The exploration of superconductors in metastable phases by manipulating crystal structures through high-pressure techniques has attracted significant interest in materials science to achieve a high critical temperature ($T_c$). In this study, we report an emergence of novel superconductivity in a metastable phase of Th$_3$P$_4$-type cubic In$_{3-x}$S$_4$ with remarkably high $T_c$ at 20 K under 45 GPa by using an originally designed diamond anvil cell equipped with boron-doped diamond electrodes, which can perform a high-pressure synthesis and an in-situ electrical transport measurement simultaneously. In-situ structural analysis indicates that the In$_{3-x}$S$_4$ appears partially above 40 GPa without heating. The high-pressure annealing treatment induces complete transformation to the Th$_3$P$_4$-type structure, and the defected concentration of x in In$_{3-x}$S$_4$ decreases with increasing annealing temperature. The $T_c$ in In$_{3-x}$S$_4$ is maximized at x = 0 and approaches 20 K. Electronic band calculations show that the high density of states composed of sulfur and indium bands are located at the conduction band bottom near Fermi energy. The record high $T_c$ in In$_{3-x}$S$_4$ among superconducting sulfides accelerates the further exploration of high $T_c$ materials within the Th$_3$P$_4$-type cubic family by using flexibility in crystal structure.

In this paper, we discuss the concept of bulk reconstruction, which involves mapping bulk operators into CFT operators to understand the emergence of spacetime and gravity. We argue that the $N=\infty$ approximation fails to capture crucial aspects of gravity, as it does not respect gauge invariance and lacks direct connections between energy and boundary metrics. Key concepts such as entanglement wedge reconstruction and holographic error correction codes, which are based on the $N=\infty$ theory, may be incorrect or require significant revision when finite $N$ effects are considered. We successfully synthesized samples of La$_{3}$Ni$_{2}$O$_{7+\delta}$ ($\delta = -0.50$, $-0.16$, $0.00$, $+0.01$, and $+0.12$) and measured the resistance under extremely high pressures using a diamond anvil cell to establish the electronic phase diagram. A Mott insulating state appears at $\delta = -0.50$, where all Ni ions are divalent. With increasing oxygen content, superconductivity appears at $\delta = 0.00$ and higher, above approximately 25 GPa, passing through Anderson localization at $\delta = -0.16$. The superconducting transition temperature $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ decreases with increasing pressures for both $\delta = 0.00$ and $+0.12$, with the pressure dependence of $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ being much stronger in the latter than in the former.

Real-world physical systems, like composite materials and porous media, exhibit complex heterogeneities and multiscale nature, posing significant computational challenges. Computational homogenization is useful for predicting macroscopic properties from the microscopic material constitution. It involves defining a representative volume element (RVE), solving governing equations, and evaluating its properties such as conductivity and elasticity. Despite its effectiveness, the approach can be computationally expensive. This study proposes a tensor-train (TT)-based asymptotic homogenization method to address these challenges. By deriving boundary value problems at the microscale and expressing them in the TT format, the proposed method estimates material properties efficiently. We demonstrate its validity and effectiveness through numerical experiments applying the proposed method for homogenization of thermal conductivity and elasticity in two- and three-dimensional materials, offering a promising solution for handling the multiscale nature of heterogeneous systems., Comment: 25 pages, 7 figures

