This article examines the linguistic landscape of Manila during a protest march in November 2016 in response to the burial of deposed president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery). This article is situated among linguistic landscape of protest research (Kasanga, 2014; Seals, 2011; Shiri, 2015) where data is composed of mobile posters, placards, banners, and other ‘unfixed’ signs, including texts on bodies, t-shirts, umbrellas, and rocks. Following Sebba (2010), this article argues that both ‘fixed’ linguistic landscape and ‘mobile’ public texts are indices of the linguistic composition of cities, linguistic diversity, and ethnolinguistic vitality (Landry & Bourhis, 1997). Through a qualitative analysis of selected pictures produced during the protest march and uploaded onto social media, the multilingual nature of Manila is rendered salient and visible, albeit temporarily, and strategies of dissent are reflective of the language of the millennials who populated the protests.

Статья посвящена рассмотрению вопроса интерактивности как уникального свойства художественного текста. Особое внимание уделено описанию интерактивной природы художественного текста и речевой коммуникации, которая заключается в бинарном принципе их строения. Его cущностная интерактивность - в амбивалентности с позиций языка и речи, функциональная - в способности осуществлять координацию текстовой коммуникации писателя и читателя, которая существует во взаимодействии процессов текстопорождения и текстовосприятия, The article considers interactivity as the unique feature of the literary text pays special attention to the description of interactive nature of the literary text and speech communication which is the binary principle of their structures. The author has established that the literary text is genetically and functionally interactive. The re-interpretation of communication phenomenon, claiming “to other” focus to be the prerogative, causes consecutive refusal of text’s traditional consideration. The latter is being expounded as empirical substance and real material manifestation of speakers communication intentions as well as their mental universes’ interaction. This way of approach opens further perspective to define artistic text categories’ taxonomy more precisely; the text likewise remains hyponymically-hyperonically connected to the artistic discourse, being its constitutive substratum. The artistic text represents totality of categories of the certain type of correlation, synchronized within three dimensions; their parameters depend upon anthropocentric inclusiveness degree. The fact is the text category integrates certain set of the most important text characteristic features and gets evaluation due to its field structure, two-dimensions’ construction, and functional direction. Each one of the text categories, social-semiotic and situation interactions’ result receives interpretation in accordance with the structure, semantics, also pragmatics. Therefore, syntagmatic and paradigmatic intercategorical interconnections of the text-discourse make the opportunity to accentuate on its completeness and synergy.

This dissertation describes a research aimed at finding text-optimization techniques which would increase the comprehension and better the attitudes of the readers towards the text. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of these techniques considering the possibility of implementation into the text-production process of state and commercial institutions. The theoretical basis for text comprehension is the construction of mental representations of the text. Many factors, internal and external, can influence the construction of a correct mental representation of the text. This thesis researches the factors of text quality and attitudes towards the text. Effects of the same text manipulations of Slovak and Dutch texts were observed in three language groups. These were: a group of Slovak native speakers, Dutch native speakers and people who learned Dutch as a foreign language. For this research two texts were selected, namely the instructions provided with the tax declaration form and an instruction manual provided with a digital camera. Die Autoren reflektieren bestimmte qualitative Differenzierungen und Verschiebungen, welche sich dann zeigen, wenn Schlüsselkontexte der Selbstthematisierung miteinander verglichen werden, z.B. die religiöse Beichte, die Psychotherapien von der klassischen Psychoanalyse bis zu den neueren Gruppentherapien sowie die Massenmedien und das Internet. Diese sozialen und kulturellen Gebilde folgen einer Entwicklungslogik von Institutionen in postmodernen Gesellschaften, die sich mit dem Begriff der Theatralisierung umschreiben lässt. Mit dieser Entwicklungslogik korrespondiert ein Subjektivismus, der sich - so die These der Autoren - in Abhängigkeit von der Evolution medialer Kommunikationsformen als ein "dramatischer Subjektivismus" äußert. Die Autoren verdeutlichen dies am Beispiel des Internet bzw. des Internet-Chats als neuestem Kontext der Selbstthematisierung und Selbsttheatralisierung. Als Ausgangspunkt ihrer theoretischen Überlegungen wählen sie den modernen "Urkontext" der Selbstthematisierung: die Psychoanalyse. Sie möchten vor allem zeigen, dass die Selbstthematisierung und Selbstauslegung im kontextarmen Medium synchroner Textkommunikation medienspezifischen Strukturbedingungen unterworfen sind, denen gattungsspezifische Probleme und Problemlösungen in der Postmoderne entsprechen, die aber gleichzeitig auch Spielräume entstehen lassen, welche inszenatorisch genutzt werden können. "Bei der Betrachtung und Analyse von Gesellschaftstypen wird von soziologischer Seite ein Aspekt der gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung seltener thematisiert, der jedoch für die Sozialorganisation insgesamt von großer Bedeutung ist: Die Herausbildung von Schriftlichkeit als Medium der Wissensspeicherung und Informationsübertragung. Das bedeutet, daß, die (partielle) Umstellung von mündlicher auf schriftliche Kommunikation keinesfalls nur eine (mnemo-)technische Innovation darstellt, sondern die kulturellen und sozialstrukturellen Grundlagen der Gesellschaft tiefgreifend beeinflußt. Der Begriff 'kodifiziertes Recht' verweist bereits auf eine Unterscheidung, die als solche jedoch selten ins Blickfeld gerät, nämlich die Unterscheidung von Gewohnheitsrecht und schriftlich fixiertem Recht. Spricht man - vor allem im Kontext von modernen Gesellschaften - von Recht, so wird dieses mit kodifiziertem Recht gleichgesetzt. Durch diese Art der Betrachtung verschwinden die sozialen Implikationen, die mit der Einführung des kodifizierten Rechts einhergehen. Zunächst einmal stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern das Vorhandensein eines Schriftsystems die Herausbildung einer spezifischen Sozialstruktur und eines spezifischen Rechts bedingen und/oder ob man von einer allmählichen Transformation von Sozialstruktur und Recht durch den Einfluß einer Schrifttechnik ausgehen kann. Man könnte in diesem Sinne von einer (mindestens) doppelten Codierung von Normen sprechen, die erstens ihre Explizitheit und zweitens ihre Darstellung umfaßt. Die Form der (schriftlichen) Darstellung hat darüber hinaus eine eminente Bedeutung in bezug auf das Vertragsrecht, das seinerseits - wie von Durkheim bereits beschrieben - in enger Verbindung mit den differenzierenden und integrierenden Kräften der Gesellschaft gesehen werden muß. Darüber hinaus hat die Notwendigkeit des Vorhandenseins schriftlicher Dokumente weitreichende Konsequenzen etwa hinsichtlich der individuellen Rechtswahrnehmung, oder in bezug auf die Formen der Gemeinschaftsbildung."
