 95% CI of 0.02–0.008. Conclusions Strict adherence to aseptic precautions while performing an MCUG and prompt initiation of appropriate therapy when indicated may help obviate the need for routine administration of pre procedure antibiotics before MCUG.

Design of polymer grafted plasmonic metal nanoparticles (PGNPs) has received continuous interest due to polymer-driven self-assembly of plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) as a means to control interparticle plasmon coupling in ensembles. We report the use of supramolecular “V-shaped” block copolymers (VBCPs) as surface ligands of PGNPs to study their hydrophobicity-driven self-assembly. The amphiphilic VBCPs are prepared from two homopolymers, namely dipicolyamine (DPA)-terminated polystyrene (PS) and pyridine (Py)-terminated poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA) where the two polymers are bridged with Cu2+ ions. Those supramolecular VBCPs formed spherical micelles in the range of 100–300 nm, much larger than those of linear BCPs with similar chemical composition as a result of Cu2+ ions at the hydrophobic/hydrophilic interface. Thioester-containing supramolecular polymers can modify plasmonic AuNPs through ligand exchange even in the presence of Cu2+ ions. Those supramolecular polymers can drive PGNPs to form giant vesicles and two-dimensional (2-D) layered nanosheets. Using in situ light scattering, the supramolecular dynamics is found to allow maximum chain reconformation of polymer ligands where the interparticle distance of PGNPs grafted with VBCPs is smaller compared to that of PGNPs with linear BCPs. The assembled nanostructures with VBCPs also showed similar stimuli-responsive properties where the dissociation of DPA-Cu2+-Py coordination results in the disruption of assembled nanostructures. The supramolecular approaches potentially provide a new toolbox to design PGNP assemblies with tunable nanostructures and interesting dynamic properties enabled by non-covalent interaction.

Disease X is caused by pathogen X, an unknown infectious agent that can potentially trigger an epidemic or pandemic. Pathogen X might be any pathogen, including bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and prions. WHO uses the term 'Disease X' for any new emerging disease caused by an unknown pathogen X. Disease X stands for any possible future pandemic in WHO's shortlist of high-priority diseases. This review looks at the manifestations of the recent COVID-19 epidemic as the first Disease X to evaluate what has happened and to learn from what went wrong in India and worldwide. To this end, a summary is presented of response measures by governments, often lacking flows of information, discrepancies in the views of experts and decisions of policymakers, and undesirable variations in individual and collective behavior and their consequences. The elements of combating Disease X in a world with considerable inequalities in relevant knowledge, expertise, information, quality of governance, and financial possibilities are discussed. Background: Sensors within smartphones, such as accelerometer and location, can describe longitudinal markers of behavior as represented through devices in a method called digital phenotyping. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of digital phenotyping for patients with alcohol-associated liver disease and alcohol use disorder, determine correlations between smartphone data and alcohol craving, and establish power assessment for future studies to prognosticate clinical outcomes., Methods: A total of 24 individuals with alcohol-associated liver disease and alcohol use disorder were instructed to download the AWARE application to collect continuous sensor data and complete daily ecological momentary assessments on alcohol craving and mood for up to 30 days. Data from sensor streams were processed into features like accelerometer magnitude, number of calls, and location entropy, which were used for statistical analysis. We used repeated measures correlation for longitudinal data to evaluate associations between sensors and ecological momentary assessments and standard Pearson correlation to evaluate within-individual relationships between sensors and craving., Results: Alcohol craving significantly correlated with mood obtained from ecological momentary assessments. Across all sensors, features associated with craving were also significantly correlated with all moods (eg, loneliness and stress) except boredom. Individual-level analysis revealed significant relationships between craving and features of location entropy and average accelerometer magnitude., Conclusions: Smartphone sensors may serve as markers for alcohol craving and mood in alcohol-associated liver disease and alcohol use disorder. Findings suggest that location-based and accelerometer-based features may be associated with alcohol craving. However, data missingness and low participant retention remain challenges.