Discovery of the large magnetocaloric effect in HoB$_2$ has highlighted the practical advantage of heavy rare-earth ions. Other holmium compounds are of interest, and we here report the synthesis and the magnetic properties of HoSi$_{1.67}$ and HoGe$_{1.67}$ which form the same AlB$_2$-type structure but with vacancies. They are found to show the antiferromagnetic order with the Neel temperature 17.6(2)K for HoSi$_{1.67}$ and 9.9(2)K for HoGe$_{1.67}$, and the magnetic entropy changes at the temperature are 0.05(1)J/cm$^3$K for HoSi$_{1.67}$ and 0.08(1)J/cm$^3$K for HoGe$_{1.67}$. Magnetic orders were suppressed by replacing vacancies with nickel, resulting in an increase of magnetic entropy changes. Distance between the in-plane Ho$^{3+}$ ions appears to be an important parameter leading to the transition between the antiferromagnetic (HoSi$_{1.67}$) and the ferromagnetic (HoB$_2$) order. We report on the first measurement of the elemental fragmentation cross sections (EFCSs) of $^{29-33}\mathrm{Si}$ on a carbon target at $\sim$230~MeV/nucleon. The experimental data covering charge changes of $\Delta Z$ = 1-4 are reproduced well by the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) coupled with the evaporation GEMINI (IQMD+GEMINI) model. We further explore the mechanisms underlying the single-proton removal reaction in this model framework. We conclude that the cross sections from direct proton knockout exhibit a overall weak dependence on the mass number of $\mathrm{Si}$ projectiles. The proton evaporation induced after the projectile excitation significantly affects the cross sections for neutron-deficient $\mathrm{Si}$ isotopes, while neutron evaporation plays a crucial role in the reactions of neutron-rich $\mathrm{Si}$ isotopes. Charge-changing cross-sections of $^{11-16}$C, $^{13-17}$N and $^{15-18}$O on a carbon target have been determined at energies around 300 MeV/nucleon. A nucleon separation energy dependent correction factor has been introduced to the Glauber model calculation for extracting the nuclear charge radii from the experimental CCCSs. The charge radii of $^{11}$C, $^{13,16}$N and $^{15}$O thus were determined for the first time. With the new radii, we studied the experimental mirror-difference charge radii ($\Delta R_{\text {ch}}^{\text {mirror}}$) of $^{11}$B-$^{11}$C, $^{13}$C-$^{13}$N, $^{15}$N-$^{15}$O, $^{17}$N-$^{17}$Ne pairs for the first time. We find that the $\Delta R_{\text {ch}}^{\text {mirror}}$, including both bound and weakly bound proton-rich mirror partners, are reproduced by the empirical relation to the isospin asymmetry predicted by the $ab$ $initio$ calculations., Comment: 3 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B

We propose a data cleansing method that utilizes a neural analysis and synthesis (NANSY++) framework to train an end-to-end neural diarization model (EEND) for singer diarization. Our proposed model converts song data with choral singing which is commonly contained in popular music and unsuitable for generating a simulated dataset to the solo singing data. This cleansing is based on NANSY++, which is a framework trained to reconstruct an input non-overlapped audio signal. We exploit the pre-trained NANSY++ to convert choral singing into clean, non-overlapped audio. This cleansing process mitigates the mislabeling of choral singing to solo singing and helps the effective training of EEND models even when the majority of available song data contains choral singing sections. We experimentally evaluated the EEND model trained with a dataset using our proposed method using annotated popular duet songs. The superconducting transition temperatures, $T_{\mathrm{c}}$, of La$_{4}$Ni$_{3}$O$_{10+\delta}$($\delta$ = 0.04 and -0.01) were determined under various pressures up to 124.9 GPa by electrical resistance measurements with a diamond anvil cell. $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ exhibits a strong dependence on oxygen content within the pressure range of approximately 20 GPa and 80 GPa. At 48.0 GPa, $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of La$_{4}$Ni$_{3}$O$_{10.04}$ peaks at 36 K, marking the highest $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ reported thus far., Comment: to be published in J. Phys. Soc. Jpn

We report the charge-changing cross sections ($\sigma_{\text{cc}}$) of 24 $p$-shell nuclides on both hydrogen and carbon at about 900$A$ MeV, of which $^{8,9}$Li, $^{10\textendash12}$Be, $^{10,14,15}$B, $^{14,15,17\textendash22}$N and $^{16}$O on hydrogen and $^{8,9}$Li on carbon are for the first time. Benefiting from the data set,we found a new and robust relationship between the scaling factor of the Glauber model calculations and the separation energies of the nuclei of interest on both targets.This allows us to deduce proton radii ($R_p$) for the first time from the cross sections on hydrogen. Nearly identical $R_p$ values are deduced from both target data for the neutron-rich carbon isotopes, however, the $R_p$ from the hydrogen target is systematically smaller in the neutron-rich nitrogen isotopes.This calls for further experimental and theoretical investigations., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures

