Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to a company's commitment to operating in an ethical and socially responsible manner. It involves initiatives and practices that go beyond legal obligations to positively impact society, including environmental sustainability, fair labour practices, and community engagement. CSR aims to balance economic, environmental, and social interests, enhancing the company's reputation and fostering trust among stakeholders. A comparative study of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) spending patterns between pharmaceutical and IT companies is important for understanding how different industries prioritize social, environmental, and economic responsibilities. This analysis helps highlight the sectors' varying contributions toward critical areas like education, healthcare, social causes, and environmental sustainability. By comparing these patterns, stakeholders can assess the alignment of corporate values with societal needs, identify gaps, and encourage better-targeted initiatives. Such studies also provide insights into how different industries manage their CSR obligations, which can inform policy decisions, promote industry benchmarking, and drive more strategic and impactful CSR investments. The basic rock mass rating (RMRb) and continuous slope mass rating (CoSMR) are globally used preliminary rock slope stability assessment methods. In this paper, a novel RMRb–CoSMR plot is proposed that demonstrates various insights provided by plotting a pair of RMRb and CoSMR data of adjacent road cut slopes from continuous road traverse. The RMRb and CoSMR data of adjacent road cut slopes along four different traverses in Northwestern Himalaya, India is discussed using the novel RMRb–CoSMR plot. For traverse 1 along the National Highway-58 (NH-58), Uttarakhand, India, seven cyclic variations in the value of CoSMR from no drop (0) to maximum drop (~ 60) from RMRb are observed in 35 road cut slopes. The reason for this cyclic variation on the RMRb–CoSMR plot of adjacent road cut slopes is mainly caused by the geometrical relationship between the joint sets and slope orientations. The road cut slopes along a continuous road traverse with similar rock mass conditions and different geometrical relationships between joint sets and slopes, the pair of RMRb and CoSMR data for these road cut slopes show a vertical drop on the RMRb–CoSMR plot. Once the paired dataset of RMRb and CoSMR of adjacent road cut slopes along a traverse are plotted on the RMRb–CoSMR plot, it can identify the number of planar/wedge and toppling failures occurring along the traverse. The RMRb–CoSMR plot along with stereographic projection can be used to identify critical joint sets, the SMR support system, and remedial cost estimates of stabilization for adjacent road cut slopes along a continuous traverse.
