Recurrence, metastases and total survivability was assessed in sixty bitches bearing mammary tumours. The recorded metastasis was 68.33%, tubular adenocarcinomaand carcinosarcoma dominated the metastatic lesions. Spindle cell induced multiple internal organ metastases on lungs, liver, kidney, heart, spleen, lymph nodes and pleurawas noticed. Post-surgical survivability in respect to recurrent (n=17) and non-recurrent (n=43) groups indicated that survivability was highest in non-recurrent (72.09%) than recurrent (52.94%)animals. The present study was conducted to find out the alterations occurred in haemato-biochemical constituents in rumen acidotic goats. Based on the rumen pH, four groups, each comprising of twenty animals were selected. Haematological and biochemical analysis revealed a highly significant (P≤0.01) increase in Hb, PCV, TEC, neutrophils, sodium, glucose, blood lactate, and the value of lymphocytes, monocytes, potassium were significantly (P≤0.01) reduced. Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) are a highly contagious and economically important viral disease affecting goats, sheep and wild ruminants. Mannheimia haemolytica is an opportunistic pathogen and it is a normal inhabitant of nasopharynx and tonsils of ruminants under stressful conditions the organism causes pneumonic pasteurellosis. An investigation was carried out to find out mortality among 24 out of 404 Tellicherry goats in an organized farm. Necropsy of dead animals revealed prominent epicardial petichiae, tracheal rings showed severe congestion and copious frothy fluid, edematous lung with severe consolidation and emphysematous. Intestinal mucosa appeared severely haemorrhagic and congested. Samples such as heart blood swab, ocular swab, nasal and oral swabs, lung and spleen were collected from dead animals and samples such as serum, whole blood, ocular swab, nasal and oral swabs were collected from 8 ailing animals for diagnosis. PPR viral antigens were detected by counter immune electrophoresis test and microbial culture of swabs revealed colonies of Mannheimia haemolytica. The isolates were confirmed as Mannheimia haemolytica organisms by cultural, morphological and biochemical test. 52 affected goats were treated with Inj. Enrofloxacin @ 1ml/20 kg b. wt IM, Inj. Meloxicam @ 2 ml/33 kg b. wt IM and Vitamins for 5 days. 47 animals recovered completely within five days of therapy and 5 animals with severe respiratory stress, enteritis and anorexia were died in the course of therapy. A one and half years old female Non- descript dog was presented with a small mass on the medial aspect of the left thigh for the past two months. The mass was solitary, soft raised red tinged and measured 2-3 cm. Cytological examination revealed round cells with pale basophilic cytoplasm, eccentrically placed round to oval nucleus and multinucleated cells along with nuclear clefts. Histopathological examination revealed sheets of round neoplastic cells with moderate amount of cytoplasm along with mitotic figures. It was diagnosed as cutaneous histiocytoma. A two months old Aseel cross-bred chicken was presented with the history of emaciation and sudden death. Numerous live Ascaridia galli worms were seen in the gizzard, small intestine and caecum. Multiple raised white areas in the gizzard mucosa, diffuse pale areas in the liver and clogging of the intestine with worms were also noticed. Histopathological examination revealed verminous ventriculitis, inflammatory changes in the intestine and liver. Mammary spindle cell carcinoma with metastatic lesion in the heart was noticed in a 10 years old Great Dane bitch. Grossly, the tumour was large sized with irregular lobulated surface and with multifocal ulceration. Small to medium sized white multifocal metastatic deposits were observed on the myocardium. Two Aseel birds were brought for postmortem examination with the history of depression and sudden death. External gross examination revealed emaciated carcass, loss of feathers and pale mucus membrane. Internal numerous tapeworms and round worms were seen in the intestinal lumen. The worms were seen adherent to the mucosa. Congestion, haemorrhages and mucosal erosion were noticed in the intestine. The worms were identified as Ascaridia galli and Cotugnia sp. Histopathological examination of the proventriculas revealed the presence of Tetrameres mohtedai within the glandular lumen. A rare case of mammary spindle cell carcinoma with hepatic metastasis was recorded in a 10 year old Great Dane bitch. Grossly, the tumour mass was irregular, ulcerated and lobulated. White deposits were also seen on hepatic parenchyma. Section revealed spindle cells in the form of bundles and whorls arrangements. The mammary tumour had secondaries in the hepatic tissue. An eleven-year-old intact German shepherddog was presented with a history of a large sized mass protruding out of the vulva for the past one month. An adult male spot billed pelican carcass brought for necropsy with the history of that the bird was fallen from a tree and died. Grossly, proventriculus showed congested and haemorrhagic mucosa with approximately 175 numbers of light white coloured round worms seen freely and/or invading into the mucosa. The worms were identified as Contracaecum sp. Microscopically, proventriculus revealed numerous cut sections of Contracaecum sp. worm in the lumen. The Contracaecum sp. infection might be due to the ingestion of fishes and the death was due to traumatic shock from contused wounds in the neck region due to the sudden fall possibly due to weakness caused by the verminous infection. An adult female white spotted deer carcass was brought to the Department of Veterinary Pathology, for necropsy with the history of sudden death. Grossly, contusions and bruises were seen on the neck, left side of the chest, face, and elbow joint. Brown coloured flies were noticed on the skin. The flies were identifled as Lipoptena cervi based on the morphology of head sunken into thorax. A young adult male peacock carcass was brought for necropsy with the history of sudden death due to hit by a speeding train. Numerous tape worms were seen in the intestinal lumen. The tapeworms were identified as Cotugnia spp. based on the morphology. Histopathological examination of the intestine revealed cut sections of Cotugnia spp. worms in the lumen, adhering to the mucosa and also invaded into the submucosa with degeneration and necrosis of the mucosal epithelium. A study was conducted to determine the intensity of Sarcocystis infection in different age groups of sheep. A total of 36 heart samples were collected from sheep received for post mortem from organized farms and individual farmers. Out of 36 samples, 26 showed positive for Sarcocyst. Sheep less than 6 months of age did not show the infection and the intensity of infection was progressively increasing according to their age based on the microscopic observation. The article discusses findings of a study to investigate the death of an adult female tree snake (Dendralaphis tristis) due to Cestodiasis or cestode infection. It describes the condition of the dead snake during the necropsy examination as having multiple skin bruises, multiple tapeworms in the intestine, and lung haemorrhage. The examination confirms that presence of Dipylidium sp. eggs in the intestinal mucosa of the snake caused the infection that resulted in traumatic shock and death.

The article presents a case report of mast cell tumours in a five year old male non-descript dog. The dog presented with a history of mass on the right hind limb, wherein clinical examination revealed a firm gray white mass on the right hind fetlock joint, with haemorrhages and ulceration. The article presents a case report of a rare occurrence of the mast cell tumour of the mesentery in a German shepherd female dog. The dog was presented to the Veterinary Hospital of the Veterinary College and Research Institute in India with a history of inappetance, nausea, epistaxis and melena. Cytological smears of the dog revealed high celluliarity with round individual cells arranged in sheets. Spherical to oval cells with anisokaryosis were also noticed in the animal, and confirmed the mass as a mast cell tumour.

The article presents a discussion about Isospra canis infection in a Spitz breed puppy. The puppy presented various symptoms including dehydration, general anemia and bloody diarrhea. Analysis of the faecal sample found that puppy is infected with oocyst of Isospora canis. The dog was administered with albendazole and nitrofurazone.