Single atomic defects are prominent windows to look into host quantum states because collective responses from the host states emerge as localized states around the defects. Friedel oscillations and Kondo clouds in Fermi liquids are quintessential examples. However, the situation is quite different for quantum spin liquid (QSL), an exotic state of matter with fractionalized quasiparticles and topological order arising from a profound impact of quantum entanglement. Elucidating the underlying local electronic property has been challenging due to the charge neutrality of fractionalized quasiparticles and the insulating nature of QSLs. Here, using spectroscopic-imaging scanning tunneling microscopy, we report atomically resolved images of monolayer $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$, the most promising Kitaev QSL candidate, on metallic substrates. We find quantum interference in the insulator manifesting as incommensurate and decaying spatial oscillations of the local density of states around defects with a characteristic bias dependence. The oscillation differs from any known spatial structures in its nature and does not exist in other Mott insulators, implying it is an exotic oscillation involved with excitations unique to $\alpha$-RuCl$_3$. Numerical simulations can reproduce the observed oscillation by assuming that itinerant Majorana fermions of Kitaev QSL are scattered across the Majorana Fermi surface. The oscillation provides a new approach to exploring Kitaev QSLs through the local response against defects like Friedel oscillations in metals.

Fermionic superfluidity with a nontrivial Cooper-pairing, beyond the conventional Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer state, is a captivating field of study in quantum many-body systems. In particular, the search for superconducting states with finite-momentum pairs has long been a challenge, but establishing its existence has long suffered from the lack of an appropriate probe to reveal its momentum. Recently, it has been proposed that the nonreciprocal {\cred electron} transport is the most {\cred powerful} probe for the finite-momentum pairs, {\cred because it directly couples} to the supercurrents. Here we reveal such a pairing state by the non-reciprocal transport on tricolor superlattices with strong spin-orbit coupling combined with broken inversion-symmetry consisting of atomically thin $d$-wave superconductor CeCoIn$_5$. We find that while the second-harmonic resistance exhibits a distinct dip anomaly at the low-temperature ($T$)/high-magnetic field ($H$) corner in the $HT$-plane for ${\bm H}$ applied to the antinodal direction of the $d$-wave gap, such an anomaly is absent for ${\bm H}$ along the nodal direction. By meticulously isolating extrinsic effects due to vortex dynamics, we reveal the presence of a non-reciprocal response originating from intrinsic superconducting properties characterized by finite-momentum pairs. We attribute the high-field state to the helical superconducting state, wherein the phase of the order parameter is spontaneously spatially modulated.

We selected sources with a steep soft-X-ray-band spectrum with a photon index larger than 2.5 -- measured by eROSITA on board the Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma (SRG) -- from the eFEDS AGN catalogue as candidates of highly accreting supermassive black holes, and investigated their multi-wavelength properties. Among 601 bright AGN with 0.2-5 keV counts of greater than 100, 83 sources (~14%) are classified as steep-spectrum sources. These sources have typical 0.5-2 keV luminosities of L(SX) ~ 1e44 erg/s and the majority of them are found at redshifts below z=1. In comparison with sources with flatter spectra, these sources have, on average, a UV (or optical) to 2 keV luminosity ratio that is larger by ~0.3 dex and bluer optical-to-UV continuum emission. They also appear to be radio quiet based on the detection rate in the FIRST and VLASS surveys. Their host galaxies -- at least in the redshift range of z=0.2-0.8, where the AGN-galaxy decomposition results from the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam imaging are available -- tend to be late-type and have smaller stellar masses than those of sources with flatter spectra. These properties are similar to those found in nearby narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies, in agreement with the picture that they are AGN with elevated accretion rates and are in the early growth phase of black hole and galaxy co-evolution. However, the steep-spectrum sources are not exclusively narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies; indeed many are broad-line Seyfert 1 galaxies, as found by a catalogue search. This suggests that these steep-spectrum sources may be black holes generally with high accretion rates but of a wide mass range, including a few objects emitting at L(SX)>1e45 erg/s, of which black hole masses can be close to 10^9 M_sun., Comment: 8 pages, accepted for publication in A&A

We construct a new solution to the tetrahedron equation by further pursuing the quantum cluster algebra approach in our previous works. The key ingredients include a symmetric butterfly quiver attached to the wiring diagrams for the longest element of type $A$ Weyl groups and the implementation of quantum $Y$-variables through the $q$-Weyl algebra. The solution consists of four products of quantum dilogarithms, incorporating a total of seven parameters. By exploring both the coordinate and momentum representations, along with their modular double counterparts, our solution encompasses various known three-dimensional (3D) $R$-matrices. These include those obtained by Kapranov-Voevodsky ('94) utilizing the quantized coordinate ring, Bazhanov-Mangazeev-Sergeev ('10) from a quantum geometry perspective, Kuniba-Matsuike-Yoneyama ('23) linked with the quantized six-vertex model, and Inoue-Kuniba-Terashima ('23) associated with the Fock-Goncharov quiver. Superconductivity in quasicrystals poses a new challenge in condensed matter physics. We measured the resistance and ac magnetic susceptibility of a Ta$_{1.6}$Te dodecagonal quasicrystal, which is superconducting below $T_c \sim$ 1 K. We show that the upper critical field increases linearly with a large slope of $-$4.4 T/K with decreasing temperature down to 0.04 K, with no tendency to level off. The extrapolated zero-temperature critical field exceeds the Pauli limit by a factor of 2.3. We also observed flux-flow resistance with thermally activated behavior and an irreversibility field that is distinct from the upper critical field. We discuss these peculiarities in terms of the nonuniform superconducting gap and spin--orbit interaction in quasicrystal structures., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures + SM(2 pages, 1 figure)

In the $R$Al(Si,Ge) ($R$: lanthanides) family, both spatial inversion and time-reversal symmetries are broken. This may offer opportunities to study Weyl-fermion physics in nontrivial spin structures emerging from a noncentrosymmetric crystal structure. In this study, we investigated the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) in NdAlGe via magnetotransport, magnetization, and magnetic torque measurements down to 40 mK (0.4 K for magnetization). The single crystals grown by a laser-heated floating-zone method exhibit a single magnetic phase transition at $T_{\rm M}$ = 13.5 K, where the $T_{\rm M}$ is the transition temperature. With the magnetic field parallel to the easy $\lbrack$001$\rbrack$ axis, the AHE gradually evolves as the temperature decreases below $T_{\rm M}$. The anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) reaches $\sim$320 $\Omega^{-1}$cm$^{-1}$ at 40 mK in the magnetically saturated state. Except in low-temperature low-field plateau phases, the AHC and magnetization are proportional, and their ratio agrees with the ratios for conventional ferromagnets, suggesting that the intrinsic AHE occurs by the Karplus-Luttinger mechanism. Below $\sim$0.6 K, the curves of Hall resistivity against the field exhibit plateaus at low fields below $\sim$0.5 T, correlating with the plateaus in the magnetization curve. For the first plateau, the magnetization is one order of magnitude smaller than the magnetically saturated state, whereas the AHE is more than half that in the saturated state. This finding under well below $T_{\rm M}$ suggests that the AHE at the first plateau is not governed by the magnetization and may be interpreted based on a multipole or spin chirality., Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures

We provide bulk transport evidence for twin-boundary pinning of vortices in FeSe. We measure interlayer resistance in FeSe in magnetic fields and find that, as the field is rotated in the $ab$ plane, the flux-flow resistivity is suppressed when the field direction is parallel to twinning planes. The width of the associated dip in the resistance vs in-plane field direction curve varies as $T^{1/2}B^{-3/4}$, consistent with the creation of kinked vortices near the parallel field geometry., Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures

We develop the quantum cluster algebra approach recently introduced by Sun and Yagi to investigate the tetrahedron equation, a three-dimensional generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation. In the case of square quiver, we devise a new realization of quantum Y-variables in terms $q$-Weyl algebras and obtain a solution that possesses three spectral parameters. It is expressed in various forms, comprising four products of quantum dilogarithms depending on the signs in decomposing the quantum mutations into the automorphism part and the monomial part. For a specific choice of them, our formula precisely reproduces Sergeev's $R$ matrix, which corresponds to a vertex formulation of the Zamolodchikov-Bazhanov-Baxter model when $q$ is specialized to a root of unity., Comment: 24 pages

We construct a new solution to the tetrahedron equation and the three-dimensional (3D) reflection equation by extending the quantum cluster algebra approach by Sun and Yagi concerning the former. We consider the Fock-Goncharov quivers associated with the longest elements of the Weyl groups of type $A$ and $C$, and investigate the cluster transformations corresponding to changing a reduced expression into a `most distant' one. By devising a new realization of the quantum $y$-variables in terms of $q$-Weyl algebra, the solutions are extracted as the operators whose adjoint actions yield the cluster transformations of the quantum $y$-variables. We present the charge-changing cross sections (CCCS) of $^{11-15}$C, $^{13-17}$N, and $^{15,17-18}$O at around 300 MeV/nucleon on a carbon target, which extends to $p$-shell isotopes with $N < Z$ for the first time. The Glauber model, which considers only the proton distribution of projectile nuclei, underestimates the cross sections by more than 10\%. We show that this discrepancy can be resolved by considering the contribution from the charged-particle evaporation process (CPEP) following projectile neutron removal. Using nucleon densities from the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum, we investigate the isospin-dependent CPEP contribution to the CCCS for a wide range of neutron-to-proton separation energy asymmetry. Our calculations, which include the CPEP contribution, agree well with existing systematic data and reveal an ``evaporation peak" at the isospin symmetric region where the neutron-to-proton separation energy is close to zero. These results suggest that analysis beyond the Glauber model is crucial for accurately determining nuclear charge radii from CCCSs., Comment: 5 figures

The spin-dependent band structure of CoS$_2$ which is a candidate for a half-metallic ferromagnet was investigated by both spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and theoretical calculations, in order to reappraise the half-metallicity and electronic correlations. We determined the three-dimensional Fermi surface and the spin-dependent band structure. As a result, we found that a part of the minority spin bands is on the occupied side in the vicinity of the Fermi level, providing spectroscopic evidence that CoS$_2$ is not but very close to a half-metal. Band calculations using density functional theory with generalized gradient approximation showed a good agreement with the observed majority spin $e_g$ bands, while it could not explain the observed band width of the minority-spin eg bands. On the other hand, theoretical calculations using dynamical mean field theory could better reproduce the strong mass renormalization in the minority-spin $e_g$ bands. All those results strongly suggest the presence of anomalously enhanced spin-dependent electron correlation effects on the electronic structure in the vicinity of the half-metallic state. We also report the temperature dependence of the electronic structure across the Curie temperature and discuss the mechanism of the thermal demagnetization. Our discovery of the anomalously large spin-dependent electronic correlations not only demonstrates a key factor in understanding the electronic structure of half-metals but also provides a motivation to improve theoretical calculations on spin-polarized strongly correlated systems., Comment: 53 pages, 25 figures, 1 table

To study the internal structure of the exotic hadron $X(3872)$, considering the coupled-channel potential between quarks and hadrons is necessary because $X(3872)$ is regarded as a mixture state of $c\bar{c}$ and $D^0\bar{D}^{*0}$. In this work, we construct the hadron-hadron potentials coupled to the quark channel and study the properties of the $D^0\bar{D}^{*0}$ potentials for $X(3872)$. In the context of an evolutionary model, the outflow phase of an Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) occurs at the peak of its activity, once the central SMBH is massive enough to generate sufficient power to counterbalance the potential well of the host galaxy. This phase plays a vital role in galaxy evolution. We aim to apply various selection methods to isolate powerful AGNs in the feedback phase, trace and characterise their outflows, and explore the link between AGN luminosity and outflow properties. We applied a combination of methods to the eROSITA Final Equatorial Depth survey (eFEDS) catalogue and isolated ~1400 candidates at z>0.5 out of ~11750 AGNs (~12\%). We tested the robustness of our selection on the small subsample of 50 sources with available good quality SDSS spectra at 0.51\%. We find that the majority of the outflows have momentum flux ratios lower than 20 which rules out an energy-conserving nature. Our present work points to the unequivocal existence of a rather short AGN outflow phase, paving the way towards a new avenue to dissect AGN outflows in large samples within eROSITA and beyond., Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics(A&A), 24 pages, 18 figures, 5 tables

We propose a semi-automatic staging area for efficiently building an accurate database of experimental physical properties of superconductors from literature, called SuperCon2, to enrich the existing manually-built superconductor database SuperCon. Here we report our curation interface (SuperCon2 Interface) and a workflow managing the state transitions of each examined record, to validate the dataset of superconductors from PDF documents collected using Grobid-superconductors in a previous work. This curation workflow allows both automatic and manual operations, the former contains ``anomaly detection'' that scans new data identifying outliers, and a ``training data collector'' mechanism that collects training data examples based on manual corrections. Such training data collection policy is effective in improving the machine-learning models with a reduced number of examples. For manual operations, the interface (SuperCon2 interface) is developed to increase efficiency during manual correction by providing a smart interface and an enhanced PDF document viewer. We show that our interface significantly improves the curation quality by boosting precision and recall as compared with the traditional ``manual correction''. We study the possibility of superconductivity in a trilayer Ruddlesden-Popper nickelate La$_4$Ni$_3$O$_{10}$ under pressure both theoretically and experimentally, making comparison with the recently discovered high $T_c$ superconductor La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$, a bilayer nickelate. Through DFT calculations, we find that a structural phase transition from monoclinic to tetragonal takes place around 10 - 15 GPa. Using the tetragonal crystal structure, we theoretically investigate the possibility of superconductivity, where a combination of fluctuation exchange approximation and linearized Eliashberg equation is applied to a six-orbital model constructed from first principles band calculation. The obtained results suggests that La$_4$Ni$_3$O$_{10}$ may also become superconducting under high pressure with $T_c$ comparable to some cuprates, although it is not as high as La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$. We also perform experimental studies using our polycrystalline samples of La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7.01}$ and La$_4$Ni$_3$O$_{9.99}$. The superconducting transition of La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7.01}$, with a maximum onset $T_c$ of 67.0 K at a pressure of 26.5 GPa, is confirmed by a drop in the electrical resistance, as well as the magnetic field dependence of the resistance. Quite interestingly, similar temperature and magnetic field dependencies of the resistance are observed also for La$_4$Ni$_3$O$_{9.99}$, where a drop in the resistance is observed at lower temperatures compared to La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_{7.01}$, under pressures of 32.8 GPa and above. Given the theoretical expectation, the reduction in the resistance can most likely be attributed to the occurrence of superconductivity in La$_4$Ni$_3$O$_{9.99}$. Quantum oscillations in magnetic torque and electrical resistivity were measured to investigate the electronic structure of \b{eta}-ReO2, a candidate hourglass nodal chain metal (Dirac loop chain metal). All the de Haas-van Alphen oscillation branches measured at 30 mK in magnetic fields of up to 17.5 T were consistent with first-principles calculations predicting four Fermi surfaces (FSs). The small-electron FS of the four FSs exhibited a very small cyclotron mass, 0.059 times that of the free electrons, which is likely to be related to the linear dispersion of the energy band. The consistency between the quantum oscillation results and band calculations indicates the presence of the hourglass nodal chain predicted for \b{eta}-ReO2 in the vicinity of the Fermi energy., Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures, 2 tables

We examine the bulk reconstruction in the AdS/CFT correspondence. We demonstrate that the subregion duality fails to hold, highlighting discrepancies between operators in causal wedge reconstruction and those in global reconstruction at the leading order in the large $N$ limit. We argue the invalidity of the entanglement wedge reconstruction, attributing it to non-perturbative finite $N$ effects or quantum gravity effects due to the trans-Planckian modes near the horizon. Nevertheless, we propose the subregion complementarity, illustrating that different CFT operators can describe a bulk subregion. One of the key questions on active galactic nuclei (AGN) in galaxy clusters is how AGN could affect the formation and evolution of member galaxies and galaxy clusters in the history of the Universe. To address this issue, we investigate the dependence of AGN number fraction ($f_{\rm AGN}$) on cluster redshift ($z_{\rm cl}$) and distance from the cluster center ($R/R_{\rm 200}$). We focus on more than 27,000 galaxy groups and clusters at $0.1 < z_{\rm cl} < 1.4$ with more than 1 million member galaxies selected from the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam. By combining various AGN selection methods based on infrared (IR), radio, and X-ray data, we identify 2,688 AGN. We find that (i) $f_{\rm AGN}$ increases with $z_{\rm cl}$ and (ii) $f_{\rm AGN}$ decreases with $R/R_{\rm 200}$. The main contributors to the rapid increase of $f_{\rm AGN}$ towards high-$z$ and cluster center are IR- and radio-selected AGN, respectively. Those results indicate that the emergence of the AGN population depends on the environment and redshift, and galaxy groups and clusters at high-$z$ play an important role in AGN evolution. We also find that cluster-cluster mergers may not drive AGN activity in at least the cluster center, while we have tentative evidence that cluster-cluster mergers would enhance AGN activity in the outskirts of (particularly massive) galaxy clusters., Comment: 16 pages, 21 figures, and 2 tables, accepted for publication in PASJ

In ground-view object change detection, the recently emerging mapless navigation has great potential to navigate a robot to objects distantly detected (e.g., books, cups, clothes) and acquire high-resolution object images, to identify their change states (no-change/appear/disappear). However, naively performing full journeys for every distant object requires huge sense/plan/action costs, proportional to the number of objects and the robot-to-object distance. To address this issue, we explore a new map-based active vision problem in this work: ``Which journey should the robot select next?" However, the feasibility of the active vision framework remains unclear; Since distant objects are only uncertainly recognized, it is unclear whether they can provide sufficient cues for action planning. This work presents an efficient simulator for feasibility testing, to accelerate the early-stage R&D cycles (e.g., prototyping, training, testing, and evaluation). The proposed simulator is designed to identify the degree of difficulty that a robot vision system (sensors/recognizers/planners/actuators) would face when applied to a given environment (workspace/objects). Notably, it requires only one real-world journey experience per distant object to function, making it suitable for an efficient R&D cycle. Another contribution of this work is to present a new lightweight planner inspired by the traditional multi-armed bandit problem. Specifically, we build a lightweight map-based planner on top of the mapless planner, which constitutes a hierarchical action planner. Charge-changing cross section ($\sigma_{\text{cc}}$) measurements via the transmission method have made important progress recently aiming to determine the charge radii of exotic nuclei. In this work, we report a new $\sigma_{\text{cc}}$ measurement of 304(9) MeV/nucleon $^{28}$Si on carbon at the second Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2) and describe the data analysis procedure in detail. This procedure is essential to evaluate the systematic uncertainty in the transmission method. The determined $\sigma_{\mathrm{cc}}$ of 1125(11) mb is found to be consistent with the existing data at similar energies.
